Hi, I have a table called geofence. It has a primary key geofence_id. Each geofence consists of a set of latitudes and latitudes. So I defined two columns latitude and longitude and their type is varchar. I want to store all latitude/longitude values as a comma separated values in latitude/longitude columns So in general how do people implement these types of requirements in relational databases?
I'm working on a social network where I store my friend GUIDs in a table with the following structure:user1_guid user2_guidI am trying to write a query to return a single list of all a users' friends in a single column. Depending on who initiates the friendship, a users' guid value can be in either of the two columns. Here is the crazy sql I have come up with to give what I want, but I'm sure there's a better way... I have a table that is used to build rules. The rules point to other columns in other tables and usually contain only one value (i.e. ABC). But one of the options is to add a comma-separated list of SSNs (i.e. 123123123,012012012,112231122). I am trying to build a single query that allows me to leverage that list to get multiple rows from another table.
This obviously works:
SELECT * FROM vw_Person_Profile P (NOLOCK) WHERE P.PrsnPIISSN_Chr IN ('123123123','012012012','112231122')
But this does not:
SELECT * FROM vw_Person_Profile P (NOLOCK) WHERE P.PrsnPIISSN_Chr IN ( SELECT '''' + REPLACE(CONVERT(VARCHAR(4000),txtFieldValue), ',', ''',''') + '''' FROM MassProcessing_Rules PR WHERE PR.intRuleID = 10 )
If there are two columns in a Derived Column Component, Is there a way we can put a delimiter between them say a '||' symbol or so and build an expression. All I was able to do was concatenate them.
We just changed over our phone system and the new system uses all of the old extensions except it adds a 1 to the beginning of them. I know that there is a relatively simple way to update my phone extension column to show this, but I can't for the life of me remember what I need to do. Any help?
With the below query iam able to retrieve all the tables invloved in a stored proc. But, what I want to display the table names as comma separated list for each table.

I joined these two tables and it pulled up the proper amount of records. If you check out the image you will see what the results are for this query.
Now all I need for this part would be to roll these up where I have one row per ProgramID and all the AttributeNames' together in a AttributeNames column for each id.
EXAMPLE: All in one row.

Scenario is like that single dept can have multiple LocationHeads, If Location heads are multiple then they should display in single column using *starting the name as mentioned bottom under required output.

Using Flat File Connection Manager, I am specifying Text Qualifier = Double quotes{"}, and i have TXT file with one column for lastname and first name as "LN,FN", and settings are set to comma delimted, now the connectin manager is creating two different columns for LN and FN,
I have several databases to deal with, all with + 250 tables. The databases are not identical and do not conform to a specific naming convention for table names. Most but not all tables have a column called "LastUpdated" containing a date/time (obviously). I'd like to be able to find all rows within a whole database (table by table) where the date/time is greater than a specified date/time.
I'm looking for a reliable query that will return all the rows in each of the tables but without me having to write hundreds of individual scripts "SELECT * FROM [dbo.xyz] WHERE LastUpdated > '2015-01-01 09:00:00:000'", or have to look through each table first to determine which of them has the LastUpdated field.
Deciding whether or not to use a CTE or this simple faster approach utilizing system tables, hijacking them.

I have a field called "Owners", and it's a child to an "Activities" table.
An Activity can have on or more owners, and what I'd like to do is some how comma separate the values that come back if there are more than one owners.
I've tried a subreport, but because the row is colored and if another field, title, expands to a second row (b/c of the length) and the subreport has just one name, then the sub-report has some different color underneath due to it being smaller in height.
