How would I loop through the rows of a dataset, then replace certain character in a certain column?
I have a database which has a date field formatted 23/08/2007, I wish to loop through the dataset containing the results from the dataset, change the format of the date to 23.08.2007 then store the value back into the dataSet, which is called 'dataSet', and the table is called 'News'.

run the while loop
inside loop I will compare the column values with the same table(table 1) for different tretmentid.
if any one row matches will come out from loop and send status .

I’ve created a script which will do the following.
Update fields in a database which contain instances of an order number. An order number is defined as a 10 digit numeric sting which beings with 998. The first 3 digits of the order number need to change from 998 to 999. There are two types of fields to update: document number fields which may contain 1 instance of the order number and free text fields which may contain multiple instances of an order number.
I created a function which accepts the text to be updated, the text to find and the text to replace it with. The function then loops through the sting for instances of 998. For each instance it finds it checks to ensure that it is at the start of a 10 digit string which contains only numeric numbers – if this is the case then it will update the 998 to be 999.
If the field is free text then it will continue to loop through the string (it will skip forward 10 digits for every order number found) until the end. If the field is not free text then it will exit the script after the first instance found which matches the above criteria, if any.
Need achieving this via set processing and not having to loop through every line. I’ve included the function below and some test data.

Help! I'm very tired (and new at this) and have looked for a solution in many places. I have an Employee table with a one to many Revenue table. All revenue types are in this table. I need the goals and actuals (two different revenue types) for a datagrid.

Dataset1 pulls property id's and other sales data from a table (2014_COST) based on the user's parameters. I have set up another table (AUDITS) that I would like to use in dataset6. This table has 3 columns (Property ID's, Sales Price and Sales Date). I would like for dataset6 to pull the Property ID's that are NOT contained in the results from dataset1. I have a stored procedure attached below. It returns 2 rows in the SQL Management studio when I execute MyStorProc 0,28. But in my program which uses ADOHelper, it returns a dataset with tables.count=0.
if I comment out the line --If @Status = 0 then it returns the rows. Obviously it does not stop in
if @Status=0 even if I pass @status=0. What am I doing wrong?

i have two datasets.one dataset have old data from some other database.second dataset have original data from sql server 2005 database.both database have same field having id as a primary key.i want to transfer all the data from first dataset to new dataset retaining the previous data but if old dataset have the same id(primary key) as in the new one then that row will not transfer.

what I would like to do is populate a grid view the a select statement that does the following.
display each empname and empnum in a gridview returning only unique values. this part is easy enough. in addition to these values i would also like to count up all the Thrs for each empname and display that sum in the gridview as well. Below is a little better picture of what I€™m trying to accomplish.

I have two datasets in my report, D1 and D2.
D1 is a list of classes with classid and title
D2 is a list of data. each row in D2 has a classid. D2 may or may not have all the classids in D1. all classids in D2 must be in D1.
I want to show fields in D2 and group the data with classids in D1 and show every group as a seperate table. If no data in D2 is available for a classid, It shows a empty table.

But I don't how integrate dynamically... I try to enter a parameter via the param tab, and create and expression :

if user select all, i'll send 0 to @icompany then I need to select all records.
question 1. How can I get all records? (i think about this query select * from companyid <> 0)
if user select for example companyid = 1, i'll send 1 to @icompany and the query work fine.
question 2. How can I change the query to adopt this 2 condition?

I have wriiten a query that works great in sql server but MS Access does not support EXCEPT. I have to rewrite this query using 'IN' or 'NOT IN' but can not figure it out because it must be compared on all fields. I'm sure this will require multiple subqueries because 'IN' must return only one field but I can not rap my brain around it. Could someone please help with this? To ensure I don't leave orphans floating around in tables when records get deleted (values from one record might link to values in another) how do I find and possibly replace values in tables?For example, if I have a unit of measure table and want to delete the value "inches", how do I look in other tables to find this value and give the user the option to cancel or clear it out. If I don't it will cause controls bound to that value like the dropdownlist to throw an error.
