How Do I Change The Currency Format?

Nov 28, 2007

It's probably right underneath my nose, but I cannot seem to be able to set the currency format.

My Stored procedure returns an integer that represents a cash value in pennies (like cents).

I then divide this value by 100 and convert it to a Double, so its value is represented in Pounds.

This all works fine, my problem is that when I wrap the above logic in a FormatCurrency, I get a dollar ($) sign before it. How can I change this so that it gives a pound sign (£)?

Format Currency

May 28, 2008

How do I get data that looks like 200,000 returned as a currency format?

Here is what I have in my select statement it doesn't work and can't seem to find an example that works or maybe I just have it set up wrong?

'$' + convert(Sum(OrderHeader.SubTotal)as money) as 'Total Sales'

Ultimately I have a field that is returned and it exists on a reporting services report. I can't find a way just to format the field as currency through the properties either would that be the better way to do it if there is a way?

Currency Format

Dec 14, 2006

The $ must appears only on certain total levels and has to be in the same position in the column regardless of the value for financial reporting. In other words, I don't want the $ to float next the most significant digit in the value. See the example below from Excel. Using an IIF statement I can concatenate the $ to the string when it is a certain group level. However, I have tried many various formatting strings but can't find one that results in a fixed number of characters so that the $ will always appears in the same position in the column.

Anyone have a way to do this?

General Government
222
3.45%
$ 405,590,654
1.98%

Public Buildings
194
3.01%
375,453,314
1.83%

Other Facilities
22
0.34%
21,324,140
0.1%

Property Acquisition
6
0.09%
8,813,200
0.04%

Grand Total
6,439
100.0%
$ 20,507,977,298
100.0%

I did get this to work by adding a column to the grouping. That somehow causes the heading size to increase (??) and takes much more time than coding a format code in an expression (I have many reports to do).

Input String Was Not In A Correct Format For Formatted Currency

Nov 17, 2005

Ok, when I bind a textbox in my FormView I'm changing the format to
currency (<%# Bind("TotalValue","{0:c}") %>).  When I click
Update I get "Input string was not in a correct format" since
TotalValue is Int32 data type.

Shouldn't it convert it back to Int32 when it updates the db?  Or do I have to do it manually, and if so how?

Change Format Of Dates

Mar 14, 2007

I don't know why my company did this, but dates are being stored in a char field within our database. Meanwhile, I've been setting up new pages using datetime.
That's just a little back story. My question is, is it possible to change the format of all dates in the table from yyyy/MM/dd to MM/dd/yyyy in the char field? I'm just trying to think of an easier way to change a thousand or so records instead of doing it manually.
Thanks.

Change Date Format To DD/MMM/YYYY?

Feb 22, 2015

I have created a table with a field Register_Date in DATE format. However, it results showed me 21/12/2008 I would like to change it to 21/Dec/2008.

How do I change that using SQL command? I tried to Google and used codes like below and it will not work.

SELECT CONVERT( CHAR(6), Register_Date, 106 )
FROM REG

The error message was ORA-00936: missing expression

I also tried:

SELECT replace(convert(char(15),Register_Date,106),' ',' - ')
FROM REG

and it gives it the same error message.

How Can I Change The Format Of A Date Returned From Asp:calendar

Aug 24, 2007

Hello!
I have a table in an SQL database, in which I have a field in datetime format.
In my aspx page I would like to get the date the user chooses from an asp: calendar I have and submit it to the DB.
I already have all the code ready, the datasource, the gridview, all other fields to submit, and I just added a template field with the asp:calendar so that the user could choose a date.
IĀ“m getting this error when I run the page: "Conversion from type 'Date' to type 'Boolean' is not valid."
It seems to be a problem about the date that is given by the Calendar object (?) and the one I should submit to my DB.
HereĀ“s the part of the code where I have my standard Calendar binded to the correspondant field:                        <asp:Calendar ID="Calendar1" runat="server" SelectedDate='<%# Bind("data") %>' Visible='<%# Eval("data") %>'>                        </asp:Calendar>
IĀ“m gessing I should probably change the format of the date somehow before submit it to the DB, but how?
Thank you all,

RR

Change The Date Format Of A Smalldatetime Column.

Jan 31, 2007

Hello people.

Please, is there any way to change the date format of a smalldatetime column of a table in SQL Server Express?

What I mean is that the default date format for a column which type is smalldatetime is "MM/dd/yyyy" but I'm developing a localized application and the date format that I would like to use is "dd/MM/yyyy", so I would like to know is if there any way to change this.

I know that I could write some code in my application in order to do the conversion, but I would like to avoid this because I'm using the databinding property of the control and if I have to write a piece of code in order to do the conversion, I will loose this functionality.

I'm currently using WindowsXP SP2, SQL Server Express 2005, SQL Server Management Studio Express and VB.Net 2005 Express Edition. All applications including the OS are USA English version. The application that I'm writing is being localized to PT-BR (Brazilian Portuguese).

Any help and suggestions are very welcomed.

Thanks a lot for all your time and attention.

Rodrigo.
