how can i exclude all id which doesn't purchase any code.
codeA,codeB,codeC,codeD,.....
ID 1 purchase codeA, this will not be pulled out.
ID 2 didnt purchase any code, this will be pulled out.
I tried select id,code from tableA where code not in ('codeA','codeB','codeC','codeD',...)
but it still pull out ID 1.
I have a cube that is showing measures that don't exist. Let me give an example. This example will include 3 dimensions, product, location, and time. The fact table measure will be sales.
Here are the distinct values if you were to write a sql query against the dimensionl model that feeds the cube.
Product Location Time Sales
A X 1/04 200
B Y 1/04 100
A X 2/04 300
In the cube, if you were to look at product by location for just 2/04, you would see:
Product Location Sales
All Loc 300
A X 300

All Loc

Y
How do you get rid of the zero's or combinations that don't exist?

I want to look at the query SAP_CALD and disclude any record in the field 'department' that has a record of any {DPSG, System, Dealer, DealerIT, Inbound}..I can do this by piggybacking a another query that removes these but wondered if it would be easier to exclude them in the crosstab code.

I would like to exclude a piece of that code from the transaction (I do need to recovere it in the trasaction log).
For instance

I would like to exlude SQL Statement 2 (SQL statement1 and 3 must be inside the same transaction)

I have created a procedure with several SQL statement, all are included in a transaction.
Some of the code are "insert" in tables that are in remote server.
for example:
procedure sp1 is on SERVER B.
From SERVERA by linked server we have:

I am trying to exclude records from a table where the ID column is the same but the Mail code Column is multi-valued.For Example: (the table looks like....)

So, if there is any ID that has a value of XNC, I want to exclude the ID all together from my output regardless of the other values.
In the device emulator when it starts I see two records that were added to the SDF in the VS2008 IDE. I added a third record and after tapping on the Save menu my navigation control shows all three records. I then closed the application. I went to Memory and stopped the form. I went to the File Editor and restarted the application. It only showed the original 2 records. In the File Editor I tapped on the SDF to open it in the Query Analyzer. It also only shows the original two records.
The Dataset appears to be updated, but not the bound table in the SDF. Can any one help? Code is below.

Session variable of empID, passed from a previous page (successfully) determines which row to plop the update into. I am having problems exporting data into a flat file using specific code page. My application has a variable "User::CodePage" that stores code page value (936, 950, 1252, etc) based on the data source. This variable is assigned to the CodePage property of desitnation file connection using Property expression.
But, when I execute the package, the CodePage property of the Destination file connection defaults to the initial value that was set for "User:CodePage" variable in design mode. I checked the value within the variable during runtime and it changes correctly for each data source. But, the property of the destinatin file connection doesn't change and results in an error.
[Flat File Destination [473]] Error: Data conversion failed. The data conversion for column "Column01" returned status value 4 and status text "Text was truncated or one or more characters had no match in the target code page.".
[DTS.Pipeline] Error: The ProcessInput method on component "Flat File Destination" (473) failed with error code 0xC02020A0. The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running.
If I manually update the variable with correct code page and re-run the ETL, everything works fine. Just that it doesn't work during run-time mode.
Can someone please help me resolve this.

What I am concerned about having is the ability to access a database from 10 computers.
I like to use the Enterprise Manager, Query Analyzer, write proceduers, Views and Triggers. Not sure if this affects anything.
I need to purchase a new computer for a small medical clinic which will basically only have one purpose: to answer to read and write queries to a SQL Server 2005 which is resident on that computer. Queries come from the current 8 stations (up to 14 stations in the future). Most of the time, only 3 stations will be active at a time. Queries are mostly to access patient file information, are not complex and are short-lived.
A friend of mine who owns a computer store just quoted me for a dual quad-core Xeon 5405 2GHz system with Windows Server 2003 10 Cals. I'm concerned about the following:
- What's the use in having 8 cores, each of them running at only
2GHz, when there's really only one service running (SQL Server
2005, likely Express Edition) on the computer. Does SQL Server
have the capability to make use of all cores? Otherwise, why
spend more for Xeon and so many cores instead of a single
C2D running at a faster speed of say 3GHz ?
- What would be the advantage of using a Windows Server over
Windows XP in a peer-to-peer configuration? I don't buy into
the 10 connection limit because the TCPIP.sys file can be
altered to move that limit up, so 14 stations does not trigger
the need for Windows Server in and of itself.

I need to find the last purchase price for each product. If I run the following code, I correctly get 1 result for each productID and the last purchase order number.

i have two tables: "Person" and "Year". "Person" can have many "Year"
(one to many relation). i want a query which returns all the records
from "Person" where "Year" is 2005 but exclude if there is any "Year"

I have to built a query to get the % for all the Region (Americas, Asia and Europe) from a cube.
But in these regions some countries are excluded and treated seperate.

I am running a query that works just fine however, I would like it to exclude value that are equal to zero.
Basically my query looks at the commission that clients pay over a number of periods.

It works perfectly fine however, we dont transact with our clients everyday so therefore this list will return all of our clients in the database and many will have generate zero commission. I want to keep the query along those lines I just need to insert something that says "ONLY SHOW WHEN Commission is not ZERO.
