Enabling And Disabling Tasks At Run Time Using Expressions Does Not Work Properly

"I wonder why the boolean values Set to "Disable Property" using expressions does not work as expected (though Precedence constraints work fine). I find no way to disable individual task. "
I have a boolen variable V, (False) enabled by default at design time for a task T, I disable T based on a condition (if A ! = 'a') during runtime.
Now first time when I run the Package, Task gets disabled (works fine on the condition given). However T gets permanently disabled even after we stop debug mode, which is not the expected behavior. Further on when you run, it wont work at all.
Is it true that a task disabled at design time cannot be enabled during runtime via expressions ?
If things are working fine in your case, pls let me know what settings are required.

Hello,
I have created around 10 seperate packages for our application data load. Now I am planning to create a master package (or a wrapper package) which will execute all the 10 packages (thru execute package task). Then I have a job which executes the master package at a given date and time.
Question : How can I enable / disable execution of each package within the master package depending upon a flag variable. The reason why I need this mechanism is if the flag = 0 then I don't want all 10 packages within master package to execute and if flag = 1 then master package execution should begin and subsequently execute all packages within that master package.

I have a report that can accept two parameters name or address. So if the user selects the name the dropdown for address should be disabled. if the user select an address the name dropdown should be disables?

I have a report where a particular row may or may not need to drill down, depending on whether or not there is more than one row grouped within it. I was wondering if there is some sort of property I can access that will enable or disable a drill down. I know where to go to do it in the IDE, but this is something that needs to happen at runtime.

Hi folks,
I have come across a situation where there 10 tasks. The second task on the flow is a script task which disables all further tasks based on a condition. I thought that the logic would be better if we force terminate the package successfully at this stage itself. How can this be done.

Hi,
I've my SSIS Packages, having multiple Configuration stored in SQL Server Table named [SSIS Configurations].
And it's devloped on BHUDEV Server ON Devlopmentdb Database. So durring development Default Cofigurations are set for BHUDEV Server.
Problem is that when I install my Package on SQL Server on different Server for example JOHN, and now my database is ProductionDB and [SSIS Configurations] table will be on ProductionDB database. And I've made required changes in [SSIS Configurations] table. So when I run the Package even then it picks configuration information from BHUDEV.Developmentdb.dbo.[SSIS Configurations] table. That's my problem.
But If when during execution time, I change the connection information then it works fine.

Does sseutil work properly on vista? I need a way to programmatically detach a user instance on Vista.
The following launches and runs ok on XP.
Doesn't run on Vista? Is there some problem with Process on Vista? sseutil runs ok from the command line in Vista.

I have defined the UNICODE macro in the project settings.
Now when i am trying to connect to MSSQL Database using this call below

When I specify command with literal value it works fine but when I try to use function or variable installer prompt error message:
SQL Server Setup could not validate the service accounts. Either the service accounts have not been provided for all of the services being installed, or the specified username or password is incorrect. For each service, specify a valid username, password, and domain, or specify a built-in system account.
I don't know why it's wrong and be gracefull for help

Hello all,The followinq qurey returns sometimes values of null to some of this columns, byK,byT,byD. the column F wil not contains any nulls, and 0 will be populated in it at any case of .Now, the problem is that when sorting out F the sort will not work when there is null parameters in byK because teh fact that a 0 values is greater then NULL value, and the sort of F will not take in considiration. I have an expression in a precedence constraint that is returning false when it should return true. This is the expression that returns false:
((5500 / 9990) * 100) > 10
The following expression returns true. I did the division (5500 / 9990) myself and substituted the resulting value:
((0.55055055055055055055055055055055) * 100) > 10
Why is the first expression returning false? I'm stuck in the mud up to my axles on this and I know I'll probably feel like a fool when I learn the answer...

I noticed that The flat file destination that I am using, creates a blank file everytime even if there are no records processed by the data flow.
I just wanted to know if there is any way to stop this. I dont want to see a chunk of blank files on the disk. (I create the files with a timestamp in the file name so every run creates a new file.)
So I want to implement a logic to stop the creation of these blank files in case there are no records to write into it.
Any suggestion would be of great help.

Hello,
I tried to use bookmarks in OLEDB consumer templates and I have problems with using MoveToBookmark. This method sets cursor position correctly on bookmarked row, but it seems to me it doesn't set the right cursor position in DB. When I call MovePrev after MoveToBookmark, I will not get previous row of the bookmarked row.
Simplified Example - I get bookmark of the first row, then move to the 3th row. Call MoveToBookmark (current row is no the first row). But when I call MovePrev I'will not get DB_S_ENDOFROWSET but the second row:
MoveFirst()
bk = GetBookmark()
MoveNext()
MoveNext() // Now I'm on third row
MoveToBookmark(bk)
GetData() - Now I get data from 1st row
MovePrev()
GetData() - Now I get data from the second row!!
All calls to OLEDB returs S_OK.
Does somebody now, whats wrong?

Hallo,
In SSIS Version 9.00.2047.00 I have build a few packages using script tasks. These packages work well in development.
When I try to run them Using DTUtil the systems displays in the Package Excecution Progress-window the message: 'Error: The tasks "reading registry" cannot run on this edition of Integration services. It requires a higher level edition.'
Emptying the script task from its variables and script doesn't make a difference. I did not find an explanation in BOL. Concerning script tasks I only find
The Script task uses VSA as its engine for writing and running scripts. To run a script, you must have VSA installed on the computers where the package runs. But since I even get these messages when I try to run on the machine where I build the package,I guess this can't be the problem.
Any ideas?

I have several sequence containers in one package that fire off execute package tasks. I would like each of the sequence containers to start at the same time when the job starts running. However when I set them up to do that, i get an error that the variable cannot be read because it is locked. I have the variables setup as readonly so not sure why they are being locked. When I run the package and have each sequence container fire off after the previous one ends it runs fine.
Any ideas on how to get around this?

Hi guys,
i have a for each loop and it has about 20 data flow tasks (simple data extractions). i notice when i run the package it only runs up to 4 data flow tasks at a time. others have to wait till one of the first 4 flows finishes.
i was wondering if there's a way to change the limit of how many data flow tasks can run at a time. is there a property some where ?
i know this will be stressfull to the server, but the server is well equiped with CPU power and memory, so performance will not be an issue.
any thoughts?

I have this job that download 4 files once a month from the same server. The files are sizable and I need to download them in less than 5 hours total. In 2000 I use an active x script to generate the ftp script then execute the script. all four files download at the same time in 4 different tasks with no issues.
I am rewrote the process in 2005 so that it uses the IS FTP function but when all 4 ftp tasks kick off they all fail... instantly. the initially shared the same FTP connection manager so I created different ones for each and still the same result
the error is one that relates to changing directories.... Now if I just run one of the tasks it runs fine it is just when more than one try to run at once. I ended up putting in 10 second delays between each ftp task kicking off and it works just fine...
Does this sound like a bug??
Also... I am on SQL 2005 Enterprise SP1 on Windows 2003 enterprise SP1.

I am really stuck on this, if anyone has some insight into this problem
any help would appreciated...
I'll try to explain what is happening the best I can:
We have a server running Windows Advanced Server 2000 (SP4) w/ SQL
server 2000 (SP3) (from now on Server A). I have a publication on this
machine with dynamic filters (Changing the HOST_NAME()). The
publication is sending the snapshots to another machine (desktop
machine). The Mobile agent is in the same machine as the snapshots.
The mobile application is syncing fine when hitting Server A. The sync
is done Asynchronously.
Then we have Server B. Running Windows Server 2003 (SP1) w/ SQL 2000
(SP4), same publication w/ dynamic filter however the snapshots and the
mobile agent are in this server.
The mobile application will sync the 1st time but any subsequent syncs
will not work. I check on the Replication monitor and it tells me that
the Merge was a success but the mobile application will not execute the
download table callback, it will execute the Sync callback 5 times and
not proceed in executing the download table callback.
If I change the configuration on the mobile app to point to Server A
the sync will work just fine but, if I change it back to Server B the
sync will work once then it will stop working.
Anyone have some suggestions for troubleshooting?

I had try calling a function, that call a store procedure, repeatly using a for loop, but I notice it will only get the expected part_id in the first time, and return an empty string sub-sequentially without throwing an exception. So I had try using a sql query instead, but the same thing happen. Below is my function, can you point out to me what's wrong?

I have a table that stores working hrs, such as

So working times can go over midnight, there can be more than one working period in a day etc.
For this staff member the summary of the weeks work will be

23/05/2015 - 16 hrs

Now for the complicated part, a person can take absence(sick,holiday,other) for any part of a day or whole day(s). For these absence periods only the worked time on that day needs to be negated off, not the whole period of time.
So for example
If this person
had a days holiday on the 22nd, shown in the HOLIDAY table as
StaffID,DateFrom, DateTo
969, 22/05/2015 00:00:00.000,22/05/2015 23:59:59.000
A Leave of Absence on the 20th, shown in the LEAVE table as
StaffID,DateFrom, DateTo

And was off sick on the morning of the 19th, shown in the SICKNESS Table as
StaffID,DateFrom, DateTo

Now the Summary table should now show

19/05/2015 - 6 hrs

The 'Leave of Absence' on the 20th had no effect on the total for the day as it was between planned work times. how to do this within T-SQL, as simple as possible as I've got to had this code over to other staff members to maintain, who have not had much SQL experience yet?
I've tried doing it as a temp table, with dual insert/select commands, splitting the times over midnight, which partially worked but missed some of the combinations.

Clean vista install,
Clean full office 2007plus install
Clean visual studio 2008pro install
Many failed sql 2005dev installed, did SKUUPGRADE-1
Now have office2007 Smallbiz, VS2008pro, SqlExpress and sql 2005dev installed.
Note outlook 2007 error on first run after sql2005dev.
Seams to have broken and created a new sql connection, don€™t think its the original.
but that€™s not the current issue !
web admin page error, could not connect to db
I did regsql.exe from the net dir and the web admin work and the db is created for roles and such in vs 2008 via web admin page and mssql.
Managed to create db in apps data folder and modify connection in server explorer.
Added table to aspx page from apps folder and it runs via f5, but errors under localhost.

Have seen some reference to iis permissions, but not sure what to change?
Is it a file level permission, a virtual permission

I change db connection back to sqlexpress to work with db in server explorer!
That breaks localhost, but f5 works
Any ideas?

I was installing application software that was trying to install SQL Server 2005 and received the following error message.
"Setup failed because Service MSSQLServerADHelper is disabled for the current hardware profile. Services must be set with the current Hardware Profile logon property profile enabled."
Simple fix for most but I do not know how to do what it asks.

Hi All,
I'm new to SQL Server Express. But I need to find out how easy it is to create custom types with SQL Server Express because we have to represent house numbers as a custom type in the database. After enabling the CLR integration with the SQL Server Surface Area Configuration tool, I created an SQL Server Project with VS 2005 Pro., created a custom type called HouseNo, deployed it to a database and finally created a table with a column of that custom type. But when I tried to use the option 'Show Table Data' for that table, the following errors always appeared
SQL Execution Error

Error Source : .NET SqlClient Data Provider
Error Message : Execution of user code in the .NET Framework is disabled. Enable "CLR Enabled" configuration Option. -- I think I've already enabled it.
Does anyone know how to solve the problem? Just one more question, for a custom type implementing the IComparable interface, would SQL Server Express uses the CompareTo method to perform sorting?

I am using SQL Server 6.5. By default TCP/IP protocol is not enabled (1433 port is not opened by the server). How can I enable this so that I can use a JDBC driver to connect to it.
In SQL Server 2000, the "SQL Server Network Utility" helps us to enable the TCP/IP protocol. But not able to figure our how/where this can be done in 6.5.

I'm trying to enable the Service Broker for Sql Server 2005 because I want to be able to use a SqlDependency object.
I ran the following query to see if my local sql server service broker was enabled:
SELECT is_broker_enabled FROM sys.databases WHERE name = 'dbname';
It came back with a value of 0 (which means it is not enabled).
I tried executing the following sql command to enable it:
ALTER DATABASE dbname SET ENABLE_BROKER;
The query has been running for over 5 mins and just keeps spinning (should it take this long to enable the Service brfoker), so I cancel it.
I even try to issue the command to see if the service broker is enabled after I cancel the query and it is not enabled.
How can I properly enable the Service Broker?
