Inserting With XML Files - VERY URGENT!!!

Hello everybody,
I have a problem. I need to insert an unknown number of xml files in a database (all files are always in the same folder), in different tables, each file has the same name that the corresponding table. For example:
Files Tables
user.xml user
purchase.xml purchase
...and so
but the number of files is not always the same, I mean, it can be 6 one day and only 4 the next day.
Can I insert the data in the xml files into the tables with a Foreach Loop Container or any other way?? If it's possible, how?

varchar variable. Then this would leave the image in the original form, viewable by whatever
could view it normally without conversion. How would this be done.
Or if you do a WRITETEXT table.photo @ptrval 'd:empphoto24.jpg' where the path is the path
to the image? Does this save the image or just the english word that represent the link?

I am currently trying to import CSV files into a sql database table. While I have managed to get the majority of the import to work, some of the records are failing to import due validation errors. What I would like to know is, is it possible to separate out the records that failed to import from the CSV file? The CSV file is quite large so I am unable to locate these records by hand. Thanks

Help!!
I need to store a few thousand images in a sql server database.
I've managed to write the asp code to retrieve images that are already in the pubs database, but haven't been able to find a satisfactory way of inserting new pictures in the first place.
At the moment we're using Notes and its great 'cos you just cut and paste them in. But now we need to take them all out and put them into sql server it's proving to be a nightmare. Any clues anyone??

I'm working with SQL Server 2005 Standard edition.
I have a Java program that loads PDF files into the database. I have a table called T08_entity which, among others, has two IMAGE columns. The first Image column is for the original PDF file. The second one is for the PDF file with modified permissions (printing, saving, etc). This is made using the i-text library.
The programs looks for the content of a disk folder, reads the contents of the folder, and inserts, one by one, the pdf files (besides other fields, like the name of the file, and ID, etc... but these are varchar or int fields. No problem with these.
When the folder has only small files (smaller that 7-8 mb), it loads them without any problem into the database. But when the folder has bigger files (>10mb, more or less...) I get an OUT OF MEMORY error.
I'm using the latest sqljdbc.jar driver (v1.2.2727). My server computer has only 1GB of RAM... but I've read that this latest driver can load big amounts of binary data using the connection property "responseBuffering=adaptive".
Here is a sample of my code (at least the most relevant lines):

Well, as I said, when I run the program, when it reads smaller files, there's no problem. But when it gets a big file, I get the OUT OF MEMORY error. I have another application that reads pdf files ONE AT A TIME, using a code very much like this one, and it reads big files (>30mb) with no problems. The problems is with this one.
Any help will be appreciated. If you have any question to clarify the problem, just tell me.

In SSIS it is very easy to import any kind of file using the Import/Export Wizard but programming in SSIS package to do the same thing is almost impossible. It can even be done by using OPENROWSET in SQL management studio but then there are problems with Excel data types and etc..
I have done my research and so far I couldnt figure it out, I know poeple have done it but I am new to SSIS and I need clearer instructions. This is my situation..
I have created a package that checks an then creates a database and then creates a table based on the Excel/csv/sdf/dbf etc file. (The structure is captured in another database using a front end app). I am stuck at importing the file into the table that I just created. I cannot use the design time tools as the files coming in will be in different formats and structures. I have found different examples of desinging the package programatically but I dont know how to:
1. Convert C# to VB. Net (Actually Im looking for the example of the code in VB.net rather than converting it)
2. Add the code in my design (Most of the code that I have seen looks like they are creating the package from scratch).

Hi, I have a table in which I will insert several redundant data. Don't ask why, is Integration services, it only reads data and inserts it in a SQL table. THis way, I have a SQL table with several lines repeating them selves. What I want to do is create a procedure that reads the distinct data and inserts it in another table, but my problem is that I am not able to select data line by line on the original table to save it in local variables and insert it on the another table, I just can select the last line. We use windows NT authentication. We did not do any change on NT. The SQL Server daily schedule job usally stoped at 10:00AM, but today from the Window NT Task Manager, we can see that the SQL Server is still running untill now.

hi, I have settup up sql mail and did the following:
1. created an E-mail account and configured Out look by creating a pop3 mail profile. tested it by sending and receiving mail, that is ook
2. I Created one domain account for MSsqlserver and Sql Agent service. both services use same account and start automatically in the control panel-services
3. I used the profile that I created in outlook to test the sql mail but got an error:
Error 22030 : A MAPI error ( error number:273) occurred: MapiLogon Ex Failed due to MAPI
Error 273: MAPI Logon Failed
I really do not know what went wrong. I followed the steps from bol and still having a problem. Am I missing something.
I do have a valid email account
I do have a valid domain account
I tested outlook using the email account and it worked. so why sql server does not recognise MAPI.
My next question, How to configure MAPI in Sql server if what I did was wrong.

Hi, I have 2 windows 2000 server in cluster with sql server 2000 enterprise edition installed.
I have activated the Server-Requested Encryption by using the sql server network utility (Force Protocol Encryption). After this, I have stoped sql server service. But I can't start it at this moment.
The error is:
19015: The encrypton is required but no available certificat has been found.
Please help me to start sql server.

I am facing a huge problem in my sql server database using access as a front end.The main problem is trying to execute queries "views" ,since they reside on sql server now,and using variables or parameters in reports and forms to filter on this query.

I proposed on a new server that we separate Data Files, Log Files, tempDB, Backups, etc. onto separate LUNS on a SAN with High Speed Solid State Drives.I was told that with the new technology with solid state SAN's that it would decrease performance and that it did not work the same way as it did when you had RAID 5's etc.I thought that if things were cared out correctly by a SAN Administrator they would know how to configure for optimal performance.

In the first step of my SSIS package I need to get files from FTP and dump it/them in a local directory, but it's more than that, the logic is like this:
1. If no file(s) found, stop executing and send email saying no file(s) found;
2. If file(s) found, then compare it/them with existing files in our archive folder; if file(s) already exist in archive folder, stop executing and send email saying file(s) already existed, if file(s) not in archive folder yet, then transfer it/them to the local directory for processing.
I know i have to use a script task to do this and i did some research and found examples for each of the above 2 steps and not both combined, so that's why I need some help here to get the logic incorporated right.

I have the need to delete old backup files via TSQL job. Found this solution online:

It works remotely if I run it via command prompt. But when I add this to a TSQL job on my remote SQL instance, it runs without deleting anything. What I'm missing?

I am wanting to reduce the amount of Virtual Log Files I have. In reading through the Online Book Documentation, I realize that I have forgotten to move the Transaction Log Files to a different drive. Now that the server is in production, I wanted to get some input about the best way of making this change.
Can I just change the directory the log files are being written to in the DB properties without having any adverse problems occurring?

I'm using replication with two database on SQL 2000,when begin, the log files size is 50mb and the data files size is 150mb. But now the log files size is 2Gb and the data files size is 4Gb. I would like to decrease the log files and the data files ??? How do i do this???

I need to write codes to access many image files and wave files and display them on the webpage. Both of these files are stored on the server (as many experts in this forum adviced) and their locations are in the SQL server database. About the wav files, I think I will have to convert them to MP3 first for fast delivery on internet. Since I am a newbie, any help would be appreciated.

I have a problem with bcp and format files.We changed our databases from varchar to nvarchar to support unicode. Noproblems so fare with that. It is working fine.But now I need a format file for the customer table and and it is notworking. It is working fine with the old DB with varchar, but withnvarchar I'm not able to copy the data. Hi All,
Are there any MDS Descriptor Files associated with Databases Files? Are these associated with transaction logs? As per my information there are .mdf , .ndf and .ldf files.Could anyone please guide me ASAP,as there is an urgent requirement from one of the clients?

I'm using script task to rename files inside foreach loop files,code like shown below
Dim file As New System.IO.FileInfo(CStr(Dts.Variables("User::FileName").Value))
dim newname as string = Split(file.Name, "_")(0) & ".jpg"
Dts.Variables("User::outputname").Value = file.DirectoryName & "" & newname
Then,i use ftp task to send files,but prompt "the variables User::outputname doesn't contains file path(s)"
I tried to use file system task to perform that,but failed either
Rename file operation in file system only can rename a file in a specified location,who can help me?

Hi gurus,
I've created a linked server (and set up the corresponding schema.ini file) in order to perform bulk-inserts from some CSV text files into SQL tables (from my standpoint the text files are just for reading purposes). The linked server works fine (I can select the data in the files without a problem).
Now the question: is possible to automatically detect when one or more of those files change in order to start the import process automatically? Something like having a trigger created on the CSV files Or there's no easy way to do that so I have, to say something, to create a Job that periodically checks if the files have changed programatically (say, recording each file's timestamp everytime is imported and comparing the recorded value with the current one, or whatever)?
