Nov 30, 2015I am facing one process related issue.
I have one task in which i have to collect lots of .txt file having ## delimiter my requirement is to convert the delimiter from ## to comma and save the new file with .dat extension in different folder.
I have done all required process and run the application which should flow like collect source .txt file do Script component processing and create new .dat file with processed data in Data Flow task, but in my Task the Source and Destination start on same time and process start after words which cause empty file or some time a.txt file data stored in b.dat file where as a.dat file is completely empty.
The process should flow in sequence but behavior is totally against the process, i am using Foreach Loop Container for pick up each file.

Nov 16, 2011Every day an application creates new tables and dumps static info into them.
I would like to create a package to dynamically export those database tables to raw files for long term archive, one file per table. Here is what I have so far and the issue I am having.
1) Get a list of un-archived tables.
2) Foreach table do the following.
a. Export the table into raw file.
b. Zip the raw file.
c. Update archive tracking table.
As long as the metadata for each table is the same this package seems to work fine. However, I have many tables with different metadata. How can I dynamically get the package update the metadata column collection when it hits a new table? When it hits a table with different metadata I am getting warnings like this:
The column "some_column" needs to be added to the external metadata column collection.
The "external metadata column "someother_column" (103)" needs to be removed from the external metadata column collection.
Then I get this error:
Error: 0xC004706B at dump the table into a raw file, DTS.Pipeline: "component "OLE DB Source" (1)" failed validation and returned validation status "VS_NEEDSNEWMETADATA"

Jun 23, 2015Have Visual Studio 2008 R2 with SP 2 installed. Due to a merger we now have a MySQL database that we need to update from SSIS. Everything works except for the table insert or update. Would upgrading to SP 3 or SP 4 maybe useful with that?
We have installed the latest driver from MySQL. Have tried the ADO.Net and ODBC drivers with similar results when we try to update the database.

Jul 10, 2015I've just imported some SSIS packages onto my instance but my users aren't able to run the jobs for these packages (if thats the write terminology) it keeps failing with this error: Non-SysAdmins have been denied permission to run DTS Execution job steps without a proxy account. The step failed.
I've been looking around and I've been told I can assign the logins to the database roles in msdb but when I look for the roles in msdb they don't exist. SSIS is definitely installed on the server. How do I go about getting these added?
Project Creation Error With Ivolva Component Wizards For Integration Services

I'm just getting started with SSIS and want to create a custom data flow component. I found the Ivolva Digital "Component Wizards for Integration Services" which says it make starting your own custom task or data flow component
a snap by providing a functional base project for your task or component.
Therefore I installed the Component Wizards for Integration Services and everything seemed to install ok - when I started Visual Studio I had the "Custom Data Flow Component" and "Custom Task" templates available in the New Projects dialog.
However, when I try to create a project of either of these types I get the message "Creating project 'CustomTask1'...project creation error" in the status bar, and can't get past the New Project dialog. (I can create all other project types ok, though).
Can anyone offer any advice that might help me out here?

Jun 10, 2015I have a general question I need a few pointers or explanations. I have a top level Data Flow query in a SSIS package that has been running for years for which I have made some minor changes to pull additional fields and rectify a filter condition.
I have noticed that when I run this same query, exactly as entered in the Data Flow task, in the SQL Server 2012 Management Studio, the query returns some 105,000+ records but when run in development by executing the package the top level task only indicates some 21,000 records returned. Since there was not other transformations or filtering performed, I had expected the same record count and am not getting it.

I am performing ETL on that database and loading it into my warehouse. I am trying to put something together so that each day I get the latest snapshot and if its newer then my most recent one I pass that new catalog into the connection manager. I can already run the sql script to compare the two catalogs but I can't populate the connection manager.

n can be hundred.
I want the sp being executed in parallel, not sequence. It means the 3 examples above can be run at the same time.
If I know the number in advance, say 3, I can create 3 different Execution SQL Tasks. They can be run in parallel.
However, the n is not static. It is coming from a table.
How can I execute Stored Procedures in PARALLEL and DYNAMICALLY ?
I think about using script task. In the script, I get the value of n, and the list of p, from the table, then running a loop with. In the loop, I create a threat and in the threat, I execute the sp like : exec test @p = p. So the exec test may be run parallel. But I am not sure if it works.

Oct 6, 2015We are using SQL Server 2014 and SSDT-BI 2013. We have a reporting environment where business users create objects which need to be persisted for fiscal year reporting. Let's say for instance SQLSERVER1SRVR1 they create table objects like below in the reporting environment.
Accounting2014, Accounting2015 in AccountingDB;
Sales2014, Sales2015 in SalesDB;
Products2014, Products2015 in ProductsDB;
Inventory2014, Inventory2015 in InventoryDB etc....
These tables are persisted for auditing in a different environment SQLSERVER2SRVR2 for finance & audit folks.We would want to automate this process using SSIS to create tables in corresponding database and load data. I tried using For Each Loop container but the catch is I could loop the source or destination but how do we loop on Source & Destination at the same time (i.e when source is in AccountingDB destination to be AccountingDB, source SalesDB then destination SalesDB so on etc....

We have requirement like this:
We have Live Database( LIVE_DB ) and Reports Database (REP_DB)
I want to trasfer the few tables data from LIVE_DB into the REP_DB for end of the day using SSIS
If any new records are added, updated or deleted in LIVE_DB, these should reflect in the REP_DB, Our requirement is not to delete the old data, we should append or delete or insert the new transaction data in REP_DB.

Aug 7, 2015I have an excel sheet containing one column (ID_NO) with 400K rows. I have a database from where I have to fetch some other columns from a Netezza database. Initially I tried hardcoding all the 400K rows in the query that I wrote using filter WHERE ID IN ('1212','2334'). But after pasting all the 400K rows the query is running indefinitely.
I have imported all the ID in a SQL table (MY_LIST table). I used a DFT, and selected ODBC source, and selected my netezza server. Then in the 'Data access mode' I selected the SQL command from the dropdown.I pasted the same query that I wrote in Netezza. Is there any way to pull only for those records that I have pulled in my SQL table (MY_LIST) ?
