It's working well. I would like to modify one thing. I would like to chang ethe constant in the where condition, so that it is configurable. That is, I would like to store the constant somewhere (SSAS or relational SQL). I was reading the DMX reference, but it doesn't provide much details about the where's "condition expression". And I looked at a document called "OLE DB for Data Mining Specification version 1.0" of July 2000, which does have in Appendix B the SELECT grammar. There it has
Is there a way to adjust a date and time depending on the users locale before inserting into the database?
Users login in and their country of residence is stored in the database on signup. My server is in the US and I want to reset part of the users db record when it's the end of the day in their country so I need to enter the date and time into the db plus or minus the time difference, is there a function written to do this already or would i need to write my own?

This is my piece of code which is trying to put the data in the output buffer (ProcessInput function).
I need to import some data into a table that is in a merge bi-directional publication. The table has an identity column that is being "auto managed". The ID numbers I need to import are not within any of the assigned "ranges". They are less than any of the current ranges.
Turning ident_insert on does not work because of the check constraints error. The merge replication triggers validate the ID range as well.
Edit: using SQL 2005 standard publisher and subsciber. Publication is 2005.
I need to group data in a sql report by currency values. I have a report that shows part numbers and 4 columns making up manufacturing costs and then a 5th column showing total costs. I would like to add a 6th column that groups the total costs by ranges. The example would be, group all costs > 20000, group all costs 1000 > x > 20000 , and finally all costs < 1000.
I'm using SQL Server 2000 sp2...I have created a view that gives me customer info from which I need to create a view and or table that gives me a 24 monthly columns of the sum of each account_number monthly revenues (going back 24 months from this month)..The columns I'm pulling from are these:
Here's what I have so far: ---------------------------- SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT Account_number, Customer_Name, SUM(Order_net_price) AS 'CM - 24' FROM dbo.Customer_Feed WHERE (First_insert_date >= DATEADD(mm, DATEDIFF(mm, 0, GETDATE()) - 24, 0)) AND (First_insert_date < DATEADD(mm, DATEDIFF(mm, 0, GETDATE()) - 23, 0)) GROUP BY Account_number, Customer_Name ORDER BY Account_number
I've basically hacked out a way to get the monthly totals for each account. What I would like to do is so be able to repeat the query but increment the date range 1 month until reaching the present or last FULL month and display these sums in individual columns named CM - n (where CM means current month and 'n' is the # of months back from current.how to make this query run over again the 23 other times I need it to and display those months sum totals in individual columns.
Hi,I need to create a partition table but the column on which I need tocreate a partition may not have any logical ranges. So while creatingor defining partition function I can not use any range.likeCREATE PARTITION FUNCTION my_part_func (NUMERIC(7)) AS RANGE LEFT FORVALUES (1,100,1000);Is there any way to define partition function in SQL Server somethinglike Oracle HASH partitions where logical range is unkown?ThanksSameer
Our database defines the long_value column as nvarchar(max). I want to find out which rows actually contain non-ASCII characters in that column, but this clause also returns rows with only ASCII characters:where long_value like (N'%[' + nchar(128) + N'-' + nchar(65535) + N']%')
I have column which stores People count based on department, Now I want to keep them in the batch of 1000, If the running summary of (No of people) from departments reached 1000 then it should start sum(no of people) from 0 to 1000
Is there any running summary kind of function which can start sum record with in range of 0-1000
For Ex. My Data stored like this Dept People Count CSE 200 IT 250 EEE 312 ECE 214 MEC 337
Batch Grouping Dept People Count BatchSum CSE 200 200 IT 250 450 EEE 312 762 ECE 214 976 MEC 337 337 (Note here since its crossing 1000, its resetting and starting summary)
I implemented this with While Loop & if condition, But its very slow, is there any other way to achieve it in better way.
I have several databases to deal with, all with + 250 tables. The databases are not identical and do not conform to a specific naming convention for table names. Most but not all tables have a column called "LastUpdated" containing a date/time (obviously). I'd like to be able to find all rows within a whole database (table by table) where the date/time is greater than a specified date/time.
I'm looking for a reliable query that will return all the rows in each of the tables but without me having to write hundreds of individual scripts "SELECT * FROM [dbo.xyz] WHERE LastUpdated > '2015-01-01 09:00:00:000'", or have to look through each table first to determine which of them has the LastUpdated field.
This is the code I have written and I am trying to retrieve minimum count of PQpageId for every hour for a given date of range.
WITH CTE AS ( SELECT PQIM.PQPageID ,PQIM.PageURL as PageDescription ,CONVERT(Date,NCPI.RequestDateTime) AS [Date] ,DATEPART(HOUR,NCPI.RequestDateTIme) AS [HOUR] ,ISNULL (COUNT(NCPI.PQPageID),0)AS HourlyPQPageIdCount FROM dbo.NewCarPurchaseInquiries AS NCPI WITH (NOLOCK)
For ex: Pqpageid 1, at 8am on date 4-11-2015 has a count of 2359 and on 9-11-2015 at 8 am it has count 54then it should return date 9-11-2015 and count 54 for hour 8 like wise for every pageid and hour from 8 to 23 it should return the min count from given date of range.

Any ideas how can I pass date range values from the where clause of an outer query to the inner correlated subquery ... without using a stored procedure because I am using Report Builder?
Using the simplified sql below I need the average freight charge between the dates for all of the ShipCountry's orders. (I have hard coded the dates for demo purposes only as it is these that I need referenced from the outer query's where clause.)

I am using SQL 2005 SP2. I have a table partitioned on date range. I am trying to SWITCH, MERGE and SPLIT partitions. My SWITCH and MERGE work great. When the SPLIT query is executed, an error 9002 is thrown....
"The transaction log for database is full. To find out why space in log cannot be resued, see log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases."
Below are more details...
- All SWITCH, MERGE and SPLIT are executed in one TRANSACTION. - After SWITCH and MERGE, I execute a query set the partition scheme "NEXT USED [PRIMARY]". - Finally i execute SPLIT statement.
I am attempting to write a SQL query that retrieves info processed between two times (ie. 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm) during a date range (ie. 8/1/06 to 8/14/06)... I am new to SQL and am perplexed... I have referenced several texts, but have not found a solution. Even being pointed in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!!
Hi all i have setup merge replication with one publisher and 3 subscribers
The replication worked fine for about 2 months then i recieved the following error on all my subscriptions
The Publisher failed to allocate a new set of identity ranges for the subscription. This can occur when a Publisher or a republishing Subscriber has run out of identity ranges to allocate to its own Subscribers or when an identity column data type does not support an additional identity range allocation. If a republishing Subscriber has run out of identity ranges, synchronize the republishing Subscriber to obtain more identity ranges before restarting the synchronization. If a Publisher runs out of identit (Source: MSSQL_REPL, Error number: MSSQL_REPL-2147199417) Get help: http://help/MSSQL_REPL-2147199417

I am embedding the ReportViewer in an aspx page and the report comes up fine, but when I press the "Next Page" or "Last Page" buttons, I get the error: "Page navigation is out of range".
The application has session state turned off. The problem occurs whether or not the viewstate for ReportViewer is turned on or off.
Hi all,I am getting this error when insert values from one table to another inthe first table the values are varchar (10). In the second they aredatetime. If I just select this all Iget all data I need. When doing insert I get a message:Server: Msg 242, Level 16, State 3, Line 1The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted inan out-of-range datetime value. The statement has been terminated. If I execute just first part of the query before first union, I insertdata fine:INSERT INTO Campaign (CampaignID, Name, DateStart, DateEnd, ParentID,ListID)SELECT mysqlfactiva.dbo.campaigns.campaign_id AS CampaignID,mysqlfactiva.dbo.campaigns.campaign_name AS Name,MIN(mysqlfactiva.dbo.programs.start_date) AS DateStart,MIN(mysqlfactiva.dbo.programs.end_date) AS DateEnd,NULL AS ParentID,NULL AS ListIDFROM mysqlfactiva.dbo.campaigns, mysqlfactiva.dbo.programsWHERE mysqlfactiva.dbo.campaigns.campaign_id =mysqlfactiva.dbo.programs.campaign_idGROUP BY mysqlfactiva.dbo.campaigns.campaign_id,mysqlfactiva.dbo.campaigns.campaign_name,mysqlfactiva.dbo.campaigns.descriptionAs soon as I use union I get the above error. This is very strangesince even when I execute the query using first union where the datescome from the same table 'programs' I get the error. Why I can insertfrom programs first time and can's second time?Any help will be appreciated. Thanks,Stan
I am unable to migrate any DTS packages, from a SQL Server 2000 package, from a structured storage file, or from a DTS package imported into SQL2005 (Developer Edition, 32 bit). Running the Package Migration Wizard, every time I get to the List Package screen, i get the error below. I haven't found any other mention of this so far. Anyone else seen this error or have suggestions?

I have a execute sql task which insert data into a table, but before that I need to make sure no data is available for particular date. we have a table where we are defining date for which date we want to data, and we are fetching that particular date using ssis variable 'Date'. today I was trying to load data dor '2015-05-10'. But it gave me error like '[Execute SQL Task] Error: "Value does not fall within the expected range.'. Below are the my execute sql task query:

Our business get orders through the week with the weekends (Fri & Sat) orders being higher than weekdays. Im wanting to graph this years data with last years and possible the years before but to compare days in such a way that the all the weekdays line up. so comparing 2015 week 1 with 2014 week 1 but with 03/01/2015 (Sat) lining up with 04/01/2014 (Sat) etc.
I'm looking for alternatives to adding or removing days from the dates to solve this issue, i have a date dimension table for the past 5 years that i can use to compare calendar week 201401 with calendar week 201501 but I am finding it a bit inflexable.

I have 2 tables, one is table A which stores Resources Assign to work for a certain period. The structure is as below

The table B stores the item process time. The structure is as below
Item ProcessStartDate ProcessEndDate V 2015-04-01 09:30:10.000 2015-04-01 09:34:45.000 Q 2015-04-01 10:39:01.000 2015-04-01 10:41:11.000 W 2015-04-01 11:44:00.000 2015-04-01 11:46:25.000 A 2015-04-01 16:40:10.000 2015-04-01 16:42:45.000 B 2015-04-01 16:43:01.000 2015-04-01 16:45:11.000 C 2015-04-01 16:47:00.000 2015-04-01 16:49:25.000
I need to select the item which process in 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and 2015-04-01 17:30:00. Beside that I need to know how many resource is assigned to process the item in that period of time. I only has the start date is 2015-04-01 16:40:00 and end date is 2015-04-01 17:30:00. How I can select the data from both tables. There is no need for JOIN, just seperate selections.
Another item process time is in 2015-04-01 10:00:00 and 2015-04-04 11:50:59.
The result expected is

I am getting an error importing a csv file both using SSIS and SSMS. The csv is comma delimited with quotes for text qualifiers. The file gets partially loaded and then gives me an error stating The column delimiter for column "MyColumn" was not found. I am using SQL Server 2008.

Hello,I'm getting the following error message when I try add a row using aStored Procedure."The identity range managed by replication is full and must be updatedby a replication agent".I read up on the subject and have tried the following solutionsaccording to MSDN without any luck.(http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/304706 )sp_adjustpublisheridentityrange (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa239401(SQL.80).aspx ) has no effectFor Testing:I've reloaded everything from scratch, created the pulications from byrunning the sql scripts generated, created replication snapshots andstarted the agents.I've checked the current Identity values in the Agent Table:DBCC CHECKIDENT ('Agent', NORESEED)Checking identity information: current identity value '18606', currentcolumn value '18606'.I check the Table to make sure there will be no conflicts with theprimary key:SELECT AgentID FROM Agent ORDER BY AgentID DESC18603 is the largest AgentID in the table.Using the Table Article Properties in the Publications PropertiesDialog, I can see values of:Range Size at Publisher: 100,000Range Size at Subscribers: 100New range @ percentage: 80In my mind this means that the Publisher will assign a new range whenthe Current Indentity value goes over 80,000?The Identity range for this table cannot be exhausted! I'm not surewhat to try next. Please! any insight will be of great help!Regards,Bm
