I'm trying to grab the lookup error output in my data flow task and send this information attached via an email to myself so that I know what records are causing problems. Does anyone have any useful links or suggestions on how to do this? It would be well appreciated.
Reporting Errors Via Email
Mar 7, 2008I am trying to get SQL Server 2000 to report errors of jobs we have running on our SQLServer.
We have installed Office2000 Outlook, but we keep getting the same error when we try to test it:
Error 18025: xp_test_mapi_profile: failed with mail error 0x80040111
The Exchange is on a different server, we have the Profile set up on the server, not the PC's, they just pull a copy of the Mailbox.
Any assistance would be greatfully appreciated.
SSIS Email Timeout Errors
Aug 15, 2007I continue to receive intermittent timeout errors from the SendMail task in my SSIS packages. I know that the SMTP server I am connecting to is often slow to respond to due other business needs, so my question is what property is available to increase the waiting period before a tiemout occurs with the SendMail task. I have not found a property in the task that allows me to say, wait 120 seconds for the SMTP server before throwing a timeout error.
Any thoughts?

Trapping Validation Errors And Sending Email
Jul 20, 2006I have a DTS package that I'm moving over to SSIS. In place of migrating this package, I've choosen to recreate it. This package moves data from an Informix database to a SQL database.
In the old package the first task was to make a simple connection to the Informix database and if the task failed, it would send an email and stop the package.
The biggest reason for this is because the Unix server that I'm getting the Informix data from forces the user passwords to be reset ever 90 days. So in my old package, if I forgot to change the password and the connection started to fail it would send me an email.
In my new package, SSIS performs a validation before starting. There are a number of task that uses the connection to the Informix database. Under testing, if I put in a bad password, the validation process generates a validation error. I've tried catching this validation error using the Error Handling events but I've had no luck. I can send out errors PreValidation and PostValidation but OnError appears not to fire under a validation error.
Might anyone have any suggestions on a proper way to validate and be able to send out email notification if a connection fails? Any assistance would be appreciated.
Send An Email On Non-fatal Errors From Data Flow
Apr 16, 2007Ok, I'm incredibly new to all of this so please bear with me. I took the Integration Services tutorial, and that's pretty much all that I have done.
I'm creating my first package and I want to be able to email myself when certain non-fatal conditions occur. I still want the entire row to flow into my table.
My understanding is that this type of checking should be done in the "Data Flow" tab not the "Control Flow" tab. However, I can't see a toolbox item in "Data Flow" to create a SQL script like this. I can see that the "Lookup" toolbox item will allow me to write a SQL script but how do I get it to send out the email? Or should I really be doing this type of checking in "Control Flow" where there is an "Send email task" item?
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Aug 25, 2015I have  data driven subscriptions which are working fine for some subscription and one i have newly developed which is used to send the missing punch report to employeesNow , when the subscription runs it shows that all have gone email in report server but some of they are not getting any email i have tested it on my id to send each ones report to me but i also get sometimes 2 of 15 , 4 of 15 or else but not all i also checked mailroot folder under my server's inetpub there are nothing stucks. How to check why is it not sending email to all employees ?

I'm struggling with a query that needs to use Not Exists between two unrelated tables. I'm not sure of the best way to handle this with SQL Query Analyzer.
I have three tables, employees, courses and training_records. There is no link between employees and courses other than through the training records table. My problem is that I am unsure of how to pull all employees and an associated course id and course title when there is not a training record for that employee/course?
I had a query that would work when I specified the course id, but I wanted to do this for a list of about 25 courses.

My results seem to work like I want them to, but I have never joined a table without actually joining on a value from each table. In this case I join to a list of values and that just looks odd to me. Is this good or crappy development? Is there a better way this should be done?

Hello,
I have two tables with the same field layout, and they both have the same field as the Primary Key. They just contain different data. I would like to know if a record exists in one, or both, tables.
The tables are InvTemp1 and SalesTemp1. The key for both is stock_number.
Here is the command so far:
SELECT COUNT(*)
FROM InvTemp1 INNER JOIN SalesTemp1 ON InvTemp1.Stock_number = SalesTemp1.Stock_number

I am trying to insert values into a table that doesn't exist there yet from another table, my problem is that because it is joined to the other table it keeps on selecting more values that i don't want.
Code Snippet

When i execute that code it returns all the values, let say OptionID = 3 is smoking already exists in the MemberProfileLookupValues table then it is going to select that persons memberID
I want to insert only members values that aren't already in the _MemberProfileLookupValues from the Members table (I think that it is because of the join statement that is in my code, but i don't know how i am going to select members that aren't in the table, because i have a few other queries that are very similar that are inserting different values, so ultimately
ONLY INSERT THE MemberID the values 6 and the statusID of X if it is not in the table already.
Any ideas / help will be greatly appreciated. Please help.

Select Patient INNER JOIN Anesthesia produced too many case results. So, I figured out there is an AnesthesiaTime table that only gets used if the anesthesia guys take time-outs. That doesn't happen all the time. I could use TOP 1 on the Anesthesia table, but technically I need to read the AnesthesiaTime table and locate the last time and pull that crna, Jack. I'm not sure how to deal with an optional table. I believe the IF Exists will be pertinent, but not sure of how to build this query. I've tried subquery without success.

Errors Restoring Tables
Aug 9, 1998A client recently changed his sort order and character set definitions. He is now unable to restore any of his tables. Prior to making the change he carried out the following steps;
1. Printed out the schema(scripts) for each database,
2. BCP`d all data out of SQL.
He the proceeded to make the change (via SQL Setup, rebuild master database option), then he recreated each device (data and log), recreated each database (data and log), ran each schema to rebuild each database (structure, views, etc) and then BCP`d all data back into databases.
He has been doing a full backup everyday since. He needs to restore a table but when he does so SQL reports that the schema is different between source and destination, no changes have been made.

Error In Using DTUTIL /Exists

i have to check whether SSIS package is present in MSDB or not.
I am using DTUTIL for this perpose . Command goes like this.
dtutil /SQL Package_for_testing /Exists
Error(0xC0014014) while checking for the existence of package "Package_for_testing" on SQL server
this is giving the error "The specified package does not exist.
Description: The ExistsOnSQLServer method has encountered OLE DB error code 0x80
004005 (Login timeout expired). The SQL statement issued has failed.

But the package is there in MSDB when i checked manually.
I want to know what this error signify? and how i can solve it.

Recovering Data From Broken Tables (latch Errors)

Is it possible to generate a script, that extracts every bit of data it can, from tables which suffers from latch errors;
DBCC CHECKDB ->
Msg 7985, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
System table pre-checks: Object ID 4. Could not read and latch page (1:403) with latch type SH. Check statement terminated due to unrepairable error.
So bad news on that one. There are no backup available that I know off, so all bets are off on that part of the recovery process.
The "good news" part of the problem, is that it is possible to extract some data out of the table, before SQL server 2005 returns the error. So what I want to do, is get every bit out I can, doing it somehow automatically, so I don't have to run bcp on 180 tables :).
Presumeably, this is quite possible, but how?
NB. If I do a complete basic SELECT * FROM tbl1, it returns data, then errors out, but what about the data after the last row SELECT returns? Is it possible, that there might be data in the table that are recoverable after the 'broken row(s)'?

this works fine, but the problem is when sql server restarts I loose trace but trace-file remains. When I want to create new trace with the same parameters I receive Error = 0x80070050(File Exists) .

Error Messages From Log Shipping Job That No Longer Exists
Apr 6, 2007I am receiving errors from a job that no longer exists. The databases created for this no longer exist also.
DATE/TIME: 4/6/2007 3:32:00 PM
DESCRIPTION: The log shipping secondary database LOG1.log_ship_test has restore threshold of 45 minutes and is out of sync. No restore was performed for 6004 minutes. Restored latency is 0 minutes. Check agent log and logshipping monitor information.

JOB RUN: (None)
I have gone into agent jobs and deleted those associated with it. I have also gone into the msdb database and deleted any lines associated with it in the log_shipping tables. But the errors keep coming. What do I need to do to clean this up?

When I try to access through the remote login, I am able to see the directory as well as the files there. How to overcome this error. Is there any workaround for this.

SQL Server 7 Error 15023, User Or Role Exists

i did a restore of a database, then tried to add the User login
to it, but when i select database access, i get the followinf error :-
"Error 15023, user or role already exists !
the user did exist on the Database, but when i select Database,Users or
Database,Roles the User doesn't exist !! so i can't drop it !
any ideas ??
