when i try to browse to http://localhost/Reports or ReportServer, a login is prompted. I don't know what to fill in there. Should it be configured somewhere?
Or should I configure the Reports and ReportServer in IIS to allow anonymous logins? - if i do this, I can see the homepage of reports, but noting is listed - if i browse to reportServer, i get the error "he permissions granted to user 'EVO610IUSR_EVO610' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)"
Can someone please urgently help me? I don't know where and to configure this login prompt.
Hi, It has been one week I am researching this issue on internet and trying everything I find. But no luck. What I am trying to do is to install SRS on SQL 2005 Enterprise Edition. The reporting services configuration tool has "All Green" check marks. When I browse either of http://localhost/Reports and http://localhost/ReportServer it prompts for password. I am logged on to domain administrator account, I have tried all users' passwords it gives 401.1 error.
I have tried accessing it from another machine or by using loopback ip or machine name; it doesnt work.
I am new at using Report Service and after successful install the SQL SERVER EXPRESS ADVANCE SP2 and configured the ReportIing Services Configuration. I try to launch the report manager by typing http://localhost/Reports I get the following error:
The report server is not responding. Verify that the report server is running and can be accessed from this computer.
I've read many forums but I couldn't resolve my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I am running IIS 7 on Window Vista Business Ed. & SQL Server Express Ed. I am not sure if this make any differences.
After deploying my report on the report Server, I try to access it on the browser which gives me the following error.
The XML page cannot be displayed Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
A name was started with an invalid character. Error processing resource 'http://localhost/reports/Pages/Folder.aspx'. Line...<%@ Page language="c#" Codebehind="Folder.aspx.cs" AutoEventWireup="false" Inherits="Microsoft.ReportingServices.UI.Folde...
I got through the installation hoops for SQLEXPRESS Reporting Services in Vista and set up the default configurations in Report Services Configuration. I can explore the default directory for "Reports" in IIS7, but I can't browse in IE. I get the "The report server is not responding. verify that the report server..." message in the browser. This is after I migrated the app per the initial http 500 error using the preferred method - %systemroot%system32inetservAPPCMD.exe migrate config "Default Web Site/Reports".
I'm running Vista Ultimate, VS2005, SQLEXPRESS SP2. I've tried running IE as admin and also I've disabled UAC from gpedit.msc - ...Windows SettingsSecurity SettingsLocal PolicySecurity Options and unchecking UAC.
I have setup SSRS 2000 and gotten it to work but I am having trouble with SSRS 2005. I can't access to reportserver anywhere on the network. The only way to get to reportserver is termserv into the server and hit it with http://localhost/reportserver The server is Windows 2003 server Standard Ed. running SQL 2005 SP2 and Sharepoint Portal Server 2007. Can somebody please help? Thank you.
I looked online and couldn't find anything to help me make this change. I want to change the default URL for reporting services to another url. Is this possible? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi. Does anybody know why I'm getting the following error when I go to http://localhost/reportserver in a browser? is there a problem with how to setup permission or Windows Vista?

http://localhost/reportserver allows me to get to the reports, but there used to be another way I did it. I thought it was http://localhost/reports, which gave me a nicer looking page and put icons that says "new" on the new reports.
Hello i created a report and i deployed it using BIDS. i can access the report from iis . but when i try to open http://localhost/reportserver, it's asking me for a username and a password that i've never specified. i tried my windows account but it doesn't work. Please take me out from this hell. I created report using VS2005 Business Intelligence Project. It builds fine. I can also see data in the design time. But when I am trying to deploy it gives me this error.

This is on a brandnew Win2003 server install with SQL Server 2005, RS 2005 and VS.NET 2005. I'm not able to log to the reportserver site to configure/publish reports. I'm logged in the system as administrator.
From IE6 I enter http://localhost/reportserver or http://localhost/reports and all I get is: Server Error in '/ReportServer' Application.

I've checked all permissions every where, I even allowed everyone full control to the entire C: drive, I uninstalled and reinstalled IIS6 (aspnet_regiis.exe) and nothing worked.
I installed ReportServer with success I think, and I'm able to deploy my Report Model in BIDS (it says "success")..
But now, when I try to go to http://localhost/ReportServer, I get the error below: The permissions granted to user 'EVO610IUSR_EVO610' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) Get Online Help
I really tried everything; I granted full permissions to the folder below for IUSR_EV0610, but it still says the same error. C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL ServerMSSQL.3Reporting ServicesReportServer
Is this not the correct solution? Any other things that I don't know?

Any help would be appreciated:
System 2003 Server IIS6 and Sql2005 enterprise all housed on Virtual Server. all housed locally.
I'm using SQL Server 2005 SP 2 with Reporting services and MS dynamic CRM 3.0. During the installation of CRM, a lot of Reports are deployed to the ReportServer. I can connect to the ReportServer over http://myserver/ReportServer, can walk through the folders and select the wanted Report, but I only get the header of the Report without the Action Icons and Data!
If I use http://myserver/Reports, the selected Reports works very well.
I am using SQL Server Reporting. All reports are deployed on REPORTING SERVER. I want to implement security roles as same as in Active directory. Currently reports are being accessed using Anonymous user setting in IIS. I have added users in SQL Server security as well as data base level. But when user accesses report following error occurs: The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized
Please reply with solution as soon as possible. I will be very thankful to you
Hi, I want to modify the layout and stuff of the main reporting page...but I'm not sure how to open it ... is there a project for it that gets installed on the server?
I've seen some video demos on the microsoft site and they had some pretty nice front ends set up. I'd like to put some actual metrics on that front page and set up some links and different layouts.
Can someone please at least point me in the right direction to do this? I'm hoping it doesn't require setting up an entirely new site from scratch.
Is there a way to connect to an MS SQL DB locally with VBScript... I have seen code blocks use the keywork localhost... does that have something to do with it?
Sorry if this have been done before, does anyone know why I cannot connect to query analyzer using localhost? If I use my computer name, it would be fine. But not localhost. I think it might be something to do with protocols or security settings??
I got a Sql Server running on my pc machine. I can access it as a localhost just fine. Its on a network and now I can't access it on other computers. When the odbc asks for the ip of the sql server is that in the normal ip format or the 9.0.1399 number that is next to the name of the server.
I am trying to deploy a project to localhost, but I get the following error. I have only one package in this project.
"Could not save the package "C:......lah.dtsx" to SQL Server "localhost".
I tried deploying other projects that I've successfully deployed before and those also fail with the same message. Am I missing something really basic here?
After creating a WebService using SQL Server 2005 HTTP Endpoints I can only browse to the wsdl file using localhost address and not via the machine name
For example http://MACHINENAME/SomeWebService?wsdl will ask for some authentication that can never be determined while
http://localhost/SomeWebService?wsdl will successfully generate the WSDL file
This happens on the actual machine and on all other machines in the domain which pretty much defeats the purpose of using Web Services to expose functionality.
Does anyone have any idea regarding
(a) what security features are at work here, (b) Where are they documented (c) How to set or use them in such a manner as to actually be able to use web services.
While investigating I have noticed that all examples conveniently use localhost and so either avoid or never address this issue.
