I have a power pivot with 2 multi valued report filters student_branch & blood_group. These report filters are used to fetch the data set that contain below result set
student_branch blood_group count
Everything works fine. But, what i am looking for , is there any way to show the what are all the report filters that are selected currently by , separated in a separate cell ? below is the image for output reference.
Using MDS 2012: I have an entity "XYZ_Entity". In "XYZ_Entity" entity I have 2 domain based Columns "DealerGroup" and "Dealer".
While inserting information into "XYZ_Entity" entity user can select the required dealer group from domain base Dealer Group values. Now for selecting Dealer he wants the dealers to be filter based on selected dealer group and he can select from the filtered list. reason to do that is he don't want to go through thousands of dealers and select an incorrect one.
Hello. I currently have a website that has a table on one webpage. When a record is clicked, the primary key of that record is transfered in the query string to another page and fed into an sql statement. In this case its selecting a project on the first page, and displaying all the scripts for that project on another page. I also have an additional dropdownlist on the second page that i use to filter the scripts by an attribute called 'testdomain'. At present this works to an extent. When i click a project, i am navigated to the scripts page which is empty except for the dropdownlist. i then select a 'testdomain' from the dropdownlist and the page populates with scripts (formview) for the particular test domain. what i would like is for all the scripts to be displayed using the formview in the first instance when the user arrives at the second page. from there, they can then filter the scripts using the dropdownlist. My current SQL statement is as follows. SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [TestScript] WHERE (([ProjectID] = @ProjectID) AND ([TestDomain] = @TestDomain))" So what is happening is when testdomain = a null value, it does not select any scripts. Is there a way i can achieve the behaivour of the page as i outlined above? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, James.
I am trying to do a freetext filter with mutiple columns using a column list, but I can't get the syntax down for multiple column list. First, am I am going about this the right way...Do I need to be doing both? Second why doesn't mutiple columns work. I can't find any good samples online. What I am trying to accomplish is a refined search stored procedure that uses the freetext to do the search refinement. Any help would be appreciated.

in my table fields are departmentid, studentexpected, student name, date attendance,sortorder while grouping(drill down) the departmentid column , iam displaying student name, date attendance its working fine. problem: while grouping(drill down) the studentexpected resultant column i need to display student name, date attendance fields.
in my database studentexpected column displaying studentlist like 28, 56,250, while grouping(drilldown) the individual lists like 28,56,250, i need to dispaly student name and date attendance fields.
my problem is while grouping(drill down) the departmentid column iam getting result for studentlist 28 as iam getting 28 student names and 28 attendancedates, this functionality is correct.
but while grouping(drilldown) the studentexpected resultant column iam not getting (assume for studentlist 28) 28 studentnames and 28 attendancedates.iam geting only 2 studentnames, 2 attendance dates, but i need respective list columns
in database iam taking sordorder as 7.
iam facing difficulty at the time filtering the studentname and attendancedates columns in table properties
which data i have to give in filter column for displying 28 student names and 28 date attendances fields at the time of grouping studentexpected column?

I am looking to filter the query using the free text predicate Contains for one of the column that have dimensions of the items. The query is something like
Select * from sampletable where contains(filtercolumn, 'Near("*cm , *cm , *cm , *Kg.",10,True)')
Data in the filtercolumn is something like 64cm x 25cm x 35cm = 10Kg.
The query do not return any data.I also tried running the below query to see if cm* can be searcher for, but with no result again

If I do something like below, it does return all columns that have 35cm within the text. Select * from sampletable where contains(filtercolumn,, '"35cm"')
In a calculated column I am trying to get a scalar text value from a lookup to another table. This works quite well when getting numerical values with the following formula:
But as soon as I substitute the numerical column by a string column, #error results.
I also want to mention that the above query yields only one row as a result. It should be simple to return the value of one of the columns but after searching for quite some time, I could not find any function for that.
I'm running SQL Server 2008 Feb08 CTP and I've got a tablix with column groupings and row groupings which works nicely, I'm a becomming a big fan of the tablix.
However sometimes the filter I have on a column group returns no records and the whole column group disappears. Is there any way to make this column appear with but with empty cells as I have another tablix down the page with the same columns and I want the columns to all line up on the multiple tablix.
In Version 2005 I used to achieve the equivalent of a column group within a table by adding a list with filter to the cell, this meant the column always was shown, the tablix allows does this much more elegantly but I'll have to go back to the old method if I can't make the column remain.
I am JOINing a Table with a View, and the View can have multiple rows relating to the join condition(i.e. My view as 4 columns, and can look like the following: A B C D A E F G B H I J I want this to look like - A B C D E F G B H I J I want one row, but not one column, I need to maintain each value in its own column, withinin a single row. In one of my datasets, my field "Team" is a SharePoint choice column that is a checkbox, so multiple entries are in it. In my Parameter, I have it as a multiple-value, and I'm specifying the values directly in both available and default.For my filter, I have [Team] IN [@Team], which is where the problem comes in. It will only filter the results of entries that only have ONE listed in Team.
For example: One entry has "Building" in Team column which SSRS is displaying. But it will NOT display entries where "Building" and "Clerks" are displayed. I believe this is because SSRS sees this as 1 line of text, so it does not just see"Building" but "Building" and "Clerks" so it will omit it.I've tried to have my parameter set to "Get values from a query" but the problem there is the drop-down is too confusing since it interprets it as "Building" and then "Building, Clerks", and then "Building, Clerks, Economic Development' as another drop down, which defeats the purpose of the filter.
how I can get SSRS to show ALL entries that contain "Building" when I choose "Building" as a drop-down choice in my parameter? Instead of only showing ones that is Building only and dismissing other teams?

Hi,I have a DataGrid whose DataSource is an SQLDataSource. This SQLDataSource references a SQL Server table with an Identity column, named Id. The SQLDataSource has generated an Update statement for me, but this only works if the Id column is selected for display in the DataGrid, and has Visible = True. If not, then the @original_Id parameter to the generated Update statement has a value of Nothing, and the Update has no effect. So is there a way to enable the Update statement to work, without the user having to see the Id column in the DataGrid? Many thanks,Keith.
My first ASP.NET/SQL project. I'm creating an Asset Management DB. I wish to view the Asset number, the full name of the user it's assigned to and the Make and Model of each record in the DB. However assets are split into different categories e.g. monitors, PCs, Preinters etc. and they are all in different tables. I have a column in the following select startement called displayvalue. Displayvalue is a varchar column. Primary everything entered into this column is numeric, but there are times when NR is entered. In the select query if it sees NR, I would like to have NR changed in the resultset to NULL or blank. NR doesn't come up all of the time, but I have not idea how to do this in the select statment.

I have created a trigger in SQLExpress which looking for any insertion to a specific table in a database:

I use SQL Server 2005. I have approx. 50 tables in my database and 30 of them have a filed named "CompanyID". Example: create table A (ID int identity, NAME varchar(100), COMPANYID int)create table A (ID int identity, REF_ID int, FIELD1 varchar(100), FIELD2 varchar(100), COMPANYID int)
Also there are nearly 200 stored procedures that read data from these tables. Example: create procedure ABCasbegin /* some checks and expressions here ... */ select ... from A inner join B on (A.ID = B.REF_ID) where ... /* ... */end;
All my queries in the Stored procedure does not filter the tables by CompanyID, so they process the entire data.
However, now we have a requirement to separate the data for each company. That means that we have to put a filter by CompanyID to each of those 20 tables in each query where the tables appear.
Firstly, I put the CompanyID in the context so now its value is accessible through the context_info() function. Thus I do not need now to pass it as a parameter to the stored procedures.
However, I don't know what is the easiest and fastest way to filter the tables. Example:

Now I have the desired filter by CompanyID. However, modifying over 200 stored procedures is rather tedious work and I don't think that this is the best approach. Is there any functionality in SQL Server that can provide the possibility to put an automatic filter to the tables. For example: when I wrote "SELECT * FROM A", the actual statements to be executed would be "SELECT * FROM A WHERE CompanyID = CONVERT(float, CONVERT(varchar(128), context_info()))".
I was looking for something like "INSTEAD OF SELECT" triggers but I didn't manage to find any answer.

Hi,please help me, i have a data driven site,i need to display a table who look like this Name Total Used RemainingA 10 5 5B 20 13 7C 12 12 if you would look on the field of total, used and remaining, they look like an excel formula which is total - used = remaining or vise versa.but the problem in this table is the database, it look like thisname On/OffA 1A 1A 0and soon....... B 1B 0B 1and soon.... until C so how do i count the total, is the number of A's or B's or C's in the whole database then Group By the 'name' fieldthen how do i count the used is the number of ON in the On/Off field while remaining is counting the Off,so my question is i have RUN this using 3 different gridview each has its own datasource, that look like this for the used select name, count(on/off) from myTable where on/off = 1 group by name for the remaining select name, count(on/off) from myTable where on/off = 0 group by name and for the total, just used the same Select but without the where clause,i get this problem when the field "used" (please refer from the 1st table) it has a blank value, which is because my data base show that in deed name "C" has not been used, but eve though it should show '0' instead of a blank, so how can i do that???please help me, thanks
I have created a table with short name as the file name but have entered the description in the column box (when creating a new table - see attached). I would like to show this description information in query analyser. Can this be done? I used sp_help <table name> but it doesn't show the description.
