Apr 7, 2008

I'm trying to integrate office accounting 2008 express w/outlook 2003 w/BCM. I'm able to add items created in accounting to a BCM opportunity, but cannot convert an opportunity into... (I don't know what, the button is ghosted out) Oultook or BCM doesn't see customers added in accounting. I have no problem establishing a connection from BCM, with the above results. In accounting, the wizard cannot see theany BCM databases, nor will it accept data entry. Any help?

Email Report In Outlook 2007 Not The Same As Outlook 2003

Feb 7, 2007

I have a Reporting Services 2005 report that is emailed to users.  I created/formatted  the report based on how it looked in Outlook 2003 which all of our users had at that time.  The report is wide, but just fit in the email window when it was full size.   Now I have a user who has been converted to Outlook 2007 and he emailed me a copy of the report he received in Outlook 2007 and it looks like it reduced the column sizes; it does not fill the entire email window and wraps the wording on most lines because the column sizes have been reduced.

The report is:

Include Report is checked

Render Format is Web archive

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Agent Mail / Outlook 2003 Catch 22

Jan 30, 2006

I've just installed and configured outlook 2003 with sql agent mail and I've come across a strange conundrum: messages from agent mail are not actually sent unless the outlook client is open, but the default mail folder is locked by agent when agent is started, thus preventing outlook 2003 from opening. If I try things the other way - opening the client and then configuring/restarting agent mail - then agent mail can't access the default mail folder because the client has it locked.

There doesn't seem to be any way to win here.

Anyone come across this issue and found a workaround?

Outlook 2003 Filter SQL Tab To Compare The Values Of Two Fields In A Given Contact.

Sep 28, 2007

Hello and Thank You in advance:

I would like to Use the SQL Tab in the Filter Selection of the View-Modify Current View Option in Outlook 2003.
I am specifically trying to create a statement that only displays those Contacts that have a Modified Date that is different than the Created date. In other words I want to view all the records that have been modified at any time after the date of their creation.

I have been unable to create a SQL statement that compares the Created and Modified fields in the Contacts. Would you please explain and show what the correct syntax is in order to compare the values of two fields within a given Contact?

These are all examples of what I have tried and that have not worked. I cannot find documentation for this anywhere only small articles here and there that are not enough for me to develop a complete answer from:

(("urnchemas:calendar:created" >= '1/1/2001 12:00 AM' AND
"urnchemas:calendar:created" <= '12/31/2001 12:00 AM')
AND ("urnchemas:calendar:created" <> "urnchemas:calendar:lastmodified" ))
("urnchemas:calendar:created" <> "urnchemas:calendar:lastmodified" )

(("urnchemas:calendar:created" >= '1/1/2001 12:00 AM' AND
"urnchemas:calendar:created" <= '12/31/2001 12:00 AM') AND
("DAV:getlastmodified" >= '1/1/2001 12:00 AM' AND
"DAV:getlastmodified" <= '12/31/2007 12:00 AM'))

("urnchemas:calendar:created" <> "DAV:getlastmodified")

Reporting Services On SQL Express Integrating With ASP.NET

Mar 9, 2007

We are trying to make use of reporting services in our web application. We have however run into some problems.

The SQL Server Express 2005 edition is not installed on the development web server. When we try to access a report throught the ReportViewer we get an Access Denied message? After reading up a bit we have created a class which implements the IReportServerConnection interface. This however lead to a new problem which we have as of yet not found a solution for in that it causes a new error. "Custom Security Extensions is not Supported in the Edition of Reporting Services". Does any one have a solution/workaround for this problem.

Thanks

Unable To Instal SQL Express For BCM In Outlook 2007

Nov 17, 2006

I'm trying to install BCM into Outlook 2007. I'm able to get the Office
package working and updated to TR2. However when it starts the install of
BCM the first step is to install SQL Express. I get two error messages indicating
failure to install and it refers me to the SQL log. Here's a copy of the
most recent SQL install log. I've removed and reinstalled everything many times but the
same error message persists on install of BCM. I've also tried to directly install SQL Express and get the same error. Any ideas???? Thanks,
Rusty.

Install Issue For Business Contact Manager For Outlook 2007 And SQL Express

Jul 11, 2007

Hi,

We try to install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007 and get installation failed without any error. It simply refers to the log file. I have posted below the last 40 lines of this huge log file. The information in there are not vary help full since it refers to error codes that nobody seem to be able to explain. Now this is happening on 3 brand new dell computers running XP Pro. I would be happy for any assistance to either explain the error coded (if any MS guy is monitoring this) or maybe someone had a similar problem and could let me know some options on what I could try to get this resolved and my program installed.

Thank you all very much for assisting me.

Problem With Windows Server 2008 And SQL 2008 Express

Feb 25, 2008

Hello!
Recently, I set up server with Windows Web Server 2008 RC1, SQL 2008 Express beta, .NET 3.5, IIS 7.
I'm running ASP.NET web application with SQL database. Everything works fine until the first application state on the server expires. After that, any postback that starts a new application state on the server and connects to the database, results in the following error:
Failed to generate a user instance of SQL Server due to a failure in starting the process for the user instance. The connection will be closed.
Is this a bug that will be fixed in release of Windows / SQL or am I doing something wrong?
Many thanks for help,
Jan

How To Install SQL Server 2005 Express Downloaded With VS 2008 Express

May 7, 2008

Downloading and installing VS 2008 Express also created a Miscrosoft SQL Server folder.  How do I install the SQL Server 2005 Express?The following is what I found from the HELP menu bar of the VS 2008 Express.  Where can I find the sqlexpr.exe?
TIA,Jeffrey

To install SQL Server Express To begin installation, double-click sqlexpr.exe. Note: SQL Server Express is available as a self-extracting executable file (sqlexpr.exe) from both the Visual Studio 2005 CD and the SQL Server Express Web site. SQLEXPR.EXE installs on x86-based computers and to the 32-bit subsystem (WOW64). For more information, see Hardware and Software Requirements (SQL Server Express)

Anyone Know Where I Can Download A Express 2003?

Hello,

My backup copy of SQL Server Express 2003 has been corrupted, and I can't find anywhere to download the older version.

I can't move to 2005, as the requirements say that I need to have .Net Framework of 2.0 or above, but - I'm working with an older system that uses 1.1

So - if someone could point me to a location that I could download this, I'd really appreciate it.

Differences Between XP And 2003 When Installing SQL Express

Apr 30, 2008

Hello, I'll start by saying that I don't know the first thing about SQL.
I have product that I am trying to setup on a windows 2003 R2 SP2 server that requires SQL Server Express 2005. I have this same setup installed under Windows XP Pro SP2 and it works fine.

The product uses a PHP script to talk to the SQL Server to create the orginal DB but I get the following errors:
*******************************************************************************************************************************************

I have enabled the running of PHP scripts under IIS in Windows 2003 R2 (along with all of the other listed web executables). But I am stuck. For some reason the PHP scripts seem to either not have permission to talk to the DB, or Windows has some extra security in it that I need to know how to work correctly with.

I also am checking my ODBC > System DSN
when I try to craete my datasource, I get:

FYI I have set TCP/IP properties for SQL under Protocol > General > Enable - YES.

Thanks for any assistance.

SQL 2005 Express And Access 2003 SP2 Adp. Please Help

Mar 22, 2007

Hi all,

I have SQL Server 2005 Express running and I am creating a database through access (Access 2003 SP2) and no problem it creates the database...

But when I try to create other objects like views and database diagrams, I get the message below which is quite detailed but I just don't know where to get the service packs or updates needed to have this problem solved. Can anyone point out what the problem and the fixes are?

Here is the message that I get:

"This version of MS Office Access doesn't support design changes with the version of MS SQL Server
your access project is connected to. See MS Office Update Website for the latest information and
downloads (on the Help menu, click Office on the Web). YOur design changes will not be saved.

You have connected to a version of SQL server later than SQL Server 2000. This version of Visual Studio
or Access that you are using was released before teh version of SQL Server to which you are connected.
For this reason you might encounter problems.

Please check with MS to see if there is a service pack that you should apply to Visual Studio or Office
in order to get support for the version of SQL Server to which you are connected.

You can continue but any new object types might not be enumerated, and it will not be possible to
save any objects or database diagrams thatyou create using the Visual Database Tools."

SQL Server Express And Access 2003

Apr 7, 2006

I recently started developing a new Access project for a client, and decided to try out Access 2003 with SQL Express 2005. Everything was going fine until I tried to modify a table from within Access. I got an error message that SQL Express is incompatible with Access 2003, and it suggested I go to the Microsoft website and search for a patch/upgrade to solve this.

I tried to ignore it, and it started warning me that none of my table edits would be saved.

I looked around, but I can't find anything about this.

Is this true? Is there a patch to fix this?

Does SQL Server Express work *easily* with Office 2003? I'm especially interested in using Access 2003 & Excel 2003 with SQL Server Express.

Sql Express On Server 2003 And Vb6 Program

Jun 15, 2006

I have a vb6 program running fine on a domain on SBS 2003 with the backend connected to sql express. I have added a third computer to the domain and I am unable to run the program on the third computer. I am almost certain that it is not a user, login, or role issue. I would appreciate ideas on how to localize this problem.

Thank you

Link To Express Table In Access 2003

Jan 29, 2006

How can make link to a table stored in an sql express 2005 database in access 2003 ? the classic method doesen't work. i tried to use odbc databases as file type to link, then build a data source using SQL native clint driver, but in the combo for default database i don't have the database created before, only master,msdb, model, tempdb. If i try to use the attach database filename text box i receive an error "the datadase entered is not valid". Any suggestions ?

Thx
