You can see the method at line number 32. I could not figure out the way to implement it although i know full text search is a good choice.I have following table adapterGetProducts(); GetProductsByManufacturerName(); GetProductsByManufacturerID(), and GetProductsByUPCCode();Product table contains UPCCode, Description, Size columnsBut i need to get the product which returns the description containing search query. Query To Find Databases In Full Mode
May 4, 2007I have a stored proc that runs through my databases doing transaction logs. Currently it uses database names but this keeps being changed as a database will be added without me knowing. Next thing the transaction log job is goosed.
I really need something along the lines of select db from sys???? where mode = 'Full'

My Result expectation is: The First Record should come. But the result of the query bring the two records. It see the "SQL Server" string also. I need to find the exact word. How to do it? Please answer me as soon as possible. Ganesh.
Cannot Find Mdf Files
May 16, 2007I have created a database on SQL Express using SQL Server Manager Express. However, when I try to connect to it in Visual Studio 2005, I cannot find the .mdf file so cannot create the project datasource. Can someone tell me where it is? Searching through the files does not find it. Knowing it cannot be obtained directly and needs to be rebuilt some other way would be helpful.

If I remove the last 1 from the search string i get lot of records, Can anybody help me out.

Can I Edit SDF Files Without Full SQL Server License?
Jun 11, 2007I'm trying to open an SDF file. After many searches on the net, it appears that there are two ways to do this:
Open the file in VS 2005
Open the file in SQL Server Management StudioI don't have, and don't plan to purchase, a license to full SQL Server 2005. I do have Visual Studio 2005 Pro. When I open an SDF file in Visual Studio, I get the following (oh so informative) error:
The operation could not be completed. Unspecified error
Since I don't have full SQL server, I downloaded SQL Server Management Studio Express. There's one major problem: the Server type combo box is disabled in the "Connect to Server" dialog. Try as I might, I can find no mention anywhere as to why this is the case. I'm guessing that functionality isn't supported in the Express version of the tool, but as far as I can tell, nobody thinks it might perhaps be reasonable to document why this combo box is disabled. It certainly doesn't show up in the document that shows up when I click the help button on this dialog.
Could somebody at Microsoft please tell me if it is even possible to edit these files without buying a full SQL Server license? I'm trying to use SQL Server Compact Edition to replace legacy code that uses an MDB file (via ADO) for a desktop application. From everything I have read, this is the officially recommended thing to do. But if I now have to buy a full SQL Server lincense to accomplish what used to be a simple double click on an MDB file, then there's something seriously wrong.
Full-text Indexing Doesn't Work For Pdf Files
Oct 26, 2007I have SQL 2005 on 64 bit cluster OS is Windows server 2003 SP2.
We have full-text enabled on one table of the database. It has doc,xls,pdf and swf type of documents. Now full text works for word and excel docs but not for pdf files.
I searched online and found two commands to execute after installing Adobe 6.0 ifilter. I did it last week and then server was rebooted last weekend so it restarted all the services

still pdf full text search is not working. Does this ifilter from Adobe works for 64 bit?

Full-text Indexing Doesn't Work For CSV Files.
Nov 21, 2007I am able to perform full text searches if I inform SQL Server the file is a text file but when I set the correct type as a csv the file does not get indexed.
Also nocticed that I have two IFilters one that comes with SQL and the other with Office they have the same name and just the one that is on system32 handles CSV files, office files are processed correctly.
This are the IFilter locations:

I have a valid CSV but when I run the FiltDump.exe command I get:

Using A Regular Expression In MSSQL 2005 To Find Patterns Buried In A Field Full Of Misc Data

I am using MSSQL 2005 and have created a function that allows me to use regular expressions in my SQL queries.
My question is I have a pattern buried in a field of misc data that I need to pull out just that pattern and discard the rest of the data. Here is the Regular Expression I am using
select field1 from table1
where dbo.RegExMatch (field1,'[a-zA-Z]{4}[0-9]{6}[a-zA-Z]{2,4}')=1
This returns all values in the field that match the expression. What I want to do now is remove all data from the field on the left and right of the expression that does not match the expression. How would I accomplish this without reading through the 200k+ records and writing rules for every exception I run across?

Full-index Does Not Fully Populate When Doing Start Full Population
Nov 5, 2007I have sql server 2000. I copied a database from one server to another. I have one table that has a full-text index. When I transferred over the database, the index still existed, but was not populated. I made sure the path for the file is pointing to a new correct location. I did "start full population". It only populated one entry @ 1MB. On the old server the index is 100MB with more than 3 million records.
I tried rebuilding, re-creating, and it all works, but when I run "start full population", it only populates 1 record. I double checked the table in question and it has over 3 million records and proper primary key.
How do I resolve this.

Jan 9, 2015I proposed on a new server that we separate Data Files, Log Files, tempDB, Backups, etc. onto separate LUNS on a SAN with High Speed Solid State Drives.I was told that with the new technology with solid state SAN's that it would decrease performance and that it did not work the same way as it did when you had RAID 5's etc.I thought that if things were cared out correctly by a SAN Administrator they would know how to configure for optimal performance.

Apr 24, 2008In the first step of my SSIS package I need to get files from FTP and dump it/them in a local directory, but it's more than that, the logic is like this:
1. If no file(s) found, stop executing and send email saying no file(s) found;
2. If file(s) found, then compare it/them with existing files in our archive folder; if file(s) already exist in archive folder, stop executing and send email saying file(s) already existed, if file(s) not in archive folder yet, then transfer it/them to the local directory for processing.
I know i have to use a script task to do this and i did some research and found examples for each of the above 2 steps and not both combined, so that's why I need some help here to get the logic incorporated right.

Both of these files are stored on the server (as many experts in this forum adviced) and their locations are in the SQL server database. It is working fine.But now I need a format file for the customer table and and it is notworking. It is working fine with the old DB with varchar, but withnvarchar I'm not able to copy the data.
