I'm hoping someone can help explain why when i select timestamp field
2008-03-25 18:57:39.000 the view result changes to
04-04-2008 11:12:01 AM.

I need result of view to be in same format as table.

In my select statement I concatenate city+state+zipcode. In some cases the zipcode is 9 digits but is missing the '-'. How can I format zipcode to be '#####-####' when > 5 characters from the select statment.

Hey all,I have a basic table that looks something like this.CREATE TABLE MyTable(ID INT IDENTITY PRIMARY KEY,Company_ID INT NOT NULL,Round VARCHAR(50) NOT NULL,Details VARCHAR(250) NOT NULL)It has a few rows of data that look like this:Identity Company_ID Round Details--------------------------------------------1 5 A Blah, blah.2 5 B Generic data, blah blah.3 5 WERT More generic blah blah.Now what i'm trying to do during my select statement is select all the rowsthat belong to company_id 5 but if any of the rows round value contains thetext "WERT" convert that text into just a "--" for presentation purposes,but still select that row. I can't seem to figure out how i would transformthe text in the select statement? My immediate thought was substring /replace but i would need to combine it with an if else statement which i'veno idea how to make work in a select (sub-query maybe?) statement. Is thispossible? Perhaps i'm stuck iterating through the returned data within theclient application before presenting?Any help, as always, would be greatly appreciated.Muhd

Adapter To Convert CSV Format File To SAP IDOC Format

Hi All,

I am stuck at one place, where I have to convert CSV format file data into SAP IDOC format file. In SSIS we don't have any such SAP adapter (though we have .NET Data Provider for mySAP suite [SSIS SAP Adapter] but this is still not fully supported by Microsoft, plus it doesn't have feature to convert data into IDOC format) that can do this. Can someone here please provide me some pointers on any third party adapters available in market to do this job or if anyone has already developed some custom approach to achieve this task?

i am using visual studio 2005 webapplication based on sql server 2005 database.
i can get one date from sql using one query.
I am selecting my field based on following code CONVERT(varchar, Oman.Positions.Datum, 9) AS LastUpdate
this case my output is May 4 2008 3:19:45:000AM.....
this output is correct but from this output i want to avoid millisecond part.
ie i want the output like May 4 2008 3:19:45 AM....

I have a table that has a DATE field named. AccountingDate that is in the format YYYY-MM-DD. It's not a VARCHAR field. I simply want to convert this date field into the format MM/DD/YYYY and call it New_Accounting_Date.

I've played with various combinations of CAST & CONVERT but haven't been able to get it to work.

Below is my latest effort which returns the error:

What code would work to return a MM/DD/YYYY value for New_Accounting_Date?

SQL's America Date Format Conflict With Australian Date Format

Hi

I am trying get my VB6 application to insert a record into a table (SQL Express) which has a datetime column but it would not process if the data format is differ to *American Date format*.

The date() function in VB returns 15/11/2006 which is in Australian Date format (DD/MM/YYYY) according to my setting in "Reginal and Lanuage Option-> Locale 0> English (Australia)" setting.

I get the following error:

Msg 242, Level 16, State 3, Server KITSQLEXPRESS, Line 1
The conversion of a char data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range datetime value.
The statement has been terminated.

My computer's locale is set to English (Australia) and I expect the datetime format would follow what is set in system locale

I've read an article somewhere on the net about how SQL 2005 eliminate the confusion of date conversion when read/write datetime records into a table...but it seems to me that it is still as in-flexible as MS Access

Is there a setting in the database that takes care of it?

I have two mult-value parameters in my report. Both of them working with selecting one or more values. But, when I test using "(Select All)" values for both parameters , only one parameter works. The "available values" for these two parameters are both from the data set.

I have a report that uses different datasets based on the year selected by a user.

I have a year_id parameter that sets a report variable named dataset_chosen. I have varified that these are working correctly together.

I have attempted populating table cell data to display from the chosen dataset. As yet to no avail.

How could I display data from the dataset a user selects via the year_id options?
