I have big problem now, can somebody help me?
I have a program used ASP+SQL2000 ,the connection string is :
strConnection = "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Server=BOUNwindows,1005;User ID=training;Password=training22;Database=ourtraining;"
Everything works fine, I can insert data, delete or modify.
But since we changed sql2000 server to sql 2005 express, then I can read data but can't insert data(write data into sql 2005)
I checked all permission are correct on sql 2005, program are correct, everything looks good, but only can't write data into sql2005
Hello All Just wondered if someone could help me with a bit of T-SQL, i have a application in ASP.NET/VB that allows the user to update a message board by clicking a button "update" this in turn triggers my Stored Procedure for inserting this data into a table, which works great. It inserts the data into its respective fields and also takes The Title, Line 1, Line 2 and so on and creates a XML file (Using FOR XML) which is stored in the same Table under a column call XML_Data. Which again works great. My problem now is how do i output this XML_Data to an actual XML file that is on my local machine, i.e. It be created in say C:Inetpubwwwrootxmlfiles("xml file name inserted here from another column that holds xml file name").xml Any help on this would be greatfully apreciated Thanks In Advance Neil

I need to write data returned by a stored proc to an XML file. The resultant file will then be consumed by an external application. The file has to adhere to a specific schema. Is there a way to do this through SSIS? Is .NET CLR a better option?

Hi,I'm accessing a pair of databases with ASP/ADO,and using stored procedures on the first access.The first access works OK - everything gets writtento where it's supposed to be.On attempting to write to a pair of database tablesin the second database (second access attempt),the server crashes, as does the app, and I get the following error:--------------------------------------------------------------------Server Error in '/Webfolder01' Application.Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.Exception Details: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - The pipe has been ended.)--------------------------------------------------------------------After this, I have to go into the services panel and restart SQL 2005.This doesn't happen if I use small test data sets in the first access,and I can comment out the second access attempt, and the first accessexecutes just fine with both the large and small data sets,so I'm thinking that this has something to do with synchronisation:Perhaps the second attempt is being made before the server is ready.Is there something that I need to do to make certain that SQL 2005is ready to receive data?I'm using SqlBulkCopy with both accesses, but I don't see how thatcould be a problem.--------------------------------------------------------------------[SqlException (0x80131904): A transport-level error has occurred when receiving results from the server. Dear expert, please show me some examples of how I can update an Microsoft SQL table data with an excel sheet. Meaning, when I upload an excel sheet using an ASPX page the data in the excel sheet will be transfer to a particular table in the database. Thank you in advance.
I'm trying to write data from a session into database but it won't work. Could someone help me what is wrong with this.
cobjDT = Session("cart") For each cobjDR in cobjDT.rows Dim cmdInsert2 as New SQLCommand("order_details", loConn) cmdInsert2.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure
cmdInsert2.Parameters("@Mangd").Value = Request(cobjDR("Quantity")) loConn.Open() cmdInsert2.ExecuteNonQuery() loConn.Close() next
When I execute this an error message comes

I use same character types in storedProcedure what they are in the database and when I call the SP on my page the char types are same as they are in the SP
I am wondering if there is a correlation between the size of a database and the amount of RAM required in the server. Here's what's going on:
NT4.0 SP 6a, SQL 7.0 2-800 MHz Pentium III Processors 512 MB RAM Swap Files: two, divided evenly between two partitions, min 512 per partition (dynamic) 3- 9.2 GB Drives, RAID 5
SQL Database size: 2.5 GB
The SQL administrators have a scheduled job set to dump the database every four hours, so they have 6 of these dump files per day. Seagate Backup Exec v 6.? backs up those files every evening. Of course, this is a mission-critical application.
As the NT/Hardware administrator, I was tasked to flash upgrade all the hardware that could be flashed. That happened about three weeks ago. Ever since I flashed it, getting the data dumps has been an inconsistent process. Sometimes it works, sometimes it errors out. The error message is " Lost Delayed - Write Data: The system was attempting to transfer file data from buffers to (path). The write operation failed, and only some to the data may have been written to the file."
On and off during the day, you can't even copy a small file on the server without receiving the same message.
Before I flashed the server, it was blue-screening and needing to be rebooted about once every two weeks. Since I flashed it, the server hasn't been rebooted, because it hasn't blue-screened.
The database dumps are about 2 GB. We were thinking that the way the dump process worked was that a snapshot of the data was put into memory before it was written to disk. We thought since the dump size was larger than Physical Memory + Virtual Memory, that that could be causing the error.
What do you guys think? 1. Is dumping the database first the preferred way to get a backup, or should a backup directly to tape be scheduled instead? 2. Do we have enough RAM for the database? 3. Are there special settings we should set for the RAID controller card to maximize throughput for SQL?
Thanks again. I am definitely not a SQL DBA and any information you can provide would be really helpful.
Here is the scenario: 1. The table has Three columns 1.ID, 2.Sqno, 3. Adj 2. The values for adj are (0,1,2)
Case1: The Sqno should start at '001000' for adj in (0,2) and increment by 2, i.e the next sqno would be '001002' and '001004' so on. Case2: The sqno should start at '001001' for adj in (1) and increment by 2 i.e the next sqno would be '001003' and '001005' so on.
Finally when you do order by sqno and group by ID it will be a running sqno.
I have a problem with writing BLOB data into type of 'image' field. If the data size > ~280 MByte (< 2 GB) the operation failed. It is appear on SQL Server 2000 and 2005 (MSDE and express also).
Detailes :
column type : image Server : SQL Server 2005, version - 9.0.3042 technology : OLEDB, from C++ -> CDynamicAccessor protocol for communication : TCP/IP Size of the DB : ~3 MByte.
As I see the provider read partially (~267 943 936 byte if all is 280 MB) of data from my ISequentialStream.
Error of OLEDB: DB_E_ERRORSOCCURED : 0x80040e21 [DBNETLIB][ConnectionWrite(send()).] General network error.
SQL Server error log entries : 10/05/2007 16:52:53,Server,Unknown,A fatal error occurred while reading the input stream from the network. The session will be terminated. 10/05/2007 16:52:53,Server,Unknown,Error: 4014<c/> Severity: 20<c/> State: 1.
Entries of SQL profiler : Error: 4002, Severity: 16, State: 4 The incoming tabular data stream (TDS) protocol stream is incorrect. The stream ended unexpectedly.
I used to set up the bug with contents of a ~350 MB .zip or .mdf file. Everyting is ok when the data <= ~250 MB. I had ran MS Network Monitor on the server side and not found partially transmitted frames (but I use it on first time). We try it on another machines, on another LAN with other BLOB (and the bug arised). I had try 'named pipes' protocol for communication (and the bug arised).
I will be glad if somebody maintain that how can I found the origin of the bug (tools, log options, protokol settings etc.) or I can present my simple test program (VC 2005 project) and its database (MS SQL 2005).
Hi there, i have sometimes trouble to write data to a table in a sql server expr. database.
i have a vb.net application that writes every 2 minutes data to a table. sometimes (no regulary phenomen) the error appears after some hours, sometimes after some days. then i cannot write data in the table. it seems that the database sleeps or is offline.
before i write the data i check if the connection is open and i can write data. if i cannot write the data i try several times and often after the third try i can write the data.
i have checked everything (no power save's on or other power off modes)
i have also test it with SqlClient.SqlConnection.ClearAllPools()
and many other things to find the bug, but no success at the moment.
it seems that the database or the table is away ?? or sleeps for some seconds ?!? i have no idea.
I have a daily package that extracts some data and writes it into an excel file. I want to write over the existing data, but the excel destination only appends the next free location in the worksheet. I tried using a SQL task to grab the file, set all the cells = NULL and then run the rest of the package, thinking it would see the null cells as empty and write in them, but somehow it knows where the previous data ended and keeps appending further down in the workbook.
Does anyone know of a workaround so I do not have to delete and re-create the file everytime?
I'm reading data from a flat file source. If some data gets truncated, i have the option of 'ignoring', 'redirecting' or 'fail component'.
What i'd like to do is, to allow the data to be truncated, but i'd also like to write a log entry so that i can know that a particular rows data has been truncated.
I've tried 'redirecting' the row to a script component (as transformation), but i don't know how to determine if the error is truncation or not, not only that, i can't redirect the row back to the 'original' flow, which is a derived field column.
I was wondering if it is possible to read image data from a database in .net compact framework. Since cf does not have image.fromstream(memstream) to work with, I don't know how else to read the image from the database and then place it into a picturebox.
Here is the code I have been trying out:
Dim Img As Image ' Dim conn As New SqlCeConnection("Data Source = My Documents est2.sdf")
conn.Open()
Dim sql As String = "SELECT * FROM Dater" Dim cmd As New SqlCeCommand(sql, conn) Dim reader As SqlCeDataReader = _ cmd.ExecuteReader(System.Data.CommandBehavior.CloseConnection)
While reader.Read()
TextBox1.Text = reader.Item("name") Dim b(reader.GetBytes(1, 0, Nothing, 0, Integer.MaxValue) - 1) As Byte
reader.GetBytes(1, 0, b, 0, b.Length) Dim ms As New System.IO.MemoryStream(b) Dim bmp As New Bitmap(ms) <-Error: Value does not fall within expected range Img = bmp
End While
PictureBox2.Image = Img
I get an error ,Value does not fall within expected range.
Does this mean the image was not save correctly in the database?
Hi,I have a web app, that runs fine, except for one particular section that uses a class called by an event in the code behind. The class resides as a dll in the bin folder. We had no problems during testing, when only one user was running this dll. Problems soon occurred when multiple users tried running it. Could it be a connection pool problem, with the connection being overwritten during execution? Should i edit it according to the users logon?I am really at a loss for ideas, and I don't mind admitting I am a bit out of my depth with this one!! Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
