Mar 28, 2007Ok, this seems really straightforward, but I'm completely lost. I created a sqldatasource control that uses an INSERT stored procedure. I can click on test it tests just fine, inserts everything into the database.Now, I want this sqldatasource control to fire when a button is clicked, but I have no idea how to do this, I looked at the parameters and cant find an execute or anything like that to use. Let me know how to execute this sqldatasource, it'd really help me out. I know you can do EVERYTHING in the code behind file, but I'm rather new to VB and I'm probably gonna save that for another day. When SSRS report is viewed in Reportviewer control in FIREFOX browser, then Print,Zoom and Search tool bar icons are not displayed.
The same problem is also seen, when SSRS report is viewed using URL in Firefox browser.
Description:
When SSRS report is viewed using reportviewer control in IE browser, then All tool bar icons are displayed.
Following are the Toolbar icons displayed:
1. Search.
2. Next Prev Button
3. Print

How To Execute A Selectcommand On Button Click?

Can anyone tell me the means by which I can populate a label or a datagrid by executing a selectcommand statement on the form of my webpage. And what is the best way to retrieve data from a SQL datasource, is it by using separate sqldatasources for each different parts of a page that requires different data from different tables in the same database or by using a tableadapter to retrieve the data for the best performance?

Error When Using A Create Table Execute SQL Task Statement In Control Flow Prior To Using An OLE DB Destination Container...
May 18, 2008SSIS Newbie Question:
I have a simple Control Flow setup that checks to see if a particular table exists. If the table does not exists, the table is created in an alternate path, if it does exist, the table is truncated before moving to a file import Data Flow that uses an OLE DB Destination to output the imported data.
My problem is, that I get OLE DB package errors if the table the OLE DB Destination Container references does not exist when I load the package.
How can I over come this issue? I need to be able to dynamically create the table in an earlier step, then use that table to import data into in a later step in the workflow.
Is there a switch I can use to turn off checking in the OLE DB Destination Container so that it will allow me to hook up the table creation step?
Seems like this would be a common task...
Steps:
1. Execute SQL Task to see if the required table exists
2. Use expresions to test a variable to check the results of step 1
3. If table exists, truncate the table and reload it from file in Data Flow using OLE DB Destination
4. If table does not exist, 1st create it, then follow the normal Data Flow
Can someone help me with this?

Mar 20, 2007UPDATE #2: When it said "Do you want to install Microsoft SQL Server" I said "yes" and that caused it to work. I exited and re-ran and now the print runs w/o the "install SQL Server" (If the prompt had said "Do you want to install the print dialog" we wouldn't be having this discussion...)
UPDATE: After posting this i discovered that the same thing occurs when attempting to print the report direct from IE6: First a dialog pops up "Do you want to install this software?" Name: Microsoft SQL Server. When I click "Don't Install" I get the dialog "unable to load client print control." Since this happens direct from IE6 I suspect it's browser settings. I'll resume tomorrow and post a followup.
My WinForm C# app integrates Reporting Services by calling them from WebBrowser controls. The problem is attempts to print cause a dialog: "unable to load client print control."
I've read prior posts that say "enable Active-X in your browser" - I don't know how to do that from a WebBrowser control.
Any ideas how to support Reporting Services "Print" from within a WebBrowser control?

Help! The Transaction Log Is Full Error In SSIS Execute SQL Task When I Execute A DELETE SQL Query

I had got the below error when I execute a DELETE SQL query in SSIS Execute SQL Task :
Error: 0xC002F210 at DelAFKO, Execute SQL Task: Executing the query "DELETE FROM [CQMS_SAP].[dbo].[AFKO]" failed with the following error: "The transaction log for database 'CQMS_SAP' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
But my disk has large as more than 6 GB space, and I query the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases which return value as "NOTHING".
So this confused me, any one has any experience on this?

task. If this can be done, I need to know the technique to use -
whether it's something similar to a parameter placeholder question
mark or something else.
FYI - I've been able to successfully execute Transact-SQL statements
within the Execute SQL task, so I don't think the Execute T-SQL task
is even necessary for this purpose.

I have a master package, which executes child packages that are located on a SQL Server. The Child packages execute other child packages which are also located on the SQL server.
Everything works fine when I execute in process. But when I set the parameter in the mater package ExecutePackageTask to ExecuteOutOfProcess = True, I get the following error
Error: 0xC00470FE at DFT Load Data, DTS.Pipeline: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PRODUCTLEVELTOLOW. The product level is insufficient for component "Row Count" (5349).

I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this but I am trying to achieve the following:
I have a row (In this case it is information on a fix) and on a button click I am trying to get it to "archive" it. At the moment I have it so that it it takes the current information and adds it to the archive table adding an archive date. The thing that I am struggling with is incrementing the version number. So, I need it to (in these steps I think) - Look for existance of the other entires of that ID, look for the version number that is related to the newest date of those knowledgeIDs and then add 1 to it. If that knowledgeID doesnt exist then add it as one.

Sep 24, 2004I need to make a query to a SQLserver db passing values from a dropdownlist and two text boxes as my criteria. Now if nothing is selected and the button is pressed, I would like to return everything that is part of my Select statement. I am having trouble making my sql statement work.

When I'm useing a report in reportViewer I have a "back button" in the the viewer which let me go back to my parent report after jumping to another report.
I wanted to make a bigger button like that on the report so I tried to simulate it by creating my own textback and use a javascript to go back one page.
This doesn't work since the javascript doesn't work as well as the built in bottun.
Is there a way to simulate this button any way?

Where's The Start Button?

I just installed and registered SQL Server Express but I don't see any shortcuts or Start -> Programs links. I found the new folder it created C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2 and I tried to run this file:
C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.2MSSQLBinnsqlservr.exe
Nothing happens. Nada. Do I have to restart my computer?
PS: Is there a QuickStart tutorial on using its Reporting Services?

Hi everyone, Im using SSRS 2000 and I was wondering is there a way to create a click button??? I have 2 reports linked with hyperlinks but I wanted to make it look more presentable. So, instead of just clicking on the words, I want them to click the button.

Feb 1, 2006Print button is disabled for some users. Don't know why it is doing so? Works fine for most of the users in the same group.

I have one report,in my report i need to display parameters like this:
one radio button :Age and another radio button is Age Ranges
For the Age,I have to dispaly like two text boxes named 'From' and 'To'
For the Age Ranges,I have to display one drop down list contains values :20s,30s ..
In Reporting Services,Putting the Radio button is not possible,i think,If possible how to achive this.
Other workaround is i think Multivalued parameter which displays the Age and Age ranges
When we click on Age we need to display 2 textboxes
When we select Age Ranges we have to display Drop down list
If we select both :both 2 text boxes and drop down list.
Putting multi valued parameters for this requirement is not good and this is not the multi valued parameter concept.Please clarify me whether iam correct or not.

Aug 8, 2006I have a web application with a stand alone report. When I put the ReportViewer in the webform I can see every reports in the project. The problem is that I can't see the print report button...
If I indicate that the report is a "Server Report" instead a local report the Print Report appear, but a need a "Local Report" not a "Server Report" How can i solve that.

Hi There,
I wanted to add a search button to my report where by it would only be visible after the report was run by the user and then the user could search on a particular field(Called Synopsis) for a value, ex QREF12345. I don't want the user to enter QREF, just the number. How could this be coded?? Also, are there any good sites available with code snippetts available?

And a button on mypage.aspx:

But when I click the button....the validation-controls executes before...so instead for "clearing" the page (reload it without postback) the validation-messages shows that I have forgott to write in som textboxes....
What should I do?

Sep 29, 2005I am trying to get MSSQL Reporting Services working. I have used it before, but now I have the opportunity to get the software entrenched in my organization. I installed the app and it opens up, but when I try to create a new folder the software will not allow the OK choice. I can cancel, but I need to choose OK.

I have this Gridview in which I show attendees to a course (per course)
In the same gridview I want to be able (by clicking a button) to show all attendees to all courses simply by leaving out a part of the SQL;
WHERE Eventid = @eventid (resulting in all attendees no matter what course)
In other words how can I alter the selectcommand of the SQLDataSource?
Seems simple, but can't hack it.

My webpage contain three dropdown box and one button. One dropdown to choose hospital_id, second dropdown to choose project_id and third dropdown to choose version_no .After choosing these three and when the button is clicked i want to run this sql query
INSERT INTO version(project_id,hospital_id,date_created,comments) SELECT project_id,hospital_id,date_created,comments FROM version where version_no=@version_no and project_id=@project_id and hospital_id=@hospital_id.
Just i need the code in asp.net 2.0 , VB , when the button is clicked the above query should run and the parameters (values) should take from dropdown box.
Could anyone please send the solution for the above problem.
