In a multi-parameters report I want to show the parameter(s) user selected in a text box. How to set this up. For example user selected A, B, C in the parameter dropdown etc in the text box I want to show A, B, C.

I have a field called "Owners", and it's a child to an "Activities" table.
An Activity can have on or more owners, and what I'd like to do is some how comma separate the values that come back if there are more than one owners.
I've tried a subreport, but because the row is colored and if another field, title, expands to a second row (b/c of the length) and the subreport has just one name, then the sub-report has some different color underneath due to it being smaller in height.
I'm kinda stuck on how to do this.

Is there a way in rs to have a textbox more than the first value when it is dragged on the rs form when creating a report? currently when I drag a text box on the rs form, it only shows the first record on a page/form. There are twenty records on the table where the first value came from. How can I make so that twenty text boxes representing twenty records appear on twenty different pages. In other words, I am trying to build a report with a non - tabular structure that can repeat on different pages.

In my cube there is a customer dimension and a product dimension.
If I filter on a single customer, and then click on the filter dropdown for product, all of the products for every customer are shown.
Is it possible to make it so it only show the members for the customer selected?
I suspect the answer is no, as that would mean you can't untick any previously ticked members, but our account management team have got the right hump about them showing so I need to at least attempt it.

I'm developing an SSRS report using VS2013 Premium with SSDT - BI v12.0.2430.0. SSRS is hosted on a SQL 2014 instance.The underlying database table has a varchar(max) field which stores text and embedded image data from a third-party application. I can extract this text, save it as an html file and open that in a browser. It renders complete with any embedded image.Meanwhile, the report textbox has its Placeholder Properties, Markup type set to HTML. Yet when I run the report, the text is displayed but any embedded image is not.Is there any approach I can take, perhaps transforming the varchar(max) data to another format in the query for my dataset, that can show the text and any embedded image in my report? Or is it that the TextBox control is limited, not unreasonably, to text only? If so, is there another control I could use, perhaps custom or third-party?

HiI am working on a site right now. Basicly how it works is they choose from a list of checkboxes what they want to be quized on. This all gets stored in an arrayList. Once they done that they have an option to save there settings so they don't have to go through the list and choose everything again if they want to come back and do that same quiz. So I am trying to take all those options in the arrayList and put them into the database. So I have 4 questions. Question 1.This is how I was thinking my database design should be.This table that all this stuff is going to be inserted into is called QuickLinks. Originally I was thinking of having a PK to FK relationship with the Asp membership table called Membership(or User Table was another posibility). I am now thinking that is a waste of time and pointless. My first reasoning was well this way I can get the UserID from that table but now I realize no I actually need the UserID to be in the QuickLink table before I try to join the two tables together. With joining the 2 tables I don't get anything out of it since if I just do a check if the User is logged in before I insert the data into the database I can just slip the userID in there as well. Then the QuickLink table should have everything it needs. So My question is I am thinking of having the quick Link talbe to operate like this. Say you have 50 items in the array(this is all from the same item). Each item will gets its own row that will have the UserID,CharacterName,CharacterImagePath, QuickLinkName plus the LinkID.So when I need to call that information I just have to look at 2 pieces of information. Find all the rows that have the same QuickLink name and UserID. So is this a good way to store the data? Question 2.Currently right now I have UserID as unquieIdentifer but I am guessing if I have 50 rows with the same UserID it won't like that very much since its not Unquie. I have been working on a database and I have imported a number of lists into multiple tables.
I am having a lot of trouble writing the SQL code to be able to query across multiple tables. For instance, I want to know if john doe is on all five lists or if he is only on 3 lists (search by student name).

View 10 Replies View RelatedWe are trying to do something basic with SRS but we can't seem to get iit to work. Here's the scenario: We want to send out a monthly report that consists of numerous subreports. Each subreport stands on its own withh its own data source.
On our main report we drag the subreports into position as we want them to display. But when we run the report sometimes we get 2 subreports on 1 page, other times we get 1.... Bottom line is that we want to get 7-8 subreports on one page. Any ideas on what we can do to get everything on one page?

Hi, I am a extreme beginer to sql server and i am i'm having big trouble trying to display my sql query properly. Bascially i want to put the results of a one to many query into one row per record. I have read articles and forums discussing 'concatenating the values' or creating a function??? but i dont follow what they mean and i am completely lost. I have a table that I filled with data imported from another database.
What I need to do is now take this huge table and break apart the information and put it into 5 smaller tables.
So I have a huge insert statement.
I have one main table called Property with two keys. One key is a "Prop_ID" and the other is "owner" where Prop_Id is a automated unique ID. Once the information is inserted into that table, I then get the Unique ID that it was given, and I then used that ID to insert into the other tables.
The problem I am encountering is I keep getting the following error
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_Prop_Res_Detail'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'Prop_Res_Detail'.
The statement has been terminated.
I have an idea what might be going wrong, but I am not sure. What I want to happen is that I want the query to look at the first row of the huge table and then do all 4 of the inserts, and then go to the next row. But I think it is trying to all the inserts into the property table, and then go on to the Prop_Res_Detail table and that is why I am getting that error.
Any help is greatly appreicated.

I frequently have the problem where I have a list of items to delete ina temp table, such asProjectId Description------------- ----------------1 test12 test43 test34 test2And I want to delete all those items from another table.. What is thebest way to do that? If I use two IN clauses it will do it where itmatches anything in both, not the exact combination of the two. I'm having an issue creating a report that can group & sum similar items together (I know in some ways, the requirement doesn't make sense, but it's what the client wants).
I have a table of items (i.e. products). In some cases, items can be components of another item (called "Kits"). In this scenario, we consider the kit itself, the "parent item" and the components within the kit are called "child items". In our Items table, we have a field called "Parent_Item_Id". Records for Child Items contain the Item Id of the parent. So a sample of my database would be the following:

I am writing a report in SQL server 2005 Reporting service. The report has two parts: first part shows basic information about the client; the second part lists all the softwares the client has. My question is how to make the softwares listed in two columns as shown below?
John Smith
Title: MSTP Location: Main Campus IP:127.0.0.1
Softwares:
Adobe Standard 7.0 Access 5.0
Internet Explore 6.0 Office XP

I want to add up the values in a couple of text boxes in another textbox. How do I refer to the textboxes?

in my table i ve the column of item code which contains '1000' ,'2000' ,'3000' series i jus wanna display the output of item codes '1000','2000'series and some of ('3000019','3000020','3000077','3000078').
i tried in my join query
these code left(itemcode,4) in ('1000','2000') or itemcode in ('3000019','3000020','3000077','3000078')
its taking so much of time how t o solve ?
I created a query that got the following result. But I expect to get the structure like, care_nbr, cust_nbr,legal_name, address_type=physical address, addr_line_1, addr_line_2, address_type-primary address, ddr_line_1, addr_line_2. That means I only need primary and physical address, and expect them to show in a row to each care_nbr. How to perform that?

I have a parameter "time frame" which contains two value- 6 months ,12 months an 18 months which shows data of 6 months , 12 months and 18 months.
In my ssrs report i have 18 columns :
jan|feb|mar|apr|may|jun|july|aug|sep|oct|nov|dec|jan|feb|mar|apr|my|jun
The first six months will be displayed in each case.
But when i choose 6 months i just want to display first six months only.when i choose 12 months i want to be displayed first 12 months columns only and for 18 months all the columns,.

I have a report which runs in local mode and while designing the report I have placed a single image control inside the list box as I don't know before hand how many images are there :
What is the way to show all the images using the one image control inside the report viewer control. ? Can be 2 or 3 or 4.....
