Can anyone give me info on how the report processing page works in reporting services.
My application makes some pretty heavy queries to the database and I would like to have a message appear on the page whilst the request is being processed.
Something identical to the way reporting services deals with this would be absolutely perfect!
Any ideas?
I was wondering if there was any way to add a value field to a report, with the time it took for the report to Process.
It would probably be a text field with an Expression, but don't know how that would go.
I know that in Expression there is a value for ExecutionTime (when report began to run), but nothing about when it ends.Can this be done? and if yes, how?

I have three SSRS reports that I modified. The original reports had several subscriptions associated with them. When I deployed the new reports, I placed the old reports into a folder called Archive and renamed them. Now I have these new reports with the original names of the first versions of the reports.
My question is is it possible to somehow replicate the schedules of the original reports to the new reports? There are about 30 subscriptions with between 5-10 recipients, and it would be a real pain to have to manually recreate those subscriptions.
I have a report whose parameters are limited by the user who is logged in. Ex. if a user had full access they would see all 100 hospitals in our hospital parameter, if another user had limited access they might only see 5 - this will vary largely on who is logged in. The data source that drives these parameters are set as follows:
Credentials stored securely in the report server, username and password are entered and Impersonate the authenticated user after a connection has been made to the data source is checked.I now want to cache this report for X minutes. So I goto Properties/Execution and select 'Cache a temporary copy of the report. Expire copy of report after a number of minutes'.
Applying this gives me the error: Credentials used to run this report are not stored.

I had contemplated injecting JavaScript into the report, but this appears virtually impossible to do i a simple manner.
I am using Report Viewer 2013 to display Reports, using rdlc to bind the data in visual studio.

I have a RS 2008 R2 SP3 Service in SharePoint Integrated Mode.
Since 5 days my Subscriptions were not sent anymore. I did no changes to these machines. There were some data driven subscriptions in pending state. I delete these entries via SharePoint.
When I look at Report server Execution Logs, there is no error, that i can associate to subscriptions. New Subscription are created and deleted in the Log, but they will never been processed.
I have done a Reboot to the RS Box but, that was not the solution.
If I have an asp page with a button, what are the means or methods to trigger the event to process a report, save into a report and store in a file server or any directory? All these is done backend without the need to display to the browser.
Using RS Web services or Delivery extension programming things like that?

I got a problem with my project on reporting services. I installed MS SQL Server 2014 (86x version), Report Builder 3.0 (for creating my reports) and Data Tools for my SQL Server.Now I created a report via Report Builder 3.0 with a SAP NetWeaver as a data source. I could create and view it in Report Builder 3.0.
But when I want to view it on my Report Server it doesn't work. I only get this error."An error has occurred during reporting processing. (Processing Aborted) An attempt has been made to use a data extension 'SAPBW' that is either not registered for this report server or is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services. (rsDataExtensionNotFound)" ...
I found on the internet a few solutions. I installed the Data Tools for the 86x version of the SQL Server. Didn't work. And when I want to change some coding in "RSReportDesigner.config" it says that I'm not allowed to save the changes in this directory.
I am using Custom Data Processing Extension to call a stored procedure. Iam getting following error when creating a dataset in report designer using the extension. I wrote the code in c#.

I have used this code pasted below to show message box in reports in Reporting services 2000.It works and pops up but only in development environment but not in production.I mean to say it works in Preview mode but when I have deployed the report it doesn't work.Doesn't even show any error message.

I'm getting the following error message when I go to the preview tab:
An error has occurred during report processing.
Cannot read the next data row for the data set DataSet1.
What does this mean, and how can I fix it?
I have a report created in Business Intelligence Project.I want to trigger my report result. If it has no returned value, it creates error message displayed on the screen. How could I do this?
Any guidance please.

Server status is red.
I think I might have left the domain name blank when I installed this. Is there anyway to enter one later. I have tried to change this through add/remove programs and do not get a chance to change this field

Our DBA has installed reporting services on a server and now in order to access the report manager, one has to be an Admin on that Server. I am guessing that there is a mistake in the configuration of Reporting Services. Usually it should allow anybody who was added to the roles in the properties section of the Report Manager, right? I have also added the users to the DB..
Also I am using Windows Authentication to access Report Catalog items (Reporting Services is installed on Server2) from a web Application(deployed on Server1) and displaying the report using report viewer. For some reason, server1 has to be in an Admin role on Server2 to access the report catalog/report. This is kinda strange for me as I don't want everybody to be an Admin on Server2. Can anybody please point in the right direction?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have written a report visual studio. The report has 10 multi-value parameters that pull data from their individual data sets within the reports. When running the report from within Visual Studio it renders fine. There are no errors reported, only a warning related to a pathname I have use to retrieve image data and display on the report.Deployment of the report is error free.When I view the report I briefly get the "Loading" splash window, but then nothing. None of the headers or static text is displayed. The results window is blank.
The report defaults all the parameter values. In trying to debug the issue I have found by reducing the number of parameter values the report will render. Once I have all the values added, the report does nothing.Below is the query being used for the report. The where clause in the query shows the parameters being used and the syntax.We are running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and SQL Server 2008 R2.

We are about to implement SSRS reports (SQL Server 2012), and have found one issue we don't like. The report looks great when we open it in pdf format. However, when we open it in Excel format, we want it to be the raw data, not look like the pdf report. I tried the simpl headers, and that removed the page header/footer. However, the report format was still in play.In other words, we would like the report when opened in Excel, to look just like it does when we open it as a CSV.I have tried to modify the config file a couple of times. Here is my latest attempt:

Essentially I have set Visible = "false" for the Excel type, and tried to duplicate the CSV, changing the name to make it look to the user like it is "Excel". This fails. I checked the event viewer, and I see two entries.. The RSReportServer.config file has been modified. (Information)The value for UrlRoot in RSReportServer.config is not valid. The default value will be used instead.I literally took the file, opened it in Notepad, pasted in my changes, from another notepad window, and tried to run the report. I did not see EITHER of the two names I expected, using the OverrideNames tag. As I said earlier, I was able to affect the outcome, by setting SimpleHeaders to true (or however it is identified). That did work in that the page header and footer was removed.
I have a ssrs report having 2 tables in with 4 columns in each. When I go to export option in preview I can see all data coming in one excel sheet, But I am trying to get 2 tables in 2 different pages in Excel when I export.First page of excel comes with first table data with 4 columns and second page of excel comes with second table data with 4 columns .

Is there any way to not display the expression in the Total columns unless the report is expanded?
I have few reports under different folders in Report Manager. Is there a way to set the data source for the whole folder rather than each report individually? There is also a folder where reports generate dynamically. Since the report project doesn't exist anymore, I can't set the data source through code. How can I set the data source for the whole folder?

It prompts for login when i wanted to run the report and i used the same windows authentication to sign in
It will show me the parameters but when i click on view report it gives this error

I want to repeat line on each page of report on PDF while using 2 columns on report. The problem is that if i use table border it will also repeat after second table. i want a line between two tables.
