Error In OLE DB Command Task

Hi all,
After applying the SP2 for Korean - we are getting the following error in the above task.
Transfer Fact Data From StagingDB to Presentation DB: Insert Update MetricFact [1021]: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "'OPTIMIZE' ??? ??? ???????.".
Not sure what the problem is. The same task was running properly before applying the SP2.
For other language SP2 (on other languages) the same task runs correctly and without any error.

hi,
I am having trouble executing a DB2 stored procedure using OLE DB command task.
The stored procedure takes 2 paramters.
1. filename 2. logfilename
filename - servernamefoldername extfilename
logfilename - servernamefoldernamelogfilename
Both are user defined variables with data type string. i created 2 dervied columns FILE and LOG to pass these values.
FILE takes the filename value
LOG takes the logfilename value
When I execute it gives me the following errors.
[OLE DB Command 1 [77]] Error: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80004005. An OLE DB record is available. Source: "IBM OLE DB Provider for DB2" Hresult: 0x80004005 Description: "[DB2/NT] SQL0811N The result of a scalar fullselect, SELECT INTO statement, or VALUES INTO statement is more than one row. SQLSTATE=21000 ".
[DTS.Pipeline] Error: The ProcessInput method on component "OLE DB Command 1" (77) failed with error code 0xC0202009. The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.
[DTS.Pipeline] Error: Thread "WorkThread0" has exited with error code 0xC0202009.
Can anyone please help me resolve this issue.
I can execute the SP using execute sql task but the problem is I need to pass the rejected rows to a reject table for logging purposes. thts why am tryin the OLE DB command.

The SQL query takes about 4 minutes to execute in SQL Management Studio. But when I run it from the Script Task using the OleDBCommand, I got the timeout error in 40 seconds. The timeout setting on the SSIS DB connection is 0. I do not see how to set the timeout for an SSIS task. Any thoughts on this problem? TIA.

Hi,
I developed a custom data flow task in .net 2.0 using Visual Studio 2005. I installed it into GAC using GACUTIL and also copied it into the pipeline directory. This task runs absolutely fine when I run it on my local machine both in BIDS and using the script in windows 2000 environment. However, when I deployed this package into a windows 2003 server, the package fails at the custom task level. I checked the GAC in windowsassembly directory and it is present. Also I copied the file into the PipeLine directory and verified that I copied it into the correct pipeline directory by checking the registry. The version of the assembly is still Debug. I looked up documentation in MSDN but there is very little information about the errors I am seeing.
The error I get is pasted below, Can somebody please help me as I am currently stuck and running out of ideas to fix this problem.

Hi All,
i am using a OLE DB Source in my dataflow component and want to select rows from the source based on the Name I enter during execution time. I have created two variables,
enterName - String packageLevel (will store the name I enter)
myVar - String packageLevel. (to store the query)
I am assigning this query to the myVar variable, "Select * from db.Users where (UsrName = " + @[User::enterName] + " )"
Now in the OLE Db source, I have selected as Sql Command from Variable, and I am getting the variable, enterName,. I select that and when I click on OK am getting this error.
Error at Data Flow Task [OLE DB Source [1]]: An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E0C.
An OLE DB record is available. Source: "Microsoft SQL Native Client" Hresult: 0x80040E0C Description: "Command text was not set for the command object.".
Can Someone guide me whr am going wrong?
myVar variable, i have set the ExecuteAsExpression Property to true too.
Please let me know where am going wrong?

Hi. I am writing a program in C# to migrate data from a Foxpro database to an SQL Server 2005 Express database. The package is being created programmatically. I am creating a separate data flow for each Foxpro table. It seems to be doing it ok but I am getting the following error message at the package validation stage:

I am working with an odd FTP site that is using a custom pointer file (denoted by a .LMP) extension to provide pointers to dynamic data. To understand the gist, the FTP site will have a list such as:
FileName Size
SomeFile.gz.lmp 0 bytes
In order to obtain the actual file, they want me to run the following command (in BINARY mode only):
GET SomeFile.gz
If I run this command from an command prompt, the file downloads after a few seconds with a size around 3 or 4 MB.
So I need to connect to an FTP site inside of an SSIS project, grab all of the files, strip off the .LMP extension and then perform a GET on each file (RETR does not work). The nI have to gunzip each file prior to finally accessing the connects therein.
Is there any way of accomplishing this task within SSIS or do I have to create some separate shell application?

Just a quick question, I've got an execute SQL task in the control flow and just want to know if anyone knows how to make it time out like you can do with OLEDB commands in the data flow. if it's sitting there waiting for something I want it to fail after x seconds.

Hi, I need to send a table data into flat and then ftp into different location.
I was using xp_cmdshell via sql task but my network engineer is saying that this xp_cmdshell will break the security and recomond to use "Execute Process Task". If i'm using this task getting the below error.
Could you advice me regrding network engineer thought and any solution for avoiding this error.

In one of my interfaces,i am trying to Stage data in a ##table from a Flat file,so that i can iterate through the data in for each loop afterwards.
I have written a stored Proc to do this.But what i am observing is in the ##Table only the last Row will be persisted.

I'm very new to SSIS and I€™m trying to do the following in a SQL task
RESTORE DATABASE @DatabaseName FROM DISK = @Backup WITH FILE = 1, MOVE @OldMDFName TO @NewMDFPath, MOVE @OldLDFName TO @NewLDFPath, NOUNLOAD, REPLACE, STATS = 10
I'm using an OLE DB connection and I have mapped user variables to the various parameter names. Unfortunately when i test the above command it fails on must declare the scalar variable "@DatabaseName". How can i get my values to be substituted into the command?

After setting up the linked server connection at the standby server, Itried to xcopy a file through the sql server 2000 schedule task to thestandby server's shared directory. I am having a problem on updating data in DB2 target table.
I followed BJ Custard's (http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=1058272&SiteID=1&mode=1)(thanks amillion!) post and configured OLEDB destination to insert data. But I have to also update or delete data from the target table based on flag from source.
I tried using OLEDB command which uses the OLEDB connection created by following the steps posted in above link.
Trail 1real requirement):
When I used the SQL query:
delete from table where Col1=? and Col2=?
I am unable to map to the parameters. When I click refresh button after writing the query, I get "There is a data source column with no name. Each data source column must have a name." message. Added to before message, there are no parameters to map to.
Trail 2:
When I hard code the parameters :
delete from table1 where Col1='abc' and Col2='xyz'
no parameters will come up, so no mapping. So when I execute the mapping I get the following error:
Error: 0xC0202009 at Load .....................................................: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_OLEDBERROR. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x80040E00.
Lookup on above error codes show those are related more to target Db2 database.
I am sure some one might have used the OLEDB command task, not only just insert task.
Any help is really appreciated.

I have a ForEachLoop parent pkg that reads thru the file system of dtsx to be executed.
I would like to pass CLI parms to the command itself (dtexec). I'm not looking at passing values to the child pkgs but rather additional command line values such as:
/CONFIGFILE "C:myconfig.dtsConfig.
In my expression builder for the PackageName I added the additional string but during the execution, the reference to my dtsconfig is ignored without any errors and the child pkg runs using the default values provided at design time.
@[User::PackageToRun] + " /CONFIGFILE C:\myconfig.dtsConfig ".
How does one add additional CL values during the runtime for Execute Package Task?

I receive the following error message when I try to use the Bulk Insert Task to load BCP data into a table:
Error: 0xC002F304 at Bulk Insert Task, Bulk Insert Task: An error occurred with the following error message: "Cannot fetch a row from OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)".The OLE DB provider "BULK" for linked server "(null)" reported an error. The provider did not give any information about the error.The bulk load failed. The column is too long in the data file for row 1, column 4. Verify that the field terminator and row terminator are specified correctly.Bulk load data conversion error (overflow) for row 1, column 1 (rowno).".

In SSMS I am able to issue the following command and the data loads into a TableName table with no error messages:
BULK INSERT TableName
FROM 'C:DataDbTableName.bcp'
WITH (DATAFILETYPE='widenative');
What configuration is required for the Bulk Insert Task in SSIS to make the data load? BTW - the TableName.bcp file is bulk copy file as bcp widenative data type. The properties of the Bulk Insert Task are the following:
DataFileType: DTSBulkInsert_DataFileType_WideNative
RowTerminator: {CR}{LF}
Any help getting the bcp file to load would be appreciated. Let me know if you require any other information, thanks for all your help.

In my SSIS Data Flow Task, I have a query that retrieves data based on a couple of date parameters. Is there a way we can pass/use the Variables defined in the SSIS package in the query ?
(I am assigning values to those variables from C# code)
The query should look like this:

Hi,
I am trying to create a simple BI Application for SSIS. In Visual Studio 2005 I just get a Data Flow Task from the toolbar and add it to the project. When I double click it I get the following error:
The task with the name "Data Flow Task" and the creation name "DTS.Pipeline.1" is not registered for use on this computer.
Then when I try to delete it it gives this other error:
Cannot remove the specified item because it was not found in the specified Collection.
I am creating this application in an administrator account in this computer, so I doubt the problem is related to permissions. I am running SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 in WinXP Tablet PC Edition.
Any suggestions why this is happening and how to fix it?

Hi,
I'm trying to get a record count out of a databse using OLE DB Source and row count tasks but keep getting an error. I set up a variable as int32 and select the variable name in the row count task and when I go to the Input Columns tab to select a field to count, it gives me this error:
Error at Data Flow Task[Row Count[505]]: The component "Row Count" (505) has forbidden the requested use of the input column with lineage ID 32.
I don't even know what this means?

I'm trying to execute a simple VBS file from the Executable command line in the Execute Process Task Editor.
My line is this : cscript.exe "c:convertcsvssisXlsToCsv.vbs"
SSIS keeps saying there are illegal characters here. Â I've Googled and looked about 20 articles and I can't resolve it.
I have a ForEach that loops through Excel files and changes them to CSV files using code i found. This script takes an original Excel file and transfers it to a new CSV file in a new directory.
So in DOS at the CMD line I would type : XlsTocsv.vbs originalfile.xls newfile.csv
I have the original file and new file in the Arguments line so I'm assuming that after the script executes it will look at the filepaths in the loop and loop through them so I want it do to this when it runs:
XlsTocsv.vbs [User::@ExcelFile] [User::@CSVFile]
I just can't get it to execute and I keep getting illegal characters. Â

I want to call "oracle" stored procedure with output parameter from SSIS ole db command task.
Actually I am able to successfully call the procedure but my Output value is not updating in the mapped column.

I have an File System Task that copies a file from one directory ot another. When I hard code the target directory (c:dirfile.txt) it works fine. When I change it to a virtual directory (\serverdirfile.txt) I get a security error:
[File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path '\gracehbtest oS2TMM_Live_Title_000002.xml' is denied.".
Where do I change the security settings?

I cannot execute a package by using Execute Package task.
I supplied sa credentials to connection manager, and it shows the list of Packages on SQL Server but when running the task it says
Error 0xC0202009 while preparing to load the package. An OLE DB error has occurred. Error code: 0x%1!8.8X!.
Any clue ?

I'm trying to use an XML Task to do a simple XSLT operation, but it fails with this error message:
[XML Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "There are multiple root elements. Line 5, position 2.".
The source XML file validates fine and I've successfully used it as the XML Source in a data flow task to load some SQL Server tables. It has very few line breaks, so the first 5 lines are pretty long: almost 4000 characters, including 34 start-tags, 19 end-tags, and 2 empty element tags. Here's the very beginning of it:

<ESDU releaselevel="2006-02" createdate="26 May 2006"><package id="1" title="_standard" shorttitle="_standard" filename="pk_stan" supplementdate="01/05/2005" supplementlevel="1"><abstract><![CDATA[This package contains the standard ESDU Series.]]></abstract>
There is only 1 ESDU root element and only 1 package element.
Of course, the XSLT stylesheet is also an XML document in its own right. I specify it directly in the XML Task:

Its 5th line is the first xsl:template element.
What is going on here? I do not see multiple root elements in either the XML document or the XSLT stylesheet.

I have small problem with the ADO 2.6 - 2.8 Command object.
I created a Stored procedure preforming some tasks within a tran.
whitin the tran i'm collecting the @@ERROR values and in the end (after tran closing )generating the correct error string - which will be send back to the caller
in the VB6 app, i'm using a command object with the next line:
Set MyRecordset= MyCommand.Execute
In all the cases and option, when i run the SP - the command preform the tasks and return closed recordset (with the currect answer) and i can't read it.
the only solution that worked until now: i need to call MyRecordset.Open which will requery the SP again and generate an error (User defined error).
It happens only when i run command.execute with SP that preforms multitasks and return result recordset.
CAN ANY ONE HELP ME

I am executing a StorProc using the OLE DB Command with the Error row redirect option. I am using TRY -- CATCH block to catch the error in SP and throw it back using RAISERROR statement. In this case, OLEDB Command Component does not redirect error row instead stopping the package execution. But this is not case if the I dont use the RAISERROR statement. Why OLE DB command behaving diffrently on RaiseError Statement? Can you guys help me out?

I'm having an SSIS package which gives the following error when executed :
Error: 0xC002F210 at Create Linked Server, Execute SQL Task: Executing the query "exec (?)" failed with the following error: "Syntax error or access violation". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.Task failed: Create Linked Server
The package has a single Execute SQL task with the properties listed below :
General Properties
Result Set : None
ConnectionType : OLEDB
Connection : Connected to a Local Database (DB1)
SQLSourceType : Direct Input
SQL Statement : exec(?)
IsQueryStorePro : False
BypassPrepare : False
Parameter Mapping Properties
variableName Direction DataType ParameterName
User::AddLinkSql Input Varchar 0
'AddLinkSql' is a global variable of package scope of type string with the value
Exec sp_AddLinkedServer 'Srv1','','SQLOLEDB.1',@DataSrc='localhost',@catalog ='DB1'
When I try to execute the Query task, it fails with the above error. Also, the above the sql statement cannot be parsed and gives error "The query failed to parse. Syntax or access violation"
I would like to add that the above package was migrated from DTS, where it runs without any error, eventhough
it gives the same parse error message.
I would appreciate if anybody can help me out of this issue by suggeting where the problem is.

This error occurs when the ActiveX task tries to execute:
[ActiveX Script Task] Error: Retrieving the file name for a component failed with error code 0x001B6438.
Anybody know how to troubleshoot these errors? I can't find anything on this error code. The same script works in DTS.

i m getting the following ERROR:
[Execute SQL Task] Error: An error occurred while assigning a value to variable "JDETimezone": "Unable to find column Timezone in the result set.".
i know what the problem is i.e. no row is returned then what is the problem
here you are.... i want to it work... strange... ok i explain...
actully i have some processign to do with variable JDETimezone even no row is returned.... can u tell me the alternative to do the follwing task...
I want to retrieve a record from some table and do some processing and if no row is present or returned then i want to do seperate processing.... can ne one help me out ?

I have two SQL servers onr is staging (SQL2005) the other is production (SQL2000). I have a primary key with constraints on a table and I script out the Create for the primary key with constraints. I run the generated T-SQL script on the staging (SQL2005) and it works great. No probs so far. Now I cut and paste the same generate T-SQL script into my production (SQL2000) server and I get this error...
Msg 170, Level 15, State 1, Line 2
Line 2: Incorrect syntax near '('.
Now this is the same exact cut/paste of the script that ran perfectly fine on my SQL2005 server. So I copied it agan from production (SQL2000) and pasted it into staging (SQL2005) and it works.

Hi,
when we are using OLEDB Command we are getting the following error?
when we use sql server as the source its working fine .but its throwing error when we try to connect the orcale database .
Error at Data FLOW TASk[OLE DB Command[3863]]: An OLE DB error has occured :0x80040E51.
An OLE DB record is available. Source : "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle" Hresult: 0x80040E51
Description: "Provider cannot derive parameter information and SetParameterInfo has not been called.".
