i only get the german version. But i want to download the original english version. Because i like more to work with the english terms than the translated german ones.
I am trying to download SQL Server Express Edition in Germany however the site does not allow me to choose the language of the download. How can I get English version of the software in Germany?
I'm getting this error when installing SQL Express 2005 on a non-English version of Vista.
"SQL Server Setup could not validate the service accounts. Either the service accounts have not been provided for all of the services being installed, or the specified username or password is incorrect. For each service, specify a valid username, passowrd, and domain, or specify a built-in system account."
Using Wise I get this error only when installing on a non-English version of Windows Vista, I can get the install to complete if I remove nt/authority. I've tried changing the non-English versions of Vista localization to English but I still get the same error.
at the moment I have the following problem: We have installed a version of the MSDE 2000 Sp3 with our software since 2005. Now we install SQL Server Express 2005 in order to use the latest version and to be compatible with Vista. We have never had any problems with the MSDE, so it was no problem that we installed the german version (by mistake) because there never was any output at installation time. When we now upgrade the existing MSDE installing the new version of our software, there are often problems and there are error messages, unfortunately in german, which cannot be read by most of our international users.
The problem is, that there seems to be no possibility to upgrade the existing (german) MSDE with the english version of SQL Server Express 2005. My question is, if it is possible to upgrade the german MSDE to the english SQL Server 2005 to enable our international users to read the error messages at installation time in english?
Is it possible to connect SQL Sever 2005 Express from SQL Sever 2000 Enterprise Manager? Tried to connect but got the error message "must use SQL Server management tools to connect this sever"
I found sql2005 Enterprise cannot be installed under Simplied Chinese win 2003, the only thing i suspect is that win2003 is an envaluation copy with netframework 2.0 be installed.
I installed SQL Server 2000 Develloper version and I am wondering what are the limitation of this version compare to the other versions available? Like how many connections can I have open at the same time? Can I use it for my intranet application? etc... Thanks

How do you backup tables and stored procedures in SQL sever 2005 express? Also, I'm getting ready to load VS 2008 with SQL sever 2008. How will I move SQL sever 2005 express tables and procedures to SQL sever 2008?
I'm running VS2005prof.+sp1, SSE Adv (with sp2) SSE ToolKit. Its been running without problems since installation (April 12.2007) Last week I ran into a problem which started off as
"An attempt to attach an auto-named database for file D:DataVBNetVisual Studio 2005ProjectSolutionsAR1403inDebuginDebugApp_DataAR1403.mdf failed. A database with the same name exists, or specified file cannot be opened, or it is located on UNC share."
and went down hill rapidly to the point now where I can't even start it up. Here's the error log:

I've tried following various suggestions I found on the Net, however, after 3-days it does seem as though I'm not getting anywhere. Shoud I uninstall and re-install SSE and if so is there a specific step by step step procedure I can follow. Or is there a sure fire way to fix the probelm without re-installation?

Hello, I am experiencing difficulty with the installation of sqlexpr_toolkit for sql server 2005 express. I have installed sql server 2005 express with advanced services. That has installed correctly. However, when I try to install the sqlexpr_toolkit with the feature 'Business Intelligence Studio' , the toolkit does not install; the toolkit does not show up in the program list in the"Add & Remove Programs" window. When I try to 'Change' the sql server 2005 in the "Add & Remove Programs" list and try to upgrade the feature components with the Business Intelligence feature, I get a error that states"cannot find devenv.exe." Both versions of setup files for sqlexpr_avd and sqlexpr_toolkit are the same. I previously had an earlier version of sql server 2005 express loaded but it was not the beta version. And I uninstalled the sql server apps, except I did not uninstall .NetFramework 2.0.
I have found some of the Business Inteligence files installed in the path: C:ProgramFilesMicrosoftVisualStudio8common7IDEPrivateAssemblies
I was wondering if I need to uninstall everything and start over. I also had previously installed Visual Web Developer Express and Visual Basic Express 2005 which are working okay. Do I need to obtain updates for these applications in order to get Business Intelligence Studio to install?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really would llike to use the Business Intelligence Studio application.

I am familiar with Access and I write a lot of asp queries connected to an Access db.
I am now working with a full blown SQL Server db. I have accessed the tables using Express Management Tools, but now I want to know if I can create a report or export data form a SQL table into Excel like I can from Access.
I am currently using SQL Server Management Studio Express. I see there are other options to install, will any of these give me the tools I need to export?
Hello! Can't download Sql Server 2005 Express, althouth i downloaded without any problem all other express products: c#, c++, visual studio from the same page. The download even start ! I'm trying to export a SQL 2005 express database to SQL 2000 without success, really a pain in the ass :-( But I found that it may be a hope but I can't find the page to download the in this page mentioned additional download for SQL 2005 express that will add DTS functionality to it.
I would like some help in uploading a database from my harddrive to a server using sql server management studio express.
If I try to attach it to the server, this program only looks at the files on this server and not on my harddrive. So how can I copy a sql database to my folder on the server.
I am sure it must be a simple problem, but I've been bizzy with it for about a day now. So, please advice.

I have followed the link to download SP1 of SQLServer 2005 Express Edition, but, on that page nowhere it is mentioned that downloads offered are of SP1, it simply says that SQLServer 2005 Express edition.
What is the correct link and am I really on the correct page of SP1 ?
I was trying to download SQL Server Management Studio Express from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/sql/download/default.aspx. The links on this page seem to be broken.
I tried to download the Mgmt Studio Express by clicking on a link that points to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=65110.
Anyone else facing this issue? Is there another place I can get SQL Server Management Studio Express from?
Hi there. I'm a complete novice, trying to insall SQL express 2005. I see on the install page the following message: Download the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
Before you complete a Microsoft SQL Server download and install any member of the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition family, you must install the .NET Framework 2.0.
When I click on the link, and go to the downloads page at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa569263.aspx I see there are several downloads concerning .net 2.0, including
.NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86)
.NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x64)
.NET 2.0 SP1 (x86)
and others Which of these files should I download? Or should I be looking for something else?
I have downloaded and installed SQL Server Express and also downloaded and installed SQL Server Express Service Release 2. I have also downloaded several of the Visual Studio tutorials about how to do things.
However, I have been unable to download SQL Server Management Studio Express Edition, nor SQL Server 2005 Books OnLine, nor SQL Server Samples so I really cannot do anything with the *#$@ thing.
There are no error messages. The downloads begin and then freeze after downloading about 3-4MB. They stay frozen until they time out. I have turned off all firewalls, virus protection, turned off all security in Internet Explorer. I thought at first it was because I had not yet registered but I registered and it still won't download. What else can be wrong?
I am on XP Prof SR 2, not vista, all my software is uptodate, in order to install SQL Server Express of course I downloaded and installed the required installation program and the Net version 2 Framework. Plenty of disk space, 2 GB of ram, dual processor Dell XPS PC on a DSL connection. I have read the info about reasons for download problems and have checked the bitsadmin service, downloaded the update for it (it told me I already had it) and downloaded the latest version of Windows Support Tools and ran the bitsadmin /util /repairservice /force and it said all was fine. I tried it on a second machine with same results. I am not a beginner, I have been writing code for Access for several years. "Support" says this forum is the only place to go since I refuse to pay them $99 to help me demo what is theoretically a sample piece of free software.
