I am sync. for the first time (Merge Replication using SQL 2005 and Mobile) and this error keeps poping up on the emulator. I am tring out the tutorial. :) boss on my butt.
Does anyone have any ideas or a solution to this...your help is WELL APPRECIATED ...
plz help me... when establishing a connection to the server. when connecting to server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default setting SQL Server does not allow remote connections.(provider: Named pipes provider, error:40 - could not open a connection to sqlserver)
I have the error above, but no error log. I can preview the sub report - but this main report fails after working this morning. This is for internal company reports and I rebuilt this one after converting from access. I have looked where the error logs should be, but there are no error logs. I rebuilt the query as I needed to change this, but this did not help. Is there someone who could point me in the correct direction.
I'm developing pocket PC application.. when I want to replicate my data from pocket pc to development pc.. I've got this error on my pocket pc.. "An error has occurred on the computer running IIS"
Any ideas? Any help?
I'm using SQl Server 2000, SQL Server CE 2.0, VS.Net 2003
Hi, i was following the tutorial in SQL Mobile Books online "Creating a Mobile Application with SQL Server Mobile ", but when i try to run the application using the pocket PC 2003 emulator, the got the following error, "An error has occurred on the computer running IIS, Try restarting the IIS server.", any idea why?
I have smilar kind of an issue with replication. I had sucessfully done replication with Sqlce2.0 on sql server 2000. In development machine I had VS 2003, sqlce development tools.
Now I use the same code done in VS 2003 into VS2005, it sucessfully converted the code.
In server machine (win 2003) I installed sql server 2000, sql server 2000 service pack 4, SP4 merge replication components, sql server 2005 mobile server tools and .Net framework 2.0. Created pubication sucessfuly. In this machine I configured IIS as per the web synchronization wizard. Gave anyonymous permissions. Virual direcory is created sucessfully. I tested the server agent in IE http://myservername/aliasname/sqlcesa30.dll.
SQL Server Mobile Server Agent 3.0 is shown
My application opened successfuly in windows mobile 5.0 Pocket PC emulator. When try to sync its dislays error "A request to send data to the computer running IIS is failed, see Hrresult"
No firewall in both development and server machines.
The same code works if its sqlce20 perfectly with vs2003 code. Not in this

Hi, I have installed SQL 2000 reporting services 2000 SP2. When i try to print report by clicking print button in HTML tool bar i get error as "Error occured while printing 0x80040005" I have turned on client print log, but there in no useful information
we r using the report viewer control of the reporting service 2000 , and it works fine
but when there is a huge report (around 1000 page) it gives the above error "An Error Occured During Printing (0X80070003)" after spoling of around half of the report around 500 page, and stops spoling the rest of the report
is it a problem with the reporting service or the server hardware ?

I am new learner of ASP.NET and SQL server.So there might be any mistake in writing code. When I tried to run my project I got following error.I am uisng SQL 2005 server. An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) connection string used is <add name ="ConnectionString" connectionString="Data Source=BLUESTAR\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=KnowledgeAssetManagement;Integrated Security=True"/> I have also tried by setting local & remote connection options from the SQL server surface Area Configuration and connections option from server properties of sql server management studio. Please help me ,my work get stucked due this problem.
Hi folks, I have been trying to figure out how to establish a remote connection to a database on SQL Server 2005, but no matter the approach, I'm met with this result: "An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. error:26 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server."
The machine I have the server on is a OS Vista Ultimate, 2 gigs ram, 2.86 GHz processor. I'm trying to access from another 2 types of machines - both laptops with Vista Ultimate.
I have run the configuration tool on the server machine to allow local and remote connections for the database engine, as well for the browser, but to no avail.
I have the developer version of SQL 2005 installed on all three machines, but don't know if that is a reason for not being able to establish a connection.
I've tried to connect via a test application; also via Visual Studio, and also directly from SQL Server on the machines. None of the machines can access the database any of the others, regardless of the configuration.
They all display the very same error.
I'm really in need of some help with this, any ideas?
I have enabled custom authorization in SQL server 2005 reporting services. If i try to view the reports thru report manager by using the url http://localhost/reports then i'm getting the error message as
"An internal error occurred on the report server. See the error log for more details. (rsInternalError) Get Online Help

The event log file is full"
If i try to view the reports by using reportserver url http://localhost/reportserver then its working fine. Please help me in resolving this issue.

Hi all, Our application that uses Reporting Services for it's Reports. On one customers build it appears to keep falling over. Restarting the server seems to resolve the problem for a short period and then it happens again. The exception that is returned to our application is "An unexpected error occured in report processing. (rsInternalError)"
The customer has sent me the log files from C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.1MSSQLDataReporting ServicesLogs
I've tied the time that the issue occurs to this section w3wp!chunks!1!04/11/2008-10:27:35:: e ERROR: GetChunkPointerAndLength: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Database 'ReportServerTempDB' cannot be opened due to inaccessible files or insufficient memory or disk space. See the SQL Server errorlog for details.
I doubt that the disk is full as our database is sitting on the same drive and presumably the whole system would have stopped working by now.
Any thoughts as to what the problem might be? We've not seen this before.
I am running a parent SSIS package (running sp2, 9.0.3042) that calls several child packages.
On our development server, we now cannot run this because we get 1 or more of these errors:
"Error 0x80004003 while preparing to load the package. Invalid pointer . " "Error 0xC0011008 while preparing to load the package. Error loading from XML. No further detailed error information can be specified for this problem because no Events object was passed where detailed error information can be stored. . "
It is not occuring on the same packages. It varies every time it is run.
I can run every one of the child packages individually, using the same login ID that the parent is executed under.
The parent package works fine on my local machine and other servers running the same version of SSIS. Just not on this server.
I have small problem with the ADO 2.6 - 2.8 Command object.
I created a Stored procedure preforming some tasks within a tran.
whitin the tran i'm collecting the @@ERROR values and in the end (after tran closing )generating the correct error string - which will be send back to the caller
in the VB6 app, i'm using a command object with the next line:
Set MyRecordset= MyCommand.Execute
In all the cases and option, when i run the SP - the command preform the tasks and return closed recordset (with the currect answer) and i can't read it.
the only solution that worked until now: i need to call MyRecordset.Open which will requery the SP again and generate an error (User defined error).
It happens only when i run command.execute with SP that preforms multitasks and return result recordset.
I have 2 xp machines one has the SQL EXPRESS Server with all the goodies on it and the other I just install the client stuff. I am using VB 6 to program with using the ADO. It works great on the server machine. The software pulls up great. I can't seem to get it to work on the client machine. I get "Login failed for user 'TIGGERLGuest'. I found the places to set the TCPIP setings on the server SQL Express to allow this even turned on the browser but nothing same error. I am using the same login on both machines and am pointed to the same workgroup. I used window authentication when I set them up. Not sure why it insists on using Guest.
This is a copy of the connection string I am using
Hi all, I'm new to .NET and VB2008 and trying to write my first database application. It runs fine on my development PC (Vista) but I decided to publish/install an early beta to my daughters XP computer and am getting an error reading: Unable to open database.
The CD drive on that pc has been giving us trouble so I deployed to a subdirectory on the dev pc and moved those files to a thumbdrive, copied to the same subdirectory on client pc and installed from there. I've installed it more than once, trying different paths for the installed version hoping that was the issue but have hit a wall. Can anybody help?
Help, Had configuration error trying to set up reporting services. Uninstalled SQL Server and Reinstalled, but not all files were removed. How many files and directories do I have to remove to get Reporting Services to work?

Im getting this error when I try to synchronize my mobile client with SQL Server Compact 3.5 with my SQL Server 2005 database: "Authentication failed at the computer running iis"
Im debugging through a WM5-device in Device Manager 3.0. I have verified that Internet Explorer on the device manager can reach the synchronization agent. But the same credentials that I use there won´t work in my application.
Im using this code for the synchronization.
Dim repl As SqlCeReplication = New SqlCeReplication()
I am currently trying to develop a small Windows Mobile Application with SQL server Mobile edition.
To develop this , I followed this link http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa454892.aspx
As I dint find Vendors.sdf database I created My own Database with student table. My database name is MyDB. I created both Mobile database (.sdf) and the same database in sql server 2005
when I run the application I can update the database upto the mobile with no problem. But when I try to Sync I am facing the following exception at the following code.
private void SyncVendors()
{
if (File.Exists(this.DataFileName))
{
this.SaveData();
_repl.Synchronize(); //exception is raised at this line
this.GetData();
}
else
MessageBox.Show("The subscription database has not yet been created. You must first select the Init Sync menu item.");
}
For the replication I used
private void InitReplication()
{
_repl.InternetUrl = @"http://XXXXXXXX/MyDB/sqlcesa30.dll";\ for security reasons I am not using my system name
_repl.LoginTimeout = 120; //_repl.InternetLogin = "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX?; //Timely I used these 2
//_repl.InternetPassword = "XXXXXX?;
}

I am about designing an access project file that connect to a SQL Server database : it could be either on the local computer or a remote workstation, this depending on where the front end is running.
Bypassing the default log on dialog box i have set my own form that users should use to connect on adp. Then using baseconnection string i connect the adp to sql server database.
My concern is how can i check from vba if the instance of SQL Server where my back end database is located is running in order to make users knowing that due sql server service status off their connection tentative will fail.
inform u i can check same from console management however i would to automate same controle from my adp and avoid that users have to operate such task...
I am trying to complete the BOL sample "Creating a Mobile Application with SQL Server Mobile". Using SQL 2k5 and VS Team Suite. I have the emulator about to get on to the internet and can even get to the http://sqlce.domain.com/sqlmobile/sqlcesa30.dll url but when runing the vb.net code I get the error 28037 "A request to send data to the computer running IIS has failed. For more information, see HRESULT.". Any help would be greatly appreciated. No software firewalls are running. I have a dns entry that points to my laptop for testing. The sync function code is below.
We have developed a Winmobile 5.0 application using VS2005 and Sql 2005 CE. We have successfuly installed the Server Agent on the web server and using the url 'http://websitename/rdatest/sqlcesa30.dll' have received an acknowledgement from the server agent. When we set up the Web Syncronization Wizard we kept things simple and opted for anonymous access. However, our Sql 2005 is based on a separate dedicated server which can be accessed by the web server. Our website, also written in VS2005, uses the following connection string to access the Sql 2005 database for our website.
When using the following code in our PDA application we have tried the above string as well as another interpretation with the same resulting error 'A request to send data to the computer running IIS has failed, for more information please see HResult'. The code we are using is..
Using rda As New SqlCeRemoteDataAccess() Dim sCon As String = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=172.18.22.222; Initial Catalog=Audit ; UserID=steve; Password=letmein" Dim sCon As String = "server=172.18.22.222; database=Audit; uid=steve; pwd=letmein" rda.InternetUrl = "http://websitename/rdatest/sqlcesa30.dll" rda.LocalConnectionString = "Data Source=Program FilesTestSysTestdata.sdf"
Try rda.Pull("Detail", "SELECT Details, Actions FROM Detail", sCon, RdaTrackOption.TrackingOff, "DtlErrors") Catch sqlCeEx As SqlCeException RecError( sqlCeEx.ToString) End Try End Using
Having tried both connection strings we feel the error is caused by something else possibly on our dedicated Sql server. Would really appreciate any help.
I Have an application for Pocket PC 2003 developed in Visual Studio 2003(VB.Net , Smart Device App). I Use Sql Server CE as the database which Synchronizes with Sql Server 2000, SP4. The IIS and the Sql Server 2000 are in different Machines. I Have Installed the proper Sqlserver Ce in the IIS machine and created virtual directory with Basic authentication.I connect my device through Active Sync 3.7. I could browse the sscesa20.dll from Pocket IE and get the ' SQL Server CE Server Agent ' message. The PC to which my pocket PC is connected is under a Proxy.
When I tried the RDA.Pull() , the function fails and returns the error " Error Code: 80072EE7 A request to send data to the computer running IIS has failed. For more information see HRESULT. [,,,,,] Minor Error : 28037 Source: Sql Server 2000 Windows CE Edition. "
The same application works in other network which is not under a proxy.
How can I identify the computer of the person running an SRS report? If I query HOST_NAME() it gives me the host of the reporting server, not the person browsing.So, for example, Melissa opens a browser from computer named AAA to the SRS and pulls up her report. How do I get that report to show that the user is browsing from AAA?
