Is there a way to get the Drill through to work with model viewer controls? Any workaround?
Also, where would I find more complex data mining models for review? SQLServerDataMining site, Microsoft data mining tutorial site, and Data Mining with SQL 2005 book, all checked. Anything else?

Does anyone have a link to a good tutorial on how to create a drill down report in SSRS 2000. I found one for SSRS 2005
http://www.c-sharpcorner.com/UploadFile/MohanKumar.R/DrillDownReport02212008083910AM/DrillDownReport.aspx
If I had the AdventureWorks Db I may be able to figure it out.
I know how to create a hyperlink but I need the toggle (+/-) for my latest endeavor.
My book "Hitchhikers Guide..." didn't help me out.
Thanks.
Hi,
we have a requirement that, when we click on the multiple series bars in a SSRS chart, it should drill through that chart and the detail report should filter based on these x axis and y axis of the bars selected.
As far as my knowledge, we can drill through the chart by selecting single series bar at a time in SSRS. Is there any way to acheive this multiple drill through of a chart.
Thanks

I'm new to the SSRS reports, I have a Drill Down report in that I had Customer data and its related Accounts are populating while expanding the (+) Customer now I need to add hyperlink to the associated Accounts .. How to achieve this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having difficulty in exporting a report to Excel that has drill-down grouping created in SSRS 2008 R2. I can export with the report expanded or with just the summary and both look fine, but when it gets to Excel it looses the toggle ability which I need for it to retain.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have created a word cloud in SSRS 2008 using Jason Thomas's method but I would like to be able to add an action to click on a word to go to a another report using either the word or an ID integer. how to add an action to go to another report?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI thought the built in expression Level() would show me be drill down level. I can't see to get that to work. I'd like to determine my drill down level so I can hide columns based on that.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI replied to an thread in the pre-2010 forum before I realized the forum I was in...
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 to Design my SSRS reports. The report viewer is using SharePoint 2010 SP1 integrated mode.
I am using a conditional statement to determine which report to drill to based on the SSRS textbox's column.
=iif((Fields!Type.Value =
"Total")OR
(Fields!Type.Value ="Variance - (F)/U"),"DivisionSpendingReport","DivisionSpendingReportDetail")
Works fine in Visual Studio. Once deployed to SharePoint though, the drill through returns an error that says report can't be found. So I added the .rdl to the conditional statement in the report Design.
=iif((Fields!Type.Value =
"Total")OR
(Fields!Type.Value ="Variance - (F)/U"),"DivisionSpendingReport.rdl","DivisionSpendingReportDetail.rdl")
It now works in SharePoint but not in Visual Studio...
Do I need to keep adding and removing the ".rdl" in order to make any changes to this report???!!!
I have a drill down report which need to be exported to excel. But, when exporting to excel it shows many unwanted blank rows for a particular record due to the drill down option.
Is it possible to remove it?
I need to exclude the rows in yellow color when exporting to excel.
Just wondering when is it preferred to use Matrix control as opposed to a table? Also, on a related note, can a table control be used for displaying information from one data set or could information coming from multiple data sets be bound to a single table in such a way that there could be logically different sections within the same table?
Thanks.
I am trying to develop a report from cube, and it has one drill through report.when i click on sales amount field on main report, then it open the drill through report with details. Here i passed the **(category, subcat, product)parameters(Cascaded)** to drill through report in action part of main report. In my main report i have two columns .
columns are **Level** and **Salesamount**.
Values are like
**[-]category** **100**
**[-]subcat** **50**
**product** **30**
when i click on 100, parameters are passed & it open the detail report correctly, but when i click on 50,the values for subcat parameter is not getting values in detail report and same as the product also.
Here i used the expressions in parameter values
**pCategory**----iif(inscope(category),!fields.category.value,split(join(Parameters!category.value,","),","))
**psubcat**----iif(inscope(subcat),!fields.subcat.value,split(join(Parameters!subcat.value,","),","))
**pproduct**----iif(inscope(product),!fields.product.value,split(join(Parameters!product.value,","),","))

Is it possible to translate the web report viewer control to another language (german, french...)? I need to integrate the control in a multilingula website.
I need also to change the messages from the report during the rendering "Report is being created".
And is it possible to change the little green animated icon during the process of creating a report?
Thanks,

Hi,
I need to assign the value for a field in a report based on Expand/Collapse state of another field.
Eg. If Collapsed, the value should be "AA" else if Expanded "BB".
Is there any way to get the value of InitialToggleState for any field in SSRS.
Thanks in advance.

I defined my input parameter as date/time but it doesn't have a time picker where we can accept user input.
The calendar is great but time picker is missing.
Is there any add-in or tweaks I can use to get that feature ?
The alternative solution which uses drop down with some preset values are not feasible for me. All I need is just the time picker similar to adjust time in Windows.
I want to Change parameter position in SSRS report.I need Start Date and End Date Parameter at same column so client can easily select Start Date and End Date.I have tried a lot but not succeed.
How Can I change the position of Start Date and End Date.I can't change order of other three parameter Select Institutions, Select Author and Course Pack Names parameter because they are internally related to each other(forward dependencies are there).

View 2 Replies View RelatedHello Friends,
I have created few reports in SSRS 2005 on Windows 2003 Standard. Previouly I was not able to view reports from my .ASPX page which contained a ReportViewer, after going throuhg some other threads I was able to create a snap-shot for my reports . But still I'm not able to view reports, each time I try to view the page I get a message box with a error as : "Unable to locate control SSRS 2005: oReportCell" the same error is displayed when i try to access my reports from "http://localhost/reports.....".
But the funny thing is I'm able to view the reports when I use the following URL: "http://localhost/reportserver/pages/reportviewer.aspx?/<report>". I have applied all the Hotfixes & installed the latest Service packs. Any suggestions ???????
When I put a sqldatasource in my page and want to configure it and add a new connection to it I recieve this error : "object reference not set to an instance of an object" . Do you have any idea about solving this problem. please help me Thanks
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt seems the features are disabled when using any of the above because of compatibility issues with scripting/ActiveX not being properly supported by the FireFox and Chrome.
I believe the control determines the browser you are using is not IE and will not render the controls to prevent unexpected behavior because if the lack of ActiveX support. This can be seen when you compare the HTML of a page using IE8 and that of either IE11, FF, Chrome you'll see that the HTML for a zoom drop down control will show up in the IE8 browser and not in the others.
As for IE11 it presents itself as a Mozilla browser. eg: "User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko" so when the control see's this it wont generate any of the controls believing the browser can't support it, even though IE11 should certainly be capable of doing so. I wanted to know if this is correct and if this is a bug?

When creating a user control (ascx) and registering it in the webpage, an error occurred:

This error does not appear when creating data access normally, and I don't use username/password for the northwind database; any suggestions.
I have a combo box named [myControl] on an Access form that I can use to select/enter a site name (ABC). There is a button on the same form that runs a report. The underlying record source for the report is a SQL Function. Is there an easy way to pass the combo box value to the SQL Function so that only records for site 'ABC' are displayed in the report? I tried Forms![myForm]![myControl] in the criteria box of the Function and it did not work. THANKS!

I am just wondering if i can control the access of range of variables from users' logins.
To be more specific, if i a parameter alpha has five values (1,2,3,4,5) and then i have 3 users A, B C, what i need is:
1. A can access Vaues(1, 3)
2. B can access Values (2, 4)
3. C can access Values(3,5)
Is there anyway i can do this either from the stored procedure i am getting the data or i can do it on SSIS development side?
Hello,
I have a database (SQL 2005) with two schemas (dbo and s1) and with tables defined in dbo and tables defined in s1. The stored procedures are also defined in both schemas, some of them in dbo some of them in s1. Some of the stored procedures query tables from dbo and s1 at the same time.
I want to have a new db role with access to the database only through sps and no other access read/write to the tables. I created a new db role and granted execute permission to it and assigned a user to it.
When I execute stored procedure defined in dbo with query against dbo tables, it works as expected.
However, if I run stored procedure defined in s1 with query to table in dbo, I receive error about missing select permission for the table in dbo. I am not sure why, but I can assume there is an issue with the ownership chain.
I can grand read/write permission for the tables, but this will break our original requirement for limited access to the db only through sp.
The other option is to have another role r2, with read/write, privilege and to use EXECUTE AS r2 in the sp.
I would like to ask first why the error for missing select permission happens and is there another way to have role restricted to only execute permission for all stored procedures.
Thanks,
IT
