Display HTML Codes As HTML And Not Text
Jan 15, 2008I am retrieving a field from SQL and displaying that data on a web page.
The data contains a mixture of text and html codes, like this "<b>test</b>".
But rather than displaying the word test in bold, it is displaying the entire sting as text.
How do I get it to treat the HTML as HTML?

i.e. select * from xyz where a='A' or a='B'
or is the IN a better way to go....

we ran the tests in performance analyzer,
but they were the same results....
maybe i'm smoking the stuff - but i thought the
useage of the IN causes a full table scan for each
of the items in the in clause

Web Tests Of Reports Working For Anyone?
Feb 11, 2007Has anyone been successfull in creating a Web Test with Team System to test a Reporting Services report? I can record the test just fine but I can't run the test without errors being reported. I suspect that the session state has to be parameterized but I have no clue how to do this.
Why is this so hard? Why aren't there samples for this kind of thing? I've been all over the SSRS and Team Test forums and the MSDN site and can't find anything about Reporting Services reports being tested with Team System Web Tests.

This is a code which I got from one of my co-workers who isn't anymore working here. Any help would be appreciated. Remote Connection Tests Fine, But Nothing Works On The Page Itself.
Mar 26, 2008If this post belongs somewhere else I appologize. I have spent several days trying to solve this problem with no luck. My site is online. Hosted at NeikoHosting. I can connect to the database remotely when adding a datacontrol. It tests fine. But when running the page it won't connect. Even if I go in and change the Web.Config connection string to a local Data Source provided to me by Neiko, it still won't work. It just won't connect. Here are the two connection strings in the Web.Config, minus my login info: Only the remote string will pass testing. SQL 2012 :: No Disks Were Found On Which To Perform Cluster Validation Tests

SqlDataSource Set To Stored Procedure, Tests OK In Wizard, Does Not Return Data When Executed
Apr 27, 2007With a Gridview Control, I set the SqlDataSource to be a stored procedure in a Sql Sever database.
Using the wizzard to configure the datasource, the test returns lots of rows. After completing the wizzard, the gridview control does not show the column names in the VS2005 designer. For the gridview column headers the values are Databound Col0, Databound Col1, Databound Col2, ....) This tells me I have a problem.
I tried the same thing with a simpler stored procedure. This test stored procedure does not call anything else, takes several input parameters, returns rows. The column names show in the gridview control as expected.
So I am trying to figure out why the first case of gridview with sqldatasource is not working and the second case works . The stored procedure that is not working with my gridview calls multiple inner stored procedures and has #TEMP tables. My complex stored procedure ends with Select * from #Temp.
Could the calling of other inner stored procedures and use of #temp tables contribute to the problem? If yes then what is the strategy for using a gridview and loading it with the data that the complex stored procedure returns?
SQL Server 2008 :: Linked Server Tests Fine But Query Does Not Work
Apr 16, 2015Using a 32-Bit SQL Server 2008 Express on my LOCAL PC. I downloaded the Advantage 8.1 OLE DB Provider and created a linked server to a REMOTE Advantage 8.1 database server. There is no data dictionary on the Advantage server.
Here is my linked server:

I've got a question regarding record inserts via a from (textbox, multiple lines) on a web page.
I'm using a textbox within a form to enter data for a record. When this box contains several lines and the data is inserted into the database (SQL2005 Ent.) it separates each line with a character similar to a square (probably a line break symbol or something). This is all fine for storage, but retrieving the data and displaying it on a web page, just displays one long line, not at all how I entered it in my textbox.
Is there a way to "replace" all of the line breaks with.. say.. "<br>", so that it displays more correctly? Or perhaps I need to implement a HTML-based editor on my form (I've seen them out there, but should this really be necessary?).
I'm using ASP.NET (*.asp pages) and VBScript..
Not sure if this is the right forum for this, so please move if necessary.

Dec 12, 2007I have a report which is in html format. I need to import this html into SQL. I am using DTS package to dump the table to a SQL server table.
The data in the html table is in the format

I need the data in <td x:num="1234.5678"> to be inserted into the table instead of the value between the <td> </td> tags.
The value in my SQL table should be "1234.5678" instead of "1.234"

Aug 14, 2006Main goal is to parse an Excel Worksheet and save it as a HTML table to SQL.
I have a web form (aspx) where a use is able to browse and upload an excel documnt. I then select the data from the worksheet and use a OleDBDataAdapter to build a Dataset from the Excel data. I fill the dataset with the data from the Excel document.
What I need to do from this point has me lost. I need to re-engineer the excel data into a HTML table to display within a orgianl asp code. I was planning to build the html table...save it as a large string to SQL database table. And then from asp page - read the table and re-display it.
Im not sure how to do this...anyone with experinece, please help.
Other things I have tried. After I have the excel data saved in the dataset...I can read it via Readxml and display it within the asp.net code. So, I dont knwo if it is possible to save this dataset information as HTML to a string...?

I'm not quite sure this is the right place to post this, but i'll try anyway.
I have a website where I allow people to create their own layouts in HTML, and in the HTML I have them placeing markers (eg. |1| ) where they would like to place something from a database. All the HTML is stored in a SQL Server DB, and when I pull it out, it's fine, except it won't allow me to Replace any of the markers with values from the DB.
Here's and example line of HTML that's held in the DB:<table width='50%' border='1'><tr><td>|0|</td><td>|1|</td></tr>
and when I do a strHtml.Replace("|0|", dReader["somefield"].ToString()) or even just a strHtml.Replace("|0|", "Test") it never changes it.
Anyone have any ideas?

I have question, sorry if it is very basic, as SQL is not my thing!
Iam allowing visitors on my IBS site to (lets say) create HTML post. This is enabled by allowing the user to use WYISWG text editor component. This means that users can create all sorts of HTML tags.
Before storing this HTML in the SQL Server, I encode it.
I also need to provide users with searching ability. So what is the best way in achieving this? Can I write search SQL normally, as in, with LIKE operators or do I need to something special?
