How do I jump to another report based on a value in my current report. The report that I am jumping from has no parameters, just values.

I have two reports, Report A and Report B.
Report A has two parameters defined as "Prompted", meaning the report input area is available for the user.
Report A parameters ---> StartDate, EndDate
When Report B invokes Report A using the Jump To Report Functionality and passing Report B's StartDate and EndDate parameters, Report A seems to think the parameters are implied and not needed and fails to drop down the parameter input area.
This is not desired because the user should be able to change report A's parameters.
Anyone know a workaround?

I have a report (Report1) with a subreport (SubReport2). The subreport is a barchart. On the data values for the chart, I have a "Jump to Report" action defined. This jumps to another report(Report3) that has some parameters on it. Neither Report 1 nor SubReport2 have any parameters, only Report3.
When I jump to Report3, I would like to have it open up blank with the parameters open to be selected. I don't want to pass in any parameters as I jump to it. This works perfectly when I test it in my Preview pane in BIDS. However, when I upload the report to the ReportServer, when I click on SubReport2 to jump to Report3, I get an error saying
The 'Months' parameter is missing a value
There is no parameter pane for me to choose the parameters (or any other report viewer pane). However, if I open Report3 directly without trying to use Report1 and SubReport2 to jump to it, the parameter pane is there, everything works right.
Does anyone know how I can get the parameters pane to show up when I jump to Report3?

I have a report that uses report parameters and navigation in the textbox.
When I click in the textbox, it jumps to the same report, but I cannot see the report parameters any more(hidden ). I cannot change the report parameters.
When I use only the report paramenters (no navigation option), they appear always during the run time.
How can I do to keep the report parameters visible all the time using "jump to the same report"??

I have one report (R1) which includes a list of ports ("=Fields!Port_Name.Value")
Another report (R2) supplies details for individual reports and has a parameter named PortDWIDPortName which gets port names from the same dimension as those in R1. So in the field properties of the Port field in R1, I selected Navigation > Jump To Report and entered PortDWIDPortName = Fields!Port_Name.Value (also tried changing .Value to .Key or .UniqueName) but although it jumps to report R2 it does not enter a value for the parameter (ie leaves it blank or displays <Select Value> depending on whether multivalue or not).
Does anyone know the right syntax to pass the parameter ? If not, does anyone know to view what Jump To Parameter is returning so I can figure how to doctor it!

Very strange phenomenon with the "Jump to report:" Hyerlink Actions when I deployed my reports to the production servers:
The Actions no longer funcioned properly when attempting to go to one report to another. Sometimes, the same report would come up and sometimes a different report. It appeared that whatever mechanism Report Server uses to construct the proper URL when using "Jump to report:" is unreliable(or the URL is not being honored by the web-server).
All this is happening under the Report Viewer control. I have had to do a painful fix of manually constructing the entire absolute URL and including the reportviewer control in the url.
Any way to get back relative Jump to report: URL's?

I've created a linked server with a pretty basic Excel spreadsheet, and used this command to create a linked server to it:

I want to use this as the data from which to build a report model. As linked servers don't show up in the Data Source View wizard, I created a view in SQL Server:

Okay, great, now the view shows up in the DSV wizard and I can create the data source view. However, when I create a new report model based on this data source view, the Report Model Wizard tells me at "Create entities for all tables" that I've got an error when it processes dbo_MyExcel that "Table does not have a primary key."
I assume this is where the identifying attributes for the entities in the report model are taken from, so I really can't go further. Does anyone have an idea as to how to add a primary key to a linked server (Excel) in SQL 2005? Can this be done? Other than importing spreadsheet data to a SQL table, how can I get around this?

How do I get data on my linked report based on my grouped subtotal and grand total from the main report. The subtotal and grand total are calculated columns.

I have linked my report based on the NumbOfAccts column. I am able to get data if I click any of the NumbOfAccts values related to the state I want. However when I am not sure how to make the subtotal and grand total work. I want when I click on the subtotal of either coast, I should be able to see records of that coast e.g., if I select 37 I should be able to see all the records in East Coast. If I click on the Grand Total, I only want data related to those 2 coasts.

With visual studio, i publish my report on reportserver. whenever i access to my report on this url :

I would like to know if i can transmet parameters for the stocked procedure to build the report with the request i want.
I tried to put parameter directly in the url in this way

Here is a situation in my company:
We have an Office SharePoint 2007 site, we developed a couple of web parts and added them to our site. We used SQL Server Reporting services 2005 as our reporting solution. The reports are hosted on the report center and when we need a report, we open it by sending a URL requesting the report, passing the report parameters in the URL query string. So the report is filtered based on the parameters passed from the web parts.
But since best practices say that you should host reports directly under SharePoint, by configuring the reporting services to run in the SharePoint integrated mode. We followed the steps and installed SharePointRS and we finally succeeded to publish the reports to a SharePoint folder, but we had a limitation: we are unable to pass the report parameters internally to the report hosted in SharePoint. If we passed them in the query string as the report center case, SharePoint neglects them totally.
So the question is: how can I pass parameters internally between a SharePoint web part and a SQL server 2005 reporting services report hosted in SharePoint?
I am trying to develop a report from cube,and it has one drill through report.when i click on sales amount field on main report,then it open the drill through report with details.Here i passed the **(category,subcat,product)parameters(Cascaded)** to drill through report in action part of main report.In my main report i have two columns .

I have a really cool Budget report which has two matrices on it. One is used/visible if the user selects four levels of grouping, and one is used if the user selects only three levels of grouping. The four choices for grouping are four fields, Par, FERC, Point, and Resource.
Since grouping is optional, I need a way to pass the parameter for a field that is not grouped on from the main report to the drillthrough report. For example if the user chooses to group on all fields but Point, I need to pass the report parameter that was used by the main report for Point to the drillthrough report as a report parameter.
So, I tried testing the three grouping levels values and if none were equal to "Point" then pass in the parameter by putting the following expression in the Parameter Value box for the Point parameter on the Navigation tab of the datacell of the main report that is the drillthrough link:

Parameters!GroupLevel2.Value<>"Point"

What it allows me to do is enter in any number of the variables when running the stored procedure. For example, EXECUTE udsp_td_queryowner @state = 'IA' would give me everything in the table in the state of IA regardless of the other field values. Likewise, if I ran EXECUTE udsp_td_queryowner @state = 'KY', @size = 15 it would return the records that are in KY and the size of 15 is in the range of the low and high value.
If I run the first example in Query Analyzer I get 53 records from the data I have. It returns every record that has IA as the state. I run the same thing in Reporting Services and all I get is 3 records. Just the 3 records for the state of IA where the business type is either null or blank (I can't tell.) If I allow all of the variables to accept Nulls then it returns the correct data. However, I would like to find a better alternative because when the report is run it returns all of the records in the table initially and if they user wants to enter in any parameters they have to toggle off the null box for the corresponding paramter.
Any ideas?
Product version : SQL Reporting Service 2005 with SQL SP2
It's a report with 3 sub-reports in it, i want to display only one of the 3 sub-reports at a time depending on 1 or 2 parameters received by the parent report. These parameters are verified by an expression into the visibility tab of each sub-report. The two parameters are 2 lists with possibles values between 1 and 2 (not query based). I have verified these values and they are correctly received by report depending on the selection of each list.
Ex.: SubReport1.expression = IIf(Parameters!Regroupement.Value = 1, True, False)
SubReport2.expression =IIf(Parameters!Regroupement.Value = 2 AND Parameters!SautPage.Value = 1, True, False)
SubReport3.expression =IIf(Parameters!Regroupement.Value = 2 AND Parameters!SautPage.Value = 2, True, False)
So here are the posibilities :
when Regroupement.Value = 1 --> SubReport1 will be shown
when Regroupement.Value = 2 AND SautPage.Value = 1 --> SubReport2 will be shown
when Regroupement.Value = 2 AND SautPage.Value = 2 --> SubReport3 will be shown
Now why that doesn't work ? I always see the same report and it's not the right one displayed even i change the selection of my 2 lists for the parameters value.

I have requirement where first I need to show only one report
parameter. Based on user selection I need to prompt or show the user
another report parameter.
Say suppose I have 3 parameters. User selects first value in first
parameter I should not show the other 2 parameters. If user selects
second value in first parameter I should show second parameter and
hide third parameter. There is no relationship between these 2
parameters except user selection. Similarly if user third value in
first parameter then I should show third parameter and hide second
parameter.
Is this possible? I can not see any Visible property for report
parameters.
If yes, how to achieve this functionality?

I want to use Jump to Report option under Navigation tab.
I have two reports both with Same parameters and parameters are multiple value selectable.
In Jump to Report this is how I set the parameter value.
LeadershipTeamId =Join(Parameters!LeadershipTeamId.Value,", ")
CostCentreId =Join(Parameters!CostCentreId.Value,", ")
CostElementGroupId =Fields!CostElementGroupId.Value
This works fine if I have only one value selected for CostCentre and LeadershipTeam but when I select the multiple value I get the following error.
The value provided for the report parameter 'LeadershipTeamId' is not valid for its type. (rsReportParameterTypeMismatch)
Am I missing anything here?

I have created a hyperlink(textbox) with an action property setting of "Jump to report" The report I am jumping to takes 5 parameters. I want to pass 4 of the parameters from the main report and have the user enter the 5th. I have mapped the 4 parameters and in preview mode, everthing works great. In preview mode, the parametrs are passed and the last parameter is left waiting for entry. After deployment, this is not the case. In the deployed state, I simply get an error that parameter #5 is blank. Is there there something I am missing?

there a way to suppress the parameter value in the URL so the user is unable
to manipulate the parameter and execute the changed URL?

because when reports exported to excel, hyperlink path will be displayed and should not display to the user.

I am very new to SSRS & SSAS .
Here is my problem. I have a SSRS report that uses a SSAS cube for as it's datasource. I have a drop down parameter box where the user can select a year (2005,2006,2007,etc..) They click the View Report button and the report is generated. On one of the textboxes properties, on the navigation tab I have Jump to Report activated. I select the parameter from the receiving reports with the value of the dropdown box.
What I'm trying to do and can't, is to jump to that report passing the contents of the dropdown box. The receiving report is a SSRS report with a datasource being the SSAS. How do I make the receiving report open based on the parameter that was sent ??

However, if I put "http://www.micheldegremont.com?id=" + Fields!ID.Value it doesn't work. I haven't not link in my report.
