I cant view my image in my reports after deploying them where as I can view my image in the preview tab. And also I can view the image if I take printout from the deplyed reports. What could be the reason?
Can anyone help me here..??I did embedded the image(.jpg file) to my rdl file.

how can I pull up an image from the file system eansted of a table field? From the table i only get the name and the path where the image is stored and wiht that info I want to fill up the picture box of the report.

i want to display images on the Reporting services, Images resides on the same machine but we want to set the image path dynamically from dataset fields. please suggest me best possible approach. this is windows application and all the data with image path is in a single dataset.

I have a report that works fine when i deploy it in the development environment, but when i deploy the same report on the production server pointing to the same data source as the development environment; the images doesn't show up. I do see broken image X on all the images.
I searched the internet but couldn't find a solution to solve this problem. Any help on this will be appreciated.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a requirement where i have to display some data which is coming from a sub report when i click on an image. I have two problems here,
1) if i provide toggle on image text box it is displaying + symbol which i don't want
2) If i provide image properties -> action -> go to report -> it is displaying the values in a different page but my requirement is to display in the same page
Conclusion is : when i click on the image(without + symbolo) i have to display sub report values in the same page.
I have a image in SSRS which is of PNG in format. when I preview the image it is coming as expected but if IÂ export that to PDF the image is having the black color back ground. One more point to be noted here is my actual image file is having a small shading in it which is not visible properly, but the same back ground is coming with full black color line in the PDF form.
Another issue is : I have 3 sub reports in my SSRS report. In the preview I can see the data is coming in order of sub reports but if I export it to PDF the second sub-report data is coming at the end of the report and first and 3rd sub reports are fine. But If I have only one record for 2nd sub-report the order is same in both the Preview page as well as in the PDF format.
When I place an image WITHIN a chart, it appears in the correct location in DESIGN mode, however, when I preview it, my chart renders...and then the image renders NEXT TO the chart. Â I can't get the image to display WITHIN the chart area.

When the embedded DTS package fails at runtime, and logging has been enabled for the package (and all log events selected for reporting on for the package and the task), the DTS error (i.e. any meaningful errors) are not thrown up to/caught by the SSIS/outer level. All you get is something like:
COMException - error returned from a call to a COM component.
Does anyone have any comments &/or know to get errors thrown from within an embedded DTS package, thrown up to the wrapping SSIS package?

I have a table that has an image datatype column and I also have acontant type column in that same table to define which type of data isstored in that table.In this case a screen shot or may be a word document may be stored inthat table....!I am trying to use that image datatype field in my report and when theyclick some button I needed the reporting service report to open awindow based on the content type and display that image.Has anyone done this? Hi,
I wouls like to have a custom button called "Set" in the report toolbar in addition to the "View Report" button. I am aware of the fact that the look and feel of the existing controls on the toolbar can be customised or can be hidden using HtmlViewer.css. Is there any code which I can tweak to add buttons or images on the report toolbar?

I tried creating Toggle Option over a Text box to Show the Image on Click but Since the Toggle refreshes the entire report user faces performance issue. Is there any other option to avoid the Toggle Refreshing the report or to show an image on Click of an Text Box?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an SSRS report using VS2013 Premium with SSDT - BI v12.0.2430.0. SSRS is hosted on a SQL 2014 instance.The underlying database table has a varchar(max) field which stores text and embedded image data from a third-party application. I can extract this text, save it as an html file and open that in a browser. It renders complete with any embedded image.Meanwhile, the report textbox has its Placeholder Properties, Markup type set to HTML. Yet when I run the report, the text is displayed but any embedded image is not.Is there any approach I can take, perhaps transforming the varchar(max) data to another format in the query for my dataset, that can show the text and any embedded image in my report?  Or is it that the TextBox control is limited, not unreasonably, to text only? If so, is there another control I could use, perhaps custom or third-party?

I have a server report which made by ssrs 2005, I am using vs 2005 to build an aspx page and call this report which already uses dynamic query. I use parameters and send these to reportviewer with setparameter method. I dont use DataBind and Refresh method. SetParameter is enough to generate Report. When report generates everything is fine. But when i export this report to excel the pictures in this report get smaller to fit in cell height. I used rendering extensions but its same.

And i used copy contents of reportviewer and paste it to excel file. There is interesting case here. If this is the first time that i run the report and copy and paste. No image is seen in excel workseet but other report elements is fine. But if i click on refresh button on reportviewer toolbar and report regenerates, i try to copy and paste and it works fine, and if i dont close ie window copy and paste progress works good and i dont need to click on refresh button on each report to copy and paste?
This is so interesting subject, i tried lots of things for example i tried to use databind and ServerReport.Refresh methods maybe it acts like clicking on refresh button but this wasnt the same only difference is it took more time to generate the report.

In an asp.net app I'm creating email attachments from ssrs reports and am rendering them In Word and Excel using the WORDOPENXML and EXCELOPENXML format extensions. When I render the report in excel, the image is sized correctly, however, when I render the same report in word, its very small. I will attach a screenshot of each, and in the word screenshot, I will select the image so you can see the image control's outline (the control's actual size). Notice the image inside of the border is very small. How can I resolve this?

I am developing a custom application that is going to need a small database worth of information. (10MB to 100MB of information.) I was planning on using SQL Server Express following the Embedding SQL Server Express into Custom Applications white paper listed at: http://msdn.microsoft.com/sql/express/default.aspx?pull=/library/en-us/dnsse/html/emsqlexcustapp.asp
The data being stored is for internal program use only, specifically for data driven events within the application. This data needs to be able to be accessed quickly and is going to be considered confidential as it is in essence €œsource code€? for how a large portion of our program works.
Is there a way that this data can be used in the program without exposing the data to the end user? Is SQL Express the correct application for this or am I trying to force a square peg in a round hole? If this is not the correct tool does Microsoft offer another database application that would fulfill these needs?
Can we embed the SQL Server Express in the windows installer jsut like the XML files or the Ms access database?

I am getting an error when doing the above.
I create a new SSIS package, drag in an Execute DTS 2000 Package Task, select and embed a DTS package which consists only one one task (as above), and then change the source & destination details (svr + user/pwd). Then when I go to the Copy tab, I get the following error when I hit Select Objects, to view the objects which the embedded DTS package should copy:
SQL-DMO error 21776: general error.
On further inspection, none of the objects selected for copy within the atomic/original DTS package, remain selected for copy within the embedded DTS package.
I have googled to search for an answer to this one, but to no avail. Any ideas would be greatly welcomed.

I am trying to migrate my reports from SQL server 2000 reporting services 32bit to 2005 64bit. I am following the migration steps that MS specified.
Restored my Reportserver and ReportserverTempDB databases
Then I was using the configure Report services to upgrade these databases but I always end up getting the follwoing exception when I run the upgrade on the "Database Setup" configuration for 'ReportServerTempDB' database

I started my Reporting Server and if I use the Internet Explorer as a Administrator everything works fine.But if I don't open it as an admin it calls "rsAccess Denied The user [...] does not have the permission...".Problem is that I want to run it in an SAP Program with an HTML Viewer. how I can get those Permissions ?By the way somehow I'm not able to create or change roles in the Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using the 3-tiered architecture design (presentation, business laws, and data acess layers). I am stuck on how to send the image the user selects in the upload file control to the BLL and then to the DAL because the DAL does all the inserts into the database. I would like to be able to check the file type in the BLL to make sure the file being uploaded is indeed a picture. Is there a way I can send the location of the file to the BLL, check the filetype, then upload the file and have the DAL insert the image into the database? I have seen examples where people use streams to upload the file directly from their presentation layer, but I would like to keep everything seperated in the three classes if possible. I also wasn't sure what variable type the image would be in the function in the BLL that receive the image from the PL. If there are any examples or tips anyone can give me that would be appreciated.

Ok, the problem is that , i have a field called "Attach" in sql of type image, when selecting it , the field is getting data of type BYTE(). which am being unable to display them on an Image on the panel.

I'm attempting to obtain a cost effective solution for my existing customers to develop reports on their SQL 2000 Server installations using their Reporting Services 2000. With products like Visual Basic.NET 2003 becoming almost impossible to obtain, I have at least one customer who is running into a dead end.
One option possibly is the SQL Express with Advanced Services download, which has Reporting Services. My questions are as follows:
Can the report designer component of SQL Express Reporting Services be configured to connect to an external database (which would happen to be a SQL 2000 database) to establish its datasets?
Does the resultant designed report end up in an RDL file? If the customer published this report via the Reporting Services 2000 Report Manager, would the report be able to run?
Sorry for asking a question like this that I could probably answer on my own, but my customer needed this answer yesterday. I have scoured the web and microsoft sites - and posted a question on the official SQL Reporting Services cateogy ... in an attempt to answer the basic question of how to design reports for Reporting Services 2000 in the absence of Visual Basic.NET 2003 (or other .NET 2003 tools) with no success.

I am trying to learn Reporting Services using the title "MS SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services Step by Step" by Stacia Misner and Hitachi Consulting, published in 2006. I am experiencing problems with some of the exercises. I got as far as Chapter 4 when I followed directions to create a SQL statement to define a query string for a dataset. Pg 80:
select * from vProductProfitability
where year = 2003 and
MonthNumberOfYear = 1
The view vProductProfitability does not exist in the tutorial database that came with the book, rs2005sbsDW. The result of this query is the basis for the entire chapter on developing basic reports and I'm being denied a learning opportunity because the view does not exist. In short, I'm stuck.
I have tried to find somewhere at Microsoft to place this question and get some answers so I can continue thru the tutorial. To no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions?
BTW, the solution that came in the CD is also wrong because the query noted above is also in the solution.
