Insert Error: Column Name Or Number Of Supplied Values
Oct 12, 2007
In SQL 2005 I created table as
SET ANSI_NULLS ON
GO
SET QUOTED_IDENTIFIER ON
GO
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[logMsg](
[logMsgID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT FOR REPLICATION NOT NULL,
[msg] [nvarchar](256) COLLATE Latin1_General_CI_AS NOT NULL,
[AppId] [int] NULL,
CONSTRAINT [PK_logMsg] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED
(
[logMsgID] ASC
)WITH (IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF) ON [PRIMARY]
) ON [PRIMARY]
and trying to insert values with
INSERT INTO [ProxyDB].[dbo].[logMsg]
([msg]
,[AppId])
VALUES
('Text Test',1)
Getting error message:
Msg 213, Level 16, State 1, Procedure TrgInslogMsg, Line 14
Insert Error: Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition.
Is there a way to avoid entering column names in the excel template for me to create an excel file froma dynamic excel using openrowset. I have teh following code but it works fien when column names are given ahead of time. If I remove the column names from the template and just to Select * from the table and Select * from sheet1 then it tells me that column names donot match. Server: Msg 213, Level 16, State 5, Line 1Insert Error: Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition. here is my code... SET @sql1='select * from table1'SET @sql2='select * from table2' IF @File_Name = '' Select @fn = 'C:Test1.xls' ELSE Select @fn = 'C:' + @File_Name + '.xls' -- FileCopy command string formation SELECT @Cmd = 'Copy C:TestTemplate1.xls ' + @fn -- FielCopy command execution through Shell Command EXEC MASTER..XP_CMDSHELL @cmd, NO_OUTPUT -- Mentioning the OLEDB Rpovider and excel destination filename set @provider = 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' set @ExcelString = 'Excel 8.0;HDR=yes;Database=' + @fn exec('insert into OPENrowset(''' + @provider + ''',''' + @ExcelString + ''',''SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]'') '+ @sql1 + '') exec('insert into OPENrowset(''' + @provider + ''',''' + @ExcelString + ''',''SELECT * FROM [Sheet2$]'') '+ @sql2 + ' ')
I have a table names Alert_Event and a new column named BSP_Phone has been added to the table. I am trying to set NULL values to the column and I get the below error. I am setting null values in the bolded text in the query.
Error Message:

Table2 has three columns (i.e. Date, Count and Rule Type). Column “Rule Type “has a default value which is “XYZ”..Now I want to insert Data from Table1 to Table2. I am using following query:-
Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition.I am using SQL 2012. I understand Table1 has 2 Columns but Table2 has 3 Columns. Is there anyway, I can move data from source table to Destination table where Destination Table has more number of Columns?
The SP UserPersist_GetByCriteria does a "SELECT * FROM tbl_User WHERE gender = @Gender AND culture = @Culture", so why am I receiving this error when both tables have the same structure?
The error is being reported as coming from UserPersist_GetByCriteria on the "SELECT * FROM tbl_User" line.
I have a table in which a non-primary key column has a unique index on it. If I am inserting a record into this table with a duplicate column value for the indexed column, then what will be the error number of the error in above scenario? OR How could I find this out?
I hope someone can help me out here. I'm quite new to RS so perhaps this is just me not knowing something obvious.
I have a report with several parameters, most of which have values the user can select from a list, supplied by a query. Some of these lists are filtered depending on the value of other parameters. (Eg One list has all customers, one list has all orders. If I select a customer, the order list changes to only contain orders for the selected customer.) Some of the parameters are just float or date values that do not rely on any other parameters being selected first (eg OrderDate). Some parameters have default values and some do not.
When I first go into the report in Report Manager it is fine and does not automatically render - as not all parameters have values supplied.
The problem is that as soon as I select a parameter value from the list when that value is part of the query for another parameters values, the report renders automatically - without some of the other parameters being supplied yet - and consequently errors with the rsReportParameterTypeMismatch error. (Eg I select a customer and the report renders before I can enter the OrderDate parameter.)
How can I stop the report automatically rendering before I have entered/selected values for all the parameters?
I try to import data with bulk insert. Here is my table:
CREATE TABLE [data].[example]( col1 [varchar](10) NOT NULL, col2 [datetime] NOT NULL, col3 [date] NOT NULL, col4 [varchar](6) NOT NULL, col5 [varchar](3) NOT NULL,
The first column should store double (in col2 and col3) in my table
My file: Col1,Col2,Col3,Col4,Col5,Col6,Col7 2015-04-30@|@MDDS@|@ADP@|@EUR@|@185.630624@|@2015-04-30@|@MDDS 2015-04-30@|@MDDS@|@AED@|@EUR@|@4.107276@|@2015-04-30@|@MDDS
My command: bulk insert data.example from 'R:epoolexample.csv' WITH(FORMATFILE = 'R:cfgexample.fmt' , FIRSTROW = 2)
Get error: Msg 4823, Level 16, State 1, Line 2 Cannot bulk load. Invalid column number in the format file "R:cfgexample.fmt".
I changed some things as: used ";" and "," as column delimiter changed file type from UNIX to DOS and adjusted the format file with " " for row delimiter
Removed this line from format file 1 SQLCHAR 0 10 "@|@" 2 Col2 "" Nothing works ....
declare @NumberToCompareTo int set @NumberToCompareTo = 8 declare @table table ( number int ) insert into @table select 4
[Code] ....
The query selects 4 and 5 of course. Now what I'm looking for is to retrieve the number less or equal to @NumberToCompareTo, I mean the most immediate less number than the parameter. So in this case 5
I have a table with PO#,Days_to_travel, and Days_warehouse fields. I take the distinct Days_in_warehouse values in the table and insert them into a temp table. I want a script that will insert all of the values in the Days_in_warehouse field from the temp table into the Days_in_warehouse_batch row in table 1 by PO# duplicating the PO records until all of the POs have a record per distinct value.
Example:
Temp table: (Contains only one field with all distinct values in table 1) Days_in_warehouse 20 30 40

I have such a problem. Need to add additional column to my query. The column should consist of set of fixed number (same as number of query rows) values (text). At start thought it's simple but now Im lost. Is there any chance to do it. Apreciate any help. I need to tell that I have only access to select on this database so no use of operation on tables.
Using c# in the compact framework, is there a way to do a parameterized query for counting the number of records where a specified column is null. I tried all of these, but none of them work:
cmd.Add(new SqlCeParameter("@IntColumn", SqlInt32.Null)); cmd.CommandText = "select count(*) from TableName where IntColumn is not @IntColumn";
cmd.CommandText = "select count(*) from TableName where not IntColumn = @IntColumn";
cmd.Parameters.Add(new SqlCeParameter("@IntColumn", SqlDbType.Int32)); cmd.Parameters["@IntColumn"].Value = SqlInt32.Null; cmdGetNumRead.CommandText = "select count(*) from TableName where IntColumn is not @IntColumn";
Can anyone assist me with a script that adds a new column to a table then inserts new values into the new column based on the Table below. i have included an explanation of what the script should do.

I have 2 tables in a database. Table 1 is Parts and Table 2 is MiniParts. I need a script that adds a new column in the MiniParts table. and then populate the new column (NewMinipartsCL) based on Values that exist in the PartsNum column in the Parts Table, and MiniPartsCL column in the MiniParts columns.
The new column is NewMiniPartsCL. The table above shows the values that the new column (NewMiniPartsCL) should contain.
For Example Anytime you have "1" in the PartsNum column of the Parts Table and the MiniPartsCL column of the MiniParts Table has a "K" , the NewMiniPartsCL column in the MiniParts Table should be populated with "DK" ( as shown in the table above).
Anytime you have "1" in the PartsNum column of the Parts Table and the MiniPartsCL column of the MiniParts Table has a "K" , the NewMiniPartsCL column in the MiniParts Table should be populated with "K" ( as shown in the table above). etc..
I would like to set up cascading report parameters but need to supply the list of values in my dataset query as they are not being pulled from a table or stored procedure.
I would like to set up something like
select 'LS' Source Union select 'RH' Source Union select 'UK' Source
as the value list for my first parameter, then, I would like the second parameter to default to '1' if the first parameter has 'RH' or 'UK' selected but default to blank if the first parameter has 'LS' selected. I can get all to default to blank or 1 but can not seem to make it dependent.
I have a form with a few panels on it, and the visibility of the panels is determined by a radiobutton selection. Once a user selects a radio button item, the appropriate panels visibility changes to true. On two of the panels, there is a drop down list with a list of clients, and the dropdownlists are named Client1 and Client2 (Client 1 is included in panel 1 and client 2 is in panel 2) How do I insert the values for client1 or client2 (depending upon which is visible) into the same sql column via a stored procedure? The database field is called client. How do I get the value from my vb.net form into the stored procedure?
The structure is same but S(SNAME) does not contain data. If I use the following command of SQL then It appends the rows in table. I want that the values should be inserted from TOP to BOTTOM.
I am try to build a Stored procedure to insert into a table whose name is contain in variable @tname, other field are just variable to supply value to table fields,i have implement simple type of SP for "SELECT" AND "CREATE" ,but this procedure does not work, please help me

However the issue is with [1],[2],[3] columns. Those are the number of days of the month. If today is the 3rd day of the month, we only need to show 3 days. So the final table has column [1],[2],[3] and @AccountType and @Total .
We want to run this query everyday to get the moth to date values. If we run this tomorrow, it will have 4 date columns [1], [2],[3],[4] and @AccountType and @Total .
I am trying to create a form, and then insert the values entered by a user into a sql database, I have enclosed the page code below. Everything works except the data is not being inserted into the database, and i keep getting the default message in my error message section. I took this right from the quick start tutorial and started working with it, and keep getting an error.
I believe the error is located in the INSERT statement

We have SharePoint list which has, say, two columns. Column A and Column B.
Column A can have three values - red, blue & green.
Column B can have four values - pen, marker, pencil & highlighter.
A typical view of list can be:
Column A - Column B red - pen red - pencil red - highlighter blue - marker blue - pencil green - pen green - highlighter red - pen blue - pencil blue - highlighter blue - pencil
We are looking to create a report from SharePoint List using SSRS which has following view:
red blue green pen 2 0 1 marker 0 1 0 pencil 1 3 0 highlighter 1 1 1
We tried Sum but not able to display in single row.
I have an SSIS package that imports data from an Excel file, replaces any value in Excel that reads "NULL" to "", then writes the data to a couple of databases.
What I have discovered today, is I have two columns of dates, an admit date and discharge date column, and what I need to do is anywhere I have a null value in the discharge date column, I have to replace it with the value in the admit date column.
I have searched around online and tried a few things using the Replace funtion in Derived columns but no dice so far.
How to insert a row number for a zone wise(ie group by zone column) in ssrs report in zone column i should get zone1 only once (should not get Zone1,zone1, zone1 -3 times)

How to count the number of values that exist in a row based on the values from an array of numbers. Basically the the array of numbers I want to look for are in row 1 of table [test 1] and I want to search for them and count the "out of" in table [test 2]. Excuse me for not using the easiest way to convey my question below. I guess in short I have 10 numbers and like to find how many of those numbers exist in each row. short example:
