I need this simple query to run automatically every night at 11:30pm, everyday, but only for the Current Day's business.My file will output to .CVS format for import into Quickbooks. I'd love to have it import directly INTO Quickbook's, but I am not at that level yet..

Hi,I have a simple table called events, which lists the start and end dates of events. I'm using a calendar control that queries the db for events, but at the moment it does a check for every day by passing in the day. (Very inefficient) What I'd like to do is pass in the current month, and get a set of rows that have an event which is in that month. It sounds easy, but I'm a little confused about what to do if the event starts current month -1 and ends currentmonth +1 I obviously need to return results like these also.

I am writing a usage query, I need to determine what the current month and year is. If the current month is 1, then I need Year-1. I keep getting this error Line 5: Incorrect syntax near '='.
If I comment out the case statement just evaluate the (YEAR(User_Date) = YEAR(DATEADD(yy, - 1, GETDATE())))or (YEAR(User_Date) = YEAR(GETDATE())) by itself, the query works. What I am missing? Hi, I've just started using SQL Server Express with VWDE 2005 and I have a database with one table called EVENTS which has a datetime column called DATE. I want to select records where the DATE value is in the next two months.First I tried selecting records where the DATE value is >= today. I used the query builder to produce... SELECT [Date], [Title] FROM [Events] WHERE [Date] >= GETDATE()but got the error "Undefined function 'GETDATE' in expression".Am I missing something obvious?

Hi, I'm dabbling in trying to retrieve some info from an SQL database and publish it in Sharepoint data view. I'm trying to create a View in the SQL database that retrieves all records for the current month. So that in July, it automatically shows me July records, and when August ticks over, it automatically displays August's records. I can hard code the dates in to the query no probs (e.g. a statement like ENTRYDATE >= '1/07/2007') but was hoping there is a way to specify current month. So maybe the statement looks like ENTRYDATE >= "CURRENTMONTH".

I'm curious if there is a way to gather any metadata about a query that was just ran, or about a dynamic query passed in as a parameter, such as being able to "dynamically" return a list of columns in the query, along the lines of:
SELECT * FROM [myTable];
SELECT @@COLUMNS --Expecting this to return a recordset of columns for the previously run query
I'm not talking about querying metadata about the tables themselves, I'm really looking for what "metadata" might be available about the query itself.
This would be useful for me to dynamically generate some code for ad-hoc queries with a stored procedure call, or to simply return a list of just column names only without the data.
Is this at all possible in SQL Server?

I have a sql server express 2005 database with a table named Events with a column named Date (datetime datatype). I want a query that will display all rows that are either current or future but not past. I suspect there is a simple way of doing this. As a Newbie searching archived threads this is what I have come up with so far. I determine the number of days from present:SELECT DATEDIFF(day, Date, GETDATE()) AS NumberOfDays FROM EventsThis yields number of days from present with positive numbers in the past and negative numbers in the future. Thus setting a WHERE clause to <= 0 would limit my results to present or future events. Something like this:SELECT * FROM EventsWhere DATEDIFF(day, Date, GETDATE()) AS NumberOfDays <= 0The error message states: "Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'AS'"This feels like a clumsy way to approach this problem, but I have to start where I am.Any suggestions on how to proceed will be greatly appreciated.

I come in to work 6.30am, and need to audit what happened from 5pm when I left to 6.30am this morning. I have used code to search 13.5 hours back from any given time:
SELECT * FROM TRANSACTION_HISTORY
WHERE TRANSACTION_HISTORY.ACTIVITY_DATE_TIME > (SELECT DATEADD(hour,-13.5,(SELECT MAX (TRANSACTION_HISTORY.ACTIVITY_DATE_TIME) FROM TRANSACTION_HISTORY)))
Problem is if I run query later, I lose time from the start, eg. If I run query at 7am, I only get results from 5.30pm onwards. Rather than change criteria every day, I wanted to able to search from 6.30am of the current day, back to 5.30pm of the previous day.

I'm having problems creating a query that brings the results based on last 8 days on date column (column9) and diferrent year from the current one.
If I run the each filter,
Code SnippetYear(Column9) <> Year(GetDate())
and

Here is my query
SELECT id, (CONVERT(datetime, event_date)) AS event_date, xmlfilename, event_active FROM test WHERE (YEAR(event_date) >= YEAR(GETDATE())) AND (MONTH(event_date) >= MONTH(GETDATE())) AND (DAY(event_date) >= DAY(GETDATE())) ORDER BY event_date ASC
The above query shows me event only upcoming event from the current month.
I want to list all the events happening today and future. I do not want to show past event. How to do this?

There are two tables testmaster and testdetail. If the value of Price for a particular ID in testdetail is more than the threshold value defined in testmaster, the output should have a new column with value as 'High Value', if the value is less than the threshold the new output should be 'Low Value' other wise 'Ignore'
Example: for ID=3, threshold is defined as 40% in testmaster table, but on 11/12/2015 the new price is 100 which 100% more than the previous value, so the status is High Value as shown below.

I am currently working on a website that deals with sales of products. For one of my pages for the website I need it to be able to change the current sales information for a specific product.

They also need something to add places where they have worked or currently are working.
I have a form where they can add this and i add this experience using the following stored procedure:

It must be possible to add the place where they currently are working. Then the ExperienceUntil has to be something like still going on. Then I decided that the user then had to set the current date.
But what I want is the following, I want that the ExperienceUntil keeps updating automatically, like everytime i get that record, it has to have current date.
Is this possible ?
But if the ExperienceUntil isn't the current date , it just had to take the supplied parameter date.

Hi everyone,
Currenly, I'm getting the current year in my code, and passing this to my stored procedure.
I'm sure there's a way just to get the current year (ie '2004') just by using SQL.
I was just about to post this question here when I did a bit more digging around and found my solution:
DATEPART(yyyy, GETDATE())
This will get the year.
Hope this helps someone searching for the answer!

When viewing Current Activity, nothing shows up.
If i run sp_who, the return is normal.
If I run sp_who2, the following message is returned. (it also is returned randomly while using function in EM such as Backup/Restore.)
Msg 268, Level 16, State 1
You cannot run SELECT INTO in this database. The DBO would have to run sp_dboption to enable this option.
What is it??? It's buggin me......

p.s. I remember a similar problem in the past, it had to do with turning truncate on checkpoint in one of the system databases msdb/master/tempdb or something like that. I turned off all Trunc. and Select/Bulk options on these...
