Hello,
I am having a crystal report using datastored in a dataset. When I select one of items in a dropdownlist, it gives me this error message. Note that I used that code before in another web page using a different crystal report and a different dataSet and it worked successfully, but this time it doesn't work....anyone can tell me what causes this error and how to solve it???
NOTE: I am using a vb code behind in my .aspx page

In Management Studio i highlight my query and then click on 'Analyse query in Database Engine Advisor' but i get the following error message: "Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified". Seems like if I reboot my computer it works one time then get the same error on the second time.I'm running developer edition with service pack 2.
I am trying to attach a database to SQL 2005. This database has not previously been attached. I have only just installed SQL.
I get the following message: Unable to open physical file "C:ArrowSQLArr@DataArrow_data.mdf" Operating system error 5: "5(error not found)" (Microsoft SQL Server: Error 5120)".
I have loaded SQL and the database fiel and directory with the same user account which is a local administrator on this machine. I have checked that I have read/write access to the file.
The machine runs Windows Vista Business. SQL has SP 2 loaded. What causes this?
I have an File System Task that copies a file from one directory ot another. When I hard code the target directory (c:dirfile.txt) it works fine. When I change it to a virtual directory (\serverdirfile.txt) I get a security error:
[File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path '\gracehbtest oS2TMM_Live_Title_000002.xml' is denied.".
i have a weird situation here, i tried to load a unicode file with a flat file source component, one of file lines has data like any other line but also contains the character "ÿ" which i can't see or find it and replace it with empty string, the source component parses the line correctly but if there is a data type error in this line, the error output for that line gives me this character "ÿ" instead of the original line.
simply, the error output of flat file source component fail to get the original line when the line contains hidden "ÿ".
This is a problem I encountered when I had to detach a database file (type .mdf):
1) I went to the MS SQL Management Server Studi and detached my database file successfully from a connection called Workhorse.
2) I needed to place the .mdf database file into a zip file in order to put it on a remote server. I did this using Shared Portal. This was also successful
3) However when I tried reattaching the database file, I got this error:
CREATE FILE encountered operating system error 5A(Access denied.) while attempting to open or create the physical file "CProgram FilesMSSQL ServerMSSQLData<databasename>.mdf'
Q) The database file and log file (ldf) exist in the correct directory so I don't know what happened. Can any one help?
i have restored site using stsadm, site get successfully restored. all user of the site able to access the site but the unable to access from same machine on which it is restored. i got the error The file exists. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070050)
I have a bundling package that runs about 20 other packages. It has been working fine for a while but a couple of days ago it fail with the following message,
Error 0x800706BE while loading package file "D:PackagesToradSales.dtsx". The remote procedure call failed.
Im running the SSIS packages in an 64-bit environment.
Can anyone tell me why I am getting this error when I try to view my report:
Query Engine Error: '21000:[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Sever] Subquery returned more than 1 value. This is not permitted when the subquery follows =, !=, <, <=,>,>= or when the subquery is used as an
I have successfully converted a MSVS 2005 Winforms Application into the MSVS 2008 beta 2. I am however having trouble getting the winmobile data tables to fill. The ODBC Paradox tables fill fine. When I converted the application I had to re create the win mobile datasource for the project. So I used the datasource wizard in 2008, it opened the winmobile5 database and told me that I would need to convert the database to 3.5. I let it overwrite the existing database and it created a new .xsd file for me for the project. When I try to load data into the database tables
You are trying to access an older version of a SQL Server Compact 3.5 database. If this is a SQL Server CE 1.0 or 2.0 database, run upgrade.exe. If this is a SQL Server Compact 3.5 database, run Compact/Repair.
I have run Compact but not repair, and still get the same error.
1. What could be left in the project that ismaking it expect to open the 3.0 database instead of the 3.5 that was converted in the datasource wizard?(If I substitute an older database file I get the native error 25010 Invalid File Name. Check the database filename. ) 2. Is there a way after you convert a project to then add a datasource to the project that would use the same xsd file and datasetDesigner.cs from before the conversion ?
I got the sql2005 std edition at the msdn rollout, and the vs2005 studio. I uninstalled sql2000 and now, cannot connect to the database engine.
I get the following error message with a link to an page that offers no info. What's up and how can I get it to work? Please, help.

I have been successfully using SQL Server 2005 developer edition for a couple of months now. However, when I started Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio this morning I could not connect to the Database Engine? (Im using Windows Authentication). I can still connect with the Integration Services? and Analysis Services? on the same server. The server running on my local machine, so there shouldnt be any problems with the network. I am also able to connect with it through ODBC, it just seems to be the Server Management Studio which cant connect, and it only has problems with the Database Engine.? Any help would be appreciated.David
The detailed error message says:
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. I want to move the log location to the E drive because it can get quite large. I already changed the setting in the SQL Server Error and Usage config tool, but this did not seem to make a difference.
I have a backup of DB with version Microsoft sql 2012 and i need restore this data base on instance Microsoft sql 2008 R2 when i try restore database on SQL server 2008 R2 i have the error:
Windows 2000 Server SP4 + SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Editon SP3,RAID5.
the windows event log give the following error information:
I/O error 2(The system cannot find the file specified) detected during write at offset 0x0000010c6c4000 in file 'D:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQLdataGJSZBANK_Data.MDF'.
I have searched microsoft knowledge base and got this article: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;828339
but don't understand some contents in the topic:
For example, if you encounter the following error message in the SQL Server Errorlog file, SQL Server encountered operating system error 2 when it uses a Windows API call to write to the tempdb primary database file:
Error: 823, Severity: 24, State: 4 I/O error 2(The system cannot find the file specified.) detected during write at offset 0x00000000284000 in file 'D:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQLdata empdb.mdf'
Because SQL Server has already successfully opened the file and did not receive an Invalid Handle error, the error is likely being raised in a lower-level kernel software component, such as the file system or a device driver. This problem does not indicate a problem in SQL Server, and it must be investigated as an issue with the file system or a device driver that is associated with the file.
Does that mean this is not a SQL Server error? Does that mean something wrong with my operating system? or something wrong with my hard disk?
I am running SQL 7.0 with Access 97 as a front end. I am having a problem linking one of the tables with an odbc connection. When I try to link the table, it gives me the error :
"The database engine can't find <name of table>. Make sure it is a valid parameter or alias name, that it doesn't include invalid characters or punctuation, and that the name isn't too long."
I have tried renaming the table, and it then will allow the connection, but if I rename it back to the original name, it doesn't work again. The table name is "Invoice_Line_Item". Changing the name permanently is not an option.
Has anyone else run across this problem, or know of a fix for it.
I am trying to take backup on network folder but I am getting below error:

I have a very irritating error with Database Engine Tuning Advisor. While processing traces from Sql Profiler I keep getting trace log full of syntax error of most of queries - some of them very simple and ALL of them perfectly correct ( I check them separatly in QueryAnaliser ) - program gives recomendtation when I enter queries one by one - in that case the syntax is correct for Database Engine Tuning Advisor, but I just can't imagine why quries given to analysis in the set aren't correct? I dont' want to enter trace query by query (while I have thousends of them) !
It all seem like a Database Engine Tuning Advisor bug, any ideas about this problem?

Hi, though i've been using sql server 2000 developer edition for awhile, I guess i overlooked the fact that the full-text search tool was never installed and i never needed it until now. Anyway, tried installing it today and get this error:
Installation of Microsoft Full-Text Search Engine Package Failed (-2147220991) 0x80040201 An event was unable to invoke any of the subsribers
I have no idea what this means - can you help me to get this installed correctly? I did just install service pack 4, and i tried reinstalling the components, tried rebuilding the registery of the current instance, and even tried creating a new instance with hopes that the new instance would install the full-text component - which it did not.
Any suggestions? Maybe I have to unistall the entire Software and reinstall it? Would I lose any of my data in doing this? I should note that all other tools seem to function fine.
I am trying to make my maintenance plan to backup on a remote server but it fails with:
"failed with the following error: "xp_delete_file() returned error 2".
I am pretty sure its because it doesnt have full access to the share folder... My question is, how can I grant access to it, if I am using a local account as sql agent service: NT ServiceSQLSERVERAGENT.I need to change the service account?
I have a SQl2k8 R2 up and running on a win2k8 R2, I have a domain controller as well with AD 2k8 R2. It works fine but from time to time I receive a dozen of successive alerts like th folowing

I understand from some threads here that it is an issue related to contacting the AD. In event viewer it is not clear what is casuing this. I have WSS databases, Biztalk server databases.....and some other user databases. NO home made applications contact sql server.
What is the best route to follow to see who is not being able sometimes and why contacting the AD. I read the thread at URL.... but it is related to express 2005 and it does not apply to my case.
Backing up all databases on a sql server that hosts secondary high availability databases as well as other databases. The other databases back up fine, but the high availability secondaries all get the same error:

TFS is unable to connect to SQL server. Was working fine and has been for months. Today the backup tool failed due to the tempdb being maxing out c: space.Ran the following command, then restarted.
I am running a huge SSRS 2008 report and it gets rendered sometimes and sometimes it gives me an error,"The report execution has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound)”.
When I see SQL Server log after this issue comes I see following message there; "A significant part of sql server memory has been paged out. This may result in performance degradation. Duration: 300 seconds. Working set(KB): 97672, memory utilization 42%" .what is the issue and how to fix it.
I have a database that has had a full text index at some point in it's history - but no longer does. The database is currently at SQL 2012 compatibility, but it was created on SQL2000. It still appears to have a row in the internal table sys.sysftinds - but some of the column values are NULL, and NULLs are not allowed. The database fails DBCC checks because of this.

Running DBCC with repair_allow_data_loss has not worked.
Hi, I've just tried to install SQL Server 2005 Standard and I'm getting an error that I can't find any information on. In the log, I find Error 29503. A message after it indicates that it couldn't start the server.
