How Do You Create A Multiple Word Search Box To Return Rows From A Sql Database In Asp.net 2.0

I am using VS2005 to construct a website.
I have a sql database with 3 datasets. One of the table adapters is called Proudcts and has the following fields.
ProductItem, Description, Price, ProductID, PackSize
I want to be able to see a summary of the products (there are thousands of them) using one or more words (or partial words) in one text box to search in only 3 fields (ProductItem, Description, ProductID, ). This needs to show only records which contain the search criteria in a gridview?
This is such a basic requirement for a website, and can be found on many sites, but I haven't found how to do it.

We compulsorily use NOLOCK in our scripts on reporting DB and development generally forget putting NOLOCKS or schema names with tables.
Creating a script to search for a missing word or a phrase in SQL Server script.
Our format is
<schema>.<table> <alias here> WITH NOLOCK <or alias here>
or
<schema>.<table> <alias here> NOLOCK <or alias here>
or
<schema>.<table> <alias here> (NOLOCK) <or alias here>
but generally developers write only <table> <alias>

Can anyone tell me how to search an SQL database for a given key word in a textbox? I basically have a database that has a qualifications column and this column needs to be searched for the data given in the textbox. Which is the best method to search for the data? Is it a simple SQL query or an XML based search engine type? Can anyone give any suggestions regarding this? If XML is efficient then how do I use it to query my database, as I'm pretty new in XML based searching.Thanks

I am in the process of creating a Report, and in this, i need ONLY the row groups (Parents and Child).I have a Parent group field called "Dept", and its corresponding field is MacID.I cannot create a child group or Column group (because that's not what i want).I am then inserting rows below MacID, and then i toggle the other rows to MacID and MacID to Dept.

I’m trying to return data in a single row.Here’s what my table looks like:

I need the results of my query to total each hours type and group together:

I need to return the all the rows from Cus table into a single string. The return is dynamic.
I do not know the number of rows returned

Can someone please help with a query I have? Basically I want to return all rows in a table that have multiple date entries that are different. For example:
163610737464753422005-12-30 00:00:00.000
163610737464753592006-03-10 00:00:00.000
This security 1636 has two entries in the DB with different dates. They are lots of securities with multiple entries with the same date but I need a list of the ones with different dates. Any ideas please?

I have a subscriptions table that has many line items for each record. Each line item has a different type, dues, vol, Chapt.

I want my end result to have one line item per record id, but I keep coming up with an error. I am pretty sure I am close, but need assistance before I can proceed.

I have a table like below:
ItemIdAmountTax1Tax2SrvType

Now I want to create View that will have an exploded resultset based on SrvType.
For SrvType 1 and 2 there will be 2 lines per Itemid - One for 'Amount' anod another for 'Tax1+Tax2'. But for SrvType 3 there will be 3 lines per 'ItemId' - one for 'Amount', one for Tax1 and another for 'Tax2'.
I have a few hundred source records like this. Now sure how to achieve the exploded resultset with a View.

Hello,
I have a search form in an ASP.NET/VB page. The form has the input text box and the button "search". The keywords are passed in the URL to results.aspx.
Here is an example of what I get in the URL, when I write the keywords "asp", "book" and "london" in the input text box and click "search":
results.aspx?search=asp%20book%20london
The database table has 3 fields: "id", "title" and "description".
I want to display all the records where at least one of the keywords is found in any of the 2 fields "title" and "description".
1. I suppose I need to get the words out of the URL to be used by SQL.
Maybe: string[] searchString = request.queryString("search").split('search'); ???
How can i make this run when page loads? I supose i need it. Right?
2. How should the SQL look? I supose i need to use the "Like" command
SELECT * FROM books WHERE title LIKE ...
But how to I use it if I can have 1, 2, 3, ... keywords?
Can someone help me?

I am having a colume as image datatype, in which candidates resume is stored in binary format.
I have to search for particular words for eg. "ASP.Net, 2 Years" into that column
I have converted that column as varchar and then searching above two words(after spliting them by comma) into that string using CHARINDEX

It is working fine, but it is very slow, taking 2+ minutes to scan 15000 records
How can I make it faster or is there any other way to search?

I'm designing a Job Recruitment Website, in which the admin person searches for the right candidate for the job using certain keywords . Each jobseeker will be uploading his CV (ms word doc) during registration .How can i search for keywords in the word documents. I have set the Full-Text to all the columns. For searching i wrote the below query

My Result expectation is: The First Record should come. But the result of the query bring the two records. It see the "SQL Server" string also. I need to find the exact word. How to do it? Please answer me as soon as possible. Ganesh.

I have this query currently:

And opencall.status <> '17'This means that when they search for items and they separate each word it is "and" between each one.
They would like it to be more fuzzy with "and" and "or". How can I adapt this?
