We have a database at a network location that we allow many of our employee's to access. They all have the same settings however a few of them return a Failure Audit in System event viewer log occasionally. It is not every time they access the database. Below is a copy of the details. Any ideas what could be causing this?
I see this error message on one of my servers Event Viewer..Can anyon tell me what it means and how to resolve it..
The library file "C:WINNTSystem32BEPerfDll.dll" specified for the "Backup Exec" service could not be opened. Performance data for this service will not be available. Status code is data DWORD 0.
Can anyone tell me what this warning message in the Quotes below... I get this on one of our servers every 15 minutes in the event Viewer..
Here is the message in the event Viewer.. "Replication of license information failed because the License Logging Service on server PSNJRPDC could not be contacted."

How do I prevent SQL Server 2000 from posting successful backupcompletion messages to the Windows 2000 Application Event Log?I have scheduled jobs which backup my transaction logs on 50+ databasesand it always writes to the Windows 2000 application event log uponcompletion.Due to the frequency of the jobs it only takes a day for theApplication Log to fill up, which is causing other jobs to get hung upwhen trying to write to it. On my Windows 2000 server, I have theapplication log event viewer setting correctly set as:"When maximum log size is reached - Overwrite events as needed" but forsome reason this setting no longer applies like it did for the pastthree years. SQLServerAgent and MSSQLSERVER both run under a localAdmin account, without a domain. When I researched how prevent SQL Server from logging this type ofmessage, I found that I can use sp_update_alert to disable thismessage, but I cannot findthe message_id to correctly disable this message. In sysmessages, themessage I am trying to suppress iserror:18265severity:10dlevel:128description:Log backed up: Database:%1, creation date(time): %2(%3), first LSN: %4, last LSN: %5, number ofdump devices: %7!d!, device information: (%8).mslangid:1033I tried calling sp_update_alert as follows:exec sp_update_alert @name = 'Log backed up: Database: %1, creationdate(time): %2(%3), first LSN: %4, last LSN: %5, number of dumpdevices: %7!d!, device information: (%8).', @enabled = 0but got the error message:Server: Msg 14262, Level 16, State 1, Procedure sp_update_alert, Line105The specified @name ('Log backed up: Database: %1, creation date(time):%2(%3), first LSN: %4, last LSN: %5, number of dump devices: %7!d!,device inf') does not exist.Looks like it can only handle 128 characters. How can I disable this message from being logged in the ApplicationLog? Or alternatively, how can I get the event viewer to behave asexpected and"Overwrite events as needed"?Thanks,Mike Orlando
I have almost finished to design my Service Broker application and I found out something strange.
I was tring to handle the Target queue disabled scenario, because I want to save to message that was not sent so I can create an alert to the user to say that some messages as not been sent.
To disable to queue I run:
Alter queue [dbo].[Receivedqueue] with status = off
I had the Event Viewer in front of me and I have seen the suddenly it appeared a lot of this informational events:
Description: The activated proc [dbo].[OnReceived] running on queue TestReceiver.dbo.Receivedqueue output the following: 'The current transaction cannot be committed and cannot support operations that write to the log file. Roll back the transaction.'
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
What this message means?
I would like to avoid to have it because it appears a lot of time and I don't want to fill up my Event Viewer!!
I don't know of it is important but in the moment I executed the code there was not CONVERSING conversation and all the queues were empty.
Somebody has seen this error before or I have to send to the forum the [dbo].[OnReceived] code as well?
I have been trying to drill down to the cause for this event log message: "The configuration of the AdminConnectionTCP protocol in the SQL instance SQLEXPRESS is not valid." It is reported from the SQLBrowser service as a warning when the service starts. I have tried starting SQLBrowser.exe with -c flag, but the output reveals no errors. I have seen this error on three computers. Two are running SQL 2000, 2005 and Express. One was only running Express, but still this message. I then looked into the log for the SQL Express server itself. It shows this message on startup: "Dedicated administrator connection support was not started because it is not available on this edition of SQL Server. This is an informational message only. No user action is required." Now, it appears to me that these two messages may relate to the same "error" (or rather behaviour by design). So, can anyone confirm that the warning in the event log from the SQL Browser service occurs becuase of that the SQL Express edition doesn't allow any "AdminConnection", but the SQL Browser service isn't aware of that SQL Express edition shouldn't support that, and reports it as a warning (implying that we can't do much about this warning)?
I am running dts in Sql Server 2005 management studio from Management, Legacy and data Transformation Services.
Once the dts has run, I get this error message "Error Source : Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS) Package Error Description : Error accessing Windows Event Log."
I have recently installed a new server for a client running SBS2003 R2 with SQLServer 2005.
I noted that the backup failed the SQL Server database on the consistenty check. On checking the event log I see this message as per above.
It reads in the description
c:datalawsqldatadata41_Data.MDF:MSSQL_DBCC6:
Operating system error 112(error not found) encountered.
Looking in the error log I see :

I have an File System Task that copies a file from one directory ot another. When I hard code the target directory (c:dirfile.txt) it works fine. When I change it to a virtual directory (\serverdirfile.txt) I get a security error:
[File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path '\gracehbtest oS2TMM_Live_Title_000002.xml' is denied.".
I'm trying to use an XML Task to do a simple XSLT operation, but it fails with this error message:
[XML Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "There are multiple root elements. Line 5, position 2.".
The source XML file validates fine and I've successfully used it as the XML Source in a data flow task to load some SQL Server tables. It has very few line breaks, so the first 5 lines are pretty long: almost 4000 characters, including 34 start-tags, 19 end-tags, and 2 empty element tags. Here's the very beginning of it:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <ESDU releaselevel="2006-02" createdate="26 May 2006"><package id="1" title="_standard" shorttitle="_standard" filename="pk_stan" supplementdate="01/05/2005" supplementlevel="1"><abstract><![CDATA[This package contains the standard ESDU Series.]]></abstract>
There is only 1 ESDU root element and only 1 package element.
Of course, the XSLT stylesheet is also an XML document in its own right. I specify it directly in the XML Task:
Why would I get an application event viewer error when I truncate the transaction logs on my databases? All the error tells me is that i truncated the database log.
I see these 4 events posted in my event log every second. I am using SQL 6.5 The first event says that "Login succeeded- User: probe Connection: Non-Trusted" The second event in the log has this description "DB-LIBRARY - SQL Server message: EXECUTE permission denied on object sp_replcounters, database master, owner dbo" The third event has "DB-LIBRARY error - General SQL Server error: Check messages from the SQL Server." and the fourth event contains "CollectSQLPerformanceData : dbsqlsend failed "
These messages are being posted repeatedly. Could someone shed some light on this please. Thanks Sudarshan
We have a data import t-sql job which runs every morning to extract data from a large Unix database. This has worked fine on an old server which ran the same SQL version and service pack.
The t-sql uses a linked server and simply truncates the local tables and reimports the whole lot. Appreciate there are other ways to do this but it works fine for a medium sized business and is not mission critical.
However, when we have moved this onto the new server its throwing an error message in the event log when the job finishes. It actually completes the job and reports it as successful but at the exact same time it throws the following error message into the event log:
Error: 0, Severity: 19, State: 0 SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 14 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process.

My SQL Server 2005 SP4 on Windows 2008 R2 is flooded with the below errors:-
Date  10/25/2011 10:55:46 AM Log  SQL Server (Current - 10/25/2011 10:55:00 AM) Source  spid Message Event Tracing for Windows failed to send an event. Send failures with the same error code may not be reported in the future. Error ID: 0, Event class ID: 54, Cause: (null).  Is there a way I can trace it how it is coming? When I check input buffer for these ids, it looks like it is tracing everything. All the general application DMLs are coming in these spids.
I have been testing with the WMI Event Watcher Task, so that I can identify a change to a file. The WQL is thus:
SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent within 30 WHERE targetinstance isa 'CIM_DataFile' AND targetinstance.name = 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.1\MSSQL\Backup\AdventureWorks.bak'
This polls every 30 secs and in the SSIS Event (ActionAtEvent in the WMI Task is set to fire the SSIS Event) I have a simple script task that runs a message box).
My understanding is that the event polls every 30 s and if there is a change on the AdventureWorks.bak file then the event is triggered and the script task will run producing the message. However, when I run the package the message is occurring every 30s, meaning the event is continually firing even though there has been NO change to the AdventureWorks.bak file.
Am I correct in my understanding of how this should work and if so why is the event firing when it should not ?
HI, I got this message " The application log is full " at the desktop window of NT server... I went to the event viewer and there was 5 lines only, I did not get the idea, what seems to be the problem
We've have an SQL database which has been working fine. For no apparant reason I've noticed our event loads are being flooded with the following error. I don't know a great deal about SQL so would really appreciate any step-by-step guides on how to fix this and what it means. I've noticed that it only appears during office hours so it seems to be related to when users are using the database rather than it being a problem with the server. Below is a full description of the error.
Many thanks
Event ID=18059 | Source=MSSQLSERVER Text=The connection has been dropped because the principal that opened it subsequently assumed a new security context, and then tried to reset the connection under its impersonated security context. This scenario is not supported. See "Impersonation Overview" in Books Online

Greetings, When using Inserting event of SqlDataSource ASP.NET gives me an error when I reference InsertParameter by Name An SqlParameter with ParameterName 'CreatedByEmployeeId' is not contained by this SqlParameterCollection. However, when I reference parameter by index everything works. Is this a bug or I'm doing something wrong? Here's the code: <asp:SqlDataSource ID="dsRole" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:SecurityConnectionString %>" DeleteCommand="spDeleteRole" InsertCommand="spAddRole" SelectCommand="spGetRole" UpdateCommand="spUpdateRole" DeleteCommandType="StoredProcedure" InsertCommandType="StoredProcedure" SelectCommandType="StoredProcedure" UpdateCommandType="StoredProcedure"> <DeleteParameters> <asp:Parameter Name="RoleId" Type="Int32" /> </DeleteParameters> <UpdateParameters> <asp:Parameter Name="RoleId" Type="Int32" /> <asp:Parameter Name="RoleName" Type="String" /> <asp:Parameter Name="RoleDescription" Type="String" /> <asp:Parameter Name="UpdatedByEmployeeId" Type="Int32" /> </UpdateParameters> <InsertParameters> <asp:Parameter Name="RoleName" Type="String" /> <asp:Parameter Name="RoleDescription" Type="String" /> <asp:Parameter Name="CreatedByEmployeeId" Type="Int32" /> </InsertParameters> <SelectParameters> <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="GridView1" Name="RoleId" PropertyName="SelectedValue" /> </SelectParameters> </asp:SqlDataSource> When using parameter name, I get an error: Protected Sub dsRole_Inserting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceCommandEventArgs) Handles dsRole.Inserting e.Command.Parameters("CreatedByEmployeeId").Value = Internal.Security.GetEmployeeIdFromCookie(Page.Request.Cookies) End Sub When using index instead of name, there's no problem: Protected Sub dsRole_Inserting(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.SqlDataSourceCommandEventArgs) Handles dsRole.Inserting e.Command.Parameters(2).Value = Internal.Security.GetEmployeeIdFromCookie(Page.Request.Cookies) End Sub
I have a stored procedure that I use for call a aspx page from within SQL. The stored procedure itself runs finewith no errors but I keep getting errors in the event viewer everytimeit runs (with .vbs, .NET, .vb6 client) outside Enterprise manager or SQL Query Analyzer.....This is error:Error: 0, Severity: 19, State: 0SqlDumpExceptionHandler: Process 52 generated fatal exception c0000005 EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION. SQL Server is terminating this process.I think that this is the same problem seen inhttp://www.sqlmonster.com/Uwe/Forum...in-Event-ViewerI've test with XP sp2, W2003 server, SQL 2000 sp3a......on the same machine.ANY SUGGESTIONS??????Thanks--Message posted via http://www.sqlmonster.com
The Collect Procedure for the "DTSPipeliner" service in DLL "C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90DTSBinndtspipelineperf.dll" generated an exception or returned an invalid status. Performance data returned by counter DLL will be not be returned in Perf Data Block. The exception or status code returned is the first DWORD in the attached data.
I have tried to re-register this dll but the error is still there.
I am developing a package that will be run by a master package. The main task of this package is to write the errorid, errordescription and other details passed by the master package to various destination like a text file, a sql server or an event log.
I am using the flat file and the OLEDB destination for the text file and sql server. But I could not find any destination component that will help to write to an event log. Do I have to write a destination custom component for this?
I will then use this package in the event handler at the package level. Also comment on my approach.
I have a simple question regarding event notification in sql 2005. I keep up getting a message indicating a syntax error when trying to execute the following script. I also tried with [ instead of '.
CREATE EVENT NOTIFICATION NotifyCT ON DATABASE FOR CREATE_TABLE TO SERVICE 'NotifyService'
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 4 Incorrect syntax near 'NotifyService'.
My apologies...I wasn't for sure where to post an error like this...
Over the last 2 months I have gotten this SQL Server error (twice). All existing processes will continue to work, however no new processes can be created and users cannot connect to the server. This is the exact text of the message in the SQL Server error log.

The SQL Server 2000 SP4 box with Windows 2003 Standard SP1 is well maintained by our I.T. team and it typically will run 4 or 5 months without a reboot.
