I have created a trigger that is set off every time a new item has been added to TableA.The trigger then inserts 4 rows into TableB that contains two columns (item, task type).

I have a table named LEDGER
LEDGER has two columns named PATID and CODE
Example data:

I need a query that returns PATID if they have CODE Z0330 but not Z1110. I only want one PATID to return if this condition exists.
I'm new to MS SQL and VB. I have a table with one field JOB_NAME containing 20 records. Out of that field I want to retrieve 6 of the 20 records into a pulldown menu. They are all unique text names like so:
Anna Smith
John Doe
etc. I did not see IDs listed for any of the names in the table when I looked.
There is no common denominator to the names that can be filtered in the SELECT statement, and the 6 that I want will need to be pulled out individually.
Is there a way to do this with a SELECT statement? I have not found much information about how to extract unique records out of a single field. Here's the statement I'm using which pulls all of them:
strSQL = "SELECT DISTINCT JOB_NAME AS Names FROM [WORKER_NAMES] WHERE JOB_NAME<>' ' ORDER BY JOB_NAME ASC"
This gives me the total list but I only want to bring back 6 of the 20 for the pulldown.
Is there a way to modify this statement to pull only the records that I want?

I have set up a 'Parameters' table that solely stores all pre-assigned selection values for a webform. I customized a stored query to Select the values from the Parameters table. I set up the webform. The result is that the form1.apsx automatically populates each DropDownList task with the pre-assigned values from the 'Parameters' table (for example, the stored values in the 'Parameters' table 'Home', 'Business', and 'Other' populate the drop down list for 'Type').
The programming to move the selected data from form1.aspx to a new table in the SQL database perplexes me. If possible, I would like to use the form1.aspx to Postback (or Insert) the "selected" data to a *new* column in a *new* table (such as writing the data to the 'CustomerType' column in the 'Customers' table; I clearly do not want to write back to the 'Parameters' table). Any help to get over this hurdle would be deeply appreciated.

The "QUDDAT-INT" column houses the employee number. So in the case of the SELECT query above, I am testing against a specific employee number.

I have a query that will return one record as its results if you provide two variables: @login and @record_date. This works great if you only want one result. I am trying to perform a query in SQL that will merge the contents of various table, using search criteria to narrow down the results. All of the tables have the exact same fields, and the search criteria is the same for all of them. What I am looking for is the most efficient way to perform this. I am using SQL stored procedures, and passing the results into my code. Note that in my real-world scenario there are more than three tables.
1) Merge all the tables into one and then perform the search criteria:
SELECT a, b, c FROM
(SELECT a, b, c FROM Table1
UNION ALL
SELECT a, b, c FROM Table2
UNION ALL
SELECT a, b, c FROM Table3) AS MY_MERGE
WHERE {SEARCH CRITERIA}
2) Perform the search criteria on each table and merge the results
SELECT a, b, c FROM
(SELECT a, b, c FROM Table1 WHERE {SEARCH CRITERIA}
UNION ALL
SELECT a, b, c FROM Table2 WHERE {SEARCH CRITERIA}
UNION ALL
SELECT a, b, c FROM Table3 AS MY_MERGE WHERE {SEARCH CRITERIA})

I have used several sql queris to generate a report. This queries pull out data from different tables. But sometimes at the same table too.
Basically those are SELECT statements.
I have created stored proc for each SELECT statement. now I'm wondering can I include all SELECT statements in one stored proc and run the report.
If possible, can anyone show me the format?

I have a user login scenario where I would like to make sure that they not only exist in the user table, but also make sure there account is "verified" and "active". I'm trying to return 3 output parameters. UserID, verified, active. Is this possible?

I just need the single select to result the docnbr which is repeating the values. In the above case I want my result like below where the DocNbr 00002 and 00004 repeated their values.

I know this isn't right but I'm trying to build a single query in PHP to re write the sortorder column starting at 0 and writing every row in order.
Code:

PHP Code:

Using PHP I can amend the loop above to slot in a row I want so I can change the sort order.

I want to work upon the concept for the first time. The situation is that I have a hotel table, fields are Hotel_ID, Hotel_Name, Hotel_Pic.
What i want is that when user click on the image of the hotel so a separate form or page is open where all the related images of that hotel are displayed in a table format.
I want to know that how to implement this concept? How many tables i would be needing for this.
