How To Make Subreport Visible Based On Parameter Condition?

Hi,
I have a subreport added to the main report and I want to make this report visible only when the parameter value is met.
Ex, I have a parameter CustName in the main report and want to show the subreport when the custName = xxxxx. There reports are parameter driven not data driven reports.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have one main report which has 5 subreport. i dont want to show all the sub reports all the time. i want to suppress any subreport based on some conditioned. can i do it in case of the SSRS. How?

I have a drop down list as stated below,

Actually i have 20 reports like this (ie;2O DROPDOWNLIST VALUES AND 20 ACCORDIONS ONE FOR EACH),for reference i have added only 3 dropdownlist values and 3 accordions of code here.
My requirement is , on page_load only the first report (Patient Information Report)should be selected in dropdownlist and the report for the same(accordion)should be visible, and now if i select some other report name in the dropdownlist then that particular report accordion only should be visible,and all other reports(accordions)should be not visible.

HI
I have the following scenario in my report.
-The data is displayed in a table
-The table groups by one field
-Each table row calls a subreport
-There is about 6 paramaters in the report
-The last paramater of the list of paramters is a multivalue paramater and based on what is selected in the list the corresponding subreport must be shown.
-So i use a custom vbscript funtion to determine if a specific value was selected or not.
This functionality is working fine.
My problem is if the user does not select all the values in the multi select then i want to make the row invisble
and remove the whitespace so that there is not a gap between the other subreports which is shown.
I can make the subreport invisible inside the row but there is still the white space which does not display very nicly.
How can i make the row invisible if the vbscript function that is called returns a false value?
Here is the funtion I call -> Code.InArray("ValueToSearchFor", Parameters!MultiValueDropDown.Value)
The Function returns a true or false.

I have a main report and a subreport. Subreport is not at row level but is at report level. The sub report has a parameter that needs to be passed from mainreport. However, the subreport's parameter should be set and the subreport should be refreshed when the user clicks on a row in mainreport. Can I use drill-through / navigation feature in any way to build this functionality?
Any help will be most appreciated.

Hi all,
in my report, I am using a subreport which takes two parameters and in my main report there is a filed named "ProcessCode".
My problem is that, this subreport should be only run if ProcessCode is 11 oder 29. Otherweise there is no need to run subreport. the column of subreport will be shown as emtpy.
I know, I can return empty string from my stored procedure if the processcode is not 11 or 29, but I would like to learm, is it possible to not render subreport according to condition?

Else (If only 1 row returned), I don't want to print anything.

I have a couple reports that have parameters on them. Problem is when the report is printed, the parameters are not displayed.
To solve this, I have added the selected values to the header section of the report in a text box. I now want to find away to hide these values when the report is being viewed on screen but visible when printed. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks

I have thousands of rows that I have to retrieve for my report. When I run my main report it returns my data as a reasonable time.
When I run my sub report (by its own) again data are returned in reasonable time.
When I build the sub report in my main report it takes forever (I have to stop). Are there any tricks that I can use to make this run faster?

I have two report , first is main report which is matrix and have one parameter User_ids which is multi value selection and my second report is basic chart of user_wise performance.
Now, my main report (matrix ) works fine for Multiple selection of users and i have putted one textbox on main report chart which has action properties set for chart report, when user click on chart button it must goes to chart with user selected in main report. Now , i have used expression for parameter to send it like ..
=join(parameter!user_id!value,",") which pass selected value to chartÂ
And when I am selecting single user it passing that value to chart parameter list but , when it is more than one user it errors with conversion failed when converting the nvarchar value '121,128' to data type int. But my chart also works when passing 121,128 in user parameter in preview of report .

I have a report that has one subreport. I am finding that if the entire content of the subreport will not fit within the space remaining on the page that it will not start displaying data from that subreport until the next page of the report, leaving a blank section in the report. I would like it to display as much as possible on the first page and then continue on subsequent pages.
Is there a way?

i have a report that contains a sub-report that is embeded in one of the textboxes of the table. what i am trying to do
is have the main table toggle visilibity based on the value of the sub-report...in my case the toggle is very simple - if the sub-report returns any value at all, then i need the row in the parent table to be 'visible'
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to toggle the visibility of a report item in my page footer based on whether or not a particular subreport has been rendered.
The report has 3 subreports. The subreport above the subreport in question can span several pages, so the subreport I want information on can render on page 1 (for a short report) or page 12 (for example) on a longer report.
Is there a way to determine within the main report when a particular subreport has been rendered and is currently visible?

I'm not sure if parameters is the correct solution, but it's all I can think of.
I'm trying to use a "template" report with a graphic logo and some other standard layout to provide all my subreports with the same look. On the "default" subreport, I intend to have links to the other subreports, but I can't find a way to dynamically change the subreport shown by the Subreport item.

When inserting a subreport into the main report, the subreport parameters are not listed for selection in the subreport object property page. If I add the parameter names manually, the params are not properly passed to the subreport and I get a runtime error (Internal error, see log).
So I'm not able to link the subreport properly. Any Idea?
Both (local) reports reside in a DLL in the same namespace, which is not the default namespace.

Each time we add a new parameter to a subreport and we link the main report's fields to be the value's to the parameters for the subreport, we get an error message stating that the parameter for the subreport has not been specified. If we physically REBOOT the computer and then reload the project, the error seems to clear up.
Is this a bug in Reporting Services or is there some other explaination.

I'm trying to join two tables based on a like condition. The first table contains the full IP, e.g. '166.27.12.24' and the second contains a 2 octet range, e.g. '166.27', which I need to join.
Table 1 -> TRAFFIC (Time, SourceIP)
Table 2 -> IP_ROSTER (IP2OctetRange, Administrator)

I have a column with serial numbers 1, 2,3,4,....etc...I want to have P1 for first 4 serial numbers to be displayed in a separate column beside Serial number column and for the next four serial numbers (5,6,7,8) it should be P2 and like that I want till P13 and for next again it should start with P1(I mean after P13 it should give again P1 instead of P14) and continue the same process.
Column name of Serial number is [S.No]

I am facing a challenge and hope some one can help me with the query.
I have a school. School have classrooms. Classrooms are divided into various sections (Section A, Section B and so on) . Sections have subsections. Every student is allocated a rollnumber in that section.(Subsection is just for dividng the sections. it has no other use.) Now the student is given a choice to specify his own roll( DesiredRoll) in that section. If two children select the same rollno, then the system internally allocates a trackingno.(There can be multiple roll no as these are allocated manually by admin). Let me demonstrate this:
So when the first entry is made in the db, and let us say that the section to be allocated is A, RollNo is 1 and the DesiredRoll is 1
Student 1 Section A Subsection 1 Roll No 1 DesiredRoll 1 TrackingNo 0
The second entry is made in the db and let us say the section to be allocated is A, RollNo is 2 and the DesiredRoll is 2
Student 2 Section A Subsection 1 Roll No 2 DesiredRoll 2 TrackingNo 0
Now let us say there is a 3rd entry the section to be allocated is A, RollNo is 3 but the DesiredRoll is 1. Now since the DesiredRoll has already been taken, we will allocate the DesiredRoll 1, however now the trackingNo will be 1
Let us say there is a 4th entry is made, the section to be allocated is A, RollNo is 4 but the DesiredRoll is again 1. Now since the DesiredRoll has already been taken, we will allocate the DesiredRoll 1, however now the trackingNo will be 2
Similarly this logic will work for different sections. How will I write a query so that I can detect this scenario and increment the tracking no or allocate a tracking no of 0 if there is a new entry made in that section

We have 1000s of SSRS reports hosted on the SQL 2008 R2. All reports are supposed to have all parameters "hidden". Random reports have been reported to expose the parameter when developers accidently deploy to test servers. Is there a way to identify the reports and the parameter property (Hidden, Visible, Internal) from the Report server Database?
I checked executionlog2 but can not find the parameter property.

Hi guys,
I have managed to pass a string parameter form the main report to the subreport with no problems, but when i try and use the same method to pass a datetime type, i am issued with the following error messase:
"[rsErrorExecutingSubreport] An error occurred while executing the subreport €˜SubReportName€™: The value provided for the report parameter 'MasterDate' is not valid for its type."
I cant see why it work for strings, but not for datetime. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated

I have a multi-valued parameter that I want to pass to a subreport. The values are 11, 12, 13, and 14.
So here's what I've done:
1. For the properties of the clickable field of the first report, I have gone to the Navigation tab and chosen the subreport in the "jump to report" pulldown.
2. Then I clicked on the Parameters button and added a parameter name for the multi-valued parameter I am trying to send. For the Parameter value, I have tried 11,12,13,14. I have also tried =Split(11,12,13,14)
3. On the subreport, I create a report parameter with the same name, data type is string, multi-value is checked, and the available values pulldown is populated by a query.
So I run the first report and click on the link that brings me to the subreport, but all the subreport shows is the results for 11, not 12, 13, and 14.
How can I get the second report to understand that I want it to show all the records related to 11, 12, 13, and 14? If I bypass the first report and simply use the drop-down to choose 11, 12, 13, and 14 in the subreport, it works fine. I just can't seem to figure out how to correctly have the first report tell the subreport that it wants 11, 12, 13, and 14.

One of my table called as 'customertable' contains following fields
customername, emailid, subscriptionendperiod
Example records are:
david, david@john.com, 12/20/2005(mm/dd/yyyy format).
My question is that: Just one month before subscriptionendperiod that is on 11/20/2005(mm/dd/yyyy) an automatic email should go to david@john.com with the message 'Your subscription period ends on 12/20/2005'
How to write trigger for this.
Please Note : No ASP code is invloved in this.
Only MSSQL coding to be done.

- > score of problemID 2 is 30
- > first time accepted. No penalty will be counted
- > score = 30
so final score for UserA = 30 + 6 = 36

I have two tables : Students and StuHistory. The structure of the Student table is as follows :

A section has subsections where students are allocated rollno's. Every student has a unique roll no in that subsection. However he is also given a choice to enter his desired roll no. If more than one student choose the same desired roll no in that subsection/section, there is a [TrackingNo] field that then starts keeping a count. For the first unique desired roll no in that subsection/section the tracking no is always 0.
[StudentStatus] represents the following : (-1 for deleted, 0 for edited, 1 for newly inserted).
After every fortnight, i have to run a batchquery that does the following:
1. all students marked with -1 are moved to a table called StuHistory which has the same structure as that of Student.
2. Now oncethe -1 status students are moved, there will be a gap in the roll no. I want to reallocate the rollnos now, where rollnos = desired roll no taking into consideration the trackingno
So if 4 students have chosen the desired roll no as 5 and their current roll no is scattered in a subsection lets say 7, 10, 14,16, then while rearranging they will be together(grouped by subsection/section) and will be allocated roll no's 5,6,7,8. The other students will be moved down based on their desired roll nos. Over here i have to also fill the gaps caused because of the students who were deleted.
How do i write query for this? I have been struggling.
I thought of posting this as a new post as it was mixed in the previous post.

I have a requirement to Insert Column 1 and Column 2 based on below condition only. Looking for a Store procedure or query
Condition : Allow Insert when column 1 and Column 2 have same values on 2nd row insert. But should not allow insert when Column 2 value is different.
ALLOW INSERT:
Column1 Column2

DONOT ALLOW INSERT: (COLUMN1 ID should not allow different dates)
