When i execute a sql statment, i get this error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Execution of a full-text operation failed. A clause of the query contained only ignored words.
i tryed to execute same statment in sql query analyzer...in analyzer it works, but in .net returns this error. Have anybody any clue how to fix this error? i'm using ms sql database, SqlDataAdapter and datatable.
Anyone know if Full-Text Search is supported for a SQL Server 7.0 database located on a Win95 machine? I have Full-Text Search working for NT. It does not appear to be an install option for Win95.
I Have the same problem, i execute the T-sql statement select * from sys.fulltext_languages and i get zero rows, i uninstalled and installed again and nothing happend i still have zero when executing that statement, i try another computer and there evrything went fine!.. i do have Microsoft Net framework, and everything but i still can get this to work! help please!!!
I've downloaded SQL Server Express with Advanced Services from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/sql/download/ and installed all components. When I try to create a full-text catalog, I get the following message:
No full-text supported languages found.
select * from sys.fulltext_languages returns no lines.
How can neutral, English or maybe Hungarian word breakers be installed?
I have the following VB function. The stored proc that is being called ("GetList") inside the function does a simple SQL Select statement against an SQL Server 7 database using OLE DB. I'd like to store the result of the SQL Select statement in the "Rs" parameter to pass back to the calling function. Whenever I call this function, I get an error message stating "No Such Interface Supported". Does anyone know why I cannot do this?
Also, this function is being called from ASP code. That's why the "Rs" is passed as a variant. It's created in the ASP code before this function is called.
------------------------------------------
Function GetAddressDropDownList(Rs As Variant, CustomerId As Long)
Dim ProcComm Dim Parameter
Set ProcComm = CreateObject("ADODB.Command") ProcComm.CommandType = adCmdStoredProc ProcComm.CommandText = "GetList"
Set Parameter = ProcComm.CreateParameter("CustomerId", adInteger, adParamInput) Parameter.Value = CustomerId ProcComm.Parameters.Append Parameter Set Parameter = Nothing
I finally figure out why I can't connect to the SQLEXPRESS on this computer (technically, I was a remote connection), get everything installed (Advanced edition), and then...
It keeps telling me that "No Such Interface is Supported" and "Unable to cast COM object of type "System._ComObject" to Interface type..."
I grabbed it in a screen capture and will try to get it to a server tonight when I get home.
Using the full SQL Server 2005 patched up to build 9.0.3054.
Creating a simple maintenance plan to backup specific databases.
As soon as i try to save the plan i get the popup error :"no such interface supported". It won't allow me to save any plan at all regardless of what I put in there.
I have been trying to set up full-text indexing. All the CONTAINS searches, however, always returns 0 row. It seems the index is always empty. Could you please help figure it out?
Here is how I created the full-text catalog and index:
CREATE FULLTEXT CATALOG ft_catalog AS DEFAULT; CREATE FULLTEXT INDEX kb(title, body) KEY INDEX PK_kb WITH CHANGE_TRACKING AUTO;
Then from the full-text crawl log, I found

I tried to find if the index contains anything. 0 is returned from the following query.
I'm using SQL Server 2012 Analysis services in Tabular mode and connected to Oracle Database and while importing, I'm getting below error after importing some rows.
OLE DB or ODBC error: Accessor is not a parameter accessor.. The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed.
I am getting a really weird error message when executing a full-text query on SQL server 2005:
------------------------- Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14' The execution of a full-text query failed. "The form specified for the subject is not one supported or known by the specified trust provider." -------------------------
Just to give a bit of background: we recently moved our database from a machine with SQL Server 2003 to a different computer with SQL Server 2005. This is when the error started showing up.
The query is not particular complex:
SELECT * FROM myTable M INNER JOIN FREETEXTTABLE(myTable, *, 'keyword') ct ON ct.[KEY] = M.Resource_ID
It's the "Freetexttable" bit that creates the error message. I have done some research on google, but I can't seem to find a solution.
Has anybody come across this error before? Any ideas on how I could fix it?
Hello, I've enabled full-text indexing on one of my tables, and the following query used to work: SELECT * FROM TempAttachment WHERE CONTAINS(attachment, 'text')
However, now I get the following error: Msg 9955, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 SQL server failed to communicate with Full-Text Service (msftesql). The system administrator must make sure that same service account is used for both services and the service account has the permission to auto start the full-text service.
I've checked the configuration and verified that both accounts are the same. I've restarted the services, and tried rebooting, and still no luck. I did a search on this error, and found this page from MSDN, which doesn't help me much: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa337365.aspx.
Has anybody come across this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am getting following error when query using a full-text index:
select * from workitemlongtexts where Contains(words, 'test');
==error message== Msg 7619, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 The execution of a full-text query failed. "Service is not running."
I have verified that 1. msftesql service is running, 2. I even rebuilt the full-text index and it didn't help 3. my full-text crawl job is running fine 4. my DB is full-text enabled
Can someone explain what "Service" the error refers to? I am using SQL 2005 Ent SP1.
After detaching the database I placed the database files and log files in the D folder as C drive was full. When i try to attach the files I am getting an error Failed to attach database Microsoft SQL Error 7622 (QCFTCAT Full text catalog).
I checked there is a folder in C drive by name QCFTCAT and the C drive has no space. What does this folder means please let me know on the same.

Some time ago, I came across some posts that suggested that remote execution of SSIS packages was only supported if the package was wrapped by a SQL Server Job Agent job.
Is this correct?
Would the web service technique described below then not be supported?
when i right click and execute the package from the Management Studio, it runs fine, everytime. When i schedule a job to execute it, it fails, everytime.
"The package execution failed. The step failed."
i have made sure that the package and job ran using credentials with more than enough access to everything. Still, with no luck. PLEASE! I am at my wits ends here, and the boss is getting antsey...
I am getting the below error message while performing Bulk Insert/Update operation.

This is a pretty standard procedure for doing backups. For some reason I am getting 'Failed to connect to server. Cannot open user default database. Login failed' for MachineNameAdministrator' error message.
This error message appears when the application is loaded on to windows 2003 machine. However I have been able to do one backup on this machine in the last 2 days, so there appears to be some erratic behaviour. I am able to connect to the server to read the last database backup date (This function also occasionallly fails to connect to the server.)
This login failure does not seem to be present when I load this application on XP machines.
Hi, i'm trying to do a full text search on my site to add a weighting score to my results. I have the following database structure: Documents: - DocumentID (int, PK) - Title (varchar) - Content (text) - CategoryID (int, FK) Categories: - CategoryID (int, PK) - CategoryName (varchar) I need to create a full text index which searches the Title, Content and CategoryName fields. I figured since i needed to search the CategoryName field i would create an indexed view. I tried to execute the following query: CREATE VIEW vw_DocumentsWITH SCHEMABINDING ASSELECT dbo.Documents.DocumentID, dbo.Documents.Title, dbo.Documents.[Content], dbo.Documents.CategoryID, dbo.Categories.CategoryNameFROM dbo.Categories INNER JOIN dbo.Documents ON dbo.Categories.CategoryID = dbo.Documents.CategoryID GOCREATE UNIQUE CLUSTERED INDEX vw_DocumentsIndexON vw_Documents(DocumentID) But this gave me the error: Cannot create index on view 'dbname.dbo.vw_Documents'. It contains text, ntext, image or xml columns. I tried converting the Content to a varchar(max) within my view but it still didn't like. Appreciate if someone can tell me how this can be done as surely what i'm trying to do is not ground breaking.
Hello everyone ! I want to perform Full Text Search with SQL Server 2000. My documents (.doc, .xls, .txt, .pdf) are stored in a SQL Server field which is binary (the type of the column is image). I would like to know, how you can extract pieces of text from the documents. Example: I have a ASPX page with codebehind in C# making the search in a table in SQL server that is full text indexed. I make a search looking for the word "peace", than SQL server will take care about the search and return it to me the rows that match with that. But also I'd like to extract the 50 characters before and after where sql server found the word "peace" to show in the result page. Does anyone has any idea how to work around it ? Best regards. Yannick
I have a column in a table that has a type TEXT,when I pull the length of a row it returns 88222 but when I select from that column it dows not show all the text in the result set.
Code page translations are not supported for the text data type. From:1252 To: 950.I would like to know what this message means. I also installed thelanguage packs in advanced settings, Everything is set to English. Mywindows XP computer is XP English. For some reason I cant get an updateto go thru using ADO. like Recordset.UpdateAlthough other routines using .update workAny ideas?
We have a scheduled weekly full backup job running through maintenance plan. We are using Sql 2008r2. Our backup server is windows 2008R2. There is plenty of space in the backup server but still my database full backup failed with the following error.
Executing the query "BACKUP DATABASE [Test] TO DISK = N'C:fullbackup." failed with the following error: "Write on "C:fullbackup est_backup_2015_04_12_200003.bak" failed: 665(The requested operation could not be completed due to a file system limitation) BACKUP DATABASE is terminating abnormally.
I am using the following plumbing code to search a database column for a keyword. I can't use full-test indexing so I came up w/ this work around. But It has many flaws so I'm looking for a better way. Thx in advance.
'Open sql connection SqlConnection1.Open()
Dim datareader2 As SqlClient.SqlDataReader datareader2 = cmdFindRowsWithKeyword.ExecuteReader Dim strMsg As String Dim intRowToFlag As Integer Dim strRowsToGet As String Dim strKeywordAsTyped As String Dim strKeywordAllCaps As String Dim strKeywordAllLower As String Dim strKeywordFirstLetterCap As String Dim FirstLetter As String
'Assign keyword as typed to variable strKeywordAsTyped = txtSearchFor.Text 'Assign keyword as typed to variable then convert it to all uppercase strKeywordAllCaps = txtSearchFor.Text strKeywordAllCaps = strKeywordAllCaps.ToUpper 'Assign keyword as typed to variable then convert it to all lowercase strKeywordAllLower = txtSearchFor.Text strKeywordAllLower = strKeywordAllLower.ToLower 'Assign keyword as typed to variable then convert it so just the first letter is in uppercase strKeywordFirstLetterCap = txtSearchFor.Text FirstLetter = strKeywordFirstLetterCap.Chars(0) FirstLetter = FirstLetter.ToUpper strKeywordFirstLetterCap = strKeywordFirstLetterCap.Remove(0, 1) strKeywordFirstLetterCap = strKeywordFirstLetterCap.Insert(0, FirstLetter)
'If the string contains the keyword as typed in all caps all lowercase or w/ the 1st letter in caps then flag that row. If strMsg.IndexOf(strKeywordAsTyped) <> -1 Or strMsg.IndexOf(strKeywordAllCaps) <> -1 Or strMsg.IndexOf(strKeywordAllLower) <> -1 Or strMsg.IndexOf(strKeywordFirstLetterCap) <> -1 Then
cmdFlagRowsWithKeyword.Parameters("@recid").Value = intRowToFlag SqlConnection2.Open() Dim datareader3 As SqlClient.SqlDataReader datareader3 = cmdFlagRowsWithKeyword.ExecuteReader datareader3.Close() SqlConnection2.Close()
Distributed transactions were happily running between our SQL servers and then we installed Windows 2003 Server SP2 and all of a sudden we got this nice error message when attempting a remote data update via linked servers. I couldn't even run "BEGIN DISTRIBUTED TRANSACTION" without getting the error message. The full error message is:
"Enlist operation failed: 0x8004d00e(XACT_E_NOTRANSACTION). SQL Server could not register with Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) as a resource manager for this transaction. The transaction may have been stopped by the client or the resource manager."
Apparently, SP2 disables network DTC access (how nice, I feel more secure knowing that my data can't be updated remotely anymore).
Solution:
From Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs | Add Remove Windows Components Select "Application Server" and click the "Details" button Check "Enable network DTC access" and click OK for however many prompts it takes to apply the changes.
****NOTE**** this change WILL SHUT DOWN SQL SERVER so plan accordingly (this would have been handy to know in advance since I ran it in the middle of the workday and everyone got disconnected).
