I am working on an ASP.NET and c# project. I am creating a page that allow user to add new Workitem to TFS and successfully do so. Now I would like to implement the way to email to notify the user that the new WI is added €¦. Does anyone know how to do this or have an example of how to implement that.

Not 100% sure how to do this so I would appreciate some directions. I have 2 tables, Systems and Contacts. A system can have 1 to infinite contacts and contact can have 1 to infinite systems. So I use a 3rd table Sys_Con to add the contact needed for each system.
Now my question is once I add the System and contact how do I know for sure which ContactID to add in my Sys_Con table? Because while I am doing this operation maybe someone can add an other contact. So is there a way for my store proc Add_Contact to return the contactID needed for my store proc Add_Sys_Con ?

I am getting this error when clicking-through in Report Builder on a report using a report model as the data source -
An item with the same key has already been added.
I searched for the error but came up empty in the SSRS space. Does anyone out there know when this is generated and where I need to look in my model/properties to see what I have set incorrectly?
A little background/detail - It's a simple report against two fields (type & #count) in one entity (customer) in a (guessing here) medium sized model (~16 transactional/fact entities, ~40 lookup entities, ~15 what I am calling domain entities). The entity has 5 DefaultDetailAttributes, one Identifying. The report has 2 fields type (a lookup role) and #customers in the data area (so I can click it to test the click through). Then I click the # Customers to look at the detail for those X customers and after a long while and no queries against the DB (I have profiler running) I get this error.

I am developing a small project that converts a dataset to an equivalent structure in SqlCe. The application converts every field, table and constraints to SqlCe, decomposing de dataset structure into Sql sentences.
The application works fine, the tables and constraints are reconstructed without error. but I found some issues:
After conversion, the usual test is to connect to SqlCe, using Data->Add New Data Source and generate a dataset from the resulting tables.
I found that some tables throw the following message:
Failed to add relation(s).An item with the same key has already been added.
After that, the dataset returned contains the tables, but not the relations.
After some trial I found that Data Source Configuration Wizard (DSCW) has some problem with foreign keys using Primary keys with multiple fields. If I drop that foreign keys, DSCW inferes the dataset without problem.
Interesting note: I am able to convert the dataset to an Sql Server using the same Sql sentences. If I use Data Source Configuration Wizard I have no errors.
Any advise to understand of fix this problem will be aprecciated.
Is that a bug from DSCW ?

Hi there,
I have a search page that redirects to another page transfering the search terms in a querystring. In the page to display the search results I use SQL parameters to show the results. Everything runs fine until I do a page refresh or use paging to bring up another set of results.
Everytime I try to refresh/page etc. I get the following error:

I would like to setup SSIS project so that multiple developers can work on same project. I am having issues with protectionlevel properties while another developer opens the package created by other developer.
Can anyone guide me on setting up project so that multiple developers could open the package and run (not simaltaneously though). Also tips on setting up source safe or team foundation will be appreciated!

I need to send email to the team when the job run completes.
On that server we have two instances one is default (2008R2) and another is 2014 From 2008r2 it will send email to the team.
I tried the profile account using anonymous and enter my company email & password but still the status is showing failed.
I do have smtp account details, I use the same port number but still failing?
We have a large number of SPs in our databases and decided it was time to get some source control. I have VSTS team explorer installed and working in visual studio, but I cannot get the plugin for SSMS to work - it just says none in the current source control plug-in dialogue box - nothing when I drop it down either.

Team members appear twice or more if they belong to more than one team. I need to be able to show their name and main team. Team is not important at the moment but I just like to include all team members and display a team name against them.This is what I have at the moment:

I have a stored procedure that works fine in reporting services. It grabs the total of Yes's and No's by dates . But then i went ahead and added 2 more parameters to the proc, and now the totals are all wrong. I dont understand how that can mess everything up. The email is sent using an activex script in a "SQL 2000 DTS Package Task". When executed manually, the email is sent ok. When scheduled (and run under our SQL agent account), it fails. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is this a permissions issue?

Also, since I have several DTS packages that are similar, I'd like to keep these packages in the SQL 2000 dts format, instead of converting them into SSIS format and using database mail.

Data driven subscription uses a SQL query to create report parameter values.
The subscription errors are inconsistent meaning sometimes no reports in a batch fail and sometimes 3 out of 5 will fail. I don't think it is data related because I'm using the same data each time.
When a report fails to email there is a consistent error related to rendering a chart. That message is in red below.
The data source is Analysis Services 2000. Has anyone seen this before? I've seen a lot of postings that are similar but no solutions. Is it possible for RS to lose data or get corrupt data from an MDX query?
Is there a timeout between RS and Analysis Services (PivotTable Service) to check?

Here's my problem. I have 2 tasks defined in my Control Flow tab:
EXECUTE SQL--------->EXECUTE DTS 2000 PACKAGE
When I attempt to run it, by right-clicking the EXECUTE SQL task, and selecting "Execute Task", it only runs the EXECUTE SQL part (successfully), and does not "kick off" the EXECUTE DTS 2000 PACKAGE, after it is done running (even though it completes successfully, as shown by the green box).
Yes, they are connected by a dark green arrow, as indicated in my diagram above.
Why is this?? Am I missing something here? Need help.

I have a problem with a report set up to execute a snapshot and subscription on day 1 of each month. On July 1, it ran and was emailed to the user; on 8/1 it created the snapshot but did not send to the user because of a user error in the subscription, so it was sent manually. the parameters issues were corrected and on 9/1 the snapshot executed but the subscription did not send. In the subscription window, the last good email of a snapshot was sent 7/1. So again 9/1 was sent manually. After fixing the parameters shouldn't this have emailed the snapshot correctly on 9/1?
Do I need to delete this subscription and create a new one to get it to send on 10/1 now?
any suggestions?
the set up is now verified to be identical to other reports which created a snapshot and emailed successfully, the only difference is the original problem with only the 7/1 subscription the only one you see when you look at the "subscription tab" for this report in Reporting services:

I would like to use ISS to extract the user name and email address out of the active directory. I would like to put it in an MS-SQL 2005 table that I can use stored procedures on. I am hoping I can use a query to do it but I understand there is a 1000 entry limit on the extraction of the Active Directory and I have more than 1000. Could someone point me in the right direction please. Thanks.

Lets say for example I have a table named Drier_Lot_Recipients with columns grower_id int, crop_year int, and email_address varchar(100). This table contains users that would like to receive an SSRS report I created on daily basis.
I created the SSRS report and it is deployed on a reporting services server. The name of the report is Drier_Lot_Report.rdl.
I am not sure what would be the best way to go about this. Should I do it all in SSIS or a stored procedure in SQL Server?OR maybe a combination of both.

i am aware that only sysadmin can send attachments using sp_send_dbmail. but the problem is, i don wan my application login to have sysadmin role and wan it to be able to send email with attachments using sp_send_dbmail. i'm using a stored procedure to call sp_send_dbmail, anyway can i impersonate sysadmin inside the stored procedure to execute sp_send_dbmail?

My console applications work for SA and no other user. I can run the Stored procedures used in the console application from Query analyser when logged in with username/password that I am attempting to use for console applications. I am using SQL server authenication. User access permissions look ok in Enterprise Manager. Access is permit for my user.
Any suggestions?

As pointed out in the SQL Express blog recently http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlexpress/archive/2006/11/15/sql-express-sp2-and-windows-vista-uac.aspx (look for the section that starts "Watch out!"), the SQL Express SP2 argument ADDUSERASADMIN will not work correctly if the user is a normal user. If the user is a member of the BUILTINAdministrators group then Vista will prompt to elevate them to allow the Admin rights to be effective.
However, my reading of the blog post is that if they are normal users, Vista will prompt for the Administrator credentials. This effectively runs the install as the Administrator user. So the ADDUSERASADMIN argument works, but adds the Administrator rather than the normal user.
This is not what I need to happen. Is there any way around this? I have a ClickOnce application. Is there any way to restrict the ClickOnce install to require the user to be a member of the BUILTINAdministrator group?

I tried using Query Notification on my computer at home:
* Win XP Pro with all the SPs and hotfixes
* SQL 2005 with SP1 qand hotfix
Query Notification worked fine.
Then I tried using it at work:
* Win XP Pro with all the SPs and hotfixes

computer at home is standalone while the one at work is part of a
domain.

This problem is a bit weird but I'm just wondering if anybody else experienced this.
I have a package that has file system tasks (copying dtsx files actually). Basically the package copies other packages to a pre-defined destination. Thing is, it only works if one of the packages it is configured to copy has some sort of sensitive data (e.g., a connectionstring with a password), otherwise it reports a success message on execution but doesn't actually do anything. I've checked the forcedexecutionresult and it is set to None for that matter.
Just wondering if anybody else experienced this problem and of course if there's a way to solve it.

I am trying to setup a shape, shape attributes and calculate the cross
sectional area using the formula specified in the tbShapes.Formula field.

Now I need to calculate the expression above, but the

In the past I wrote DTS transforms entirely by myself. With SSIS, our team of several developers now wants each member to develop a piece of the same package.
Do SSIS packages support this type of simultaneous multi-developer creation or is it a "one developer at a time" type product?
