I'm trying to create a reprot with 30+ datasets/querys. My report is made up of tables (one for each dataset), and it starts a new page whenever a new dataset is being displayed. I would like to have a header on every page, and have it display a custom name for the dataset on that page. How do I approach this?
Thanks for any answers or leads.
I have a report that I created and the report was working until I added some fields to a group footer row in a table.
My table has 5 group levels. I had information displaying in the 5th level header group and detail. It was working fine. Then I added some fields to the 4th level group footer. Now it displays only the Page header, Table header, and the 4th level group footer data.
What happened to the rest of the data?
All the cells and rows I want to display have the Visibility Hidden set to false. I tried removing the objects I added (to the 4th level group footer) and it still does not work. Is this a bug or did I set something that is hiding the data.
I've got a user-defined function that I'd like to call and return a string to a textbox that is in my header. The rows of the report are working with with a select statement. I have something that I'd like to have in the header and am not sure how to get it.
In the properties of the textbox, I tried =dbo.udf_myfunction(), but that didn't work. So how do you assign the textbox value from a user-defined function?
I need to find out how to display, edit and save SQL information using Visual Basic. I can create an SQL database and spreadsheet, but do not know how to incroporate it into my project, and make certain pieces of the information (certain cells) appear in the labels or textboxes that I designate in my VB Project.
Is it possible to align a text box to display text with rotation? For example can I display it rotated 90 degrees left so that it reads from the bottom towards the top of the page? All I can find is left/right alignment and top/middle/bottom alignment. I want to rotate the text.
Hello I was very happy to have found the thread http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=491642&SiteID=1 that explained how to get the text to display Bottom-to-Top/Left-to-Right.
The solution was to setup a function that creates a bitmap the text to be displayed. This works well and correctly displays the text image in HTML and PDF. (Excel, XML and CVS won't export backgroud images).
To extend the solution to wrap text it requires a few additional lines...
Code Snippet Function LoadImage3(ByVal stText As String)
stText = stText.PadRight(10) stText = stText.PadLeft(10) Dim iMaxLength as Integer = 180 Dim iMaxWidth as Integer = 180 Dim f As Drawing.Font = New Drawing.Font("Arial",7, System.Drawing.FontStyle.Regular, System.Drawing.GraphicsUnit.Point) Dim bmpImage As New Drawing.Bitmap(1, 1) Dim MyGraphics As Drawing.Graphics = Drawing.Graphics.FromImage(bmpImage)
Dim imageSize As Drawing.SizeF = MyGraphics.MeasureString(stText, f) Dim i As New System.Drawing.Bitmap(iMaxWidth, iMaxLength) Dim g As Drawing.Graphics = Drawing.Graphics.FromImage(i) Dim rectF1 As New Drawing.Rectangle(-(iMaxWidth/2),-(iMaxLength/2),iMaxWidth,iMaxLength ) g.FillRectangle(Drawing.Brushes.White, 0, 0, i.Width, i.Height) g.TranslateTransform((iMaxWidth/2), (iMaxLength/2) ) g.RotateTransform(270.0F) 'flip the image 270 degrees
g.DrawString(stText, f,Drawing.Brushes.Black, rectF1) g.DrawRectangle(New Drawing.Pen(Drawing.Color.White, 1), rectF1) g.Flush() Dim stream As IO.MemoryStream = New IO.MemoryStream Dim bitmapBytes As Byte() i.Save(stream, System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg) 'Create bitmap bitmapBytes = stream.ToArray stream.Close() i.Dispose() Return bitmapBytes
End Function

I'm trying to embed a report into a CRM IFrame. So I have the report created in Business Intelligence Visual Studio 2005, but I need to display it with none of the header details SRS displays by default.
Using the following URL I included rc:toolbar=false and rcarameters=false but they don't seem to make any difference. I basically need to display the report content as if it were part of that page and not an SRS hosted page.

Adding a Databound Image to a Header or Footer You can use image data stored in a database in a header or footer. However, you cannot reference database fields from the Image control directly. Instead, you must add a text box in the body of the report and then set the text box to the data field that contains the image (note that the value must be base64 encoded). You can hide the text box in the body of the report to avoid showing the base64 encoded image. Then, you can reference the value of the hidden text box from the Image control in the page header or footer.
For example, suppose you have a report that consists of product information pages. In the header of each page, you want to display a photograph of the product. To print a stored image in the report header, define a hidden text box named TXT_Photo in the body of the report that retrieves the image from the database and use an expression to give it a value:
I am unable to display report header when I deploy the reports on report server (Internet). However, they look perfect when previewed in the BI studio. Any clue where could be the problem?
How to display the logo in middle of report header , The logo is embedded in the Image folder . The column of the report  are static. we are using SSRS 2008
I have an SSRS 2012 table report with groups; each group is broken ie. one group for one page, and there are multiple groups in multiple pages.
'GroupName' column has multiple values - X,Y,Z,......
I need to group 'GroupName' with X,Y,Z,..... ie value X in page 1,value Y in page 2, value Z in page 3...
Now, I need to display another column (ABC) in this table report (outside the group column 'GroupName'); this outside column itself is another column header (not a group header) in the table (report) and it derives its name partly from the 'GroupName' Â values:
Example:
Value X for GroupName in page 1 will mean, in page 1, column Name of ABC column must be ABC-X Value Y for GroupName in page 2 will mean, in page 2, column Name of ABC column must be ABC-Y Value Z for GroupName in page 3 will mean, in page 3, column Name of ABC column must be ABC-Z
ie the column name of ABC (Clm ABC) Â must be dynamic as per the GroupName values (X,Y,Z....)
Page1:
GroupName          Clm ABC-X
X
Page2:
GroupName          Clm ABC-Y
Y
Page3:
GroupName          Clm ABC-Z
Z
I have been able to use First(ReportItems!GroupName.Value) in the Page Header to get GroupNames displayed in each page; I get X in page 1, Y in page 2, Z in page 3.....
However, when I use ReportItems (that refers to a group name) in the Report Body outside the group,
I get the following error:
Report item expressions can only refer to other report items within the same grouping scope or a containing grouping scope
I need to get the X, Y, Z ... in each page for the column ABC.
I have been able to use this - First(Fields!GroupName.Value); however, I get ABC-X, ABC-X, ABC-X in each of the pages for the ABC column, instead of ABC-X in page 1, ABC-Y in page 2, ABC-Z in page 3, ...
This query should always return 1 row with columns visid, cid, visdate, comment. How can I get the value of visdate in textbox1? This already works when the query is in a vb sub but I want to know how to do it this way too. <asp:SqlDataSource ID="SqlDataSource1" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ connection string here%>" SelectCommand="SELECT * FROM [vis] WHERE ([visID] = @visID)"> <SelectParameters> <asp:ControlParameter ControlID="Label1" Name="visID" PropertyName="Text" Type="Int32" /> </SelectParameters></asp:SqlDataSource> <asp:TextBox ID="TextBox1" runat="server" Style="left: 117px; position: relative; top: 160px"></asp:TextBox>
As I'm searching for solutions to my problem (see my most recent post before this one if you're interested), I keep coming upon "command-based expressions." I keep seeing examples such as:
= "select a,b from table1 where c=0"
I can't put that in a textbox can I? I tried it and it just spits out the string on report execution, it doesn't actually execute the command.
So what's up? Should that be able to be put right in a textbox? That would solve a world of problems for me if it could be.
I need some help. I am writing a report in SSRS 2005 that I then need to export to Excel. When I put a report header I would expect the header to not display in the Excel spreadsheet until the Print Preview or the Print. The report footer works just fine I put some text in the footer, and it shows up in the footer. The header though, shows up as a row in the Excel spreadsheet that then causes columns to merge. How do I get the report header to act like a page header?
I am making a book-like report, I am using a report that has a header and calling a sub-report that has it's own header. However the sub-report header is not showing on the parent report. Parent report header is prevailing over the sub-report. Is it possible to have both headers displaying?
When I run the following query from Query Analyzer in SQL Serer 2005, I get a message back that says. Command(s) completed successfully. What I really need it to do is to display the results of the query. Does anyone know how to do this? declare @SniierId as uniqueidentifierset @SniierId = '85555560-AD5D-430C-9B97-FB0AC3C7DA1F'declare @SniierAlias as nvarchar(50)declare @AlwaysShowEditButton as bitdeclare @SniierName as nvarchar (128)/* Check access for Sniier */SELECT TOP 1 @SniierName = Sniiers.SniierName, @SniierAlias = Sniiers.SniierAlias, @AlwaysShowEditButton = Sniiers.AlwaysShowEditButtonFROM SniiersWHERE Sniiers.SniierId=@SniierId
There is a one header in the report, when I publish and hit the report in IE(internet explor) the header appears fine on first page when I go to next page this header does not appear.
But in mozilla the header is visible on every page of the report. so it is working fine in mozilla.
I need to have an automated process to generate and send out csv data on a set schedule. Using the sp_send_dbmail routine is working great except for one small problem I am having trouble getting around.
I am specifying a query to be run and including the results as a file attachment. The customer wants a csv file with column names.
The attachment always includes a 'separator line' of dashes between the column header and the actual data. Is there any way to eliminate this line of dashes? When I use @query_result_header = 0 flag, it removes the line of dashes, but the column names are also removed as well.
I want to keep the column names, but just remove the line of dashes.
I hope I am not asking about something that has been done before, but Ihave searched and cannot find an answer. What I am trying to do is torun a query, and then perform some logic on the rowcount and thenpossibly display the result of the query. I know it can be done withADO, but I need to do it in Query Analyzer. The query looks like this:select Varfrom DBwhere SomeCriteriaif @@Rowcount = 0select 'n/a'else if @@Rowcount = 1select -- this is the part where I need to redisplay the resultfrom the above queryelse if @@Rowcount > 1-- do something elseThe reason that I want to do it without re-running the query is that Iwant to minimize impact on the DB, and the reason that I can't useanother program is that I do not have a develpment environment where Ineed to run the queries. I would select the data into a temp table, butagain, I am concerned about impacting the DB. Any suggestions would begreatly appreciated. I am really hoping there is something as simple as@@resultset, or something to that effect.
In such a case, devising a dynamic cross-tab query, to cover all the items, and result like a pivot like the following to represent the data in a multi-header pivot like following:
I have query that return statuses and their totals, the data looks like: StatusCode Total---------- ---------A 100PS 50SI1 9SI2 8etc... The query returns over 30 totals, but I only want the top 9 totals plus others (the rest of the totals combined) . How do I go about this query? StatusCode Total---------- ---------A 100PS 50SI1 19SI2 18SI3 9SI4 8PS1 6PS2 6PS3 6Others 99 Also, have it work for queries that have 9 or less totals?
Hi, I have this query: Dim strSQL As String = "SELECT Ticketreply.Status, TicketReply.ReplyID, TicketReply.AssignedTo, TicketReply.ReplyName, TicketReply.Reply, TicketReply.Attachment, TicketReply.LastUpdated, TicketReply.Priority FROM TicketReply INNER JOIN TicketThread ON TicketThread.TicketID = @TicketID WHERE (TicketReply.TicketID = @TicketID) ORDER BY TicketReply.LastUpdated" How in the gridview do I display all the results bar the first record? It does this at the moment: First Second Third I want it to display like this: Second Third So it misses the first row. Hopefully easy for you Pro's! Any help appreciated. Cheers, Ricky
I am trying to count the number of Part that is repaired and those that is not repaired, is there a way to combine the following into one result set instead of returning 2? The bold line is the only condition that's different between this 2 query. I want to display these fields: date_complete, part_categoryid, part_model, repaired, not_repaired /* parts being repaired */select DATEADD(d,DATEDIFF(d,1,tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_datecreated),0) as date_complete, part_categoryid, part_model, count(DISTINCT part_id) as repaired from tblPtSingapore INNER JOIN tblAuditPartStatus ON tblPtSingapore.part_Id = tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_partidwhere (tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_status = N'COMPLETE')and part_replaced = 0and (part_flag_nff = 0 and part_flag_ntf = 0 and part_flag_beyondrepair = 0)group by DATEADD(d,DATEDIFF(d,1,tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_datecreated),0), part_categoryid,part_modelorder by part_model, DATEADD(d,DATEDIFF(d,1,tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_datecreated),0) /* parts completed but not being repaired */select DATEADD(d,DATEDIFF(d,1,tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_datecreated),0) as date_complete, part_categoryid, part_model, count(DISTINCT part_id) as not_repaired from tblPtSingapore INNER JOIN tblAuditPartStatus ON tblPtSingapore.part_Id = tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_partidwhere (tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_status = N'COMPLETE')and part_replaced = 0and (part_flag_nff = 1 or part_flag_ntf = 1 or part_flag_beyondrepair = 1)group by DATEADD(d,DATEDIFF(d,1,tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_datecreated),0), part_categoryid, part_modelorder by part_model, DATEADD(d,DATEDIFF(d,1,tblAuditPartStatus.auditpartstatus_datecreated),0)
I have I rather complex query and need to display a Sum in different ways. Now I'm wondering if the performance improves if you nest the queries in the described way. To me it looks, as if the sum just has to be calculated once?
select SUM(tiempo) as time_minutes, CONVERT(varchar(5), dateadd (minute,sum(tiempo),'1900-1-1 0:00'), 114) as time_hours, SUM(time)* 0.95 as time_discount from table
Select tiempo as time_minutes, CONVERT(varchar(5), dateadd (minute,tiempo,'1900-1-1 0:00'), 114) as time_hours, tiempo * 0.95 as time_discount From ( Select Sum(tiempo) as tiempo from table)a

and so on following the series for every set of different ID with 5 entries.I need to Find Maximum interval time for each ID and for condition in given message (between Start and Stop)For example, in above table
-For ID AOOze, in message "start" is logged at 7:05 and stop and 7:15, so interval is 10 mins -For ID LaOze, in message "start" is logged at 7:30 and stop and 7:45, so interval is 15 mins
I am looking for a sql query that will return in below format
Hi! I dont know if i will explain this correctly, but my problem is with reporting service. I'm supposed to Sum value in one textbox and than that sum use it in sum in other textbox.
Something like this: Sum(Fields!Abc.Value/(Fields!dfg.Value+Sum(Fields!abc.Value)),"matrix1_RowGroup1")*100 I get error msg 'The Value expression for the textbox 'textbox49' contains an aggregate function (or RunningValue or RowNumber functions) in the argument to another aggregate function (or RunningValue). Aggregate functions cannot be nested inside other aggregate functions.'
Something like this wont work either Sum(Fields!abc.Value/ReportItems("textbox56").Value)*100 Error The Value expression for the textbox 'textbox55' uses an aggregate function on a report item. Aggregate functions can be used only on report items contained in page headers and footers.
So, pls help if you know how to reference textbox in other in body of report. Thx.
