I have question, sorry if it is very basic, as SQL is not my thing!
Iam allowing visitors on my IBS site to (lets say) create HTML post. This is enabled by allowing the user to use WYISWG text editor component. This means that users can create all sorts of HTML tags.
Before storing this HTML in the SQL Server, I encode it.
I also need to provide users with searching ability. So what is the best way in achieving this? Can I write search SQL normally, as in, with LIKE operators or do I need to something special?

Data Mining HTML Viewers Issue
Dec 14, 2007I have a decision tree model and I am trying to view the tree using the DMDecisionTreeViewer control as in this sample http://www.sqlserverdatamining.com/MovieSurveyDemo/ . I followed the instructions at this site http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms160727.aspx and set the following properties:
Server My analysis services server
Database My analysis services catalogue
Model My decision tree model name
ViewType Tree
TargetTree My decision tree's predictable attribute
When I run my application, the component does not display anything and the webpage produces two errors:
1. Syntax Error
2. 'NodeData' is undefined
Furthermore, when I run the query that is expected to give me the TargetTree property value, I get nothing as a result.
SELECT NODE_UNIQUE_NAME, ATTRIBUTE_NAME
FROM [Model].CONTENT
WHERE NODE_TYPE=2
I managed to view my decision tree using windows viewers without problems. Do you have any idea on what I have done wrong, and is the MovieSurveyDemo source code available?
Question On Data Mining Html Viewer

Small problem here. I have successfully installed the Data Mining Web Controls in my pc. I can use it to display the result that i want, the problem is the expand image and collapse image did not show out in the column, by the way I can click the blank column to expand or collapse the tree node, it function completely.
How can i display the expand image and Collapse image?
Can anyone help?

SQL Server 2014 :: Export Data Without HTML Formatting
Oct 22, 2015I need to export some Database data into a text file. My Query looks like this:
SELECT Category1, Category2, Category3
FROM dbo.tbl1
WHERE Category1 = 'JP-4'
AND Category2> 4;
This works fine to get the data, however there is some html formatting in the table entries such as
`<p>,</p>,
,</br>` etc.
So ideally I need to remove those when exporting the data to the text file. I've tried to do it with a simple replace query but that didn't work. I've also got an issue with line splits and would need to remove the ( ).
The Data format is something like this:
Category1: JP-4
Category2: 4
Category3:<p>Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor</p> <p>amet, consectetur, adipisci velit</p>
Category4:<p>Neque porro quisquam est qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor</p>
I got it to work like this with the replace function:
SELECT REPLACE(REPLACE("PHOTOGRAPHS",'<p>',''),'</p>','')
FROM dbo.khia_tbl
WHERE Category1= 'JP-4'
AND Category2> 4;
But the issue is that I've got 15 columns in total and that I need to do it for several different tags for each column so
,
</br>,
as well as "" and different spaces so that would be a lot and I thought there must be a better/more efficient way of doing it...

Data Mining Html Tree Viewer Authentication
Jul 17, 2007I am going through the data mining web control viewer tutorial and its going great. I have been able to build and setup the viewer. The problem I am having is when I publish the site out to my web server, it gives me the following error:

Error: Either the user, <domain><computerName>$, does not have access to the prospectDataMining database, or the database does not exist.
When I debug this on my local machine via Visual Studio 2005, it works GREAT! It is just when I publish the site to the web server.
I have a dedicated SSAS server along w/ a dedicated web server. To test, I published the site to the SSAS server to see if it was a connection issue. I received the same error w/ a different <domain><computerName>$.
I looked at trying to put in the optional connection info for the dataMining html tree viewer properties... but apparently dont know how to do that properly. I also checked the IIS directory security and enabled Integrated security.
What am i doing wrong? ANY help is much appreciated.

I create a function called UpdatePasswordByUserId in my dataset with the above stored procedure that returns a scalar value. When I preview the data from the table adapter in my dataset, it spits out the right value.
But when I call this UpdatepasswordByUserId from an asp.net page, it returns null/blank/0

Jul 23, 2005Greetings All, I was wondering if any of you would share some of yourexperiences regarding the task of loading a data store from an Oltpsource. We are using Analysis Services in a BI product that requiresdata to be pulled from one of our products, an OLTP database. Thedesign is to first run an ETL process from the OLTP source into anoperational data store, from here Analysis Services will pull its datato do its thing. Now, for small OLTP databases (< 1Gb) the storedprocs I have written to do the extraction works well, it is relativelyfast and efficient. However, we have a few databases that are 10Gb'sand the load could end up taking several hours. During this long loadthe OLTP source may be in use and I want to avoid write blocks, or if Iwere to use "select ... NOLOCK" I could get dirty data brought over. Icould used BCP for some of the big tables or Bulk Copy but I wanted tosee if anyone has dealt with this issue and what their specificresolution was for their specific problem. It is my hope that byseeing how others have dealt with this I will be able to architect asolution for my specific problemRegards, TFD.
