Aug 29, 2015When I'm trying to create a database diagram for my tables., First it prompts me saying that - "This database does not have one or more of the supported objects... Do you wish to create them? I know this is normal when you don't have any diagrams. But after clicking "Yes", I get the following error which is attached.
I tried changing the database Owner to "sa". But, still the same error. Interestingly, other databases that are already having the database diagrams (created by others), are allowing me to create new diagrams in those databases. The only difference is, I created this database where I'm trying to create diagrams on. How do I get this working.

I need to be able to create a 'Date'that is compared to a field value in a where clause. In this case thedb field is called 'requisition_time_stamp' in the T_ORDER table. The'requistion_time_stamp' file is of type 'datetime'.Below is pseudo_code for what I need to do:T_ORDER.requisition_time_stamp >= Date(ToNumber(School Year),6,1)ANDT_ORDER.requisition_time_stamp < Date(ToNumber(School Year + 1) , 6,1)The 'Date' method is a mock-up and is problematic because the 'SchoolYear' field needs to be converted to a number so it can be incrementedin the second statement, so I also need a conversion method, somethinglike 'ToNumber(School Year)' .I've looked at the Date functions in the Sybase documentation and Idon't see anything that fits what I'm trying to do.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Below are the steps from the SQL Server 2005 documentation on how to create a database diagram. The problem is that when I right click on the Database Diagrams folder I am only given two options. They are:"Working with SQL Server diagrams" and "Refresh"There is no menu choice to create a new database diagram. Can anyone tell me what the problem here is?
To create a new database diagramIn Object Explorer, right-click the Database Diagrams folder or any diagram in that folder.
Choose New Database Diagram on the shortcut menu.
The Add Table dialog box appears.
Select the required tables in the Tables list and click Add.
The tables are displayed graphically in the new database diagram.

Oct 3, 2007I have a script that is utilizing an FTP task to retrieve files from a Windows FTP site without any issues.
I need to check the dates of the files on the FTP site prior to downloading them as I only need files that have been modified. Since these files are hundreds of MB in size, downloading them first and them checking the date is not an optimal approach.
Can somebody please help me figure out how to check the creation dates of the files on the remote FTP directory?

Dec 31, 2006I am working through a book about setting up a database, though i'm doing it slightly differently, using a sql server database on a remote server rather than the local sql server express database shipped with visual studio.
everything has been going fine until i've reached a part where they want to add a database diagram to the existing database. they talk about right clicking the database diagram node, and selecting add, but for some reason there is no database diagram node, so i can't do it this way. the book also says using the data>add new>diagram from the menu, but when i do this i either have no diagram option (when i have no table opened) or else the diagram option is greyed out and unselectable (when i have a table opened).
any ideas on how i can add a database diagram?

I am having trouble printing a database diagram.
When I do, I get junk artifacts on the page on each table, shaded areas that obscure part of the picture.
I get these results when I print with Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard and when I print to my HP4200N laser printer.
Is there a required driver or something?
Please advise.
(I apologize but this is the only good place I could find for this post-- if you have any hints for other locations then please post links.)

Cannot Open Database Diagram
Feb 13, 2006I attached a SQL express database created on another computer on another SQL express instance running on another computer. When I tried to open a database diagram previously created i receive the following error:
"Database diagram support objects cannot be installed because this database does not have a valid owner. To continue, first use the Files page of the Database Properties dialog box or the ALTER AUTHORIZATION statement to set the database owner to a valid login, then add the database diagram support objects."
I must mention that in the attached database the server login is mapped to the databse as db_owner role. So what's the problem ?
Any suggestions ?
