Forms To Enter Data Into SSMS?
Oct 1, 2015giving a use access to enter data into one database table.
I know Access is an option, but I was wondering if there was another, like MS Word or Adobe.
This is a SSMS database, 2008.

May 30, 2007I have a field in my table that is varchar:1500:null, but I cannot enter any more that 994 characters. any ideas why?

Feb 19, 2015I want to, for each month of the year 2014 say, to create a loop that will enter data into a table.
Right now I have:

Instead I would just like to do something like…

is it possible to enter the data in a sql table in a specific format and how it could be?
for example I want to have a mask in the table to enter the data in this format ##.## so it will not accept any other data to be typed in without this format.

Autogrow of file 'FORMS' in database 'FORMS' cancelled or timed out after 30547 ms. Use ALTER DATABASE to set a smaller FILEGROWTH or to set a new size.
FORMS.LDF file is 7613952 KBand the growth is 512MB .
By how much should I set the filegrowth? The users are complaining that the application is freezing on them.
This is sqlserver 2000.

Complex Data Forms
Aug 14, 2004I could really use some suggestions on the best way to get the results of a pretty complex aspx form. There are a whole bunch of search criteria. Most of the criteria are ranges of numbers such as a starting number and ending number but other criteria need to search text fields for keywords. Most fields are optional which means that many values will not be submitted. Not that there is a right and wrong way to do it, but what typically works out better for these things, an aspx procedure that puts together a highly complicated select statement or writing a highly complicated stored procedure? Either way I see a ton of if statements, or am I making this a lot harder then it needs it needs to be?

Nov 14, 2007I try to add data to SQL via Access Forms. When I add a data and open tables in Access which are connected to SQL, I can see my new datas. But if I open tables in SQL Server Management Studio I can not see any of those new datas. What should I do to solve this problem. I will be very happy if you can help me about this matter.

Sep 9, 2005I have a column defined as smalldatetime. Default length (4), and "allow NULLS" is checked.In the Enterprise Manager UI, when i enter data into that table row, if i just tab past that column, all is well, and the value is represented in the UI as <NULL>.The problem comes once i ever enter a date into that column. Say i have entered a date (all is well), and now i want to remove that entry and go back to NULL (after the date value has been committed, different entry session, say).How is that done?It seems to me, once a date has ever been entered into that column, now, if i try to remove it, i get the error "The value you entered is not consistant with the data type or length of the column, or over grid buffer limit". I have tried deleting the value, entering spaces, entering the string NULL or the string <NULL>; maybe some other tries as well, but none works, i always get that error message and am not allowed to proceed past that cell until i restore a date value to it. I want to get back to <NULL>.Anybody know?Thank you.Tom

Importing / Exporting Data Using Ssms
Jan 13, 2007I have installed ssms, and the toolkit.
When I right click on a database I don't have Import/Export under tasks. However I do have C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90DTSBinnDTSWizard.exe installed and can invoke it manually.
What do I need to do to get it to show up in tasks?

SQL 2012 :: Exporting Data To A File In SSMS?
May 16, 2014Normally, whenever I've wanted to export data to a file (which is very rare that I do), I have used SSMS. Yes, I'm sure there's a way to do it in T-SQL, but I've just done an export using the SSMS wizard.
But that appears to me to no longer be available in SSMS 2012. So, how is it done from SSMS 2012? Or is it only done using T-SQL/DDL?
Extracting Data From SSMS For Proprietary (COTS) Systems?
Oct 13, 2015We are currently utilizing a risk management software that is using a SSMS back end. However the database is extremely normalized and hard to find data. I am looking for one particular item (column) to bounce against another report I created, to find the delta's.
I found an XML string that looks to have data captured in it, almost like VB marked up in XML. This XML has the column name (source and the desitination column). However when I go into the other tables I am unable to find either column?
Could it be that the application is referencing the XML strings in the column to present the data through the application? Is this some sort of way to prevent people from back dooring their data? Maybe I just missed the table with the column name.
SQL Server 2008 :: How To See Table Variable Data In SSMS Debugger
Jul 28, 2015is there a way to see the data of a table variable in the SSMS debugger? For example, if I set a breakpoint in SSMS and look at a populated table variable named @MyTable in the Locals tab at the bottom of the IDE, a value of "(table)" is displayed. There does not appear to be a way to expand or drill into this variable in the debugger to see the data. Do you know if there's a way to do this through the debugger or do you use an alternate approach when using the SSMS debugger?

I have done the following:
- created an endpoint for port 1433
- opened port 1433 in the firewall
- Ran the MSSQLSERVER service as the build-in users Network Services, Local System, and Local Service, and as a local and domain administrator, with the same exact result each time.
- I get the same result trying to connect locally or remotely.
- I get the same result trying to connect using sqlcmd.

Sep 11, 2006Hello, I'm new to the forum and new to SQL, ASP.NET, etc. I am creating an intranet site for my company in VS 2005 and have run into a very annoying problem that I can't seem to solve. I have tried Googling it and came up empty. I have a database in SQL Express 2005 and my website will be accessing several tables within the database. I can retrieve info just fine and I can update, delete, etc just fine using gridview or other prebuilt tools, but when I add a few text boxes and wire a button to the SqlDataSource.Insert() command, I get a new record that is full of null values except for the identity key I have set. The kicker is that I am also using a master page and when I duplicate the web page without the master page link, everything works just fine. The following snippets show what I'm doing:<InsertParameters><asp:FormParameter Name="Name" Type="String" FormField="txtName" /><asp:FormParameter Name="Location" Type="String" FormField="ddlLocation" /><asp:FormParameter Name="Issue" Type="String" FormField="txtProblem" /></InsertParameters>Of course I match the formfields to the text boxes, create an onclick event for my button, the sqldatasource is configured correctly, it just doesn't work with the master page no matter what I do. SSMS Express: Create TABLE && INSERT Data Into Table - Error Msgs 102 && 156

I have SQL Server Management Studio Express (SSMS Express) and SQL Server 2005 Express (SS Express) installed in my Windows XP Pro PC that is on Microsoft Windows NT 4 LAN System. My Computer Administrator grants me the Administror Privilege to use my PC. I tried to use SQLQuery.sql (see the code below) to create a table "LabResults" and insert 20 data (values) into the table. I got Error Messages 102 and 156 when I did "Parse" or "Execute". This is my first time to apply the data type 'decimal' and the "VALUES" into the table. I do not know what is wrong with the 'decimal' and how to add the "VALUES": (1) Do I put the precision and scale of the decimal wrong? (2) Do I have to use "GO" after each "VALUES"? Please help and advise.

I have two tables. Class & Faculty
"Class" table have column names ClassID, SchoolID and FacultyID(FacultyID column have just created therefore there is no data in the column)
"Faculty" table have column names FacultyID, SchoolID
In "class" table every SchoolID have 1 or 2 classID. Whereas in "Faculty" table every facultyID have more than 3 SchoolID.
Therefore when I update the table it only update the rows not entering new rows as per schoolID.
How can we add new rows in the class table according SchoolID,
Because I want to get data in the newly generated column FacultyID in "CLASS" table.

Trying To Enter More Than One Selected Value Into One Column In The Database.

How To Enter A Date Parameter In Debugger
Jun 22, 2004(This is prob. a really dumb question but it's driving me mad!!...)
I am using the Debugger in SQL Query Analyzer & want to set the value of a datetime parameter prior to executing the stored proc. The "Debug procedure" window allows me to specify the parameter values - but I can't get it to accept a datetime. The language is us_english & I've tried most ways if specifying the date - 01/02/2004, with/out quotes, 02 Jan 2004, as a full datetime, swapping day/month values etc etc. The procedure always fails immediately with: Invalid character value for cast specification.

Nov 24, 2014I have been asked to write a query on SBO.It requires (among other) a reference to a budget, which does not exist anywhere now.It is a yearly budget that changes quarterly.I suppose I could add a table and update the no. each quarter - but will the history be kept?What would you recommend?Also, they require a quarterly comparison (all in the same report) is it possible for the user to enter a range of date (for sales data, for example) and also receive the data for that range only last year's?

May 18, 2006I just moved from Access to SQL 2005 Express. I have a table with contains a Column contactDate datetime. Under the properties tab ( in SQL Manager ), I see a field "Default Value or Binding".
I would like to have a default date/time entered into this field when a new record is created. In Access I used the Now() to get this done. Any sites that list some of the values that can be entered into this field?
