How To Set The Height Of The Report Body/table Dynamically

Feb 2, 2006

Hi
I have a report of 8.5"(W) by 11"(H).The header and footer size are fixed.
The header size is 4.75 in and footer size is 2.375in.
In the report body I have a table where the data is dynamic.
The problem is when the data is small i mean like 2 or 3 columns it doesnt touch the footer .
If we have more than 10 columns or so it goes to the next page and even then it doesnt touch the footer beacuse the data stops there.
If we have like 4 columns or so in the table then it touches the footer.
I tried to replace the table with the list but I got the same problem there also.
I tried to place the table in a rectangle and it has the same problem.
I want the table to touch the footer no matter how much the data is .
Is there any work around for this problem?

I really appreciate your help and time
Thanks
Hobbs

Report Viewer Height Problem!! In IFRAME

Feb 12, 2007

Any body has problems using report viewer in IFrame? Here is the observation i have....when you assign the report.Height = 400px. It is assigning the report body height to be 400px. when i say report body I mean report body only!!

The report parameters section is not included in 400px. The export, print, page navigation button sections is not in 400px either!! Given such properties, when you want to show report viewer in a pre-determined IFRAME (non-scrollable) height of 500px, part of the report and horizontal report scroll bar could disappear , if the paratemeters section is more than 100px (says >2 rows or more than 4 parameters)!!

can someone tell me how to lock the height of report viewer size that will include parameters + export,print + report body? or any workaround?

The Body Of The Report Disappeared

Feb 6, 2008

Hello,
I was modifying some standard reports of one planning program, by downloading .rdl file from report server and creating a new report project. I have done so many times.
Last weak in one of those new reports only header of the report was seen in the report server as I thought I had made some kind of mistake tried to look for it, and after some time the problem fixed itself and I blamed everything on one mixed up connection between the tables in the report, because after removing it the problem fixed itself, but now I think that was just a coincidence.
This weak after working fine for about a weak, 6 reports appeared as only headers and footers, they worked fine yesterday and no changes were made to the reports, but in the morning only the header is seen.
The reports that are affected are the 4 new ones, and 2 original ones, they are all dealing with the same date just different grouping and sorting.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Hope my question is clear.

Table Height When Header Is Hidden

Aug 22, 2007

Hi. I have a rectangle in the page header which contains the report graphic and title. I use the rectangle's Propeties > Visibility tab > Expression, with the following code,

=IIF(Globals!PageNumber = 1, False, True)

However, on pages after page 1, the report table's height is the same as page 1 and it's positioned at the same spot as page 1 -- down about 2 inches from the top. How do I get the table's height to fill the page on pages after page 1?

Thank you.

Reporting Services :: SSRS Report Page Footer - How To Fix At Absolute Bottom With Dynamic Body Content

May 20, 2015

We have the customer requirement to display the footer of a SSRS Report fixed at the absolute bottom of a DIN A4 format page. The footer contains information like company address and stuff.

I searched quite a while on this topic and only found workarounds for SQL Server 2005 with Custom Code in the SSRS Report to calculate the size of the body content and then insert some empty lines to get the space needed to push the footer to the bottom of the page. But this won't work in SQL Server 2012. And I wasn't able to figure out how to achieve this yet.

Administrative Rights For Local Machine To Deploy Dynamically Created Report From Web App To Report Server

Feb 5, 2007

The current way I have my asp.net 2.0 web app running reports is, based on an
interface the user selects the criteria for a report. The .RDL file is created
dynamically based on the user's selections.
I then need to SOAP the dynamically created report to the report server and
then the report runs fine.
BUT it requires Adminstrative rights to do this. Can this be accomplished
without giving the local machine admin rights. I am sorry if this question
has been answered before but i have not been up here in a while.

How To Incorporate A Table Field Into The Email Message Body Nto As An Attachment?

Oct 5, 2005

Hello everyone,

Please i need your help...

I dont know how to place the field 'strTitle and datBorrowed " in my email? Not as an attachment though....Just write it in the mail as part of message body...

I use this SQL select statement to retrieve the strTitle and datBorrowed fields

strSQL += @"Select replace(strtitle,'[Original Book] - ',''), datBorrowed from tblBooks where convert(varchar(10),datBorrowed,101) = convert(varchar(10),(getdate() - 1),101) ORDER BY strTitle asc";

Now, I have the following code to write the email

static void SendTest()
{

int iEmailLanguage = 0;
MailMessage objMail;
objMail = new MailMessage();
objMail.From = MAIL_FROM;
objMail.To =MAIL_TO;
objMail.Subject = "Books Borrowed Yesterday";
objMail.Body = Dict.GetVal(iEmailLanguage, "EMAIL_MESSAGE");
objMail.Attachments.Add(new MailAttachment(strAttachment));
SmtpMail.SmtpServer = SSMTP_SERVER;
SmtpMail.Send(objMail);
}

And the body of the email is this......

Dict.AddVal(0, "EMAIL_MESSAGE", "*** This e-mail is automatically generated. ***" +
"*** PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS E-MAIL. ***" +
"" +
"Books Borrowed Yesterday are:" +

"" +
"" +
"Thank you," +
"" +
"eLibrarian" +
"" +
"================================================== ===============" +
"" +
"This e-mail is automatically generated by the Library system." +
"Please do not reply.");

i need to put or wedge the data i got from the SQL Statement into this or after the line "Books Borrowed Yesterday are:" +

So how should i do this?

Dynamically Creating Report Width

Apr 5, 2007

Has anyone found out how to dynamically create report width.

If I have 20 columns on a report all of 2cm, then report will be 40cm width.

If I display the columns based on specific criteria using the iif function and then setting the an expression for the Visibility Hidden property, the report could potentially reduce in width.

I cannot see how to build an expression for the report width or table width, to accommodate the potential change in the width of the report when columns are not shown, thus it pages incorrectly, leaving huge white space on the right of the report when columns are hidden... has anyone come across this requirement, and hopefully a solution for it?

Many Thanks people

Dynamically Order Columns In Report

Mar 10, 2008

I have a report that displays data based on the last 12 months. Is there a way I can order the columns (header and data) based on the month it was run. eg. If I were to run the report in March, I want the columns to be ordered like this:

MAR, APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV, DEC, JAN, FEB

If run the report in April, I want the columns to be ordered like this:

APR, MAY, JUN, JUL, AUG, SEP, OCT, NOV, DEC, JAN, FEB, MAR

So, the columns in the report are always ordered (12 months backward) based on the month it was run.

Dynamically Hiding Columns In A Matrix Report

Mar 5, 2008

Hi,

I am wondering if someone has some experience with hiding columns in a Matrix report. I have got two details columns: "Yr to Yr Credits Growth€? and "Yr to Yr Credits Growth %" and those two columns return only one value "N/A" for the earliest year since there is nothing to compare to. Thus, I don't really need them for the earliest year. On top of detail columns, I have got three matrix groups: matrix1-Year, matrix1-Quarter and matrix-Date. Once those two detail columns are hidden, I would like obviously resize (shrink) those three matrix groups columns to reflect the fact that the detail columns were hidden.

Thanks!

Setting Default Value Of A Report Parameter Dynamically

Jan 26, 2007

Hi all,

Does sombody have experience on dynamically set or change the default value of a report parameter?

Assuming: report parameters p1, p2, p3, p4 have been set up(and have their default value 'all') with the creation of the report1; report browseing is through reportviewer that embedded in the web application; datasource is datacube

What I want to do: based on the login user of the my web application, set default value of p1 as the user's username.

What I did is:

Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter reportParam = new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter("P1","Mary");

ReportViewer1.ServerReport.SetParameters(new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportParameter []{ reportParam });

what I got when reveiw the report:

P1 has no default value, and p2, p3, p4 greyed and could not choose value from them.

Any idea and suggestion will be pre-appreciated!

Setting Prompt Text For Report Parameters Dynamically

Oct 31, 2007

Hi all
I hope someone can help me on this issue:
I am designing dynamical reports, that are abel to run in four different languages - so far everything works just fine for me (I select my headers and labels from a database). Only problem is the prompt text for report parameters. How can I set this text dynamically?

E.g. I have a parameter where the user selects a storage - this prompt should be "Storage: " in the English report and "Lager: " in the Danish report. I have absolutely no idea how to fix this.

I am greatful for any help.

Dynamically Generating SMDL (Report Model Definitions) With C#

Apr 20, 2006

My problem is this: How do I dynamically generate a Report Model Definition with c#?

Is there some sort of method I could call from the ReportingService2005 web service? Or some sort of APIs I could use?

If I didn't have a dynamic database structure, I would just create a Report Model Definition with BIS and then deploy the same model to each customer. However, our product creates additional tables in the database, depending on what data users wish to collect.

There are currently 2 solutions for this problem. First, I can manually create a Report Model Definition through the Buisness Intelligence Studio (BIS). However, I wish to be able to dynamically generate the report model without having to go through BIS. Second, I could use C# and manually write the XML of the SMDL. However this seems problematic.

I'm really hoping for some MS API that I'm missing out on here. Thanks for the help.
