I have 2 fields being passed from a web form to the below stored procedure

The below DELETE function is working great. However for some reason or another the INSERT INTO sql command is not putting seperating the string and adding rows to the database? I am not sure where the error is occuring.

I have one one XLS File i need to import data in 2 diffrent SQL SERVER 2005. For e.g One Master Table X and Child Table Y. X Table columns mastertabid, col1,col2,col3, etc etc..master table columns are fix.
and Child table columns childtabid,mastertabid,childcol1,childcol2,childcol3,childcol4, etc. etc.. Child table columns are not fix it may be 5,10,15 or 20...
Now, at the time of importing XLS file i need to insert data in both table. most importing thing is i need to add data in child table with reference of mastertabid..i have to add this column value.
I can do it with business logic, i can do it but it makes my page slow...and i dont want to do that...
how can i do that, plz. guide me....

Now I created a user-defined Collection class to storage order detail data in memory
and bind to a datagrid control.
I can transfer Collection data to xml file ,my problem as below :
There have multiple records data in my xml file,and I want to send the xml file as argument to a store procedure in sql 2000
anyone can give me some advise or some sample code ?

I've been working as web dev for quite sometime now but there are still few things that i would like to clarify. Hope you guys can shed lights.
I currently have several tables and all this tables are having some 1 to many relationships. I know that how i insert value into my tables are very inefficient. I do it in this manner..
-> Insert a value in TableA
-> Query the latest ID that i have inserted in Table A then
-> Insert this value in TableB. And so on and so forth.
I believe there is an efficient way to to do this but i'm not sure how? Could anyone shed me a light on this matter?

Insert Items From One To Table To Multiple Smaller Tables
Nov 15, 2004I have a table that I filled with data imported from another database.
What I need to do is now take this huge table and break apart the information and put it into 5 smaller tables.
So I have a huge insert statement.
I have one main table called Property with two keys. One key is a "Prop_ID" and the other is "owner" where Prop_Id is a automated unique ID. Once the information is inserted into that table, I then get the Unique ID that it was given, and I then used that ID to insert into the other tables.
The problem I am encountering is I keep getting the following error
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_Prop_Res_Detail'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'Prop_Res_Detail'.
The statement has been terminated.
I have an idea what might be going wrong, but I am not sure. What I want to happen is that I want the query to look at the first row of the huge table and then do all 4 of the inserts, and then go to the next row. But I think it is trying to all the inserts into the property table, and then go on to the Prop_Res_Detail table and that is why I am getting that error.
Any help is greatly appreicated.

I have data that i am getting through a dbf file. and i am dumping that data to a sql server... and then taking the data from the sql server after scrubing it i put it into the production database.. right my stored procedure handles a single plan only... but now there may be two or more plans together in the same sql server database which i need to scrub and then update that particular plan already exists or inserts if they dont...

Insert Multiple Rows To Table Based On Values From Other 2 Tables.
Nov 21, 2007I have a form to assign JOB SITES to previously created PROJECT. The JOB SITES appear in the DataList as it varies based on customer. It can be 3 to 50 JOB SITES per PROJECT.
I have "PROJECT" table with all necessary fields for project information and "JOBSITES" table for job sites. I also created a new table called "PROJECTSITES" which has only 2 columns: "ProjectId" and "SiteId".
What I am trying to do is to insert multiple rows into that "PROJECTSITES" table based on which checkbox was checked. The checkbox is located next to each site and I want to be able to select only the ones I need. Btw the Datalist is located inside of a formview and has it's own datasource which already distincts which JOBSITES to display.
Sample:
ProjectId - SiteId
1 - 5
1 - 9
1 - 16
1 - 18
1 - 20
1 - 27
1 - 31
ProjectId stays the same, only values for SiteId are being different.
I hope I explaining it right. Do I have to use some sort of loop to go through the automatically populated DataList records and how do I make a multiple inserts to database table? We use SQL Server 2005 and VB for code behind. Please ask if I missed on some information. Thank you in advance.

But I get the error:
Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_Users'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.Users'.
But I am using the max User_id + 1, so it can't be duplicate
This would insert about 20 records.
Why the error?

Hello Guys,
I am working in one company and currently I am assigned to new project for Data Migration from company X to our company Y using SSIS. I am totally new and i just completed 5 tutorial which was gien on MSDN website.
Basically client is going to send us first flat file with 1 million records with Header, Detail and Trailer records.
I want to create a Package in such a way that it dumps all this first load into 7 to 8 different tables at a time.
we also have to include functionlity for validation and error check.
On successfull load error file should only return Header and Trailer but no detail records.
If there are any errors then error file should contain Header, Detail records which were unable to load plus trailer which we have to sent back to client.
When 2nd file comes that time we have to check whether this is new records or change (update) one depending on Flag which tells it.
This is basically high level idea of my Package what i need to create. If u guys have any question then let me know.
I know you guys are very experienced one. Anyone of you please give me some detail idea on it I would really appricate it.
I have very limited time line for it.

SQL Server 2012 :: Insert Multiple Rows In A Table With A Single Select Statement?
Feb 12, 2014I have created a trigger that is set off every time a new item has been added to TableA.The trigger then inserts 4 rows into TableB that contains two columns (item, task type).
Each row will have the same item, but with a different task type.ie.
TableA.item, 'Planning'
TableA.item, 'Design'
TableA.item, 'Program'
TableA.item, 'Production'
How can I do this with tSQL using a single select statement?

I am building a survey application.
I have 8 questions.
Textbox - Call reference
Dropdownmenu - choose Support method
Radio button lists - Customer satisfaction questions 1-5
Multiline textbox - other comments.
I want to insert textbox, dropdown menu into a db table, then insert each question score into a score column with each question having an ID.
I envisage to do this I will need an insert query for the textbox and dropdownlist and then an insert for each question based on ID and score.
Please help me!

Feb 15, 2008I need to be able to bulk insert a bunch of tables from their corresponding flat file. I have created an XML file (see below) which has the file name/table name pair at each node. I then created a ForEachLoop task and used the Node enumeration type and the following OuterXpathString: ReferenceFiles/File. At this point I get lost. How do I pass the 2 inside node values (file name and table name) to variables which I can then use as expressions for the bulk insert task inside the Foreach?

Apr 30, 2015table2 is intially populated (basically this will serve as historical table for view); temptable and table2 will are similar except that table2 has two extra columns which are insertdt and updatedt
process:
1. get data from an existing view and insert in temptable
2. truncate/delete contents of table1
3. insert data in table1 by comparing temptable vs table2 (values that exists in temptable but not in table2 will be inserted)
4. insert data in table2 which are not yet present (comparing ID in t2 and temptable)
5. UPDATE table2 whose field/column VALUE is not equal with temptable. (meaning UNMATCHED VALUE)
* for #5 if a value from table2 (historical table) has changed compared to temptable (new result of view) this must be updated as well as the updateddt field value.

Strange Problem: SQL Insert Statement Does Not Insert All The Fields Into Table From Asp.net C# Webpage
Apr 21, 2008An insert statement was not inserting all the data into a table. Found it very strange as the other fields in the row were inserted. I ran SQL profiler and found that sql statement had all the fields in the insert statement but some of the fields were not inserted. Below is the sql statement which is created dyanmically by a asp.net C# class. The columns which are not inserted are 'totaltax' and 'totalamount' ...while the 'shipto_name' etc...were inserted.there were not errors thrown. The sql from the code cannot be shown here as it is dynamically built referencing C# class files.It works fine on another test database which uses the same dlls.
