I am working in an environment where i inherited bad design. I have a column in a table. This col contains huge HTML files. We are mostly reading these files and very little updates.
I am changing this whole architecture and going to using Azure Blob storage. I am stuck right now. I need to extract these html strings and save them into separate files in year/month/day/filename.html format. I have another column in the table which has create date saved in it.
I am planning to import all these files into BLOB storage and save link in the table.
1) How can i extract these strings from the table and save them in the year/month/day/filename.html directory/sub-directory format

I have made a server security audit and specify from database audit specification to audit "select" on a certain user and on a certain table. I logged in by this user and made the select statement..when i run this query
"select * from sys.fn_get_audit_file('d:Auditaudit1*',null,null)"
It return a value at which time the query has done
after 15 minutes i repeated the same action, i run the audit query and the same result is showed off on the panel.is it suppose to return a list of values by how many times this user has made the select statement on that table ? for example at 5:00 pm then 6:00 pm and so on
Hi, for my photo album database I'm trying to decide whether to store the actual photos as images in the db or whether to leave them in file directories with just the path & filename in the db. As a beginner in this field I don't know how either of these options compare (e.g. in terms of performance, complexity, flexibility and maintainablity) so any advice on the pros and cons of each would be appreciated.
I have a trigger set on TABLE1 so that any update to this column should set off trigger to write to the AUDIT log table, it works fine otherwise but not the very first time when table1 has null in the column. if i comment out
and i.req_fname <> d.req_fname from the where clause then it works fine the first time too. Seems like null value of the column is messing things up
Any thoughts?

Hello folks I'm tring to create a search function on a page that searches a database fields. But the problem I am having is that, instead of a user typing in a key word, the have to type in the exact phrase to get a result from the db. For example... With my current code, if a user wants to look for "newbie .net developers in ireland", they would have to type in that exact phrase. But i need to create a function, where the user only has to type in keywords to get a result. I am building myself a datadriven menu control and I have got one table where I store all menu items as rows. On each row there is a column for roles, in this column I have added one or several roles as a string. Today I can retrieve all menu items (rows) for a requested role, but how can I retrieve menu items for two or more roles? Hello everyone ! I want to perform Full Text Search with SQL Server 2000. My documents (.doc, .xls, .txt, .pdf) are stored in a SQL Server field which is binary (the type of the column is image). I would like to know, how you can extract pieces of text from the documents. Example: I have a ASPX page with codebehind in C# making the search in a table in SQL server that is full text indexed. I make a search looking for the word "peace", than SQL server will take care about the search and return it to me the rows that match with that. But also I'd like to extract the 50 characters before and after where sql server found the word "peace" to show in the result page. Does anyone has any idea how to work around it ? Best regards. I am developing a Recruitment Agency WebsiteI am using MS SQL Server in which I have a table called CV_Details which stores all the details of different Job Seekers. I have stored all the Word and PDF docs of the Job seekers in a 'mycatalog' using Index Server and stored the path in the CV_Details table along with rest of the cv details. Basically I want to download the cv's which i get after making a search in the doc's. I am able to get the filename, Path, Filesize by using Index Server Query.Is it anyway possible to extract all the CV Details data by matching the path.I want the cv details from the SQL Server of all the Related Paths at the same time not one at a time. What would the syntax be to insert a column to the right of this one, and extract the first 8 digits from the data in the DATEID column and insert that into the new column DATE, therefore making it easier for me to query against an actual date?

I have installed the Adobe iFilter 11 64 bit and set the path to the bin folder. I still cannot find any text from the pdf files. I suspect I am missing something trivial because I don't find much when I Bing for this so it must not be a common problem.Here is the code.

I have a table that contains words that will be used to search another table where FullText index has been created on searchable columns. I'm basically trying to run something like this:
SELECT t1.col1, t2.col3 FROM tbl1 t1, tbl2 t2 WHERE CONTAINS (t1.col1, t2.col1)
I know this won't work but is there a way to join these two tables so the words (t2.col1) can be passed as search conditions? There is no common key on both tables so normal join won't work. I'm trying to find a way to pass the search words from one table to another.
I need help...here is the problem.Last weekend, the servers in our datacenter where moved around. After thismove, and maybe coincidental, 1 server is performing very poor. Afterrunning a trace with SQL Profiler, I saw the problem which was laterconfirmed with another tool for SQL server performance monitoring. It seemsthat all connections to the SQL server (between 200 - 400) are doing a login/ logout for each command that they process. For example, the user'sconnection will login, perform a SELECT, and then logout. This is not a..NET application. The client software was not changed, it is still thesame. The vendor has said that it is not supposed to do that, it issupposed to use 1 connection that log's on in the morning and logs off atthe end of the day or whenever the user exits. 1 user may have severalconnections to the database.At times, the server is processing over 250 login / logouts (avgeraged for30 second period). Has anyone seen this problem? I have the server inAUDIT FAILUREs only. The server has become very unresponsive, things thattook 3 seconds now take over 15 seconds.Any ideas???
