Hellow,

This is the siuation:
I have on server A SQL 2005
on server B i have SQL 2000

I want to create in a database on server A a view which uses a linked server to get data from server B.
The linked server works fine.

OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "BI_AX_LINK" returned message "Unspecified error".
OLE DB provider "SQLNCLI" for linked server "BI_AX_LINK" returned message "The stored procedure required to complete this operation could not be found on the server. Please contact your system administrator.".

Connection Failed Error Creating Data Source For Server

Mar 1, 2008

Hopefully there's an easy answer for this. I'm totally new to SQL server and I'm trying to upsize an Access database. Whether I use the upsizing wizard or try to create a data source through the ODBC Data Source Administrator, I get a connection failed error. It tells me the server does not exist or my login is incorrect. I'm using NT authentication to connect to the server on my local drive. I just installed the whole 2005 express edition and the only thing that came up during the install was that I didn't have IIS installed. I didn't see how that would be relevant, so I went ahead with the install.

Shouldn't this work with the default setup? I've searched around trying different "solutions" although I doubt they were specifically related to this very basic problem. I tried giving my login every right I could find through in the database engine properties in the server management studio, which connects fine itself with just my network login name and no password. What am I missing?

SQL Server 2012 :: Error Creating Temp Table Based On IF Logic

Nov 13, 2014

I could deploy across my environment, which is a mix of 2008R2/2012 servers, to give some information on log files. Running into a silly issue right off the bat. The table that DBCC LogInfo() conjures out of magic is different between the two. In 2012 it gained the RecoveryUnitID column. So I'm trying to write some logic to create a temp table based on which version is running. I would like to avoid a global temp table if possible. Here's what I've tried:

sp_executesql creates a table outside of the scope of my session:
DECLARE @PrVers NVARCHAR(128)
, @PrVersNum DECIMAL(10,2)
, @StageTable NVARCHAR(1024) = N''

.NET Framework :: Error In Creating CLR Functions Saying Server Is Information Protection Configured

Aug 17, 2011

We have few C# binaries that contains definition of CLR functions, and one stored procedure to install / create them in our database. Recently when dropping and recreating the CLR function using our stored procedure, it failed with below error:

Basically our stored procedure has standard steps to create asymmetric key for each of our C# binary and create login for that key and then grant unsafe assembly permissions to those logins.

It sets show advanced options, clr enabled, and ole automation procedures options. It then using create assembly (for each c# binary with permission_set = unsafe) and create function constructs to create clr functions in SQL server.

I had just installed SQL 2005 dev on my laptop and got an error message when I tried to create a package using the BI IDE. I received the same error using VS2005 IDE. I found a similar post that suggested that they try the following:

regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml4.dll
regsvr32 msxml6.dll

But msxml6.dll could not be found.

I did get a copy of this file from a coworker, and after copying it and registering it, I was able to add a package to the project.

My concern now is what is the likelyhood of this being the only file missing from the installation.

I'm wondering if I should reinstall, or (if it exists) do a repair on the installation.

Thanks.

I have a client who is getting an error when they try to create a report subscription. The error is as follows:

An unexpected error occurred: A subscription delivery error has occurred. ---> A subscription delivery error has occurred. ---> One of the extension parameters is not valid for the following reason: The account you are using does not have administrator priviledges. A subscription cannot be created for [email address].

The thing I find strange is that the client was able to create a shared schedule with no problems, so I don't see how they don't have administrator privileges. The shared schedules and subscriptions are created programmatically through a web application if that is of any importance.

Any ideas on how to fix this error?
