hi i need help anybody know how to dump data in sql server from xml file..?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I am running sql server 7 with 200+GB database size. I have one table with following fields
IIINDEX
DOCTYPE
IMAGE BLOB
I need to dump all the information from this table to hard drive.
I have try with delphi ado and delphi odbc (limit 1mb), somehow when I run the program it gives me an error message E_ timeout.
How can I dump this information without using delphi.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
If you have any code that can help please email me samirp@ix.netcom.com
Thanks.

I would like to export the database(with table schema and existing data).
My database is a mdf file and i know that SQL Server 2005 Express Edition cannot do this.
I would like to know if there are any FREE tools can export the table schema and existing data to a .sql file. OR SQL Server 2005 can do this?
Thank you
We purchased a software package that has a built in e-mail package. We now find ourselves in a position to audit the e-mails that are flying around. But the vendor is not telling us the name of the table that contains the text/body of the e-mails in order to audit the e-mails. My boss would like me to dump the tables to a text file and search through them looking for key words. There has to be a way to do that without dumping the tables, isn't there? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you! Jena
View 3 Replies View RelatedHi, I just started using SQL Server 2005 and I'm trying to find out how to do a sql dump on a table, but this is proving more challenging then it should be.
I usually use mysql with a program called navicat, and all you do is right click on the table and select dump... Inserting the data back in is just as simple. I have also used sql server 2000 awhile back and I know there was a dumping utility for it.
Can someone point me in the right direction on how to dump data to a .sql file and reinsert that data? Thanks!
Hey everyone, trying to set up a SQL Query to run on a pre-determinedbatch cycle that will automatically dump out specific table data to a..csv file so that users can load the file into Excel right away, withno manipulation or modification. We are running SQL Server 2000. View 2 Replies View RelatedAny ideas on how to export from excel and simply get rs to do a data dump, not pull over any of the formatting, just simple columns and rows of data?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to export a table with ~ 10 Million rows to a flat file and it is taking for ever with SQL2005 export functionality. I have tried creating an SSIS package with a flat-file destination and the results are the same. In each case it does the operation in chunks of about 9900+ rows, and each chunk takes ~1-2 minutes which sounds unreasonable.
I tried bcp, and it fails after a few thousand rows. I tried moving the data to SQL2000 first then to flat file from SQL2K, but the move from SQL2005->SQL2000 was going at the same rate as above.
So, the bottleneck seems to be data going out of SQL2005 no matter what the destination is. I'm wondering if there is some setting that Iam missing that would make this run in a reasonable amount of time?
is there any way to monitor the space utilisation of log space and if it crosses 60% or above, dump the transaction log, effectively....
i tried some of the things, given below.
1. script to monitor the space used of log using dbcc sqlperf(logspace) and check if crosses 60 % and dump the transaction into disk file and execute this script through a schedule task running every minute.
2. same result thro using sql server performance monitor.
Hello,
Is it possible to use a dump from a database to do a restore of a db on a different server?
I have a SQL 2000 server and having been given a file called test.dmp (I am not sure what SQL version this is). Can I use this to do a restore to a new db I have created on my server? If so what method do I use?

Does anyone know if it is ok or works loading a database dump
from one SQL server running SP 5a (production server) onto another SQL server running SP 3 (backup server)? We were not planning to upgrade our production and backup servers simultaneously unless there would be a problem loading the
database dumps.
Thanks you in advance.
I am attempting to remember the string to dump/restore a database to a different physical server.
I have the database on Server 1 and want to back it up to server 2. Can anyone refresh my memory?
Thanks
We are using SQL Server 2005 SP2 (32 bit) Clustered, and our server crashed twice within the last week. Has anyone experienced problems with the scheduler crashing SQL Server?

Please, help me.
Best regards
I am would like for a Trigger to fire after an SSIS job finishes.
My understanding is that i would use a AFTER trigger.
How my UPDATE and INSERT INTO would fire and only affect the new rows.
SET ARITHABORT OFF
SET ANSI_WARNINGS OFF
UPDATE [GDev].[dbo].[tblCIDetailsTest]
SET dFRate = (dFCharge/(dSCharge+dACharge))
Also need to INSERT INTO 3 columns from a Table called tblFinanceP by looking up/Union or Join (not sure what to use) called vcTNum that is in bother the tblFinacneP and tblCIDetailsTest.
INSERT INTO [GDev].[dbo].[tblCIDetailsTest] AS Details
SELECT iPNum, iPCount, iZone
FROM [GrEDI].[dbo].[tblFinanceP] AS EDI
where EDI.vcTNum = GDev.dbo.tblCIDetailsTest.vcTN

Hi,
I do not know if it can be done:
how to import an Oracle dump file into SQL server ?
That dump file contains the content of a table, excported from Oracle.
Is there a way or another to import it to SQLServer 2000 ?
Thanks

I've just started getting this EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) on machines using Windows 2000 sp4 connecting to SQLServer. This is crashing JVMs (multiple Sun versions and BEA also) in the Java VM frame (outside our code). This has just started recently - perhaps with the last set of patches? Has anyone else seen this or know what I could do to get more information? Could this be related to updates to named pipes?
Thanks!

Hi, I have added a new SQL Server database to my project and I was wondering how to do generate a SQL dump of the database, tables, and queries? I couldn't find any utilities in Visual Studio 2008 Pro. I also couldn't figure out how to create indexes using VS. Thanks!

I am trying to dump my mssql DB so I can upload it to my web server.
I am using SQLDump v3.0b1 from sourceforge.net.
My problem is, when generating the dump file, any value greater than 1000 in a money column is set to 1.0000 in the dump file.
Does anyone know of a better program I should be using or a way for me to correct this?
My DB is huge and it would take far too much time to go through the dump file and correct the changed values.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanx
Hi,
I need a good suggestion from you.

2. Is there any way with out creating a snapshot or replication. I need to copy the data from my master database to child database(my reporting database) with out straining much my master database
Thanks in advance

Hi all,
When I use "DUMP DATABASE", it will help me to backup both database and
transaction log. However, it will not help me to clean up the transaction log.
Therefore, I am worry that will the following happen?
1. DUMP DATABASE
Start backup database
( there are transactions during the backup process )
Finish backup database
Start backup transaction
Finish backup transaction
2. DUMP TRANSACTION
Start backup transaction and clean up the transaction log
So, will the transactions been backuped twice? If yes, will it cause those
transaction do twice when I restore the database then restore the transaction?
Thanks
Hi,
I need to dump transaction log every night. Before I do that I'd like to check those open transactions and kill the ones not part of sa or SQL server dba's activity. How can I achieve this?
Thanks in advance.

Hello, All!
Can anyone explain what happens to Transaction Log
when DUMP DATABASE is issued?
Thanx.
John.
After Dumping a database device, I still find the xxx.DAT files inthe /Data directory. Can these be 'safely' removed/backed up ?
They are taking up WAY too much space.
Question 2: After installation and after creating devices & databases, is there any way to reassign the /Data directory on another drive?
Either for future devices/databases or existing?
Thank you much,
-James
I understand from the beta sql 7 newsgroups that 7 can't restore a 6.5 dump. This is extremely frustrating that MS wouldn't put this type of backword compatibility into 7.
Has anyone found another way to accomplish this? I can't use transfer manager as the 2 servers are on seperate, non-connected boxes. I ftp'd the dump from 6.5 server to a middle-man machine, then copied it to the 7.0 server.
Am I looking at bcp'ing out all 203 tables in my 1GB db then bcp'ing them back in?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Andre
Is there a way to dump sql in Access like in Transact SQL or mysqldump?
I've gotta convert an Access Database into a MySQL database, it is a small database, but I'd not want to put it in by hand .
If not, I'll just make a PHP script to rip it from a textfile.
