now i want to relate and join the table so that i can create a view with the following coloumns such as
start_date_time, dialed_digits, rounded_digits, cost, country, code,rate/min so can any body help me please i have tried outerjoin but it gave me rudundant data so please help me plz its urgent...
I have a lot of News. Only i want to get last 10 news and piorty is important for me to change orders of the news. So i add a new coloumn in the table (Piorty int) ...

we need to decide an architecture for Performance on a web site Search! I wanna use text service of SQL 2005 .But I am worried about the performance .... How should I design the system if I want the best perfomance and scalability ?1.Should I build a seperate coloumn in my every table and merge all the information into one coloumn and full text index that column.2.Put a full text index in all column in the table and use OR clause and reverse rank it for AND clause, using CONTAINSTABLE function.3.Make a different table and put _ID,_TYPE and _VALUE fields and search in that table with less coloumns.4.Seperate the full text database and search in a seperate db so that I can scale better?did anybody have a similiar problem ? Any books on full text search ?
I have two tables. One table (Table 1) has a column containing commadelaminated email addresses. The other table (Table 2) has a columnwith just one email address in it. I need to perform a query thatjoins the comma delaminated table (Table 1) to Table 2, when the singleemail address in Table 2, is contained in the list of email addressesin (Table 1).I hope this isn't too cryptic, and I know comma delaminated lists arebad, but I can't do anything about that.I need a select statement that can perform this task. Anyone have anysuggestions?
We are working on a project, (C#.Net 2003, MS SQL 2000) where database is growing as 2 to 3 GB per day (Scanned Documents are storing in Database). There is only one table in the database. Currently database size is grown upto 200 GB. For safety reason we are planning to split the database accoring to one key field in the table say Book_no.
Please guide/suggest me how to split the database now on the SQL query like "SELECT * FROM master_records WHERE book_no=1" And later how to merge/combine all these splitted database into one. I thought of using "Data Export" and later "Import with Append" but don't know whethere it will effective or not? Any method or tool available to Split the database table and later combine them to make again a single one?
hi friends i am new to this forum and to the tech. also , i am reading a csv file and storing the data to the table of sql server 2005 database but the problem is i cannot join both the tables because both the tables doesnot have common cols and ther is no primary key field in any of the coloumn i have tried the sql query but i didn't got the desired output so could anyone help me please see the sql query of mine is like this:
SELECT dbo.table1.country, dbo.table1.code, dbo.table1.rate_min, dbo.table2.start_date_time, dbo.table2.rounded_dur, dbo.table2.cost, dbo.table2.dialed_digits FROM dbo.table1 INNER JOIN dbo.table2 ON dbo.table1.code = SUBSTRING(dbo.table2.dialed_digits, 1, 2) OR dbo.table1.code = SUBSTRING(dbo.table2.dialed_digits, 1, 3) OR dbo.table1.code = SUBSTRING(dbo.table2.dialed_digits, 1, 4) OR dbo.table1.code = SUBSTRING(dbo.table2.dialed_digits, 1, 5) OR dbo.table1.code = SUBSTRING(dbo.table2.dialed_digits, 1, 6)
Hello, Im a very new to SQL server etc, so please bear with me.
I am currently trying to find a quick way of making a large number of database entries within a particular table all have the same value in one particular column.
I have created a query in MS SQL Server Management Studio, which outputs all the entries in a particular table that I want to change. Currently they all have different values in a certain column in this table, and I want them all to have the same value in that column.
I am struck at one point. I am trying to this operation and not able to go further.
1. I have got the dataset to a variable in the control flow.
2. I am looping through the dataset based on a coloumn.
3. Now inside my For each loop i have a dataflow task.
4. In the data flow task i am trying to build a dynamic query using the OLEDB Source and i have selected SQL Command from variable. And the variable build the Query as select * from @othervariable.
Now my question is
Can i send the data of each of the Query resultset to an out put text file using Flat File Connection? If yes pls guide me how? I have tried to create a flat file connection but i am failing how to map the data comming from step 4 dynamically for every query, since every query gives you a different resultset with different coloumns.
I am trying to break apart a list of filenames that was inserted into a database. It only breaks out the first one then moves onto the next record. If I do them individually then seem to work but not the whole table when queried. I need to break out each file into a temp table then insert them into a documents field in a database.
my filenames look like so and can have from 1 file name to 10 file names in the string.
This is my current method, I needed to create a cursor around it to go through all the records, split out the filenames and insert into a temp table. But if there is a better way ill do it. The problem with this is only the first file is getting inserted into the temp table and nothing else even if the filename has 4 files in it.
Create table #tempFiles (OldStrId int, OldPercent int, strfilename varchar(max), RequestId int, OblId int) declare @OldStr int, @OldPer int, @FileName varchar(max), @intcount int; Declare filenames CURSOR FOR Select intSTRBonusID, intPercentID, strFileName from tblSTR where strFileName > '' UNION ALL Select intSTRBonusID, intPercentID, strFileName from tblSTRHist where intPercentID in (61,62) and strFileName > ''
I've a table that has salescode(124!080) and salesamount(125.65!19.25) and I need to split the columns. Salesman(124) has commission(125.65). Here is the DDL:
USE tempdb; GO DECLARE @TEST_DATA TABLE ( DT_ID INT IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED , InvNoVARCHAR(10) NOT NULL , SalesCode NCHAR(80) NOT NULL , Amount NCHAR(80) NOT NULL
I need to split the amount equally into 12 months from Jan 2015 through Dec 2015.There is no date column in the table and the total amount has to be splitted equally.Guess I can't use Pivot here because the date column is not there ...How can I achieve this ?
CREATE TABLE #tbl_data ( Region Varchar(25), Amount FLOAT,
In t-sql 2012, the followinng sql works fine when I declare @reportID.
IF @reportID <> 0 BEGIN SELECT 'Students report 1' AS selectRptName, 1 AS rptNumValue UNION SELECT 'Students report 2', 2 UNION
[code]...
However when I use the sql above in an ssrs 2012 report, the query does not work since the @reportID parameter can have 0, 1, or up to 200 values. Thus I am thinking of calling the following following function to split out the parameter values:
FUNCTION [dbo].[fn_splitString] ( @listString VARCHAR(MAX) ) RETURNS TABLE WITH SCHEMABINDING AS RETURN ( SELECT SUBSTRING(l.listString, sn.Num + 1, CHARINDEX(',', l.listString, sn.Num + 1) - sn.Num - 1) _id FROM (SELECT ',' + LTRIM(RTRIM(@listString)) + ',' AS listString) l CROSS JOIN dbo.sequenceNumbers sn WHERE sn.Num < LEN(l.listString) AND SUBSTRING(l.listString, sn.Num, 1) = ',' )
GO
how to remove the @reportID <> 0 t-sql above and replace by calling the fn_splitString function?
I am working now on optimization of an update query for a particular table and I want to measure the number of page splits after each update. How to check it?
I am trying to split the annual cost into monthly numbers based on the contract Period.Since the contract period varies from company to company not sure how to implement the logic.
Our front end saves all IP addresses used by a customer as a comma separated string, we need to analyse these to check for blocked IPs which are all stored in another table.
A LIKE statement comparing each string with the 100 or so excluded IPs will be very expensive so I'm thinking it would be less so to split out the comma separated values into tables.
The problem we have is that we never know how many IPs could be stored against a customer, so I'm guessing a function would be the way forward but this is the point I get stuck.
I can remove the 1st IP address into a new column and produce the new list ready for the next removal, also as part of this we would need to create new columns on the fly depending on how many IPs are in the column.
This needs to be repeated for each row
SELECT IP_List , LEFT(IP_List, CHARINDEX(',', IP_List) - 1) AS IP_1 , REPLACE(IP_List, LEFT(IP_List, CHARINDEX(',', IP_List) +0), '') AS NewIPList1 FROM IpExclusionTest
I was contacted by the SAN team to test backup/restore of larger databases using a split-mirror backup (BCV) or clone that is taken from production db server and copied to another sql box. They want to use this process once a week. I see the mounted drives with the data/log files. All looks good. Initially I attempted to attach the databases and received (Unable to open the physical file db.mdf Operating System Error 5 Access is denied). I manually granting SQLServerMSSQLUser$<computer_name>$<instance_name> on all of the physical files 20 total. That worked.
Since this will be weekly, the SAN team performed the copy again and now none of the databases can communicate with the newly copied files. NTFS permissions need to be set again. I'm getting (Operating System error 21: the device is not ready). Is there something that I'm missing in this process how the vendor BCV clones the data and SQL communicates with the copied files as I was thinking it would be more automated process?
I am trying to join two tables and looks like the data is messed up. I want to split the rows into columns as there is more than one value in the row. But somehow I don't see a pattern in here to split the rows.
This how the data is
Create Table #Sample (Numbers Varchar(MAX)) Insert INTO #Sample Values('1000') Insert INTO #Sample Values ('1024 AND 1025') Insert INTO #Sample Values ('109 ,110,111') Insert INTO #Sample Values ('Old # 1033 replaced with new Invoice # 1544') Insert INTO #Sample Values ('1355 Cancelled and Invoice 1922 added') Select * from #Sample
This is what is expected...
Create Table #Result (Numbers Varchar(MAX)) Insert INTO #Result Values('1000') Insert INTO #Result Values ('1024') Insert INTO #Result Values ('1025') Insert INTO #Result Values ('109') Insert INTO #Result Values ('110')
[Code] ....
How I can implement this ? I believe if there are any numbers I need to split into two columns .
I have a string that contains series of parameters with separators.i need to split the parameters and its values as rows and columns.e.g string = "Param1 =3;param2=4,param4=testval;param6=11;..etc" here the paramerter can be anything and in any number not fixed parameters. Currently am using the below function and getting the parameters by each in select statement as mentioned below.
select [dbo].[rvlf_fn_GetParamValueWithIndex]('Param1=3;param2=4,param4=testval;param6=11;','param1=',';') as param1, [dbo].[rvlf_fn_GetParamValueWithIndex]('Param1=3;param2=4,param4=testval;param6=11;','param2=',';') as param2 CREATE FUNCTION [dbo].[rvlf_fn_GetParamValueWithIndex] ( @CustomProp varchar(max),
ID - INT Machine - TINYINT StartTime - DATETIME EndTime - DATETIME
What I am trying to do is figure out how much time is used for production per day. The problem is, there are production runs that run over midnight and possible multiple days without ending. For example, if I have the following data:
Create table DBInfo (Path varchar (500)) Insert into DBInfo values('/Data Sources') Insert into DBInfo values('/Data Sources/SALES') Insert into DBInfo values('/PRODUCTION') Insert into DBInfo values('/PRODUCTION/SERVICE') Insert into DBInfo values('/PRODUCTION/SERVICE/MAINTENANCE') Insert into DBInfo values('/PRODUCTION/SERVICE/LOGISTICS')
My Expected Output
Column1,Column2,Column3 Data SourcesNullNull Data SourcesSalesNull PRODUCTIONNullNull PRODUCTIONSERVICENull PRODUCTIONSERVICEMAINTENANCE PRODUCTIONSERVICELOGISTICS
I have the table below and like to create a view to show the no of days the property was vacant or void and rent loss per month. The below explanation will describe output required
For example we have a property (house/unit/apartment) and the tenant vacates on 06/09/2014. Lets say we fill the property back on 15/10/2014. From this we know the property was empty or void for 39 days. Now we need to calculate the rent loss. Based on the Market Rent of the property we can get this. Lets say the market rent for our property is $349/pw. So the rent loss for 39 days is 349/7*39 = $1944.43/-.
Now the tricky part and what im trying to achieve. Since the property was void or empty between 2 months, I want to know how many days the property was empty in the first month and the rent loss in that month and how many days the property was empty in the second month and the rent loss incurred in that month. Most of the properties are filled in the same month and only in few cases the property is empty between two months.
As shown below we are splitting the period 06/09/2014 - 15/10/2014 and then calculating the void days and rent loss per month
Period No of Void Days Rent Loss 06/09/2014 - 30/09/2014 24 349/7*24 = 1196.57 01/10/2014 - 15/10/2014 15 349/7*15 = 747.85
I have uploaded a screenshot of how the result on this link: [URL] ....
Declare @void Table ( PropCode VARCHAR(10) ,VoidStartDate date ,LetDate date ,Market_Rent Money
