Dynamic SQL Code Questions

Oct 18, 2007

Hi all--Given a table with the following structure on SQL Server 2005 SP2:

CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Contact_Data](

[COMPANY] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[CONTACT] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[LASTNAME] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[DEPARTMENT] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[TITLE] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[PHONE1] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[PHONE2] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[PHONE3] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[FAX] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[EXT1] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[EXT2] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[ADDRESS1] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[ADDRESS2] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[CITY] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[STATE] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[ZIP] [float] NULL,

[KEY1] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[KEY2] [float] NULL,

[KEY3] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[KEY4] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_COMPANY] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_CONTACT] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_LASTNAME] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_CITY] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_STATE] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_KEY1] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_KEY2] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_KEY3] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_KEY4] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[U_KEY5] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[Corporate] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[Account_Role] [nvarchar](255) NULL,

[Premise_Role] [nvarchar](255) NULL

)

I'm trying to write some dynamic SQL that cycles through all the column names in a table, checks through all the rows in that table for any blank rows of data and assign the rows count result to a variable called 'blankrow'. Here's my code so far:

declare @blankrow int,

@sqlstr nvarchar(2048),

@sqlstr2 nvarchar(2048)

set @sqlstr2 = N'select name from sys.all_columns

where object_id = 1831117714'

set @sqlstr = N'SELECT count(*)

FROM [Contact_Data]

where (' + @sqlstr2 + ') IS NOT null'

exec sp_executesql @sqlstr

set @blankrow=convert(nvarchar, @sqlstr)

print @blankrow

set @sqlstr='The number of blank rows found= ' + CAST(@@ROWCOUNT as Varchar(5)) + ' rows.'

go

Here are the errors I get:

1. For this code:

set @sqlstr2 = N'select name from sys.all_columns

where object_id = 1831117714'

set @sqlstr = N'SELECT count(*)

FROM [Contact_Data]

where (' + @sqlstr2 + ') IS NOT null'

exec sp_executesql @sqlstr

Error:

Msg 512, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <= , >, >= or when the subquery is used as an expression.

2. For this code:

set @blankrow=convert(nvarchar, @sqlstr)

print @blankrow

set @sqlstr='The number of blank rows found= ' + CAST(@@ROWCOUNT as Varchar(5)) + ' rows.'

I get this error:
Conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value 'SELECT count(*)
FROM [Contact' to data type int.

For the latter error, I know I have to change type from int to nvarchar, but don't know how to do this yet in this context. I suspect I have to do something like this:

execute sp_executsql @sqlstr, @blankrow int, @blankrow=CAST(@sqlstr as nVarchar(5))

Ideas?

Thanks,
Jon

Basic SQL Code Questions

Nov 17, 2005

I have created two tables and inserted the data using insert statements. The two tables that I have created are Automobile and Dealer_Info and have a 1:M relation from Dealer_Info > Automobile.

I am trying to list the Vehicle_Model and the number of times they are repeated, but when I run the code (below) the Count is inserted into an arbitrarily made up attribute (No column name). When that happens I cannot sort in DESC order.

I am using SQL(2000)

Select Vehicle_Model, Count(Vehicle_Model) from Automobile
Group by (Vehicle_Model)
Order by count(*)
;

Results:

Vehicle_Model (No column name)
Escort 1
F150 4
Explorer 6
Taurus 12

Questions About Keys - Porting Code From MySQL To MS-SQL

Aug 2, 2006

Understand, I have developed a number of applications using RDBMS,including MySQL, PostgreSQL and MS Access, but this is my firstexperience with MS SQL. I'd bet my bottom dollar that MS SQL supportswhat I need, but I just haven't found where it is explained in anydetail in the documentation I have. The pages I have found strike meas a little too terse for my needs.In MySQL, I used statements like:PRIMARY KEY (`ic_contact_id`),KEY `ic_planner_id_k_tmp` (`ic_rep_code`)at the end of the SQL statement that creates a table. The primary keyhad to be unique but the other did not. Defining the non-unique keypaid huge dividends in the performance of certain queries, sometimesleading to orders of magnitude improvement compared to when the KEY wasnot defined (a few seconds vs tens of minutes). In joins, these keysrelate to primary keys in other tables that function as lookup tables.Otherwise, their primary role is for aggregation functions (max, min,&c.) in relation to group by clauses. The performance improvementsfrom having the KEYs defined are greatest in the latter.I have learned the hard way that MS SQL seems to like my primary keyclauses but not my KEY clauses. I don't know, and at present don'tcare, if this is because MySQL supports my KEYs as an extension to thestandard, or if it is a matter of the two RDBMS interpreting thestandard differently, or something else. What I need to know right nowis how do I obtain in MS SQL the same benefit as the MySQL KEY providedto me.A second question is that, in studying the documentation for the createtable statement, I saw reference to clustered vs non-clustered keys (atleast I assume they relate to keys since they immediately follow, andare indented from, the primary key and unique keywords). What exactlyis clustered and why? BTW, my primary understanding of "clustering"derives from work with numerical taxonomy and biogeography, but I'dwager that is something completely different from any clustering donein an RDBMS.I'll appreciate any clarification you can provide.Thanks,Ted

Dynamic SQL And Execution Plan And Very Slow. A Few Questions

Sep 27, 2006

Hey. I've a problem and I think I know the answer also but still want to confirm. We are using SQL 2000 and SSRS 2000. The problem is, we have custom reports which a customer can build and run. I wonder how one can write sp's for that. The way it's written right now is a dynamic select clause then a dynamic, from, a dynamic where, dynamic groupby all appended torgether and run by execute command. I know it'd dynamic SQL and execution plans and stuff will hurt me but someof these reports take forever. Is there anything that can be done to fasten these reports? And if the select will be dynamic and the where will be dynamic, does it make sense to even use a sp? Is it ever going to use the same execution plan? When I run DBCC memorystatus, procedure cache takes up most of this memory. Does the use of dynamic SQL explain that?

Thank you for your time and effort in replying.

Dynamic Code In Stored Procs.

Mar 3, 2006

Hey all,

So here's my deal, I've got a bunch of tables set up like so.

CaseName_Class
CaseName_Address
CaseName_Mailing

The casename obviously changes based on the name of the case, but all table share the "_Class", "_Address" etc.

Now, I have built apps for these to do various things, handling mail, logging claims in, whatever. And at this point in time each case has a new directory with the files inside that directory that all do the same thing. Reason why this sucks is that if I change an app in one place, I should be hanging it in about 100 other places which causes...

So, what I am attempting to do is created a stored proc in SQL to handle one of the applications, pass in a few variables and make all of the cases run off of that one proc...yay! go me.

Now...due to the fact I have to pull the case prefix name everytime the proc runs, I am kind of shooting myself in the foot being that the proc has to recompile everytime to get that casename.

The code that is currently there and works, looks like this

Code:

SET @dynSQLBox = N'SELECT @BoxCount1 = COUNT(MailingID) ' + char(10) +
'FROM ' + @Client + '_Mailing' + char(10) +
'WHERE MailEventID = ' + CAST( @MailEventID as varchar(20) ) + char(10) +
'AND MailTypeID = ' + CAST( @MailTypeID as varchar(20) ) + char(10) +
'AND box = ' + @Box

Just as an example that is looking for the max box count inside of a box inside of the specific case.

I am wondering if there is a better way to go about getting data that has to be dynamic inside of a stored proc.

I hope this makes sense, and look forward to talking about it.

Thanks!
Caden

Dynamic Creation Of Temp Tables Using Managed Code

Jan 23, 2008

Hi,
I have a requirement to create #Temp table in database and insert values to it.

I use following code:

DbCommand dbCreateTable;

dbCreateTable = provider.CreateCommand();

dbCreateTable.Connection = conn;

dbCreateTable.CommandText ="Create table #MyTemp (Id varchar(10))";

dbCreateTable.ExecuteNonQuery();

string[] insertValues = {"Insert into #Mytemp values ('TestString1')",

"Insert into #Mytemp values ('TestString2')"};

DbCommand dbInsertData = provider.CreateCommand();

dbInsertData.Connection = conn;

foreach (String insertStr in insertValues)

{

dbInsertData.CommandText = insertStr;

dbInsertData.ExecuteNonQuery();

}

Code creates the Temp table but when it comes to insert statement, it throws error saying "Temp table not found".
Reason can be Create and Insert statement gets executed as 2 different sessions.
How to get the above requirement work fine?
Thank you.

Help With Converting Code: VB Code In SQL Server 2000-&&>Visual Studio BI 2005

Jul 27, 2006

Hi all--I'm trying to convert a function which I inherited from a SQL Server 2000 DTS package to something usable in an SSIS package in SQL Server 2005. Given the original code here:
Function Main()
on error resume next
dim cn, i, rs, sSQL
Set cn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
cn.Open "Provider=sqloledb;Server=<server_name>;Database=<db_name>;User ID=<sysadmin_user>;Password=<password>"
set rs = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")
set rs = DTSGlobalVariables("SQLstring").value

for i = 1 to rs.RecordCount
sSQL = rs.Fields(0).value
cn.Execute sSQL, , 128 'adExecuteNoRecords option for faster execution
rs.MoveNext
Next

Main = DTSTaskExecResult_Success

End Function

This code was originally programmed in the SQL Server ActiveX Task type in a DTS package designed to take an open-ended number of SQL statements generated by another task as input, then execute each SQL statement sequentially. Upon this code's success, move on to the next step. (Of course, there was no additional documentation with this code. :-)

Based on other postings, I attempted to push this code into a Visual Studio BI 2005 Script Task with the following change:

public Sub Main()

...

Dts.TaskResult = Dts.Results.Success

End Class

I get the following error when I attempt to compile this:

Error 30209: Option Strict On requires all variable declarations to have an 'As' clause.

I am new to Visual Basic, so I'm on a learning curve here. From what I know of this script:
- The variables here violate the new Option Strict On requirement in VS 2005 to declare what type of object your variable is supposed to use.

- I need to explicitly declare each object, unless I turn off the Option Strict On (which didn't seem recommended, based on what I read).

Given this statement:

dim cn, i, rs, sSQL

I'm looking at "i" as type Integer; rs and sSQL are open-ended arrays, but can't quite figure out how to read the code here:

Set cn = CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

cn.Open "Provider=sqloledb;Server=<server_name>;Database=<db_name>;User ID=<sysadmin_user>;Password=<password>"

set rs = CreateObject("ADODB.Recordset")

This code seems to create an instance of a COM component, then pass provider information and create the recordset being passed in by the previous task, but am not sure whether this syntax is correct for VS 2005 or what data type declaration to make here. Any ideas/help on how to rewrite this code would be greatly appreciated!

How To Show Description In Report Instead Of Code (Desc For Code Is In Master Table)

Mar 28, 2007

Dear Friends,

I am having 2 Tables.

Table 1: AddressBook
Fields --> User Name, Address, CountryCode

Table 2: Country
Fields --> Country Code, Country Name

Step 1 : I have created a Cube with these two tables using SSAS.

Step 2 : I have created a report in SSRS showing Address list.

The Column in the report are User Name, Address, Country Name

But I have no idea, how to convert this Country Code to Country name.

I am generating the report using the Layout tab. ( Data | Layout | Preview ) Report1.rdl [Design]

Anyone help me to solve this issue. Because, in our project most of the transaction tables have Code and Code description in master table. I need to convert all code into corresponding description in all my reports.

Thanks in advance.

Importing Excel Sheet Which Have Dynamic Column Name And Dynamic Number Of Columns

Aug 25, 2007

Hi Craig/Kamal,

I got your email address from your web cast. I really enjoyed the web cast and found it to be
very informative.

Our company is planning to use SSIS (VS 2005 / SQL Server 2005). I have a quick question
regarding the product. I have looked for the information on the web, but was not able to find
relevant information.

We are getting Source data from two of our client in the form of Excel Sheet. These Excel sheets
Are generated using reporting services. On examining the excel sheet, I found out that the name
Of the columns contain data itself, so the names are not static such as Jan 2007 Sales, Feb 2007 Sales etc etc.
And even the number of columns are not static. It depends upon the range of date selected by the user.

I wanted to know, if there is a way to import Excel sheet using Integration Services by defining the position
Of column, instead of column name and I am not sure if there is a way for me to import excel with dynamic
Number of columns.

Your help in this respect is highly appreciated!

Thanks,

Hi Anthony, I am glad the Web cast was helpful.

Kamal and I have both moved on to other teams in MSFT and I am a little rusty in that area, though in general dynamic numbers of columns in any format is always tricky. I am just assuming its not feasible for you to try and get the source for SSIS a little closer to home, e.g. rather than using Excel output from Reporting Services, use the same/some form of the query/data source that RS is using.

I suggest you post a question on the SSIS forum on MSDN and you should get some good answers.

SSRS 2005 - Email Report On Execution To Dynamic List With Dynamic Parameters = No Schedule

Nov 23, 2007

Hi,
I have a need to display on screen AND email a pdf report to email addresses specified at run time, executing the report with a parameter specified by the user. I have looked into data driven subscriptions, but it seems this is based on scheduling. Unfortunately for the majority of the project I will only have access to SQL 2005 Standard Edition (Production system is Enterprise), so I cannot investigate thoroughly.

So, is this possible using data driven subscriptions? Scenario is:

1. User enters parameter used for query, as well as email addresses.
2. Report is generated and displayed on screen.
3. Report is emailed to addresses specified by user.

Any tips on how to get this working?

Thanks

Merge Replication W/ Dynamic Row Filter - Not 'dynamic' After First Initial Sync?

May 2, 2007

If anyone could confirm...

SQL Server 2000 SP4 to multiple SQL Server 2005 Mobile Edition on PDAs. My DB on SQL2k is published with a single dynamic row filter using host_name() on my 'parent' table and also join filters from parent to child tables. The row filter uses joins to other tables elsewhere that are not published to evaluate what data is allowed through the filter.

E.g. Published parent table that contains suppliers names, etc. while child table is suppliers' products. The filter queries host_name(s) linked to suppliers in unpublished table elsewhere.

First initial sync with snapshot is correct and as I expected - PDA receives only the data from parent (and thus child tables) that matches the row filter for the host_name provided.

However - in my scenario host_name <--> suppliers may later be updated E.g. more suppliers assigned to a PDA for use or vice versa. But when I merge the mobile DB, the new data is not downloaded? Tried re-running snapshot, etc., no change.

Question: I thought the filters would remain dynamic and be applied on each sync?

I run a 'harmless' update on parent table using TSQL e.g. "update table set 'X' = 'X'" and re-sync. Now the new parent records are downloaded - but the child records are not!

Question: I wonder why if parent records are supplied, why not child records?

If I delete existing DB and sync new, I get the updated snapshot and all is well - until more data added back at server...

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Is it possible (or not) to have dynamic filters run during second or subsequent merge?

Many Lines Of Code In Stored Procedure && Code Behind

Feb 24, 2008

Hello,
I'm using ASP.Net to update a table which include a lot of fields may be around 30 fields, I used stored procedure to update these fields. Unfortunatily I had to use a FormView to handle some TextBoxes and RadioButtonLists which are about 30 web controls.
I 've built and tested my stored procedure, and it worked successfully thru the SQL Builder.The problem I faced that I have to define the variable in the stored procedure and define it again the code behind againALTER PROCEDURE dbo.UpdateItems

@eName nvarchar, @ePRN nvarchar, @cID nvarchar, @eCC nvarchar,@sDate nvarchar,@eLOC nvarchar, @eTEL nvarchar, @ePhone nvarchar,

WHERE (ePRN = @ePRN)
and the code behind which i have to write will be something like thiscmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@eName", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox1")).Text);cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@ePRN", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox2")).Text);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@cID", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox3")).Text);cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@eCC", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox4")).Text);
((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox7")).Text = ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox7")).Text + ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox6")).Text + ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox5")).Text;cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@sDate", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox7")).Text);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@eLOC", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox8")).Text);cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@eTel", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox9")).Text);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@ePhone", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox10")).Text);
cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@eMobile", ((TextBox)FormView1.FindControl("TextBox11")).Text);
So is there any way to do it better than this way ??

Mixing Dynamic SQL With Non-Dynamic In Stored Proc

Mar 24, 2007

I have a Stored Procedure for processing a Bill of Material.

One column on the Assembly Table is a Function Name that contains some busniess rules.

OK, now I'm doing a Proof of Concept and I'm stumped.

Huuuuh!

I will ultimately have about 100 of these things. My plan was using Dynamic SQL to go execute the function.

Note: The function just returns a bit.

So; here's what I had in mind ...

if isnull(@FnNameYN,'') <> ''
exec spinb_CheckYN @FnNameYN, @InvLineID, @FnBit = @FnBit output

CREATE PROCEDURE dbo.spinb_CheckYN
@FnNameYN varchar(50),
@InvLineID int,
@FnBit bit output
AS

declare @SQL varchar(8000)

set @SQL = '
if dbo.' + @FnNameYN + ' (' + convert(varchar(31),@InvLineID) + ')) = 1
set @FnBit = 1
else
set @FnBit = 0'

exec (@SQL)
GO

Obviously; @FnBit is not defined in @SQL so that execution will not work.
Server: Msg 137, Level 15, State 1, Line 4
Must declare the variable '@FnBit'.
Server: Msg 137, Level 15, State 1, Line 5
Must declare the variable '@FnBit'.

So; is there a way to get a value out of a Dynamic SQL piece of code and get that value INTO my OUTPUT variable?

My many thanks to anyone who can solve this riddle for me.
Thank You!

Sigh: For now, it looks like I'll have a huge string of "IF" statements for each business rule function, as follows:
Hopefully a better solution comes to light.

------ Vertical Build1 - Std Vanes -----------
if @FnNameYN = 'fnb_YN_B1_14'
BEGIN
if dbo.fnb_YN_B1_14 (convert(varchar(31),@InvLineID) ) = 1
set @FnBit = 1
else
set @FnBit = 0
END

------ Vertical Build1 - Scissor Vanes -----------
if @FnNameYN = 'fnb_YN_B1_15'
BEGIN
if dbo.fnb_YN_B1_15 (convert(varchar(31),@InvLineID) ) = 1
set @FnBit = 1
else
set @FnBit = 0
END
.
.
.
etc.

Dynamic Source And Dynamic Destination

Apr 15, 2008

I have a requirment which i have partly accomplished , but could not get through completely

i have a file which comes in a standard format ending with date and seq number ,

suppose , the file name is abc_yyyymmdd_01 , for first copy , if it is copied more then once the sequence number changes to 02 and 03 and keep going on .

then i need to transform those in to new file comma delimited destination file with a name abc_yyyymmdd,txt and others counting file counting record abc_count_yyyymmdd.txt. and move it to a designated folder. and the source file is then moved to archived folder

what i have taken apprach is

script task select source file --------------------> data flow task------------------------------------------> script task to destination file

dataflow task -------------------------> does count and copy in delimited format

what is happening here is i can accomlish a regular source file convert it to delimited destination file --------> and move it to destination folder with script task .

but cannot work the dynamic pick of a source file.

SQL 2012 :: Creating Dynamic SSIS File Format - Dynamic CSV File As Output

Mar 2, 2014

I am trying to create an ssis package with dynamic csv file as output. and out format contains query output.

sample file name:

Unique identifier + query output + systemdate();

The expression is looking like this.

@[User::FilePath] + @[User::FileName] + ".CSV"

-- user filepath is a variable from ssis package. File name is the output from SQL query. using script task i have assigned the values to @[User::FileName] .

When I debugged the script task the value getting properly but same variable am using for Flafile destination. but its not working.

Dynamic Columns For Dynamic SQL

Mar 9, 2007

I have created a dynamic SQL program that returns a range of columns (1 -12) based on the date range the user may select. Each dynamic column is month based, however, the date range may overlap from one year to another. Thus, the beginning month for one selection may be October 2005, while another may have the beginning month of January 2007.

Basically, the dynamic SQL is a derived Pivot table. The problem that I need to resolve is how do I now use this dynamic result set in a Report. Please keep in mind that the name of the columns change based on the date range select.

I have come to understand that a dynamic anything is a moving target!

Please advise.

SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB Error Has Occurred. Error Code: 0x8000FFFF.

Jan 28, 2008

Hi All,

Recently in an SSIS package I am getting the following error for a particular Data flow task.

Error: 2008-01-25 12:01:48.58

Code: 0xC0202009

Source: Import Datasynapse Data User Events Source [3017]

Description: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x8000FFFF.

End Error

Error: 2008-01-25 12:01:48.73

Code: 0xC004701A

Source: Import Datasynapse Data DTS.Pipeline

Description: component "User Events Source" (3017) failed the pre-execute phase and returned error code 0xC0202009.

End Error

Our guess is when the data size of User Events table is more it throws this error. If we try to transfer small subset of data it succeeds. What could be reason for this error?

Since this is very urgent, immediate response would be very much appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Prakash Srinivasan

a means to accomplish them.

They are..

2. Count the number of rows in an external text file.

3. Be able to run the BCP command from within T-SQL. I am currently using
the BULK INSERT command which works fine but it does not allow the following..

a. Error log for failed inserts.

b. A command output file.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Two Questions!

Aug 4, 1999

I have two questions,
1) Could anyone please point me in the right direction concerning information pertaining to NT Server Enterprise Edition verses NT Server Workstations. We are having problems running SQL Server 7.0 and the Enterprise Edition together on the same machine and was wanting to find information about compatability issues, if there are any,
2) I, on a SQL Server 6.5 database shrunk it by 2 Gb. When I looked to see if SQL Server released those 2 Gb back to the hard drive, I was amazed that it didn't! Did I miss something or will SQL Server 6.5 not release the space because of the initial set-up. And why did SQL Server 6.5 automatically take the space from the Transaction logs when neither of the devices were specified? Is the Transaction Log the default area for shrinkage?

Thanks in Advance!

Hi, does anyone know how to explain how SQL transactions get mapped into TDS and TDS gets mapped into TCP/IP packets?

Or can you please point me in the right direction? I need to figure out how TDS and TCP/IP relate?

We're using replication and are having some latency issues and I'm trying to find out how SQL handles TDS and TCP/IP etc...

Thanks for your time.

DTS Questions

Feb 7, 2002

1. When we create DTS in SQL Server through DTS designer, where are they stored physically?
2. What would be the best way to modify a DTS without using DTS designer?
3. Is there any other way to create DTS apart from DTS designer and Visual Basic?
4. Is there any website which has detailed information for DTS? (which has more FAQs like above?)

In our production environment, we keep changing the servers frequently, and everytime that happens, I have to change the connection properties in all the DTS going to them one by one.

thanks,
sanjay.

SQL Questions

May 4, 2001

I am not too familiar with SQL Server, but my supervisor gave me the task of finding out the difference between SQL Enterprise and SQL Standard. He also asked me to research the difference between processor licences and client access licences. I will use the Internet as a resource, but I would also like to hear the opinions of someone who uses these programs or is knowledgable about them. So please any suggestions or any useful links would be very helpful.
