Page Header And Table Header Display But Groups And Rows Do Not
Nov 6, 2007I have a report that I created and the report was working until I added some fields to a group footer row in a table.
My table has 5 group levels. I had information displaying in the 5th level header group and detail. It was working fine. Then I added some fields to the 4th level group footer. Now it displays only the Page header, Table header, and the 4th level group footer data.
What happened to the rest of the data?
All the cells and rows I want to display have the Visibility Hidden set to false. I tried removing the objects I added (to the 4th level group footer) and it still does not work. Is this a bug or did I set something that is hiding the data.

I have the following matrix working:

I'd need to add the manufacturing date of the item to the report. For this I need an extra column next to the row header column (in red) and also a field header (in purple).
Measurement M1 Measurement M2 etc....
Art. Date Unit U1 Unit U2 Unit U1 Unit U2 etc...
Item I1 18Nov2007 123 456 120 450
Item I2 19Nov2007 111 444 110 440
I've tried copying and pasting the first column of the matrix, inserting columns or rows, but I allways end up with an extra grouping level, which I don't want.
The date is the manufacturing date of the item, so it is an attribute of the item, not a separate level of detail.
Anyone knows how to add this extra column to the row header ?
Also, how do I add a column header like "Art." or "Date" in the example above ? I was thinking of placing a text box above the first cell of the matrix, as a kludge.
Problem With Matrix Header (bug?)

I'm having a strange problem with a matrix headers.
I can't put column headers above each row group header. There is a
merged cell above them, which can't be split. If I have several row groups,
including Customer ID and Zipcode, I can't put headers above them to
identify them in the matrix. Since both have 5 numerals, they can be
confused.
Does any body know how to solve this?

Column Header For Matrix Report

Column A and B are Row Group columns in the matrix. Column C and D are the details columns. How can I add column header to column A and B. Seems I cannot do it in Reporting Services 2005.

I addressed this situation in another thread, but since the thread had not been updated for some time I felt a new thread may have been warranted to included uptodate information and requests for further updates.
I will refresh the topic's primary issue:
When using a matrix, a developer wanted to provide column headers atop the columns to help users distinquish between multiple columns of the same relative data type(columns of digits, etc.)
The space in the upper left corner of the matrix will create a void that cannot be broken down or divided so that a column header label can be applied. It's either one label for the whole void or nothing at all.

A poster suggested placing a rectangle inside the voided area above.

The problem is that when the report is run and rendered the rectangle txboxes are no longer aligned at the bottom. Even though the text within the textboxes is set to the bottom.
Instead the rendered version appears like this.

Thus rather than having the labels inside the rectangle textboxes aligned at the bottom so that they appear more in-line with their assigned columns, they are automatically top-justified and this makes the labels look awkward.
So does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the rectangle textboxes to be aligned adjacent to the tops of the row columns so that their labels appear in-line with their appropriate columns?

Report Header And Footer Size When Using Matrix

Is there a way to dynamically make report header and footer fields change location (or size)? I have many matrix reports that grow in width and then the header and footers do not look good.
Another example is I have a line that is in the header...I would like this to grow to the width of the report, which again is not static on a matrix report.

Column Header Duplicated -- Matrix Report
Apr 1, 2008I've a matrix report with two row groups. One of the row groups has been used to do alternate coloring in report rows. The issue is that the header text that I've provided for the row group repeats twice. Another interesting point to note here would be this doesn't happen in the report preview but only when the report is displayed through a report viewer in an ASP.Net application. I can guess that it must have got something to do with the invisible row group but can't get my head around on how to avoid it?
The report currently looks something like below:

Month Total Ave % Total Ave %

I hope to explain myself well - I want to make a matrix with two rows.
Lats say my data is this:
I hava a list of months and in every month I have a number of pepole and there age.
How can I show this in a matrix?
It need to be in a matrix since I need the columns to expand acording to the month but I don't know how to create two diffrent rows in my matrix.
The data should look like this:
10/06 11/06 12/06 01/07 02/07 03/7 04/07 .....

CSV Header Rows

I am seeing some behaviour I don't understand. I can't believe it hasn't been discussed here before, but my searches have returned nothing.
Here it is.
I have a CSV file. Its first rows look like this:

So, there are three lines of miscellaneous information, one line of column names, and the data to be imported begins on row 5.
So I import with this:
BULK INSERT tableName FROM 'file.csv'
WITH (FIELDTERMINATOR = ',',FIRSTROW = 5)
And the first line to be imported is the one beginning with 183!
This does what I want:
BULK INSERT tableName FROM 'file.csv'
WITH (FIELDTERMINATOR = ',',FIRSTROW = 2)
I can insert as many lines starting with # as I want and it works fine.
What is going on?

Incorrect Totals In My Header Rows

Forgive me if this has been answered in previous posts but I need some assistance fast . I have created a report that shows Activity Time per Area. On my table, Group #1 is grouped by the Request Area and Group #2 by the Ticket Num. If you look at the 2nd group (ticket #'s), the totals at the ticket level for Avg Time Open are correct but when I try to use the same formula (=IIF(Fields!active_flag.Value = "0", (Fields!close_date.Value-Fields!open_date.Value)/3600, nothing) for Group #1, it doesn't calculate correctly (it seems to only select one record and not always the first record). For Example:

Reporting Services :: How To Get SSRS To Repeat Header Rows
Sep 10, 2015I have an SSRS report I'm working on. I have Row Groups plus details.
A) How can I get the row group headers to repeat on every line?
B) I would still like to use the drill down, click the plus sign, and have that work when I export to excel.
Here is the report header: URL....My first thought was is there a way simply to cause the header to repeat. I cannot find that anywhere to do that.My second though was to split the cells and copy the fields to all the rows.Here is the same header with split cells:URL....two problems.
A) I cannot split one cell; See the "X" in the second capture.
B) How do I still hid the rows until I drill down.

Header Rows To Skip On Flat File Import/Export
Aug 29, 2006Just attempting to import a simple tab delimited text file into my SQL Server 2005 database using the SQL Server Import and Export wizard. Column names are specified within the first line of the file. The Header Rows to Skip field value is listed as 0, but the wizard indicates that "The field, Header rows to skip, does not contain a valid numeric value".
Why isn't zero (0) a valid numeric value? I don't want to skip any rows. PLUS, I get the same error when trying to export to a text file although the header rows to skip field does not exist. I can increase the number to 1 or more, but the wizard will skip part of my data .. unacceptable.
What am I missing here? I installed SP1 of SQL server 2005, but that did not help.

Can I Split Matrix Into 2 Or 3 Rows?

I have a matrix with single row. The no. of column varies and sometimes goes to 10-15. So it goes to next page and while exporting it inserts blank pages when exported to PDF. I need the column width at least 2.5cm. I need to break the matrix to next row instead of it going to next page say after 6th or 8th column. I tried to work with the example given in the site http://blogs.msdn.com/chrishays/archive/2004/07/23/HorizontalTables.aspx by Chris Hays. But it is showing matrix for each Row Group, which doesn't meet my requirement.
I had a work around which worked by putting two matrix one below the other and filtering the columns to be shown in each matrix.
If anybody faced this issue or anybody solved the issue kindy reply which will be very helpful for me.
One more doubt, Can I get the Column number of the matrix?

2. Can I add another row to the subtotal area, having two subtotal rows?
I need to achieve the following output:

What I want is to use the subtotal as a variance-field for the two selected years by the user. It could happen that a customer doesn't generate turnover in one year, then the subtotal has to be 0 or 100 or whatever.
If my suggestions aren't applicable then I'd like to know If there is another possibility to display the desired results.

Table And Matrix Rows Problem
Jul 19, 2007I have a table and matrix placed next to each other in my report:
[Table displaying ProjectInfo, Revenue, etc.. ][Matrix displaying Monthly Distribution]
When I run the report, the result set returns say 100 rows for table and a row for each project in Matrix. The header and detail rows of table and matrix are perfectly aligned with each other, however, on the first page the table displays 47 rows and then breaks while the matrix displays 50 and breaks. On the next page the Matrix is three rows shorter. As a result the bottom of each control does not align on any page.
Any ideas what could be going wrong or how to fix this?

Conditionally Hide 2 Out Of 6 Rows In A Matrix?

I just spent about 30mins searching through the forums for this and saw several posts, but I didn't find a straight answer that seems like it would work for my report. How can I add only 2 data rows to a group (to hide them via the group's visible properties) and keep the rest of the rows outside of the group, but still in the same column (vertical area), as shown:

Changing Header Rows To Skip Property In Flat File Connection During Runtime

I have a flat file.I am trying to set the value for the property "HeaderRowsToSkip" during runtime.I have set an expression for this in my "flat file connection manager". But this is not working.The connection manager is not able to take the value during runtime.
My expression is as follows:
DataRowsToSkip : @[user:: Var]
where "Var" is my variable which gets the value from the rowcount component and trying to set it back to the "HeaderRowsToskip" property.
I ve even tried setting the value to the "HeaderRowsToSkip" property in the expression builder.
Its not working....
Can anyone help me out in solving this????

Making Crossed Rows With A Matrix Object

I have this data model: there is 4 tables A, B, C and D. The constraints says that a identity row in the table A is the forain key in the table B, and the same row is a forain key in the table C. The table D have two forain keys with the table C and B.

I need make in a part of a report this: for each row of the table D the report have to print the row of the table C that has found by the constraint and then in the next row the report have to print the row of the table B found by the other constraint. It could looks like this:

The Problem that I have is that If in the table D are more rows, ie. 3, the report have to crossed sort the next rows such this
C.field1
B.field1
C.field2
B.field2
C.field3
B.field3
In the report with a matrix I have done more or less this, but not exactly that I need to implement. cuz in this way the report returns to me this:
C.field1
C.field2
C.field3
B.field1
B.field2
B.field3
anoter solution that I tried to implement is do this, in a single field write this "Fields!C1.Value & vbCrLf & Fields!B1.Value" but the problem with this is that the fields of the table B are not the same or the same number that in the table C. So this isn't the solution too.
So wonderfull developers, anyone have any idea or know how to resolve this? THX!!!

Jan 18, 2008I've got what I thought was a fairly simple matrix request, but just can't seem to do it in reporting services.
In the rows, things are grouped by campaign. In the columns, things are grouped by district. Something like this:
Area1 Area2 Area3 Total
CampaignType1 1 2 3 6
CampaignType2 2 4 1 7
CampaignType3 3 3 1 7
Total 6 9 5
Campaign and Area are all selectable by parameters, so the actual number of rows is dynamic.
What I would like to do is an additional aggregates other then sum for the total - things like average, percent to goal, etc.
Area1 Area2 Area3 Average % attained Total
CampaignType1 1 2 3 2 60% 6
CampaignType2 2 4 1 2.33 70% 7
CampaignType3 3 3 1 2.33 70% 7
Total 6 9 5
And this is where, either I'm completely missing something, or SSRS and I have a huge communication breakdown . I absolutely cannot seem to do this. I tried adding additional columns, but they are grouped under area, not after it - in the above example, it would result in three new columns, one for each area type, not 1. Confusing to describe, but looks something like:
Area1 Area2 Area3 Total
Sum Avg Sum Avg Sum Avg CampaignType1 1 xx
CampaignType2 2 yy
CampaignType3 3 zz
Total
I hope that conveys the idea w/o having to fill it all in.
I'm lost as to how to get this accomplished. All I can think of is adding a union dummy row into the actual stored proc to make a different area type (say, AreaAverage) just to add in an additional column and that make sure it sorts at the end. That screams hack to me. Any help????

I have a report in wich I show a list of countries. The length of this list differs each month and comes from a SSAS datasource.
I want to show this list on my report in a matrix like this:

country3 country8
country4 country9
country5 country10
How can I do this? I need some sort of check that counts the number of countries added and then adds a new column after 5 countries.
I'm sure there is somebody that did this or knows how to do this.

How Do I Show All Columns In A Matrix Even If There Are No Data Rows Using The Column On A Given Page?
May 31, 2007I have one column in a matrix component and it has about 7 items, but the only the items which have values on the page appear at the top of that page.
This is for a labratory so the columns are the different Patient Types and the rows are the different Test Mnemonics. If one of the Patient Types is not used in any of the tests on that page, it doesnt show up. How to I make sure all Patient Types show up on every page?
