Unnamed tape (Family ID: 0xcfb8a96c, sequence 1) dismounted from tape drive ‘master tape backup’.
this also happens for the mounted part also, how do I name a tape drive? or stop these warnings in the event logs?
thanks for your help
I use VB 6.0 with ADO 2.6 to access an SQL-server.
I know that the table I wish to create generates this warning.
But from today ( without any changes to the SQL-server ) , this warning is reported as an error to the client instead of continuing.
So my error trap routine traps this as an error now.
I have a workaround that I would to avoid and that's reinstalling the SQL-server ( Only the MSSQL ).
Does anybody know a better solution.
PS : Changing the table structure is not possible in this case.
Thnx in advance,

Can anyone tell me what this warning message in the Quotes below...
I get this on one of our servers every 15 minutes in the event Viewer..
Here is the message in the event Viewer..
"Replication of license information failed because the License Logging Service on server PSNJRPDC could not be contacted."
Thanks All,

We are seeing the following error message in our SQL logs and was hoping for some advice.
"Warning: the available page file space has dropped below 4 MB"
To fix the problem we thought we should increase our paging file size for our virtual memory on the server. The recommended allocation was 3083 MB and previously we were using less than the recommended amount so we allocated 7167 MB (the max we were allowed). Do you see any problems with this or have any recommendations?
I'm getting the following error message
[rsNonAggregateInMatrixCell] The Value expression for the textbox €˜IMAGE_TOTAL_1€™ references a field outside an aggregate function. Value expressions in matrix cells should be aggregates, to allow for subtotaling.
the cell it is refering to is in the data area of a matrix.
The value expression is =sum(Fields!IMAGE_TOTAL.Value,"MAIN")
this cell also has a navigation set to "job to a report"
When i take out the navigation the warning messages go away.
Is there an issue with using navigation link on a textbox with an aggregate in it?
ps - everything runs fine I just get a warning message.
"Warning: Null value is eliminated by an aggregate or other SET operation."
i keep having this message while having some joint statement.
is there a way to prevent this or even hide this message?
Hi,
I have to write a sp which takes in a input and redirect the result to a text file?
Any idea how to write it?
TIA.
Hi everyone,
I posted a related thread before about this error below when I process a dimension. And seems that the solution by using "ClearCache" can not fingure out the issue when I want to process a mining structure...... .
OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: There is not enough procedure cache to run this procedure, trigger, or SQL batch. Retry later, or ask your SA to reconfigure SQL Server with more procedure cache.
; Sort failed because there is insufficient procedure cache for the configured number of sort buffers. Please retry the query after configuring lesser number of sort buffers.
Could someone please give me some suggestions?
Your help will be very appreciated:-)
Thanks^_^

Hi there,
I have only this warning message during the System Configuration Check:

I'm running on Windows 64-bit Pro. edition.

Hello,
I have been trying to drill down to the cause for this event log message:
"The configuration of the AdminConnectionTCP protocol in the SQL instance
SQLEXPRESS is not valid."
It is reported from the SQLBrowser service as a warning when the service
starts. I have tried starting SQLBrowser.exe with -c flag, but the output reveals no
errors. I have seen this error on three computers. Two are running SQL 2000, 2005
and Express. One was only running Express, but still this message.
I then looked into the log for the SQL Express server itself. It shows this
message on startup:
"Dedicated administrator connection support was not started because it is
not available on this edition of SQL Server. This is an informational message
only. No user action is required."
Now, it appears to me that these two messages may relate to the same
"error" (or rather behaviour by design). So, can anyone confirm that the
warning in the event log from the SQL Browser service occurs becuase of that
the SQL Express edition doesn't allow any "AdminConnection", but the SQL
Browser service isn't aware of that SQL Express edition shouldn't support that, and
reports it as a warning (implying that we can't do much about this warning)?
Thanks for any input on this issue!
I have Visual Web Developer worked on my computer, but I can't make SQL Server work for data-driven. I have uninstalled and install VWD from http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/downloads/default.aspx , the same Error message...... Hello,
I wrote a data mining plug-in algorithm in SSAS and now I am trying to view the lift chart in Management Studio. The studio gives the following error:
"The Data Mining Query builder control cannot be initialized due to the following problem:
Deserialization failed: Multiple definition of element 'Column12' causes the content model to become ambigious. A content model must be formed such that during validation of an element information item sequence, the particle contained directly, indirectly or implicitly therein with which to attempt to validate each item in the sequence in turn can be uniquely determined without examining the content or attributes of that item, and without any information about the items in the remainder of the sequence."
I really do not understand what i did wrong. Can anybody help me?
Thanks, Joris
I'm having problems designing a package to attempt to execute a fast load data transfer but failback to regular speed with error redirection in the event of an error.
The way I designed this was to add one data flow task to my package called "DFT FASTLOAD". The data flow copies a table SRC to another table DEST in the same SQL Server database. In the error handler for the data flow task I copied the original data flow task and changed the name to "DFT REGULARLOAD with Error redirection". In this data flow task I did not use fast load and addtionally redirected errors to a text file.
In the Data Flow Task "DFT FASTLOAD". I am copying from a varchar source field(with non-date strings) to a datetime destination field to force errors. However the Data Flow Task "DFT REGULARLOAD with Error redirection" never seems to start transferring data from source to destination. The data Flow Task "DFT REGULARLOAD with Error redirection" turns yellow (after the error occurs in "DFT FASTLOAD"), but no data is being transferred). It seems like it hangs.
Do I need to increase the MaximumError Count or something? The data flow task "DFT FASTLOAD" does not turn red when the error occurs it just remains yellow, so i assume I'm on the right track since it seems the error is caught.
I have added screenshots ... hopefully these screenshots will clarify my problem.

Hello Experts,
I have an error message I was wondering if anyone else has seen and resolved. When I open excel and click on the query wizard on the Data Mining Ribbon, I get an error message that says "Input String not in Correct Format"
After I close this dialog box the 'Welcome to Query .... ' wizard will open, but when I select the Advance button my process aborts due to the input string error.
I have only ran association models on the computer.
The Manage Models and Browse buttons work fine.
The error came up on Friday, but it wasn't there on Thursday. There were no changes done to the machine (no installation of new software).
I have tried reinstalling the add-in.
Thank you all for your help,
Davy
I have pasted the SQL syntax below that I get from the error dialog box after the query wizard closes.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Ok guys, I am trying to install Sql server 2005 on Vista but I am still stuck with this warning message in the System Configuration Check during Sql server 2K5 installation :
SQL Server Edition Operating System Compatibility (Warning)
Messages
* SQL Server Edition Operating System Compatibility
* Some components of this edition of SQL Server are not supported on this operating system. For details, see 'Hardware and Software Requirements for Installing SQL Server 2005' in Microsoft SQL Server Books Online.
Now, I know I need to install SP2 but how the hell I am going to install SP2 if Sql server 2005 doesn't install any of the components including Sql server Database services, Analysus services, Reporting integration services( only the workstation component is available for installation)?
Any work around for this issue?
P.S.: I didn't install VS.NET 2005 yet, can this solve the problem?
Thanks.
Hi, all here,
I am wondering where can I store my mining results in data mining engine? For example, I got mining results like accuracy chart, decision trees, and other formats of results based on different mining algorithms I used for my data mining, so where can I actually store the results for reporting service use later? Is it possible to do that in SQL Server 2005?
Thanks a lot for any help and guidance in advance.
Hi there,
I have read about SQL Server Integration Services and that they also provide Text Mining service. I have looked at one of the tutorials but it seems that the thing that I want is not there. I want the following:
I want to develop a domain-specific knowledgable system that reads some unstructured data related to the domain. Then, when I query it will provide the most candidate results from these documents ranked by the most appropriate to the least (if the answer is there).
Please let me know if you beleive that I still can use SQL Server integration Services to implement this scenario. Otherwise, if you have any other resourse, like SDK, that can help me please let me know as well.
Regards
I'm trying to figure to figure out the best way to query our database for
One of our developers is implementing a "global search" feature on our intranet. The idea is that a single search string will query multiple columns in a table. For example, searching for "mike fedex" would return the following records:
company | firstname | lastname | notes
FedEx | Mike | Smith | this guy is cool
Paint World | Mike | Anderson | Used to work for FedEx
but not:
Bodum | Mike | Easton | I like apples
because it does not contain all of the search terms.
I tried to create a computed column on our "contacts" table that simply concatenated all of the fields I wanted to search. The idea was to then use CONTAINS or CONTAINSTABLE on the computed column like this: SELECT... WHERE CONTAINS(computed_column, 'word1 AND word1 AND word3'). That would work great, until I realized you can't add a computed column to your full-text index.
Pain.
Any suggestions?
EDIT: The magic sauce needs to be able to search multiple terms across multiple columns with no concern for the order of the words in the search term. For example, searching for "Please Help" and "Help Please" would return the same results. Using LIKE '%Please%Help' and LIKE '%Help%Please' would return very different results.

Hi,
Somewhere in the literature surrounding SQL Server 2005 DM, I saw a reference to a project that collected and mined RSS data.
Does such a project exist?
Thanks,
Bob
Hi!
I have some questions regarding text mining in Microsoft Data Mining Add-Ins for Office 2007.
What do I need to use data mining (especially text mining) through the Microsoft solution?
I guess I need the following:
1) Microsoft Office 2007 (or Microsoft Excel 2007) [does it work with Microsoft Office 2003?]
2) Microsoft SQL Server 2005 [is it possible to use the text mining tool in Excel without access to the SQL Server? For example to directly analyze text data from an Excel worksheet]
3) The Microsoft Data Mining Add-Ins for Office 2007 (which is free of charge?)
What can I do regarding text mining?
1) Is it possible to analyze text data in different languages? [For example French, Swedish, Portuguese, Spanish text; i.e. other languages then English.]
2) Can I count how many cells that contain a specific phrase or a specific word?
3) Can I count how many cells that contain a specific phrase or a specific word given that it fulfill a specific criterion (e.g. given that it has a specific word in another column)?
4) Has the add-in a good options to aggregate words which are synonyms, or miss spelled, in relation to a specific key word?
4) What are the advantages and disadvantages to use the Microsoft solution in comparison to Clementine from SPSS or SPSS Text Analysis for Surveys?

hey everbody,
i'm absolutely new to any sort of data management
here it goes: suppose we store 100 .txt or .doc files in sql server and we want that none of the files data should match more than 60%: the question which arises are
1. how do we store files in ms-sql (binary format or normal text)?
2. how do we match the files?
3. what code we write in c# for this purpose?
4. has this nething to do with pattern recognition?
My request to all new n active experienced user's to participate because Plzzzzz help me?

Unfortunately, the tutorial is for the Beta version, and therefore there are major differences from the Beta to the current version. The steps can be used as objectives to accomplish.
1). The last page of the tutorial (item 7), Deployment data mining models - Not covered in this tutorial at this moment. What needs to be done in the deployment?
2). The Decision Tree in my project has one node, how would I make the tree show up?
3). My data results are not consistent with the tutorial? Would the software modifications since Beta be the reason?
Everything I've read says that custom data flow components are built by inheriting from the Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Pipeline.PipelineComponent class.
But the stock components such as the Derived Column data flow transformation must each be implemented by their own class. So how do I base my custom components on those classes? The documentation for the PipelineComponent class doesn't list any such subclasses.

Hi,
In another thread Jamie Thomson very informatively said "The components in SSIS
are deliberately atomic (i.e. they do something very specific) so that
its easy to put them together to build something greater than the sum
of the parts". Which does make a lot of sense. However, I've been finding that I end up having to create exactly the same "pattern" of combined transform components again and again in order to solve the same problem but in different dataflows (or even within the same dataflow). Cut-and-paste-tastic! In order to obtain real re-use, it seems to me like SSIS is crying out for an easy way to create new components by using composition - i.e. the ability to take commonly-used combinations of existing components and create new "super" components (without having to write Custom Transform Components in C#/VB.Net and handle everything in code).
Does anyone know if this sort of functionality is likely to make it into SSIS in the forseeable future?

I am trying to catch and parse the message after passing a transaction to SQL from a clr proc. For example in the below code after passing sp.ExecuteAndSend(qry) how can I receive the message of "(1 row(s) affected)" from the messages tab. I know that I can write to the message tab with sp.Send, but is it possible to read from the output?
Thank you in advance for your assistance
Code Snippet
Imports System.Data.SqlClient
Partial Public Class StoredProcedures

Dim sContents As String
Dim sp As SqlPipe = SqlContext.Pipe()
Dim qry As New SqlCommand()
Dim stmReader As New StreamReader(sInputFile)
Try
'Create a string reader and pass it the input parameter of the
'file path. The sContents variable will receive the content of
'the stream reader
sContents = stmReader.ReadToEnd()
stmReader.Close()
'Replace single quotes to enclose the quotes so errors aren't raised

Our company sends out sms text mesgs from our MSSQL Database and stores the responses in a table when a reply is received. My problem is now that some mesgs are showing as blank(even when I copy the raw data field out of the query return window) yet when I check the length of the field, it contains data. I set the field to a Temp Variable and converted the contents to ascii and definitely found that it shows data.
We use this reply as a rating system and I have queries and functions that extract the info I need, the problem is that I need to convert this field into a readable field first before I can extract the info.
SQL example:
Select T2.ReceivedData , Datalength(T2.ReceivedData) Length
FROM DMZWEB01.[SMS_SERVICE].[dbo].[Sent] T1
LEFT JOIN DMZWEB01.[SMS_SERVICE].[dbo].[Reply] T2 ON T1.ID = T2.ID
INNER JOIN Clm_ClaimsRegister T3 ON T1.PolicyNumber = T3.Claim_No
Where T1.id = 1158008
This returns a blank field and a datalength of 6.
To prove that the field contains data, a query that can run is:
DECLARE @Temp VarChar(8) =
(Select T2.ReceivedData
FROM DMZWEB01.[SMS_SERVICE].[dbo].[Sent] T1
LEFT JOIN DMZWEB01.[SMS_SERVICE].[dbo].[Reply] T2 ON T1.ID = T2.ID
INNER JOIN Clm_ClaimsRegister T3 ON T1.PolicyNumber = T3.Claim_No
Where T1.id = 1158008
[Code] ...
This returns < Line numbers >
1>
2>1
3>
4>0
5>&
6>:
7>
the actual field is pasted between these two comment '' signs below
''
see? nothing
Hi,
I'm new to SQL Server and I'm building an SQL Server 2000 database that will be loaded and accessed via stored procedures.
One of the requirements is that I have to log any errors that occur to an error log table containing the date/time, error code and the exact error text - ie containing problem table name, column name, etc.
The problem I'm having is that I can't see a way of capturing the exact error text in a stored procedure. The only thing that seems available is @@error which only returns the error code - not the actual text. I could go to the sysmessages table using the error code but that'll only return the message template containing parameters - not containing the actual table/column/etc causing the problem.
Does anyone have any ideas how to retrieve the exact error message text?
Any help would be most appreciated!
Regards,
Chris
