Execution '' Not Found

Sep 7, 2007

I have this annoying error and I cannot find a solution yet. Please help!
I'm generating some reports from a SQL Server 2005 database. I know these reports work fine because I've seen them working, but, sometimes, appearently random, it doesn't create the report, instead, it gives me this error:

Execution '' not found

With nothing inside the ''. Another case is when I try to refresh the report: I generate the report, I see it, and I press F5 to refresh, I get the same error again.

Could anybody help me please? I'm desperate.

Execution '' Cannot Be Found

Jun 21, 2007

I am running a .Net web application that accesses many SQL reports using the Report Viewer.

If a report takes quite a while to load or if I leave the web application idle for quite some time, I get an error similar to the following:

Execution ' ' cannot be found

It seems like the connection to SQL times out and it tries to execute an empty SQL query. Is there any way to prevent this from happening?

Execution 'wccc0s552po43i45n10vgmrq' Cannot Be Found

Oct 25, 2006

have developed a couple of simple parameterised reports in SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Reporting Services for my current project. I am now trying to use Visual Studio 2005 and the ReportView control to hook into these remote reports from an application. I have run into an error and am unable to resolve it:

Execution 'wccc0s552po43i45n10vgmrq' cannot be found

I have trawled the Internet and a chapter in "Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services" with no joy. Has anyone seen this before. I'm sure it will be something simple that I have overlooked.?

Execution '' Cannot Be Found (rsExecutionNotFound)

Jan 24, 2008

We are intermittently seeing this error when viewing a report through the report viewer control.
Our setup is three load-balanced web servers all pointing to a single server that runs Reporting Services (front-end and DB). Do any special steps need to be taken to make RS compatible with a web farm? RS itself is not scaled out, just the calling web servers. Those web servers are set up to share session in a separate SQL Server.
Previous threads on this error seem to involve session timeout, but that doesn't appear to be the case here since we sometimes see the error on the very first request of the report. Refreshing the page will sometimes show the report and sometimes not.
Any suggestions?

The Dreaded Execution Cannot Be Found

Jan 23, 2008

Folks i have been dumped into the frying pan. Put in hours and hours of work and research over it already but still can't seem to figure out what the heck is going on. Can an expert listen to my troubles and perhaps share some hints. Thank you so much for reading.

Enviroments
Windows 2003 SP2 x64
SQL 2005 SP2, Reporting service
IIS6 no SSL/Cert with .NET SP1

Both ReportServer and ReportManager was working prior to an unfortunenate event, installing Exchange 2008.

Immediately after the installation of Exchange 2008 we experienced 2 problems
1. SSL certs was now required, which we resolved by unchecking the SSL required option in IIS6
2. After SSL, execution not found occured in ReportManager

Immediately after we discovered the Execution error, we went over logs after logs to see whats going on. Nothing worked
We have, uninstalled Exchange, Uninstalled Reporting service, Reinstalled reporting service, updated report viewer to sp1, increased the timeout limit to 5 minutes, checked and rechecked our login/password on sql asp w3k reporting and till now still no go.

<-- Error messeage -->
This error msg in reporting service i believe is the reason why we are getting Execution not found.
w3wp!session!1!01/23/2008-11:14:02:: i INFO: LoadSnapshot: Item with session: g4bqhtq0pvzpxh55leja4445, reportPath: /Report Bank/Deposit by Account, userName: NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE not found in the database

and

w3wp!library!1!01/23/2008-11:14:02:: e ERROR: Throwing Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ExecutionNotFoundException: Execution 'g4bqhtq0pvzpxh55leja4445' cannot be found, ;
Info: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ExecutionNotFoundException: Execution 'g4bqhtq0pvzpxh55leja4445' cannot be found
<-- Error messeage -->

After reading tons of info, In our case our reports are simple reports, i can generate the report without problem from ReportServer in less than 10 seconds, just without the bells and whisles. But the second i hop on Report manager it will fight me till death with Execution. I think in our case, Its throwning a Username not found in database which might be preventing the creation of session key or the error is causing the render not to happen. If render dosen't happen then no key can be assigned to it?

We have tried to use impersonate via the web.config and also changing Windows account logins etc but none of them work. One thing that is consistent is that the userName: NT AUTHORITYNETWORK SERVICE not found has NEVER changed even if we impersonate or manually hardcode the username.

Can anyone please help us out here!! Thank you.

Execution 'nxpyd155vbm4lk55djklt555' Cannot Be Found (rsExecutionNotFound)

Nov 2, 2007

Configuration:
Reporting Services 2005 running on IIS/6.0 on Server A.
ReportServer and ReportServerTempDB is running on SQL2005 on Server B.

I have a simple SSRS report that runs on Server A and will connect to SQL 2005 on Server B to retrieve data for the report. My report has only one parameter and I use the value of this parameter as a connection string to the database.

Here is an example of the parameter:
data source=Server B; initial catalog=TestDB; uid=sa; password=abc123

From the report manager, this report is configured to use custom data source.This report is also configured to use Credentials supplied by the user running the report.

Problem:
When I run the report through the Report Manager, as expected, I was prompted to enter a login name and password for report data source. I entered values in both fields and click on the View Report button. Now I am prompted to enter the connection string for the report parameter. I entered a value for parameter and click on the View Report button and I got the following error message:

Execution 'k5jkbu550bjzfy55j1uw1055' cannot be found (rsExecutionNotFound)

When I go back to the Data Sources property screen in report manager and change the credential from
Credentials supplied by the user running the report TO Credentials stored securely in the report server and hardcode the username and password there, the report will run fine.

Can you tell me what the error message means? Any suggestion to get this resolved would be greatly appreciated.

Report Manager Execution Cannot Be Found

Feb 6, 2008

Hello.
Every time we try to view reports using Report Manager this error (
Execution 'kj1mek55bmhvft55cihmeb55' cannot be found) is occured. However, we can view reports using ReportViewer control from VS2005 and subscriptions works properly (without this error).

We are using integrated security to login to Report Manager.
Configuration: SQL Server 2005, SSRS 2005 SP1, Windows 2003, IIS 6.0
How can we fix it?
Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Thanks.

DB Engine :: Error - Report Execution Has Expired Or Cannot Be Found

Sep 22, 2010

I am running a huge SSRS 2008 report and it gets rendered sometimes and sometimes it gives me an error,"The report execution has expired or cannot be found. (rsExecutionNotFound)”.

When I see SQL Server log after this issue comes I see following message there; "A significant part of sql server memory has been paged out. This may result in performance degradation. Duration: 300 seconds. Working set(KB): 97672, memory utilization 42%" .what is the issue and how to fix it.

SSRS Report Viewer Execution ' ' Cannot Be Found (rsExecutionNotFound) Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd

Re: SSRS report viewer Execution ' ' cannot be found
(rsExecutionNotFound) Reserved.ReportViewerWebControl.axd

Every now and then, my users get this error while in the Reportviewer.

Usually, they have to close the window where the report was rendered
and pull it open again. Attempting to open the report again does not
work.

What is this?

I run the report viewer like this:

<rsweb:ReportViewer BackColor="Transparent" ZoomMode="Percent"
width="100%" ProcessingMode="Remote" ID="ReportViewer1"
runat="server">
<ServerReport ReportPath="/myfolder/myreport"
ReportServerUrl="http://myserverr/reportserver" />
</rsweb:ReportViewer>

In my web config:

<compilation debug="true" strict="false" explicit="true">

The Connection Is Not Found. This Error Is Thrown By Connections Collection When The Specific Connection Element Is Not Found

May 1, 2007

I've got a package which reads a text file into a table and updates another. I set up configurations so that I could import it into the SSIS store on both my dev and live servers. Now, I'm getting this error. I tried removing the configs and am still getting it.

I've been through each step and everything looks okay. Does anyone have any idea (a) what's wrong, (b) how to localise the error or (c) get any additional information? Or do I just have to recreate the package from scratch?

Static Variables In A SQLCLR Stored Proc Seem To Get Reused From Execution To Execution Of The Sp

Aug 23, 2007

after moving off VS debugger and into management studio to exercise our SQLCLR sp, we notice that the 2nd execution gets an error suggesting that our static SqlCommand object is getting reused from the 1st execution (of the sp under mgt studio). If this is expected behavior, we have no problem limiting our statics to only completely reusable objects but would first like to know if this is expected? Is the fact that debugger doesnt show this behavior also expected?

Execution Plans &<&> Proportionate Execution Times

Dec 7, 2005

Hi I am slowly getting to grips with SQL Server. As a part of this, I have been attempting to work on producing more efficient queries. This post is regarding what appears to be a discrepancy between the SQL Server execution plan and the actual time taken by a query to run. My brief is to produce an attendance system for an education establishment (I presume you know I'm not an A-Level student completing a project :p ). Circa 1.5m rows per annum, testing with ~3m rows currently. College_Year could strictly be inferred from the AttDateTime however it is included as a field because it a part of just about every PK this table is ever likely to be linked to. Indexes are not fully optimised yet. Table:CREATE TABLE [dbo].[AttendanceDets] ([College_Year] [smallint] NOT NULL ,[Group_Code] [char] (12) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS NOT NULL ,[Student_ID] [char] (8) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS NOT NULL ,[Session_Date] [datetime] NOT NULL ,[Start_Time] [datetime] NOT NULL ,[Att_Code] [char] (1) COLLATE SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS NOT NULL ) ON [PRIMARY]GO CREATE CLUSTERED INDEX [IX_AltPK_Clust_AttendanceDets] ON [dbo].[AttendanceDets]([College_Year], [Group_Code], [Student_ID], [Session_Date], [Att_Code]) ON [PRIMARY]GO CREATE INDEX [All] ON [dbo].[AttendanceDets]([College_Year], [Group_Code], [Student_ID], [Session_Date], [Start_Time], [Att_Code]) ON [PRIMARY]GO CREATE INDEX [IX_AttendanceDets] ON [dbo].[AttendanceDets]([Att_Code]) ON [PRIMARY]GOALL inserts are via an overnight sproc - data comes from a third party system. Group_Code is 12 chars (no more no less), student_ID 8 chars (no more no less). I have created a simple sproc. I am using this as a benchmark against which I am testing my options. I appreciate that this sproc is an inefficient jack of all trades - it has been designed as such so I can compare its performance to more specific sprocs and possibly some dynamic SQL. Sproc:CREATE PROCEDURE [dbo].[CAMsp_Att] @College_Year AS SmallInt,@Student_ID AS VarChar(8) = '________', @Group_Code AS VarChar(12) = '____________', @Start_Date AS DateTime = '1950/01/01', @End_Date as DateTime = '2020/01/01', @Att_Code AS VarChar(1) = '_' AS IF @Start_Date = '1950/01/01'SET @Start_Date = CAST(CAST(@College_Year AS Char(4)) + '/08/31' AS DateTime) IF @End_Date = '2020/01/01'SET @End_Date = CAST(CAST(@College_Year +1 AS Char(4)) + '/07/31' AS DateTime) SELECT College_Year, Group_Code, Student_ID, Session_Date, Start_Time, Att_Code FROM dbo.AttendanceDets WHERE College_Year = @College_YearAND Group_Code LIKE @Group_CodeAND Student_ID LIKE @Student_IDAND Session_Date <= @End_DateAND Session_Date >=@Start_DateAND Att_Code LIKE @Att_CodeGOMy confusion lies with running the below script with Show Execution Plan:--SET SHOWPLAN_TEXT ON--Go DECLARE @Time as DateTime Set @Time = GetDate() select College_Year, group_code, Student_ID, Session_Date, Start_Time, Att_Code from attendanceDetswhere College_Year = 2005 AND group_code LIKE '____________' AND Student_ID LIKE '________'AND Session_Date <= '2005-11-16' AND Session_Date >= '2005-11-16' AND Att_Code LIKE '_' Print 'First query took: ' + CAST(DATEDIFF(ms, @Time, GETDATE()) AS VarCHar(5)) + ' milli-Seconds' Set @Time = GetDate() EXEC CAMsp_Att @College_Year = 2005, @Start_Date = '2005-11-16', @End_Date = '2005-11-16' Print 'Second query took: ' + CAST(DATEDIFF(ms, @Time, GETDATE()) AS VarCHar(5)) + ' milli-Seconds'GO --SET SHOWPLAN_TEXT OFF--GOThe execution plan for the first query appears miles more costly than the sproc yet it is effectively the same query with no parameters. However, my understanding is the cached plan substitutes literals for parameters anyway. In any case - the first query cost is listed as 99.52% of the batch, the sproc 0.48% (comparing the IO, cpu costs etc support this). BUT the text output is:(10639 row(s) affected) First query took: 596 milli-Seconds (10639 row(s) affected) Second query took: 2856 milli-SecondsI appreciate that logical and physical performance are not one and the same but can why is there such a huge discrepancy between the two? They are tested on a dedicated test server, and repeated running and switching the order of the queries elicits the same results. Sample data can be provided if requested but I assumed it would not shed much light. BTW - I know that additional indexes can bring the plans and execution time closer together - my question is more about the concept. If you've made it this far - many thanks.If you can enlighten me - infinite thanks.

Execution In Scheduled Job Vs Direct Execution

Nov 29, 2004

Here's my case, I have written a stored procedure which will perform the following:
1. Grab data from a table using cursor,
2. Process data,
3. Write the result into another table

If I execute the stored procedure directly (thru VS.NET, or Query Analyser), it will run, but when I tried to execute it via a scheduled job, it fails.

I used the same record, same parameters, and the same statements to call the stored procedure.

Any idea?

Actual Execution Plan Vs Estimated Execution Plan

Jul 7, 2006

The benefit of the actual execution plan is that you can see the actual number of rows passing through each step - compared to the estimated number of rows.But what about the "cost percentages" ?I believe I've read somewhere that these percentages is still just an estimate and is not based on the real execution.Does anyone know this and preferable have a link to something that documents it?Thanks

New Db Cant Be Found

Jul 20, 2005

We have a brand new sql 2k server. Its all up to date on service packs(both win2k and SQL).I went in to enterprise manager and added a new db. I can run sprocsand raw sql against the new db just fine from Query Analyzer.When I try to make a dts package that refers to my new db I get thefollowing error:Error desription: deferred prepare could not be completed.Could not locate entry in sysdatabases for database 'mydbname'. Noentry found with that name. Make sure that the name is enteredcorrectly.OK, so I look in sysdatabases and see 'mydbname'. Just in case im anidiot... I actually copied the db name from that table and paste it inmy dts window.My dts package is using an "execute SQL task" to call a stored proc.To be ecxact:USE mydbnameGOEXEC MyProcWhen I click on the parse button, is when I get that error message.I have deleted the db, restarted the server, and recreated the db witha slightly different name. I can replace mydbname with pubs ornorthwind and all is ok. It just doesnt like new db's.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,Dave

I've Found A Bug In SQL CE 3.0/3.1, What Next?

Oct 10, 2007

Greetings,

I've found a bug in SQL CE 3.0/3.1. This has been confirmed to be present by other users of this and the microsoft.public newsgroups, both in the Windows CE versions and the desktop x86 versions. I got this response:

Laxmi Narsimha Rao ORUGANTI MSFT wrote:

Can you please provide the simplified repro with full VS Solution you have thru our blog: http://blogs.msdn.com/sqlservercompact/contact.aspx. First contact us and then we will exchange directly thru mail.

And that's where it has ended (after I contacted the team via the blog - no response). Other forum users have suggested that I post here repeatedly until I get a response, so that's what I'm doing. Apologies.

TIA

Sql - If Not Found, Give Name

Mar 13, 2007

Been trying to get this one but need a little input.
SELECT a.Id,g.LabName......
FROM someTbl a,table g
WHERE a.id = @idAND (b.calLab = g.ID OR g.LabName = ???)
With the above, if b.calLab = 0 then there is no entry in table g.(I didn't develop the table or would have included NONE)
So, how to tell g.LabName to come back as 'None' if b.calLab = 0?
Thanks,
Zath

Function Can't Be Found, But Don't Know Why

Apr 14, 2008

Hello,
I'm working on a function that will return the results in a SELECT statement.  But it's not being called properly, and I can't understand why it isn't working.  If anyone can help me out I'd greatly appreciate it.
Here's the function code:1    FUNCTION [dbo].[UDFproduct_Search]2    ( 3        @search_string varchar(255)4    )5    RETURNS TABLE 6    AS7    RETURN 8    (9        SELECT product_id10       FROM product11       WHERE product_item_number LIKE '%' + @search_string + '%' OR12             product_part_number LIKE '%' + @search_string + '%' OR13             product_name LIKE '%' + @search_string + '%' OR14             product_commodity LIKE '%' + @search_string + '%'15   )
This SELECT statement returns the expected value:SELECT * FROM UDFproduct_Search('CABINET')
This SELECT statement returns the expected value:1    SELECT * FROM where_used WHERE product_id 2    IN(SELECT product_id FROM product3       WHERE product_item_number LIKE '%' + 'CABINET' + '%' OR4             product_part_number LIKE '%' + 'CABINET' + '%' OR5             product_name LIKE '%' + 'CABINET' + '%' OR6             product_commodity LIKE '%' + 'CABINET' + '%')
This SELECT statement returns errors:SELECT * FROM where_used WHERE product_id IN(UDFproduct_Search('CABINET') Error:'UDFproduct_Search' is not a recognized built-in function name.
I've tried adding dbo to the function call, and in various locations, but I still get the error.  Hope someone can point something out I missed.
Thanks.

<%@ Page Language="vb" AutoEventWireup="false" Codebehind="Login.aspx.vb" Inherits="PPASA.Login"%>
2)In Login.aspx.vb (below) has a call to PPASA.vb with the following statement Call OpenCloseDB(True).

End Sub

3)PPASA.vb then creates the connection to the Database. PPASA.vb looks like this.

Module PPASA

Public cnn As New ADODB.Connection

Public Sub OpenCloseDB(ByVal Connect As Boolean)

If Connect = True Then
If cnn.State = 0 Then
cnn.Open("Description=PPASA;DRIVER=SQL Server;SERVER=THE-ONESERVERA;UID=sa;PWD=123;APP=Microsoft Data Access Components;DATABASE=PPASA")
End If
Else
If Connect = False Then
If cnn.State = 1 Then cnn.Close()
End If
End If
End Sub

Public Function CheckSecurity(ByVal Actual As Integer, ByVal Required As Integer) As Boolean
If Actual >= Required Then
CheckSecurity = True
Else
CheckSecurity = False
End If
End Function
End Module

4)After I submit Login.aspx the application boms and gives me the "Specified SQL server not found".

Extra Info:

The Sql server is up and running. I have tested it by connecting with 2 test connection files index.asp and index2 .aspx.
Here are the files. The files also return results from the pubs db.

strConn="DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=THE-ONESERVERA;UID=sa;PWD=123;DATABASE=pubs"
objConn = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")
objCmd = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Command")
objRs = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.RecordSet")

objCmd.CommandText = "SELECT * from authors"
objConn.open (strConn)
objCmd.ActiveConnection = objConn
objRs = objCmd.Execute

If Not objRs.EOF then
Do While Not objRs.EOF
response.write ("VALUES :: ")
For Each objField In objRs.Fields
Response.Write (" " & objField.value & " \// ")
Next
response.write ("<br>")
objRs.movenext
Loop
End if

objConn.Close()
%>

There are also the following files in the bin directory.
Interop.ADOR.dll
Interop.MSChart20Lib.dll
Interop.Scripting.dll
PPASA.dll
utCharting.dll

So my question is this, why do I get the error "Specified SQL server not found", when I dont get the error with the test connection files.?
Do I have to do anything with the .dll file in the bin directory, like register them or something?
How does the Login.aspx.vb file call the PPASA.vb file when I see no reference to PPASA.vb
in the Login.aspx.vb file?
I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
Thanks

SQL Server Not Found

Sep 24, 2004

I am trying to connect to my SQL Server through my ASP.NET webpages. My problem is that, no matter what I do, it always says that the server is not found. I know the IP address of my server, and this IP address works from other computers within my network, just not mine.

I have no idea what it could be. If anyone knows, any help would be greatly appriciated.

Specified SQL Server Not Found

Dec 21, 2001

I'm attempting a connection to my sql server (running off broadband) from a page I have hosting at my new ISP.. just a standard conn string in .asp..

cn.Open "PROVIDER=SQLOLEDB;DATA SOURCE=24.10.XX.XXX.UID=sa;PWD=mypwd;DATABASE=d_ap p;"

and i get "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Named Pipes]Specified SQL server not found."

From my older host I have no problems connecting to my server... so I assumed it must be something at my new host, but I'm able to connect to other remote sql servers from my new isp (for example I can connect from my new ISP to the old ISP's SQL server w/o a problem), but for some reason I can't from the new host connect to mine.. is there a setting on mine that needs to change?

newhostwebsvr to oldhostsql works... oldhostwebsvr to mylocalsql works.. newhostwebsvr to mylocalsql doesn't work??
