I need help to hide [+]/[-] sign when a group doesnot have any item in it. Currently, I have a table with a group header where I put the companyName and in the detail section I put the users for that company. I want that, if a company doesnot have any users then there should not be any [+]/[-] sign next to it. Please help!!

I tried a lot of things... without success.

I am creating a report with a Matrix and this report contain a collapse Matrix which it toggle from a certain field.
Now I am having two issue:First issue is that when I set visibility to hide and that the matrix can be toggle by a field is leaving a very unaesthetic  space between rows.
The second problem is that when I toggle the field I would like another part of the report to hide.
Does it exists anything that would allow me to define an expression I can use in the visibility that I Can use to make disappear this part of the report when the + has been toggle and make it appear back when the - has been toggle?
I have a dimension named Products with the following hierarchy:

Sub Type
Product
Due to requirements I want that a particular product, whose name is, say, "XYZ" should not be displayed when the user drills down to the lowest level i.e. the Product level.
I tried playing with the Advanced Properties tab but could not make any progress and thus will be grateful for help.

Level 2 Cust Rank
Level 3 Cust Name
Suppose that the possible CustTypes are "Potential", "Active", "Lost".
Is it possible to hide displaying Level 1 and below if the Custtype (Level 1) = "Potential"

We know we have a option in the excel pivot 'Show properties in tooltips check box where we can hide or display the member properties. But I need an option in the cube to hide the member properties by default and display in the excel depends on demand.

I have a SSRS 2005 report with a table and several groupings. These groupings are made visible with toggle items.
I am trying to determine how to make the associated group headings (entered within table header) visible or not visible depending on the visibility state of the groupings.
Example: (initial state with group1 only visible)
Group1 Heading Count Sum
+Group1 999 999
(click + sign to make visible group 2)
Group1 Heading Group2 Heading Count Sum
-Group1 999 999
+Group2 888 888
etc.. for remaining groups
I've tried toggling the table header column the same way I did the group, but the group scope isn't available so I don't know what to use. (Manually putting it in causes report error.)
I don't know what visibility expression to use because I can't figure out what report item I can look at to determine the group's visibility "status" in order to make an expression.
Any ideas?
Note: I did see a similar post from sadsac, but the "answer" didn't address this.

I have five rows in a group header.
The top row is a true header row with details that will always be there and will always be visible.
The bottom four rows have their Visibility.Hidden property set to 'TRUE'.
All four of the bottom rows are assigned the same Visibility.ToggleItem.
Of the four bottom rows, any or all of them may not have data at any one time.
I want to find a way of allowing the rows to toggle from hidden to visible, but if one or all of the rows have a field item whose value is 0 then that row must remain invisible regardless of whether it is toggled.
I am still working on this puzzle, but if someone can provide me with an easy solution while I struggle, I would greatly appreciate it.

I have a table that has a group on ProductTypes. This group is set to PageBreak at end.
What I need to do is to conditionally hide an entire column based on the current group's ProductType.
Examples
Page 1 = Product 1 = Column 1 is visible
Page 1 = Product 1 = Column 2 is visible
Page 2 = Product 2 = Column 1 is hidden
Page 2 = Product 2 = Column 1 is visible

I'm using SSRS 2005
I'm trying to write an expression for the "Hidden" property of a column in a table. The column is only populated with data if the group on my table is open. If the group is collapsed, then the column is empty. I'd like to make the column hidden if the group is collapsed. So I'm thinking it would be something like this:
=Iif(Table_1_Group.Hidden = "True", "True", "False")
But I can't find anyone who has written this anywhere.
I'm basically trying to make this report do the same thing a matrix does, but the matrix doesn't let me label the columns. I put textboxes above the matrix in line with the columns, but when I deploy the report to ReportManager, the textboxes get thrown all over the place and don't line up with the columns anymore.
So I guess if you can't answer the first question, an alternate question I have is how are you supposed to label the columns (row groups) in your matrix? They don't have headers, if I try to line textboxes up with them they get all messed up during deployment. They have that textbox up there in the top left corner that runs across the top of all of the row group columns, but if I put labels separated spaces in that textbox, the spaces get removed in rendering so the text is pushed all to the left and doesn't line up anymore.

I have a report that has three levels of grouping including headers (containing titles) and footers (containing summary values). I would like to programatically show/hide these header/footer sections based on a Show/Hide paramter. Is that possible? Currently I work around the problem by just having two physical reports (one with the header/footers, one without)

I've an serious issue with SSRS 2005.
When I export Report to PDF file then it converts Japanese Char into ?????.
There is a report which is keeping Japanese as well as English characters.
Is Export of SSRS does not support Unicode Characters?
We are in last stage of Project and we found this issue,
And it is creating very problem for us.
Is there any way to resolve this issue.

Greetings,VWD EE and other Tools do not have problems working O.K. on my machine, when I am logged-on as restricted(limited) user, both environment and local web server are functioning, and it was MS effort to do it right.BUT the Problem is, when I try to connect to database->new DB connection(either through vwd or management studio etc). I get an Error - which should be written to event log (according to msg) but it isn't - that I can't connect. I am sure that it is because NO SQL SERVER2005EXPRESS instance is running, which I think is the only prerequisite to have it work (I do not need sqlbrowser service I am doint local development).SQL2005express service is configured on MANUAL start. I can start it as administrator through SQL config manager, but it is not convienient and what I want. I need to start it ONLY as a developer user, I do not want it to be running all-the-time for everyuser using computer. It was congigured as Network Service logon, I tried Local Service logon, and I even tried configuring it to logon as -my developer user- account, e.g. with limited user name and his password.In every case I can't start the service as member of users group and this developer. Then I added limited user to SQL2005EXPRESS group. Still NO help, won't start either.My question is, If I want to start developing ADO2.NET application and I need to have running SQL2005Express instance as a develper, how can I start it? I think I do not have some rights to masterDB or something. Do it allways need to be running when computer starts? Isn't there any other way, to start it JUST when I think I start developing?I know of user-mode of accessing SQL2005express DBs, but it also assumes that SQL2005Express service is already running, what I am trying to prevent. I have seen other places where this question is asked, but I am still not seeing the answer clearly. If I have many groups that are collapsed and I want to expand them all at the same time, it there a way to accomplish this? Many talk about a param that can be passed in, but even if you have the parameter set, this is only for the initail state, is it not?

I have a website with multiple pages and when a user signs in it puts a 1 in the database and their online status is shown to the rest of the members, if they use my signout button which I have on each page, it signs them out and updates the database with a 0 in the process, so shows them as then offline, my problem is some people forget to sign out and just close the browser window or begin surfing elsewhere.
Is there a way to have sql server 2000 automatically change the field in the database after 30 minutes of inactivity.
Or is there a way to automatically sign users out as they either click on the X in the browser window, or as they leave my site.
Any help would be appreciated.

I typed the following query
ALTER TABLE [konnik].[PORTAL_CONFIG]

and i received the following warning
Warning: The table 'PORTAL_CONFIG' has been created but its maximum row size (12068) exceeds the maximum number of bytes per row (8060). INSERT or UPDATE of a row in this table will fail if the resulting row length exceeds 8060 bytes.
Bear in mind that this table come from Access through the Dts. Could anyone translate this for me? How can i overcome this???

I have an SSRS 2012 table report with groups; each group is broken ie. one group for one page, and there are multiple groups in multiple pages.
'GroupName' column has multiple values - X,Y,Z,......
I need to group 'GroupName' with X,Y,Z,..... ie value X in page 1,value Y in page 2, value Z in page 3...
Now, I need to display another column (ABC) in this table report (outside the group column 'GroupName'); this outside column itself is another column header (not a group header) in the table (report) and it derives its name partly from the 'GroupName' Â values:
Example:
Value X for GroupName in page 1 will mean, in page 1, column Name of ABC column must be ABC-X Value Y for GroupName in page 2 will mean, in page 2, column Name of ABC column must be ABC-Y Value Z for GroupName in page 3 will mean, in page 3, column Name of
ABC column must be ABC-Z
ie the column name of ABC (Clm ABC) Â must be dynamic as per the GroupName values (X,Y,Z....)

I have been able to use First(ReportItems!GroupName.Value) in the Page Header to get GroupNames displayed in each page; I get X in page 1, Y in page 2, Z in page 3.....
However, when I use ReportItems (that refers to a group name) in the Report Body outside the group,
I get the following error:
Report item expressions can only refer to other report items within the same grouping scope or a containing grouping scope
I need to get the X, Y, Z ... in each page for the column ABC.

I have come across a bit of problem with my Web Form. I have standard textbox which inserts a value into a SQL 2000 database. However if I put a pound sign anywhere inside the text box and do the insert it disappears when I try and reshow the value.
I have checked the database field to see if it has been inputted but its no where to be seen.
So what has happened to my pound sign? any ideas?
I am using VS.Net 2003.

I have a SQL 7 db that I use a DTS package to import Oracle data into. The package works fine and imports all the appropriate data. However, if I use an Access 2000 database to attach to the data via ODBC (using the MS SQL Server driver), the negative sign is dropped when displaying data in a table, query, or report.
Same problem in SQL Server - if I query the SQL 7 data via the Query Analyzer, the negative signs are dropped. However, if I query the SQL data using the Enterprise Manager (i.e., Open Table...Return All Rows via right click on the table), the data shows up properly with the negative signs there. Bottom line - the data is correct, but doesn't get displayed correctly in QA or via ODBC.
What gives?! Can anyone explain to me the "connections" that occur between EM and QA? Looks like QA uses a "temporary" ODBC connection to talk to the data, while the EM connects "directly" to the data. Also, what gives with the MS SQL Server ODBC driver - why wouldn't it display the negative signs? Is there a better SQL Server ODBC driver that I should/could use? I've tried configuring the ODBC connection differently, but to no avail.
Any help is greatly appreciated, as the data in question is being used in court and absolutely HAS to be accurately displayed.

Does anyone know to include the Euro sign in SQL statements. I found an Ascii
code of ALt+0128, but then I use CHAR (0128) it actually prints the Char (128) which is Ç not €.
When I use the € directly in the code the application just shows a ?
Any help would be highly appreciated.
