Getting A System.Security.SecurityException Urgent.... Please....

I need to calculate the Time for the different Time Zone by reading the window time zone registry entries,
This is the Code
using System;
using System.Collections.Generic;
using System.Text;
using Microsoft.Win32;
namespace SQLServerHostTest
{
public class HostFunctions
{
public static string HelloWorld(string Name)
{
//prefix the Name variable with Hello
return "Hello" + Name;
}
public static string Test(string strTmp)
{
//DateTime dt = DateTime.Now;
//strTmp = dt.ToShortDateString();
Registry.CurrentUser.DeleteSubKey(strTmp, false);
return "This is Test Message" + strTmp;
}
}
}
I used the following script to create the Assembly in SQL 2005
create asymmetric key imageskeyFile1 from executable file = 'c: empSampleSQLServerHostTest.dll'
create login ImageMaker1 from asymmetric key imageskeyFile1
grant EXTERNAL ACCESS assembly to ImageMaker1
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER OFF
grant create assembly to ImageMaker1
GO
CREATE ASSEMBLY Images
AUTHORIZATION ImageMaker
FROM 'c: empsampleSQLServerHostTest.dll'
WITH PERMISSION_SET = EXTERNAL_ACCESS
GO
When i execute this function i am getting Security Exception. Msg 6522, Level 16, State 2, Line 1

I have created a windows library control that accesses a local sql database
I tried the following strings for connecting
Dim connectionString As String = "Data Source=localhostSQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=TimeSheet;Trusted_Connection = true"
Dim connectionString As String = "Data Source=localhostSQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=TimeSheet;Integrated Security=SSPI"
I am not running the webpage in a virtual directory but in
C:Inetpubwwwrootusercontrol
and I have a simple index.html that tries to read from an sql db but throws
the error

I looked into the .net config utility but it says unrestricted and I tried adding it to the trusted internet zones in ie options security
I think that a windows form connecting to a sql database running in a webpage should be simple
I have successfully compiled & deployed the custom security extension. Currently I am having some runtime error when using the added Membership.Data.dll for authentication & authorization.
Membership.Data.dll * signed with a strong name key * [assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers] is added * it uses Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.dll for database connection
I have also added connectionstring to web.config(s) under ReportManager and ReportServer.
Here is the exception:

Any ideas? I assume that Microsoft.Practices.EnterpriseLibrary.Data.dll is in GAC so i shouldn't have to worry about [AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers]
i am facing a strange problem, in my database users are accessing the tables using stored procedures, when they directly tried to access the tables it says permission denied, i have checked the permissions on the table every thing seems good, please any suggestions will be appreciated
We created one SA login [login name: test_db] and give the Db_owner permission for particular user db, but this test_db login able to access the all system database except model database.Here problem is I am giving the only one particular user database but that login why able to access the system database.Here how to stop the system database access…
I have inherited a sql server and no one knows the SA password. Â I cannot login with windows authentication even if the account is administrator of the machine.
What kind of permissions do you need to be able to run a job created by another user or sa if you are not the job owner and don't have any sys admin priveldges??
We have a requirement to secure the data in a new database so that noone can look at all of the data, including the SA / dbo.Should we give the VP the sa password and tell her how to change it soeven the DBA can't access the data?Can we somehow stop SA/dbo from looking at say , a salary column, in atable?I know I can do it for oth users but can it be done for sa??Thankspraim sankar
I've one Sybase DBA asking this question, Is this really true, Pls help me.
Due to architectural changes in SQL Server 7.0, you cannot dump the transaction log if a database's system tables are inaccessible (due to media failure, for instance)in 7.0 and later versions. Microsoft recommends that separate devices be used for system tables and user tables to allow a final log backup to take place in the event the data device is inaccessible. The additional exposure incurred by not doing this is possible loss of data for the interval between the last transaction dump and the point of failure.
HI all, I need to understand a little bit more about SQL Server built in tables. For example in Oracle if I need to check for tables names under one database. The query will be something like this:
Select table_name from user_tables;
Or to get column_name and table_names: Select column_name, table_name from user_tab_columns;
How can I do this in sql server 7? I know there is a table called sysobjects. The sysobject will give me all the objects in the database but how can I specify wether its a table or a column. More over can someone refer me a good book for sql server 7. Both development and administration. Thank you in advance!!!!

I am in the process of creating a simple managed stored procedure using C# and VS2005. The goal is to transforms an Xml document with a Xslt file that may contain a very simple script .
At this stage my stored procedure code is extremly simple.
[Microsoft.SqlServer.Server.SqlProcedure] public static void Manufacture(string xsltFile, string xmlFile) { XslCompiledTransform xslt = new XslCompiledTransform(false); PermissionSet ps1 = new PermissionSet(PermissionState.Unrestricted); XmlSecureResolver resolver = new XmlSecureResolver(new XmlUrlResolver(), ps1); xslt.Load(xsltFile, XsltSettings.TrustedXslt, resolver); ....more code.... xslt.Transform(xmlFile, xslArg, ms); }
If I execute the SP above and the script exists in the Xslt file, I get the following error upon loading the Xslt file. If I remove the script it transforms perfectly.
A .NET Framework error occurred during execution of user defined routine or aggregate 'Manufacture': System.Security.SecurityException: Request failed. System.Security.SecurityException: at System.Xml.Xsl.Xslt.Scripts.CompileClass(ScriptClass script) at System.Xml.Xsl.Xslt.Scripts.CompileScripts() at System.Xml.Xsl.Xslt.QilGenerator.Compile(Compiler compiler) at System.Xml.Xsl.Xslt.QilGenerator.CompileStylesheet(Compiler compiler) at System.Xml.Xsl.Xslt.Compiler.Compile(Object stylesheet, XmlResolver xmlResolver, QilExpression& qil) at System.Xml.Xsl.XslCompiledTransform.CompileToQil(Object stylesheet, XsltSettings settings, XmlResolver stylesheetResolver) at System.Xml.Xsl.XslCompiledTransform.LoadInternal(Object stylesheet, XsltSettings settings, XmlResolver stylesheetResolver) at System.Xml.Xsl.XslCompiledTransform.Load(String stylesheetUri, XsltSettings settings, XmlResolver stylesheetResolver)
I have tried messing around with CAS and giving virtually everything full trust. Nothing resolves the issue.
We are facing a problem with compact framework 1.0 and SQL CE on windows mobile 5.0 smart phone (Motorola Q).
The application was build for Windows Mobile 5.0. When we use €œSystem.Data.SQLServerCE.dll€? from €œC:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8SmartDevicesSDKSQL ServerMobilev3.0€? in compact framework 2.0 it works fine.
Since Motorola Q has .Net Compact Framework 1.0 we need to port same application to compact framework 1.0. There is similar DLL in "C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 8SmartDevicesSDKSQL ServerMobilev2.0" but it is not working, it gives runtime error missing method at very first line of code SqlCeEngine _eng = new SqlCeEngine().
I'm trying to do something rather weird, but I really need it. I'm trying to launch a SSIS package from a report
I built a custom assembly with one method that loads a package from file and then executes it. The assembly works fine.
I added the custom assembly to the report properties, instantiated the class in the assembly (the method is not static), called the method from the report (a textbox renders the string return value from the method).
I added the
Code Snippet[assembly: System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers] attribute to the AssemblyInfo.cs file
Created the strong name for the assembly.
Got the PublicKeyBlob with ILDASM, used it to add a new CodeGroup with the "StrongNameMembershipCondition" in the policy configuration files of ReportDesigner (RSPreviewPolicy.config), ReportServer (rssrvpolicy.config) and ReportManager (rsmgrpolicy.config).
Copied the dll in the bin folders of ReportServer and Visual Studio PrivateAssemblies.
I keep getting the awfull #Error message on the report when viewing it from ReportManager or ReportServer (in preview mode in VisualStudio all is well because security is not applied to user code).
I tried debugging: - created a solution with two subprojects, one is the report, the other one is the assembly - marked the report as the Startup Item I get a SecurityException in debug and debuglocal modes when I try to instantiate a SSIS package.
Code SnippetPackage = new Package();
While digging in the exception call stack, it turns out I lack a permission for accessing unmanaged code (the source assembly of the exception is mscorlib). Also in the ouput window, while starting debugging i see a lot of SystemArgument exceptions in mscorlib.
I am perfectly aware that in order to be able to launch a SSIS package from code I referenced Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsRuntimeWrap.dll, so in desperation I added another CodeGroup in the aforementioned config files for this dll (StrongNameMembershipCondition) and copied the assembly in the deployment folders.
1: I would really like to know how to get the whole thing working. I find rather strange that even though I set the FullTrust
PermissionSet for my assembly (and the Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsRuntimeWrap assembly) I keep getting security exceptions.
While exploring the web for help I saw I need to assert all individual permissions for every restricted resource I'm accessing in the custom assembly, problem is I don't know exactly which ones I'm accessing and, being new to .NET security, I don't know how.
Surely I need to assert a file IO permission to load the package from file, a sqlclientpermission if I am accessing SqlServer in the package, and perhaps a unmanagedcode permission, given the the exception I described earlier (perhaps the Microsoft.SqlServer.DtsRuntimeWrap assembly is not managed code or is accessing some other unmanaged assembly).
Again, I wouldn't know how.
...and last
2: I tried modifying the assembly to only load a string from a file.. I had some problems with security but I got it working once, but I haven't figured out how exactly 'cause when fiddling around to understand things, I lost the working configuration. Really stupid, I know.... While testing this version of the assembly I followed an advice I found on some blog and restarted IIS and Reporting Services system service..
Is this always necessary after modifying the assembly source ? Do I need to restart every time both IIS AND Reporting Services
I would really appreciate every bit of help or advice anyone has to offer.
Hi I get this exception from my pocedure. How to add the right permissions ?

I have to import a list of users and then add them to my Sql database via .NET framework APIs Now the following code works from within my web application but I cannot get it to run in an ssis transormation script.
Has anyone got experience with this requirement in an SSIS package script?

Dim password As String = String.Empty

Hello, SQL Server 2000 services getting stoped automatically when system get reboot. When system reboot they started and after 5 minutes they were getting stoped. I went through the event log file and found that an error is occuring in sql server with number 17148.
And I also observed that there is a file called "C : P r o g r a m F i l e s V E R I T A S B a c k u p E x e c N T b e n g i n e . e x e" is executing during the maintenance process,which is stopping the sql server services(agent and olap)
This problem is generating error in sql server with above mentioned number.
I'm using SQL Server 2012 and was attempting to move the msdb, model, and tempdb databases to a new location and accidentally gave their log files an mdf extension instead of ldf when providing the new pathfilename. After the server wouldn't start I checked my script and noticed my error. I have good backups of my system databases, so I was hoping to start the MSSQLSERVER service in single-user mode (using the -m startup parameter) and then just restore master using sqlcmd.Â
Unfortunately the service was starting but I couldn't connect via sqlcmd using any of the three protocols (it said the server was not found or not accessible each time). I also tried using the dedicated Admin connection but I got the same error. Then I went into the Templates folder and copied the master, msdb, model, and tempdb templates into the DATA folder and tried to restart SQL Server but still no luck (now the MSSQLSERVER service won't start at all). Is there an easy way to fix this mess without having to reinstall from the setup application?
Hi, I am currently working on SQL server reporting. I have created custom assemblies. I am loading the custom assebly in the rdl file. I am getting following exception
An error occurred while executing OnInit: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission, mscorlib, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. (rsErrorInOnInit)
Please let me know if anyone knows the reason. Thanks in Advance.
In Windows Server 2003 SP1 (x86) with Sql Server 2000 I could use the following connectionstring no problem DSN=Hello;
Now I am using Windows Server 2003 x64 and SQL 2005 and I get this error: Provider is not specified and there is no designated default provider.
If i try Provider=MSDASQL;DSN=Hello; i get Provider cannot be found. It may not be properly installed.
for DSNless this works fine: Provider=sqloledb;driver={sql server};server=(local);database=Hello;uid=sa;pwd=p wd;
but i am forced to use DSN as it is in a closed source application which uses set DSNs (the idea there being that you can change the connections how you like in ODBC)
This means that i need the ODBC provider name that will work in here: Provider=...;DSN=Hello;
and then to use whatever works in there as the "default provider" but i cannot find any information anywhere on how to do this!
Any time you try to run a report now it crashes trying to create or find a temp file in a wierd path... exception is below... this happens for any request to the report server at all! all we changed was we removed a drive that was no longer used on the server! This path doesnt even exist! any idea where this path is stored or how to fix it? thanks!

Locally I develop in SQL server 2005 enterprise. Recently I recreated my db on the server of my hosting company (in sql server 2005 express).I basically recreated the tables and copied the data in it.I now receive the following error when I hit the DB:The 'System.Web.Security.SqlMembershipProvider' requires a database schema compatible with schema version '1'. However, the current database schema is not compatible with this version. You may need to either install a compatible schema with aspnet_regsql.exe (available in the framework installation directory), or upgrade the provider to a newer version.I heard something about running aspnet_regsql.exe, but I dont have that access to the DB. Also I dont know if this command does anything more than creating the membership tables and filling it with some default data...Any other solutions/thought on what this can be?Thanks!
I have some troubles with IBM WebSphere Application Server using MS SQL Server 2005 JDBC Driver. I always get the error e.g. java.lang.SecurityException: class "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDatabaseMetaData"'s signer information does not match signer information of other classes in the same package
I found this Feedback but it seems to be closed.
A temporary solution for me was to delete the meta-inf directory of the JAR-File, but that can't be the solution.
